Hi All, I’m so happy to have found this thread!! EDD 25/06/2023, age 37. First time success ivf at Create, London.

Im just have a question about paint fume/ sensitive smell? I moved in currently flat in this June, it was strong paint fumes (water n oil based paint) which the agency said it has been newly painted the whole flat, wall, door and windows etc. I tried to open all the windows as much as possible throughout the summer, and it has been a bit better. But since my week 6 pregnancy, I can smell it again very strongly 🥲I was worry sick so I bought a test machine from Amazon ( specifically for HCHO) and results says it’s low… but the smell still bothering me, and worries me as I heard it’s very important of the first 12 weeks of the baby development.. sorry super long. Just want to hear some opinion from other mothers if you had similar experience and it is okay with the babies etc?

many thanks,
Lily

Hi All hope everyone is doing ok. Since my 12 week scan I have relaxed somebit but cant shake the worry that something could go wrong especially after my two misscarriages this year. Has anyone else experienced symptoms nearly gone in second trimester have sore boobs now and again and up all night peeing but no other symptoms

B1993 · 02/12/2022 18:44

@Lilyp88, we've been renovating/decorating since early in my pregnancy and it's not caused any issues that I'm aware of. I would t worry if I were you; lots of people are around those types of chemicals and baby is just fine.

@ImHopeful2023, at this point I'm pretty symptomless (14 weeks tomorrow). I still occasionally get mild nausea but that's about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

B1993 · 02/12/2022 18:49

Is anyone opting for another private scan before their 20w one? I feel like 15/1/23 is ages away and keeping toying with the idea of having one a couple of weekends from now.

I've completed the online booking a few times but not actually processed the order as £65 for a 5 min scan seems so much, especially now with the cost of everything.

I'm so undecided 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

NalaNana · 02/12/2022 18:52

@B1993 I'm having a private scan on 22 December to find out the sex in time for Christmas! Will be 17 weeks then.

I'm SO tempted to have one. I've already paid for the Sneak Peak so am pretty sure it's another DS but since I contaminated my results, I can't be 100%. I generally think boy anyway but also have a niggle that I could be wrong and really wanted to announce the gender at xmas too!

BobbySD345 · 02/12/2022 19:33

Eugh I typed a massive reply but we were out and about and I clearly lost signal as it hasn't posted.

My scan is on 13th. I told my boss on Weds. I wasn't going to but I couldn't figure out how to do the scan. It's nowhere near work and right in the middle of the day. He was SO nice and supportive. Massive weight off my shoulders.

Is anyone else definitely showing at around 11 weeks? I was convinced at around 8 weeks it was just bloating but I can feel the uterus and I feel enormous. I'm really struggling to hide it now. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I'm not physically active so I never toned my stomach back or anything. It's never been flat since my first but this is a definite round pregnant belly. Just seems so early !

We went out for dinner tonight and I ordered a burger. Reckon I had 3 bites and 4 chips. Feel like there's no room in there !

How many of us are having gender scans? Think we are booking one for 10th Jan. Clinic said we could go the weekend before at 15 weeks but we did that with our first and they got it wrong ...

B1993 · 02/12/2022 09:05

@Marmiteontoastyum, ahhh, it’s so lovely seeing more of these gorgeous scan photos! 🤩 I’m pleased everything was as it should be! Have you got a new DD now?

Yes! Baby is a DD! Can you tell from the pic? 😃 We had the Panorama test results just come back

Marmiteontoastyum · 02/12/2022 20:04

@BobbySD345 Yes! Either bloated or it’s baby!! I went to Tesco today to try and get maternity leggings but apparently they don’t do them. Will try Asda next week!

Sorry, I meant due date from the dating scan - probably shouldn't have used DD since that's another acronym 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yay to your baby girl though 🎀

ImHopeful2023 · 02/12/2022 20:12

@B1993 thanks have you decided re your next scan. I had my booking app this week looks like my next routine scan will be in January but at times I feel like I need one every day to see everything is ok 🙈

B1993 · 02/12/2022 20:13

@BobbySD345, I'm so pleased things went well when you told your boss; I know you were worried so it's good it's out in the open now. 😊

I've definitely got a bump! Since it's been so cold today, I went to put on a jumper and all my non-maternity ones looked tight and ridiculous. I've ended up just wearing a maternity one! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow so feel like it's super early but I'd rather be comfortable 🤷🏻‍♀️

What a nightmare RE wrong gender!! I had my son's just shy of 15 weeks and he was very obviously a boy 😂

B1993 · 02/12/2022 20:18

@ImHopeful2023, I have the booking added to my basket but haven't committed to paying the deposit yet!! I need to decide quickly as the dates are booking up quickly with it being so close to Christmas - I'm thinking people want Christmas announcements/reveals - and our work schedules make it even more tricky to get a date that's convenient.

Will you be having one?

ImHopeful2023 · 02/12/2022 20:49

@B1993 I have my doc next week and she might do a quick scan but my next scan really is 20 -24 week all going well. I just wish we had some way of knowing baby is ok and healthy

1sttimemumn · 02/12/2022 20:53

Hi everyone!

so sorry to jump in. I had a baby back in January and was part of a really amazing Facebook turned WhatsApp chat that helped me through everything, all mums due the same time. Is there anything like this for June 23 babies does anyone know? Xx

Lilyp88 · 02/12/2022 22:58

Thanks so much for your reply @B1993 I feel better now ❤️

This is me - I really badly want the private scan , three things are putting me off . The times has to be within child care hours . I want my husband present but he is a at for work for most of December and then the cost . I don’t think I can wait till January.

im in two minds about the gender - literally worried everyone else but me will have gender disappointment . ( I already have a DD)

Any tips to fight acid reflux - reflux is so bad , I woke up a few mins ago and vommed.

BobbySD345 · 03/12/2022 07:06

@B1993 Hiya! Yea the sonographer literally said to us I have never been more sure of a girl before. We had a tradition that we would go buy something after each scan and we got loads of pink haha. Then 1.5 ish weeks later we went again and it was unmistakably a boy !!
I would love to know before Christmas, what an amazing experience that would be. Our dates just don't allow for it. I will be 15 weeks by NYE so we will probably have to go the weekend after ! Unless the dating scan on 13th changes things of course.
We definitely want to know the gender so we can tell our 3 year old he's having a sister or a brother. We haven't told him yet but he asked for a baby sister the other day out of nowhere and I reckon my OH has been sneakily sewing the seed lol

BobbySD345 · 03/12/2022 07:08

@Zaalfruit Biggest thing I found helped with acid reflux is being propped up at night. Try and lie as upright as you can with pillows without becoming uncomfortable. Avoid foods that are culprits for reflux after lunchtime. If you Google online there is a whole list. And then indigestion remedies by the side of the bed !!

B1993 · 03/12/2022 07:16

@Zaalfruit, glad to know I'm not the only one going back and forth! There's currently 2 afternoon slots on Saturday 17th, which is when I'll be 16+0 (just within their timeframe). It's really the only date that we'd be able to make given that the term doesn't finish until the 21st so I'm at work until then and the scanning place don't have any slots after this 😩

Think I need to make a decision and just stick to it! 😅

Also, I don't have any tips RE acrid reflux. Sorry you're having to put up with it though - sounds awful!

B1993 · 03/12/2022 07:23

You hear that they get it wrong occasionally @BobbySD345 but you never think it would be you!! 😓 At least it wasn't the 20w scan that you'd found it baby was a 'girl' only to be told at birth that they'd got it wrong! Still must have been just awful though preparing for sex and then finding out it was wrong.

Will you be using the same place if you opt for the gender scan this time around, or has that put you off?

I wasn't planning on telling my 3 year old just yet, but he's a bright boy and picked up on conversations. 🤦🏻‍♀️ He's kept mentioning his 'baby brother', which is fine as I'm 95% sure baby is after Sneak Peek and 12w scan guesses, but I still have that niggle so want it confirmed by ultrasound.

I found the new thread! I was I getting withdrawal symptoms from you all!

I noticed mention of cyclogest pessaries. I was going to message Tommy's as I can't remember whether I am meant to take them to 12 weeks or 14 weeks? I have 14 in my mind for some reason.

Does anyone have their dating scan next week? I feel like I am quite behind compared to most in the group. EDD 25/6/23 although I won't get that far, they will induce me early.

Hi @BobbySD345 My clinic said to completely stop at 12 weeks. It’s scary but I’m trusting them! I think all protocols are different though so best to check x

Hi Lily

Please try not to worry. I know how hard it is. I was worried about toxoplasmosis after I ate an undercooked hot dog the other day. 😣 I also am pregnant through IVF and I do think anxiety is elevated because the stakes are so high. It’s taken us four years to conceive! So sometimes it’s good to balance out knowing you are anxious with the real reason why. If you’re monitor says the chemical level is low then trust it. Sending you a big hug.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 03/12/2022 12:11

Had my work Christmas do last night. I told my colleagues that I'm pregnant. One miss heard and thought that I'd said my cat is pregnant.
Cat is a boy!

Marmiteontoastyum · 03/12/2022 15:17

Lol 😂@DrinkingAllTheGin

now that would be pretty hard to achieve 😂
