@Hannah223344 I will have flu and whooping cough in next few weeks, I need to book tho. Feel my midwife is a bit useless, she never calls me back or replies to my messages! So not sure how I'm meant to go about it.

Re covid I am also hesitant as I've had 3 jabs plus had covid twice, recently in June this year. It's a toughie but I'm not sure I want to put my body through another jab especially not right now. I reacted badly to all the jabs, basically it was like having covid for 2-3 days.

Good luck for later @LauraA31 I'm sure it'll all be ok but I'll 🤞🏻 for you and hope you have a lovely scan

Longbin · 13/10/2022 13:13

@Hannah223344 I don't think I will have the covid booster. I wanted it in my first pregnancy and wasn't allowed to have it, so that's put me off a bit. I haven't decided for sure though

Cuppasoupmonster · 13/10/2022 13:33

Hi all, back from NIPT. Scan all good and healthy little one is measuring spot on. They wouldn’t take a guess however said their insurance doesn’t allow it 😆 results should be back late next week.

cheekysausage · 13/10/2022 13:49

Fingers crossed for you @LauraA31 !! I’m sure all will be fine 💕
Congrats @Cuppasoupmonster on a healthy scan! Impatience got the better of me and I ordered the sneakpeak gender at home blood test 🤣 Bloody forgot the Royal Mail strike today tho, so guessing getting my sample back will be delayed 😤

Pommy1 · 13/10/2022 14:06

@cheekysausage that’s the one I posted in the chat as i was going to get that early on but having learned about the nhs plan for NIPT and it being so late I put the money towards that and did both. It’s so exciting isn’t it! I still can’t believe I’m having a mischievous little girl!

You should get it back next week? Eeeee! Do you have a preference? Xx

Pommy1 · 13/10/2022 14:07

Good work @Cuppasoupmonster what a great day! Xx

Pommy1 · 13/10/2022 14:07

…my only news is I finally had a number two. What a moment. I now feel fully prepared for childbirth.

Cuppasoupmonster · 13/10/2022 14:09

Honestly no preference @Pommy1 ! If it’s a little boy then it’s one of each. If it’s a girl DD gets a little sister! I just want to know so I can start choosing names and buying stuff 😆 plus we’re going to tell DD ‘you’re getting a new brother/sister’ after the 20 week scan fingers crossed, so she has a kind of solid idea of what to expect.

@cheekysausage hopefully we will both get our results soon! Do you have a preference?

Cuppasoupmonster · 13/10/2022 14:10

@Pommy1 oooooh have you been constipated? I have 😷 wait for the first poo after birth that’s always an interesting moment 😳 it honestly felt like everything was going to fall out!

Pommy1 · 13/10/2022 14:11

@Cuppasoupmonster ah, how lovely! Such fun! I was certain it was boy as was really struggling to find a name we both really liked. A girl’s name we came up with in an instant but dismissed it as were “definitely have a boy”. So that was easily sorted, I’ll have a girl then 🤣

Pommy1 · 13/10/2022 14:13

Just a lot less regular than usual. I’m usually on a food plan so I’m quite scheduled that way, but I’ve come off it Whilst pregnant so in addition to hormones I’m all over. Days will pass and I’m like hmmm, this is long! 🤣

MamaMenna · 13/10/2022 14:28

I asked my obgyn yesterday if I could get a flu jab and she told me it was too early and we have to wait a few weeks... anyone else had it already or is that normal? I'm 11 weeks. I'll get the covid jab if / when offered.

cheekysausage · 13/10/2022 14:31

@Pommy1 @Cuppasoupmonster obviously as long as I have healthy babies that’s the main thing. The preference would be boys..just because I have a 2 year old boy already and have plenty of hand me downs 🤣 This was meant to be our “cheap baby” - which sounds awful, but just in the sense of…we already have the pushchair, the high chair, the newborn car seat, clothes in all sizes. Buuuuut, now I need another car seat, a double pram, another high chair, a new car that’ll fit 3 car seats 🤣 So basically gone from being the cheap baby to the most amount of money I’m ever gonna spend 🤣

Emeal123 · 13/10/2022 14:48

@DBS94 i am 14+2 today, are you similar? Extra scan was great to see an active baby and heartbeat, she was clear that this was for reassurance and wouldn’t be doing measurements or health checks but that all looked normal. Hopefully you will feel much better after your appointment next week, I found it so reassuring just to talk through with the consultant and she was lovely! Said it’s totally normal to feel that way.

So exciting to hear what people are having! I’m going to have a scan at 16 weeks to find out the gender, almost caved and did the sneak peak but I’ve only got 2 weeks left to wait!

Cant believe we are entering/almost at the second trimester ladies! What a journey so far xx

alwaysseeingstars · 13/10/2022 14:49

@Cuppasoupmonster @Pommy1 I've been the same, doesn't help with the bloated feeling!
@Hannah223344 I've had the flu jab, just getting over Covid but am booked in for the covid jab in a few weeks - I've got a lot of health issues anyway so just don't want to risk getting as ill as I have been recently with covid in the 3rd trimester!

Hannah223344 · 13/10/2022 14:56

Thanks @alwaysseeingstars @Longbin ... @Skylark1990 I just rang my GP surgery in the end to book my flu jab in!

@MamaMenna I'll be in my 14th week when I have the flu jab so hoping that's ok, no one questioned me when I booked 😊

1stimer16 · 13/10/2022 15:15

Afternoon ladies we had our NHS scan today; all looking perfect and we received our screening results and all low risk atm!

We got another picture but looks like baby has their back to us so not sure if you can see anything nub wise…what do you think?

PiggyBean · 13/10/2022 15:16

@Hannah223344 I have my flu jab booked in with the GP next week as they were running some flu jab clinics. Other than that no other jabs booked! Will check at next midwife appointment about whooping cough etc, wasn't even mentioned at my booking appointment

alwaysseeingstars · 13/10/2022 15:22

@PiggyBean I was told that the midwife would discuss the whooping cough vaccine with me at my 16(ish) weeks appt, if that helps!
@1stimer16 lovely photo! sorry, I have no idea on the nub theory so will leave that to our resident experts 😆

PiggyBean · 13/10/2022 15:23

@alwaysseeingstars ah thanks for that! I'll ask the midwife then 😊

SavedByGraceAlone · 13/10/2022 15:24

Hi lovelies, I'm so chuffed we've made it - or are soon to make it - past the big & scary 12 week milestone! Can't quite believe the 2nd trimester is so near...

I've had a lot of period-like cramping weeks 4-10 and it seemed to have stopped weeks 11 & 12. But for the past couple of days I've had a dull, nagging pain around the cervix/uterus area. Not sure where it's coming from exactly but sort of down there, around the pubic bone area. It's not major at all, but still makes me worry! Is anyone else experiencing pains down there? If so, what are yours like?

Longbin · 13/10/2022 16:28

@Cuppasoupmonster that poo was the worst experience of my life

DBS94 · 13/10/2022 16:31

@Emeal123 I'm exactly 14+2 as well!! 🥰 I'm going to find out the gender too, can't wait! X

1stimer16 · 13/10/2022 16:34

@SavedByGraceAlone yes these pains started for me last week, apparently they are called round ligament pains and completely normal for after 12 weeks. I find if I lay with my feet raised it’s comfortable. The pains only last a few mins and then go away, happen every now and then throughout the day
