Small questions on calculation of 'weeks pregnant': I understand that we count from the first day of our last menstrual period, but what would you consider '7 weeks' for example? When you are 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant (you are then technically in your 'seventh' week, although you haven't finished that 7th week yet)

Totorotoes · 10/11/2022 14:24

@Chaoscontrol and @ScarletDreams I am so sorry you are feeling so anxious. I know what you mean about worrying about faint lines- the test my clinic gave me was barely visible on test day, and was still faint yesterday at 17dpo (or in my case- 12dp5dt)- similar but a little lighter than @Balajake's. However, it HAS progressed, and I have to remind myself these tests don't show HOW pregnant we are, just that we ARE pregnant!
Having said that, I've been having cramps since yesterday and have got a GP appt to ask for a HCG blood test to confirm pregnancy, and I haven't been able to concentrate at all on work today...so I am definitely a paid up member of the crazy anxious club, I can try and reassure others but have absolutely zero ability to calm myself down. But I'm glad to have other anxious pregnant ladies here so I'm not just going mad on my own! 😂
Congrats everyone btw

heartbroken22 · 10/11/2022 15:01

@Olegia I think they just count it as 6 weeks even if you're over a few days.

polkadotdasies88 · 10/11/2022 15:58

Was convinced I had a tinge of blood when I wiped this morning & went into melt down. I took pictures (this is what I've become now 🙈) showed it to my husband who just thought I was bonkers and said there was nothing there, thank god he keeps me sane! I've calmed down a bit more now I just think it was normal as I've had slightly yellowy cm since my bfp. It's just SO hard when you're constantly expecting to see something.

Chaoscontrol · 10/11/2022 16:19

Stupidly stupidly stupidly tested after a small hold and lots of water today, line is almost not there on easy at home but on frer it is there still and pink. I'm stupid I know. Wish I didn't. I am 3 days past my period and feeling more symptoms each day, Any reassurance would be great, I'm all hot and panicked 😢 cos I'm stupid 😂

polkadotdasies88 · 10/11/2022 16:29

@Chaoscontrol My lines took forever to show up properly on those tests whilst they were quite strong on FRER so please don't panic ❤️ I'm 5w 5d and only now are my easy at home tests looking properly dark. Sending big hugs X

Thank you 🥰 thank you.
Easy at home normally show but the one just then was almost not there. I panicked and took a frer and it did show which calmed me.
I might need to stop testing and just test once a week. I'm going on the assumption that no period and a positive test means baby is still in there, Maybe that's where I leave it for a few days. Man, no one tells you the first few weeks are like this. My heart went, I have drunk so much water today and hadn't held for long at all. I knew I shouldn't of tested. X

Mortima · 10/11/2022 17:04

Tentatively joining 🙂I'm 4w3d, 13dpo, so very early - had positive tests on easy@home and FRER at 10DPO, but negative digital.

Tested again with easy@home and FRER after 48 hours and still quite faint with no obvious progression, so I'm very much on edge and half expecting to start bleeding - I see that others have had similar anxieties though so it is helpful to know I'm not alone. AF would normally have arrived yesterday and still no sign, so that's good.

I'm trying to step away from testing for another few days. This is my first pregnancy, so I'm got a lot to learn, and no idea what to expect really.

Totorotoes · 10/11/2022 17:05

@Chaoscontrol imagine what you would say to anyone else on here who tested after a short hold when super hydrated....then repeat to yourself!! ❤
And...Think of HCG as like orange squash...the more water you add, the less you can taste it/see it because it is more dilute (NB: ...obvs don't drink your wee 🤣)
Meanwhile I am googling ' 4w cramps is it miscarriage ' 🤦‍♀️🥴 why do we do this to ourselves?! Just spoke to GP who clearly thought i was a mad woman but was very reassuring though! 😂

Hadtochangeitforthis · 10/11/2022 18:01

Wow the thread got busy didn't it!! Congratulations everyone!

Following from my other post I'd been aging bloods every couple of days, a scan at around 5+3 and another next week where I'll be around 7+4 to check everything's ok.

Nothing to suggest it's not anymore spears from all the doubt and what ifs in my head! I managed to step away from testing but can't switch off the negativity yet. Hoping that next week will still be good news and that I might relax.

I'm currently resisting the urge to throw up, I suffered so badly last pregnancy with hypermesis and worried it will start again!

You might not be 17dpo. You seem to have got your first BFP on the 4th, you might have only been 9 or 10 dpo then. Unless you're completely sure when you ovulated you might be a day or 2 out.
These are my cheapies 3 days ago. The other is a Tesco cheapie. All after a 3 hour hold

I am my own worst enemy!
I know those tests are not entirely accurate, I drink so much water in the day and didn't hold it for long. I knew I shouldn't have tested.
I've confided in a friend and I am going on the 'today, I am pregnant' mantra ❤️ All the positive tests I have the baby can't just dissappear. No period means there's a baby. My hcg is enough to make all those tests positive, I need to remember that. Someone said earlier it doesn't measure how pregnant I am, but that I am pregnant. ✨ Thank you though, reassurance is really nice right now.
No more testing for me... Let's see how long this lasts haha x

Hi ladies

Had a followup scan with EPU today and unfortunately it wasn't good news. Last week they could see a pregnancy sac, yolk and fetal pole but today they could only see an empty pregnancy sac. So doing conservative management for now, have an appointment on Thursday to discuss further treatment if I need it.

Evening ladies, hoping I can join you all. I found out I was pregnant with a very faint line on 26th Oct. 6 weeks tomorrow. Early scan booked for next Saturday when I'll be 7 weeks. Doesn't feel real yet, but I am so excited. Age gap will be 2 years, almost exactly Grin

MamaSJ15 · 10/11/2022 22:32
