Probably time for a new thread - forgive me if I forget anyone...

@flowergarden16 ohhh 😑 try to take it easy as they said, I know it's hard, I have the same problem now while waiting for the baby to come, just can't chill and do nothing ..

I have a membrane sweep on Wednesday, hoping it will get things going 🤞🏻 Annoyingly, I woke up with a slightly scratchy throat, hoping it's a mild thing.

flowergarden16 · 14/11/2022 11:11

@Srx1 fingers crossed for the sweep and that it gets things going x

calimc83 · 14/11/2022 16:32

For those who have recently had a c sec..do they require you to remove all jewellery? My engagement and wedding ring will not budge! Sausage fingers 😆 x

arianasky · 14/11/2022 17:01

So I had had my 39 week growth scan today (38+6 ) and baby had only gone from 6lb1 to 6lb9 in three weeks so I’m being induced Saturday if he doesn’t arrive by then. I have a sweep booked for Thursday aswell to try and get things started I’m obviously overthinking everything now and worrying about the induction etc 🙈

flowergarden16 · 14/11/2022 18:01

@calimc83 they prefer you to take it off. But can tape it for you if not x

flowergarden16 · 14/11/2022 18:02

Good luck @arianasky ! I had an induction.

Just take loads of snacks if it happens and be prepared for a bit of a boring slow start although some people have it happen super fast! So close to meeting your little one now x

calimc83 · 14/11/2022 19:02

@flowergarden16 thanks! I had visions of it being cut off 🙈. How are u getting on? @arianasky oh wow not long now till u meet your little one 🤩Don't worry too much about the induction - I know it's easier said than done. My sister had a really positive experience with hers. In the meantime get walking, bouncing on a pregnancy ball. Bath with clary sage, sex if u have the energy, and loads of curries! Xx

Skl2021 · 14/11/2022 19:19

@Srx1 good luck with the sweep 🤞 x

@arianasky what a cheeky baby sounds like my max 🙈 honestly try not to get too worked up about induction. I did and then it went alot easier than I ever thought it would. Hopefully yours is straight forward and if u need pain relief ask for it! X

arianasky · 14/11/2022 22:01

@flowergarden16 thank you 💕

@calimc83 thank you, I've got all of those ready to go 😂 praying it works haha

@Skl2021 oh I know he's messing me about haha I bet he'll coke out 10lbs now after all this 😂 thank you 💕

Skl2021 · 15/11/2022 21:04

Anyone have any tips for colic? 😫 Running out of things to try! X

calimc83 · 15/11/2022 21:13

@Skl2021 oh it's the worst! Infacol? X

Skl2021 · 15/11/2022 21:27

@calimc83 it's absolutely grim. Non of my other kids had this. I'm so tired 😭 I dread the evening and nights it such a horrible thing for them to go through and your completely useless. I have tried infacol. Colief. Dentinox. Gripe water. Cuddling swaddling rocking. Even bought a baby swing today. X

barneymcgroo · 15/11/2022 22:35

@Skl2021 oh you poor thing! Really really loud white noise? (Failing that, ear defenders...?)
Get in a bath with them?

DH has had covid for the last week. Not too badly, luckily, but not been feeling his best. And now Nina's coughing and snotty, so fear she might have it too. Bleurgh.

calimc83 · 15/11/2022 22:52

@Skl2021 my first was like this. I swore by my baby carrier and putting Queen on really loud to try and drain out the crying! Normally happened around the 'witching' hour? Could he be tired and just desperate for sleep? X

Skl2021 · 15/11/2022 22:53

@barneymcgroo did that it lasted about a minute before the screaming continued 🙈 haven't done the bath yet but it's always like late evening and early hours. Not really the time for baths 🤣 it's hard enough trying to stop him waking the boys and the neighbors 🙈 oh no hope little one hasn't got it! You have done well to avoid it! My oh has just gone to bed saying he's not well and my boys have had funny tummies since they got home 🙊 going to be a long night I think!! X

Skl2021 · 15/11/2022 22:55

@calimc83 yes it usually starts after 7 ish and last night he went on until 2/3 and he was absolutely shattered 😭 just nothing we did was helping and he just couldn't fall asleep! We are looking to get a sling as we're constantly carrying him around and trying to keep him upright. Hoping it goes soon 🤞🤞 I can live in hope! X

barneymcgroo · 15/11/2022 23:09

@Skl2021 Defo get a sling - fb marketplace is brilliant for them. At least then you'd have your hands free...

OP posts:
Skl2021 · 15/11/2022 23:18

@barneymcgroo I have never had a sling that u tie? Wouldn't even know what to look for 🙊 or how to do them 🤣 I had a baby carrier for my eldest but don't think we ever used it! Yes u can get some great bargains on there! X

barneymcgroo · 15/11/2022 23:39

@Skl2021 YouTube has all the vids... I've used one with all three of mine. Great when they're tiny. And you can always sell it on if it doesn't suit. I've had three slings, still use them all for different things.

@Skl2021 we’re going through similar with Roman, cannot put him down for 10 seconds in the evening / overnight as he’s in so much pain and beside himself. We’ve been using dentinox but he’s also really sicky so after a trip to the GP we’ve been prescribed liquid omeprazole to take for reflux. Could it potentially be silent reflux in Max’s case? Xxx

speake1 · 16/11/2022 00:54

@Skl2021 we also took Roman to see an osteopath which made a huge difference to his ability to get his wind up, could be worth trying too xxx

Skl2021 · 16/11/2022 15:25

@speake1 yes I originally thought silent reflux as he's never sick but really fussy with the bottle and sometimes cries or grunts wile drinking. It's just a guessing game isn't it 🤦 might go gp as last resort. What did the osteopath do to him? Hope that stuff works and u get a break! It's exhausting isn't it xx

speake1 · 16/11/2022 16:40

@Skl2021 im not using formula atall yet but with my daughter we were combi feeding & the other thing that really really helped her was anti-reflux (or their is comfort formula for colic) formula. The difference was huge after starting that so may be one to consider if you’re doing bottles and just using the normal stage 1 formula at the moment 😊

Hard to describe what the osteopath does, or

speake1 · 16/11/2022 16:44

@Skl2021 didn’t meant to send…

hard to describe what the osteopath does, it looks like wizardry watching it… it’s basically alot of massage and manipulation focused on releasing different tensions so with going for reflux / colic he focused on all areas which are related to the intestines & showed me different massage techniques to try at home to relieve his trapped wind. You should have heard the wind coming out of him this afternoon when we were there - even if it’s effective for nothing else I’m satisfied he was happier after getting all that out 🙈He also had him standing on his head today to release neck tensions (that he says are caused by his ineffective latch due to his tongue toe) which was the most bizarre thing to see! Xxx

Skl2021 · 16/11/2022 17:43

@speake1 yes my health visitor said maybe try comfort milk but I just don't want to keep changing him all the time 🤦 it's a hard balance as his poos are normal on this milk and he doesn't struggle and he's not sick. Or she said I might need prescription like non lactose. That sounds amazing! Is it expensive and do u need lots of sessions? Can't imagine them doing headstands 🤣 did Roman like it all being done to him? X
