Pregnant after ivf - 5 weeks

Hi me and a couple of other lucky ladies have got our BFPs following ivf and wanted to create a new thread for others on their early pregnancy journey. I am 5+2 and my first scan is at 6+6. I’m very nervous something will go wrong.

Currently my symptoms are:

• very heavy, swollen, sore breasts
• some morning sickness
• burping and gas
• bloated
• tiredness

Unfortunately bad news on my side. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to tfmr a couple of weeks ago. Baby boy was on this earth for three hours before he passed 💔

Ah sounds like everything is moving in the right direction for you and hopefully you will get some answers! July isn't too far away at all too.

Yes just plodding along as not many appointments now and counting down the weeks with work as it's very stressful at the moment! Xx

I'm so sorry to hear this @Bubbafever how absolutely devastating for you. I really hope you have a big support system around you and take the time you need to get through this. We're all here if you want to talk ❤️

@Bubbafever im so sorry. That must be unimaginable after all you’ve been through to get to this point. I hope you have lots of support around you.

@hopefullsosbry i took some off Amazon for months before and then pregnacare max after transfer.

@NS05 how far along are you now?

we’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster. As the consultant predicted I’m in pain constantly but it’s ebbs and increases depending on what I’m doing. I’m on a huge assortment of
medication because Im still being sick with the hypthermesis and that with the asprin has caused me to have stomach ulcers which tear when I vomit so im vomiting blood. Very scary at first. The constnat vomiting has also meant I’ve got anaemia to add to the mix. I definitely havnt got the 2nd trimester glow people talk about but I’m grateful to be pregnant at all.

baby is doing well. We’re both being well looked after and have my consultant birth plan meeting mid April for final plans. Due date is 12th July but they’ve talked about inducing me at 37 weeks potentially. I’m on a major countdown to finish work!!

@Bubbafever oh gosh I am so sorry !! What a horrible decision to have to make, you are very strong for having to go through this, I hope you are ok it must be so hard and am sure you are grieving .. sending lots of virtual hugs your way .. @Spink2022 thats so rubbish you are having such a horrible experience with your pregnancy .. really hope the symptoms ease soon for you !
@NS05 thats great glad things are heading in right direction .. super exciting .. yeh I think I will start taking the multi vitamins as I am just take folic acid and vitamin D as recommended just now but don’t see why not to take the whole vitamins .. just want to try everything for this last blast to work !

we also just found out we are actually entitled to IVF on the NHS after paying privately for our round there .. we were under tye impressions that as I have a child already but my partner doesn’t that we would be entitled as I have had a live birth before as we though you both have to have never had a child .. well we found out this changed about 5 years ago and so we were actually entitled to it after all 🙄.. so at least we know if we want to do another cycle we will not have the payout this time round .. we have spend over 12 grand so far when we actually didn’t even have to .. just wanted to make that aware for anyone else that didn’t know this has now changed .. do spread the word guys !! Lol

Gosh @Spink2022 what an ordeal to go through, praying the next few months go by quickly and smoothly for you. I'm due 16th July but will have a c section as had one last time so should be the week before, baby is already measuring big again but I had a big baby last time so trying not to worry!

I put in my mat leave today and will hopefully finish 16th June.

@hopefullsosbry I can't believe that! So good that you can potentially get the round for free then! Really praying it all works out for you.

Hello everyone so I was just wondering if any one can help I got my BFP Thursday 23rd 10 days after a 3 day frozen embryo transfer <3BB>

On the Friday my doctors did my hcg which came back at 276 and then again on Monday 1150 and the day after was reading 1870. Does this sound about right. According to my calculations I am 4 weeks 5 days pregnant >29 march> I don't have my scan at the ivf clinic until the 19th of April. I have done a few pregnancy tests and got a 1_2 weeks 5 days ago. No morning sickness just tierd and weird rib pain on right side.

Hi, hcg should double around ever 48 hours .. so that sounds about right.. congrats by the way ! Wonderful news ☺️

Hi everyone, yes I've had my beautiful wee boy after c section 10 days ago. He was early at 33+5 but doing so well in neonatal. Wishing everyone good luck for the weeks ahead 🤞

I had a stretch and sweep today and I’m already 1.5cm dilatad! Woo! got 2 more booked then if I havnt had him I’m booked for induction in 8 days!

I'm just happy to be off on mat leave and chilling - can't believe how fast the time has gone!

@NS05 ive got a lot of contractions and bleeding after my sweep so fingers crossed!!

Yes Baby Luca ✨ our long awaited little angel was 4lbs 9oz so hopefully he will keep going with putting on some weight and feeding regime and we can get him home for all the newborn cuddles 🤞. Oh how exciting @Spink2022 wishing you all the best and @NS05 too. Can't wait to hear your news!

@NS05 hi, hope you don’t mind me bothering you but was wondering how your c section went ? I have had my last FET and in the two week wait just now .. ahhhh .. but I thought about this group which gave me so much comfort last year when I was going through my last fet.. hope all went well with the birth and you are reviving well xxx

@NS05 awh that’s amazing news !! Big congratulations .. hope you and baby Isaac are doing well .. yeh I am ok, had a few mild cramps, going to test in a few days, I can’t wait the 10 days haha .. will keep you posted, if this last one doesn’t work we are considering another round .. I was asked if I wanted to progesterone, nurse said to call if I get a BFP and I can start taking , my levels were all done but she said with as many losses as I have had it can do no harm, wasn’t sure whether to take it or not ? Will decide if I get a positive test I guess.

@hopefullsosbry thank you! That's good re the cramps! I was on lots of progestrone until 12 weeks- 2 injections and 2 pessaries as my clinic like it above 100 at all times. Really hope it works for you! X

Thanks, should i ask to start taking just now do you think ? I hage the FET on Tuesday ? Am only 3 days in ? Am thinking should I have been on it already ? Xxx

@hopefullsosbry yes but I had a medicated cycle was yours natural? Think it's dif of natural x

Yeh it was natural, it’s ok I’ll just hold off until /if I get a positive test .. thanks so much for advice :) xx
