Hi ladies!
im 5+3 today and did a weeks indicator CB test. It’s saying 2-3 weeks but should be 3+ :/

are these quite accurate or has anyone had a similar experience?

MamaSJ15 · 22/11/2022 13:25

@Hjudge56 these are not accurate! Don't let this get you down, so many people have issues with them. I stopped testing when I got the 2-3 weeks which was when I was 4+5 I think. Haven't done another since.

Rutennotou · 22/11/2022 14:09

Eight weeks today and morning sickness is kicking my ass 😫

Hjudge56 · 22/11/2022 14:14

@MamaSJ15 ah thank you. I have seen on google
they’re not. I think I’ve just got in my own head too as I’ve had the mild cramps and sore boobs but the last 2 days ive only had fatigue so got me worried my hcg levels were declining after the 2-3 week indicator!

Boonawoona · 22/11/2022 16:30

Aw @Rutennotou, it’s just the worst feeling, I’m dreading mine starting. Does the sickness last all day or a specific time of day?

Olegia · 22/11/2022 16:31

Hey everyone, just checking in, it feels like those first few weeks are such a drag, as you wait for the first trimester to be over so you can be on the 'safe' side!
I've been trying not to think too much about it and just get on with my days as I wait for my next midwife appointment.

@Hjudge56 These aren't accurate no, they're semi-accurate, but don't rely on them. I also had a 2-3, when I should have been a 3, and I've had a scan with a heartbeat last week, so don't worry!

@Rutennotou Hang in there! Fresh ginger with a bit of lemon seem to help (but maybe it's just placebo?), and nibbling on a few plain crackers should help :) Aside from that, do you have any other symptoms? I feel like my breast have doubled in size to be honest

@MamaSJ15 Are you feeling any better from your cold? You've been having it for a little while now, hope you get better soon!

Congrats @xogossipgirlxo! What a lovely surprise.I am in a similar situation, I've been diagnosed with PCOS so always figured it would be harder for me (I've had really irregular cycles in the past, I'm talking skipping 3 months in a row). But I've been taking inositol supplements and boost my fat intake as I'm on the lower end of the BMI scale, and it happened with in the first cycle, which I couldn't believe!

Does anyone know how likely it is to have a silent miscarriage after having seen a hearbeat on an ultrasound? I've always been terrified of blighted ovum, as you don't know when it happens, but last week friday I had my first scan, which put me at 5+5 (I thought I was at 7!), and we managed to see a tiny heartbeat. How much are the chances of a silent miscarriage once a heartbeat has been seen?

Sending love and support to everyone!

FirsttimemummrsJ · 22/11/2022 18:02

Thank you! I just think it's odd that you have to wait so long before you see someone. Hope the next 2 weeks go quickly. I should hear from someone before the 7th.
I've been fine since then so fingers crossed.
I can't believe the tiredness at the moment - I'm a secondary school teacher and normally work long hours after school to get stuff done. I'm struggling to stay up past 7pm at the moment. Also, the sleeping of a night is horrendous. But it's amazing what our bodies are doing!! 🙈

This was me last week. I should have been between 4+4 and 5+0 but I got 1-2. I thought I was out and really upset about it but my frers which I had been doing every 48 hours were darker as well as the one step that I was doing daily.

I did one today and I got my 2-3 and I am 5+1-5+4 with my other tests now dye stealers.

Hjudge56 · 22/11/2022 18:52

@s14a that’s good to hear! I have been doing cheapies and they’ve been dye stealers for a few days now just annoying when you see!

I’ve got an early scan booked in for Sunday where I’ll be 6+1 so if that goes okay I’ll calm down as I read the chance of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat gets reduced quite a lot

JJbaby · 22/11/2022 19:12

I’m same and 2-3 today too 🤣

Rutennotou · 22/11/2022 19:56

@Boonawoona It's at its worst in the morning and comes and goes all day. I was sick the entire time in my last pregnancy so I am reaaaalllllyy hoping it's not the same this time 😂

@Olegia I've just been grazing away OK whatever I can find haha, it's the only thing that really helps! My boobs are quire sore at times and definitely bigger. Quite bloated at times too. Trousers feeling a bit snug!

Helen090722 · 22/11/2022 20:23

Hello, I found out I was pregnant last week and am 5 weeks today if my calculations are correct and due date of 26th July! This is my first pregnancy and I feel a bit out of my depth! Fingers crossed all goes well. Thinking of telling our parents next week as not sure I can or want to keep it secret until 12 weeks! Lovely to read lots of other lovely ladies experiences x

Totorotoes · 22/11/2022 20:41

@ThePodParent I am totally doing this!! 😂 I am feeling nauseous nearly all the time but living in fear of it disappearing! 🙈
@Hjudge56 I did this too, when I was at 6 weeks. I waited until I knew my HCG was high enough for a 3+ (it was 962 at 4w5d), but still only got 2-3. I have my scan next week at 7+4. Rational me is telling me it's not a scientific test and I probably just have dilute wee as i drink a lot, but pregnant anxious me is already preparing for the worst and convinced its not viable. I would not recommend these tests to anyone, they just add to the stress!! But, just to reassure you, the range of 'normal' HCG is so wide that at 5+3, 2-3 weeks is absolutely normal for a lot of people.

ThePodParent · 22/11/2022 21:15

@Writerscompanion and @Totorotoes so glad it isn’t just me! 😅

Already in bed for the night as I’m so shattered and the nausea is just beginning to creep in again… so I definitely feel pregnant still, despite a fairly nice start to the day (which freaked me out 🤦🏻‍♀️).

MamaSJ15 · 22/11/2022 22:10

@Olegia I'm slowly getting better thank you for asking 😊 the sinus infection hit me quite hard, it still hurts in one spot occasionally but mostly gone, the cold is on its way out now too.
How are you doing?

MamaSJ15 · 22/11/2022 22:13

@Hjudge56 I'm so glad you've got a scan soon 😊 can't wait to hear how that goes, mine is in a couple of weeks when I'll be 7+6 ❤️ I am constantly bloated at the moment so could actually pass for looking pregnant half the time 🙈

squirrelnutkins1 · 22/11/2022 22:35

I still don't really 'feel' pregnant. I'm super bloated sometimes and have had the odd bit of nausea and hunger but that's about it. Half wishing for symptoms, but then like one of the pp said I'd be wishing the symptoms away lol!
Got my 8 weeks scan a week on Friday so on the countdown now. Eek.

Congrats for all the new bfp's :)

squirrelnutkins1 · 22/11/2022 22:35

I got through to the doctors last week and they said I had to fill in a form and drop it back for the midwife. I'm still waiting for her to ring to give me an appointment.

ThePodParent · 23/11/2022 06:50

Morning all! (About to eat my bowl of weetabix in bed, which seems to stop the nausea in its tracks this time around…)

To anyone that has experienced a MC before, you might appreciate this line from today’s BBC article about pregnancy after miscarriage:

“If you have had one miscarriage there is usually a very good chance that your next pregnancy will be successful.”

I was told this in hospital after I’d had the operation too, but it was good to read it again today. I feel like I needed to read that.

Also just completed this, which gave me some really reassuring results:

www.miscarriagetool.tommys.org

Totally not expecting it all to go well after last time, but it’s nice to allow a tiny bit of hope in!

To lighten the mood: What is everyone else’s morning sickness avoidance bed-snack of choice? I was oat cakes the first time, toast the second and now weetabix!

Maeven1302 · 23/11/2022 07:34

Hey, hoping to join here! Found out a few days ago I'm pregnant with baby 2! Due around 23-30th July (irregular cycles) so will find out more accurate due date just before Christmas when I go for an early scan at around 8/9 weeks.

Symptoms just now are feeling mildly nauseous and super sweaty at night!

Totorotoes · 23/11/2022 08:22

@Maeven1302 welcome and congratulations!

@ThePodParent it sounds like you've got breakfast in bed sorted! Funnily enough I always wake up feeling fine (other than tired and starving!). Nausea normally sets in after breakfast when I start getting ready, and then lasts all day until bed. I think it's worse with movement, maybe I should just stay in bed! 😂
But, snacks of choice are oat cakes and Nairns oat ginger biscuit/cakes. No craving or aversions but seem to have no interest in any food that isn't beige 🤣🤷‍♀️

@MamaSJ15 talking of bloating, I actually wore maternity jeans yesterday because they were so much more comfy over the bloat...😳

Totorotoes · 23/11/2022 08:28

Ps @ThePodParent also means I wake up every morning thinking my symptoms have disappeared...again... 🤣🤦‍♀️

Mamaoftwooo · 23/11/2022 09:07

Hi everyone! ♥️

quite shocked to find myself here after having a miscarriage only last month, didn’t think I’d be lucky enough to fall Steiger away, my anxiety is literally taking over me already 😥 any slight pain I think the worst!
but I need to try and stay positive!
my GP is dating me from my last scan which showed that the miscarriage was ‘completed’ so I’m just over 5 weeks

I have two children already, 7 years and 8 months, I’ve suffered with HG in both of those pregnancies so hoping history doesn’t repeat its self even though the chances are I will suffer from it again! Has anyone else on here suffered from HG? ♥️♥️

JJbaby · 23/11/2022 09:27

I'm in same position. MC last month and positive pregnant test 16th Nov. 😅this will be my 3rd, I've a 6 and 9 year old.
