@DrinkingAllTheGin Loving the pic !!
Did they make you do jumps or move about. I had to jump in my scan , the bean was upside down at one point . The jump made me want to wet my pants .

@pippabg I’m 33 and they said to me it’s close to a geriatric pregnancy. I was in shock!

@firsttimelondonmummy That’s a very sensible approach . Also I was not aware of the fact , the differences in screening across the trusts. It’s got me thinking - maybe I should have gotten a more in-depth blood test .

Any due days buddies - 1st June

justbelieve · 29/11/2022 07:30

@pippabg i’m getting the test done for similar reasons to @firsttimelondonmummy although I’m 26.

I’m sure everything would be fine for me on the NHS scans, but I like that the NIPT testing gives you a more reliable result - the biggest motivator for me was that I have anxiety and I’m an over thinker - I’m getting mine done on Saturday
when I’ll be 10+6, whereas my 12 week scan is when I’m 12+4, and the wait would really bother me. I discussed with my partner and we agreed we could afford it for some (hopefully) peace of mind

Hankatherine01 · 29/11/2022 08:20

Hi ladies!
unsure where to post so a friend suggested this thread!
Im currently 12 weeks 4 days pregnant. Had my dating scan yesterday and I’m due 9th June! I just wandered if anyone had any guesses on gender on my lil baba.

My guess is girl but my sister reckons it’s a boy. What do you ladies think?

also I wish everyone a healthy and safe pregnancy!!

@Hankatherine01 hi and congratulations 🥳 The picture isn't the clearest but looks like an early girl to me (still time for the nub to rise before 13 weeks!)

DrinkingAllTheGin · 29/11/2022 09:17

@pippabg I'm 41 and will be 42 when bubs is here.

@Zaalfruit I had to wiggle my hips, get up and go for a walk and eat something sugary. It was mainly to get the measurements as we could see heart beating straight away.

thedust · 29/11/2022 10:05

Hello all! Congrats on the lovely scan pics, mine is next week at 12+6. I'm 11+4 today and finally gave into my maternity jeans today 😂 so big 2nd time round, almost wouldn't be surprised to see 2 babies on the scan next week hahah.

dresslol · 29/11/2022 12:54

@pippabg I got the Panorama test which checks for the most conditions of all the NIPT tests, it is very accurate (I hope) and can be taken from 10 weeks. You can also choose to find out the gender with total accuracy.

I'm due 10th June also.

HasHus86 · 29/11/2022 13:50

Hi everyone!
I went in for a private scan today thinking I was 10+2 weeks but I’m measuring 9+4 weeks which I’m not really bothered about because dates can vary at the beginning. What I’m worried about is tho that I could see the heart fluttering away on the screen but the sonographer didn’t actually let me hear the heartbeat even after I told her. She said they tend not listen to the heart beat as long as you can see it beating it’s all good.

one thing I am relieved about it that it’s a singleton. I’ve already got two sets of twins so didn’t want another one this time!

congratulations everyone else on your positive 12 week scans. I can’t wait for mine which is in 3 weeks.

AstroH · 29/11/2022 15:27

@B1993 NHS scan said 3rd June, due date twins 🥳

I’m 33 and got my combined test results back yesterday. My risk seemed very low (I think 1/8,000 for Downs and 1/16,000 for Edwards/Patau) The doctor didn’t seem to have any worries. We said we would keep the baby if it had Downs.

Is anyone else still absolutely knackered? I’m 14 weeks on Saturday and the nausea is so much better (aside from early evening) but omg I’m still dead tired. I thought it was supposed to get better by now 😫

Zaalfruit · 29/11/2022 17:16

Aww super cute pic - I have never seen such an early scan ! @HasHus86 Amazing what our bodies can create .

Anyone else super emotional - everything makes me cry so much . Can be something small and unrelated to me .

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 29/11/2022 17:23

Scan today measures 12+2, only 2 days behind where I thought I was so I'm happy. He was a really jiggly little thing, he kept jumping up and down and spinning so sonographer spent a lot of time trying to wait for him to be still enough for a picture. He kept going onto his head 😂He's very lively. Due date 11th June. Here he is with his legs in the air.

Ally1992 · 29/11/2022 17:53

@AstroH yes I’m more exhausted this last week than I’ve been the whole pregnancy and currently 12 and a half weeks.

I took an hours annual leave today (I have a few random hours left) to finish work early and nap, my partner thought it was weird to do but I was struggling to keep my eyes open!

B1993 · 29/11/2022 17:57

@Fredthespider and @AstroH, it's nice having DD twins 😊 My first came 5 days early so this baby could possibly be born before, too. Then again, a friend's first was early but her second was late so I guess you never do know!

@thedust, I definitely feel huge and hate anything now that doesn't have a stretchy waistband. I don't think I'll make it to Christmas before I fully transition to just mat clothes.

My guess would be boy 💙 @Hankatherine01

B1993 · 29/11/2022 17:59

Also, lovely so see everyone's babies! 😍 I'm glad that all the recent scans have gone well!

B1993 · 29/11/2022 18:04

I had my consultation today and am back on daily injections. Wah! 😓 Consult did say that everything else looks very healthy (BMI, blood pressure and blood results etc.) so I won't see him again now until 32 weeks. He mentioned the combined screening I had last week but said the results aren't back from those yet. I anticipate it would be low risk, as it was with my first, since I don't have any risk markers, but it's still a nervous wait.

I've also got my 20 week scan appointment through! 16/1/23. It's nice to have that to look forwards to in the new year. 🥰

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 29/11/2022 18:09

@B1993 I got my 20 week scan booked in today whilst at the 12 week scan. 24/1/23. Can't believe it'll be halfway already by then, it seems so close.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 29/11/2022 20:21

I've just read that if you have a backwards tilted uterus, you don't show as early. Maybe that's why I have no bump as mine is very tilted back.

Zaalfruit · 29/11/2022 20:27

@B1993 oh I hope you are alright !
You and I have the same day booked for our 20 week scan .

@BellaTheDarkOverlord I can’t believe Jan will be the half way mark - for some reason spread over two calendar years makes it seems longer for me the 9 months 😂😂😂

Algor1thm · 29/11/2022 22:03

My 20 week scan is on 11th Jan! Had to double check they got the date right as I couldn't believe that would actually be halfway. This pregnancy is absolutely flying by compared to my first, but I was in lockdown with my first so time crawled. Plus having a 2 year old really makes the time pass quicker 😅

natkasz · 29/11/2022 22:09

Can anyone provide me with some reassurance?

I had my booking appt at 8+3, my midwife weighted and measured me (which I had to insist on) and it transpired I was 3cm shorter than when measured previously which pushed me into the obese category (30.2). At no point did she mention I had to be on a higher dose of folic acid and when I texted her, she replied last week when I was 10+0 saying it's okay for me to go on a higher dose. I have since asking my GP for a script but am I yet to hear back. I have less than 1.5 weeks left until I'm 12w when folic acid is no longer required.

Has either of you ladies been in a similar situation? I'm concerned about spina bifida and feel like I want to ask for my midwife to be swapped.

B1993 · 30/11/2022 06:07

@BellaTheDarkOverlord and @Algor1thm,I know! It's seems crazy that we're nearly half way. I've found that those early days and weeks dragged - the first trimester did with my first, too!! Things seems to be going quicker now, since I've got appointments booked in, which gives me something to focus on.

@Zaalfruit, thank you checking 😊💜 I'm fine! I was diagnosed with DVT (blood clots) when I was 18 caused by the contraceptive pill!! Since the same hormones are present (and at higher levels) when you're pregnant, I have to have the injections as a precaution. I had the same with my first, too. They're awful but a necessary evil to keep both me and baby safe.

We'll have to keep each other posted on scan day!

I've been considering having another one before then. Anyone else? I'll be 16 weeks on December 16th which is close to my birthday and not too far off Christmas, so I figured I can call it an early birthday present to myself 😂

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 30/11/2022 07:52

@B1993 I had to inject myself each day for two weeks after my last baby and hated it. I feel your pain.

I might have a 16 week scan to find the sex. I'll be 16 week on Xmas day so might see if there's appointments between Xmas and new year. DH is desperate to find out lol.

Zaalfruit · 30/11/2022 08:00

@natkasz my bmi is 30.1 and I have not been told to take the higher dose of Folic acid . They placed me on the obese category. However as I am just over they told me to take the normal amount . I hope that is a little reassuring.

@b1993 ooh your right it’s an necessary inconvenience , but safety first for you and baby ! I think you should get scan !! That’s an amazing present.

@Algor1thm having a toddler basically means you never stop right ! This is how I feel - my toddlers 2 as well, from the moment they are up till they go to sleep you are basically running around . I need to potty train her but Being pregnant I am putting it off. 😂

Ally1992 · 30/11/2022 08:18

@B1993 I think I will have a scan at 16 weeks to find out the sex, even though everyone thinks it’s
a boy! I’m also going to put together a photo book with scan photos and bump pictures so would be nice to have 1 in between the 20 weeks to look back on 😊

firsttimelondonmummy · 30/11/2022 11:09

Morning all!
Had our Harmony today was such a great process (we went to Harley Street Ultrasound) super lovely people and the blood test was painless and fast.
We also got a really comprehensive scan where she checked spine, kidneys, arms and legs and did a nuchal test.
They also sent me a million photos!
Worth every penny and results to follow in 7 days 🤞🏻 keeping fingers crossed we are low risk for everything.
