Hey guys, hope everyone's feeling ok and positive this morning. I'm currently eating my third small meal of the day haha, I find that if I don't eat super regularly I feel nauseous. So weird how you can feel sick but then only eating will make you feel better!

I can't remember who originally asked about the flu jab but I kept meaning to reply that I had mine done last week at Boots, no problem. I completed a form to say I was pregnant and they didn't even question it. Apparently, they just send it through to your doctors who then confirm whether that is the case and they don't have to chase you for payment.

mumma2oneDD · 29/11/2022 11:42

@jugglingbabas I didn't think I'd be stressed with 2nd pregnancy but yes I'm feeling more stressed this time round. Don't know why?!

Glad to hear all was well with your scan 🙂

Very useful info, thank you. I was wondering how I can get free flu jab, without booking through GP etc.

I exactly know how you feel re sickness. I was always 2-3 big meals kind of person, and now I had 2 crackers (right after I opened my eyes 😂), then small dates&cashews bar, banana, and will have sandwich and another banana to keep me going until 5PM, otherwise I'm feeling sick, and I can hear my stomach rumbling at the same time😳

I'm eating constantly, I've put so much weight on already but if I don't I spend all day retching, it's vile.

For anyone newer to the thread we have a Facebook group at

It's called Waterlilies (a birth flower of July) and is set to private, so notifications look innocuous x

I'm just over 6 weeks and had a scan yesterday which picked up a heartbeat. Sickness is getting worse and starting to gag slightly at smells. The only way I can keep the sickness at bay is to eat, which means I've probably gained nearly half a stone already as I hardly ate before I found as I was pregnant as was on a constant calorie deficit to lose weight. Its hard mentally for me to accept I've gained weight after over a year of eating really well to lose so much weight. I'm just trying to accept that I need to eat at this stage to get by and to keep focused on healthy fats i'm putting into my body so I can sustain a heathy pregnancy.

babybrainfart · 29/11/2022 12:26

Anyone peeing lots in the night. I'm up twice a night and find it so hard to get back to sleep. I'm exhausted

So sorry you feel this way :( Maybe you could continue calorie counting? I understand your concerns, as I am freaking out just thinking of putting on extra weight (I am struggling with body image, putting on weight makes me anxious). I never ate this often in my life, but it's the ony thing that keeps nausea at bay (well, maybe when I was a kid and was growing quickly), so at least I'm trying to count how many calories I ate (I set target on 1700-1800 calories for 1st trimester).

babybrainfart · 29/11/2022 12:34

@99pctpractice I have a subchorionic hematoma with my son and it resolved on its own. It was around 6 weeks and I was convinced I had miscarried due to the amount of bleeding. I hope you are doing ok.

babybrainfart · 29/11/2022 12:38

@xogossipgirlxo I'm going to speak to my midwife as I would imagine she would want me to eat the recommended daily cals. The problem is I want to eat carbs and thats about it. I could happily eat salted butter on toast all day long. I am starting the day with scrambled egg, which does seem to be helping a bit. I struggle with body image, but surprisingly once I get a decent bump I actually really embrace and love my body. This is my third baby :)

MamaSJ15 · 29/11/2022 13:09

@Freddie1987 thank you, it was me that asked about the flu jab, I'm booked in at my GP to have it done 16th December.

I also feel like I'm constantly eating! Just feel hungry a lot so I'm eating 😂

@babybrainfart yes I'm up in the night to pee too. My DD also woke me up around 2:30am saying she had bumble bees in her room (she was dreaming!) And she has a cough too so I stayed awake a bit to make sure she had settled again. I do constantly feel tired but it's partly my own fault for staying up later than I should 🙈

I just missed a call from the midwives office to book in my first appointment! Tried calling back but had to leave a message so I hope they call back soon! Can't wait for that first appt, make it feel a bit more real.

Freddie1987 · 29/11/2022 13:16

@MamaSJ15 ah no worries, glad you have something booked in anyway. I've just got over a nasty cold which is what prompted me to book it in as I can't imagine having to deal with the flu being pregnant!

I'm also in a bit of a worry about upcoming Christmas party with work on the 8th. I've always enjoyed a Friday drink with the team so it's going to be painfully obvious if I'm not drinking. I think I genuinely have to pretend I am to avoid a spanish inquisition (not that it's anyone's business but you know what it's like). I then also have a leaving do the week after....arrgghhh! Any tips from anyone that's dealt with parties before?? The last time I was pregnant was from January 2020 when I was doing dry Jan anyway and then it was obviously the pandemic so pretty easy to keep it quiet 😅

candycrush789 · 29/11/2022 14:36

I can't believe I'm posting this but I have a baby in my belly and it has a heartbeat 😭♥️ measuring 6+1 but she said its so small at this stage it's literally just a click of a mouse that changes it. But she said everything looked perfect and heartbeat was normal. She has re booked me a scan for 3 weeks only because of how anxious I was. But I'm so over the moon!

That's amazing! Congratulations!
I think we will have very similar dates. I'm going for a scan tomorrow and really hope it's as clear as yours!

I am this close <shows with fingers> to not going. Feeling rubbish doesn't help either and the thought of all these smells in the restaurant, noise etc. makes me sick. I don't think I can handle it, to be honest, and most likely will not go. I will tell at work I'm not feeling well. If someone starts being suspicious, good for them. I thought I'd go and pretend to have a drink (while I will be drinking sprite or so), but I don't think I will survive until evening.

candycrush789 · 29/11/2022 15:09

@s14a it was abdominal, as soon as she put it on I could see it straight away 🥰🥰x

xogossipgirlxo · 29/11/2022 15:10

@candycrush789 how lovely, congratulations ❤

Rutennotou · 29/11/2022 15:14

@candycrush789 Great news, congratulations 🎊

My toddler refuses to take a nap and I vomited up my lunch so I'm currently just lying on the sofa with Cocomelon on wondering if this is what hell is like 😬🤣

xogossipgirlxo · 29/11/2022 16:04

Did your GP surgery ring you to book the appointment? I just got a text from mine, that my appointment is on XXX at XXX, and I'm wondering if this is mistake, or they just do it like this 😂I will ring them to confirm, but just wondering.

Writerscompanion · 29/11/2022 16:40

Mine just booked me in without a call - on Christmas Eve at 9am! At a health practice that isn't my local one. It's self-registration with hospital so trying to ring and see if it can be nearer/on a different day - but I've never got off hold or further than sixth in the queue. I know it's minor compared to other concerns but we're supposed to be away!

Kiki2015 · 29/11/2022 17:20

Hi, recently found out I am pregnant with my 3rd (not planned 🤦‍♀️), only had a cesarean 10 months ago which was my second cesarean so abit worried if I will be able to carry full term as i dont want to out myself at risk as i have 2 kids to look after. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance x

Boonawoona · 29/11/2022 17:37

@Kiki2015 congratulations! How far along are you? Assuming your early as you’ve just found out. Most experts suggest leaving 18-24 months between c-sections and some suggest only 12 months. However, it sounds as though you’ll be closer to the 18 month mark?

Kiki2015 · 29/11/2022 17:52

Thank you! I'm about 7-8 weeks at the moment, my son is 10 months old but will be 18 months by time I would have this one but I'm just worried my scar might rupture when I start getting big as I have had 2 already and I got told the wall of womb is thin when I had my son 🤦‍♀️ I would like to go through with the pregnancy if possible but like I said I also don't want to put myself at risk because of my other 2 kids, the midwife said I should be OK because by time I start stretching it would of been over a year since I had my son but I'm such a paranoid person it would be nice to know if someone else has gone through this aswell to put my mind at rest.

Charlotte1256 · 29/11/2022 18:46

Hi guys, please can I join, I’ve just requested to join the FB group. I’m 7 weeks 3 days, struggling with a lot of nausea at the moment, I was doing fine then a few days ago it’s just hit me like a bus!
Feeling guilty for not being well enough to go to work, but I’ve had some cyclizine prescribed from the GP today so will see how that goes xx
