@Cuppasoupmonster I'm with you on the self care....feel like I've let myself go during these last weeks! I'm getting my hair done tomorrow after the longest wait ever 😊

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 16:59

Thanks guys ❤

@ancienthouse yes it's a bit confusing how they figure it out! I am reasonably happy with 1:2009 but it's just weird to think some people get such a lower risk, but I know age etc comes into it. Thanks though :)

@Cuppasoupmonster I just called up the clinic and got all my results - so pappa was 1.79 (but she said actually they worry about this being too low, rather than too high? lower than 0.49 she said is a worry). hcg was 2.21 and the nuchal measurement was 2.00mm. So I guess they're not too bad - the lady on the phone was very reassuring and I actually asked for DD's numbers too and they were super similar all round although a lower nuchal at 1.7mm. And my overall risk with her was 1:2043. The hcg was higher at 2.97 and the pappa was 1.07. Haha numbers eh! 😜🤔I had in my mind if it came back higher chance than 1:1000 I'd do NIPT so it's obviously much less (over half) so I think I need to relax... she also said they look out for more signs at the 20 week scan so we have that too I guess. I'll chat to DH but I am leaning towards not getting the nipt.

@1stimer16 that's very good advice and basically what the clinician told me today on the phone!

@Cuppasoupmonster Also YES I feel (and look) ghastly after weeks of spewing, junk food and no exercise... I had started to feel better but the last 3 day shave been a bit difficult again. Really want to incorporate brisk walking and yoga back in my life but my hips are such a mess already, I need to be careful not to over do it too fast. I have a physio appt next week so that will be good. Bath and pedi sounds great!

@cheekysausage what app did you see your testing results through?

1stimer16 · 14/10/2022 17:07

@Skylark1990 sorry just an update, it’s anything under 0.4 that is considered low, I am near 0.45 and I have been classed as low risk

xalexandra · 14/10/2022 17:08

I had my blood test for downs/edwards/pataus last Friday, when should I expect to get the results back? X

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 17:16

@Cuppasoupmonster do you know the 'norm' level(s) for hcg in the combined test?

OP posts:
Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 17:18

@1stimer16 ah yes you are right sorry - she said 0.41 to me actually, I misremembered but just looked at my notes!

1stimer16 · 14/10/2022 17:22

Also the Papp A is use to test for pre eclampsia, she said don’t google on go on forums as it will drive you mad lol

cheekysausage · 14/10/2022 17:23

@Hannah223344 my hospital uses Badger Notes to record appointments, results etc

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 17:24

@1stimer16 too late 😅forums/Google are great for so many reasons but agree - can also increase anxiety!

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 17:25

@xalexandra mine took 8 days to come back :)

OP posts:
cheekysausage · 14/10/2022 17:25

@xalexandra i had my appointment Monday and the results were uploaded today.

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 18:20

@cheekysausage yes that's a very good result - nice and low risk

DBS94 · 14/10/2022 18:28

Just catching up on todays chat! I've just looked again at my app and never even noticed the PAPP-A before and wasn't aware this is something checked. Is this for protein? My results are attached, so these seem okay for all? X

For anyone else wanting to geek out, I thought this was a good webpage: www.qmul.ac.uk/wiph/centres/centre-for-public-health-and-policy/womens-health-research-unit/antenatal-screening/screening-tests/calculating-the-risk-of-down-syndrome/

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 19:32

@DBS94 looks all fine to me! The lady today said they'd only investigate further if pappa was below 0.41

OP posts:
Tropicana1 · 14/10/2022 20:13

How long did everyone's results take to come back? I've not had my results back yet from scan last Sunday, although the midwife did say if it's all fine the letter will take a week or so to come through, if anything flags as worrying they would call sooner so I'm trying to see jt as a good sign I've not had a phone call but I just want the numbers 🤣 all I know is nuchal measurement was 1.0
Also the nurse was umming and aahing about whether she'd got enough blood because she didn't get a good draw, (I would have much prefer she'd have just stabbed me again than not have enough) so I'm worried what if there wasn't enough

DBS94 · 14/10/2022 20:29

@Skylark1990 amazing thank you x

@Tropicana1 mine took exactly a week to be uploaded x

Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 20:40

@Tropicana1 mine was 8 days in the post. 1mm is very good for NT so you'll likely be v low risk so don't worry x

OP posts:
Skylark1990 · 14/10/2022 20:42

Sorry just saw your worry about bloods. Hmmm hopefully if they didn't get enough they would have called you to come back already! 🤞🤞 You get the results soon

OP posts:
PiggyBean · 14/10/2022 20:45

@Tropicana1 I'm still waiting for my results, had my bloods taken last Wednesday. Was told I would receive a call within a few days if there was an issue so taking it as a sign that it's all good as I haven't heard from them. Otherwise it may take up to 2 weeks to receive the results by post.

Hannah223344 · 14/10/2022 20:53

@Tropicana1 I had my bloods taken on Monday - they said they'd call within a week if they came back high risk, otherwise it would be a letter, but that could take a few weeks to come

LauraA31 · 14/10/2022 21:06

Evening ladies, headaches are still strong and horrible! I’m trying my hardest to not take tablets until absolutely needed, boyfriend bought me the 4head stick and it says safe to use in pregnancy, has anybody used it before?
I think im so worried to use something especially when ive had a few little bleeds, i think im overthinking things! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Springblooms08 · 14/10/2022 21:16

@LauraA31 you poor thing. I used the 4head sticks and the cooling strips (they in particular really helped!) just rest as absolute much as you can and try to stay away from screens if possible.
