kate2179 · 27/02/2008 19:52

Just about to look for T Juice on ALBS' friend list, then realised ALBS has 176 friends!!! This could take a while

coolkat · 27/02/2008 19:52

Hi Ladies, could I possibly join all you strong ladies?

I had a m/c in December and have just got another BFP. It works out that I am six weeks tomorrow so still very early. I am knicker checking like mad and am paraniod about every pain.

I have one DD who is 5 and me and DH left it late to want another.

I had a blood test today to see what my HCG levels are and apart from that even though I miscarried I do not get an early scan so roll on 12 weeks.

I hope I am also in for a long and boring stay

KashaSarrasin · 27/02/2008 20:01

Oh oinker I am so so sorry I had everything crossed that this time it would work out for you. Look after yourself. xxx

Welcome jess and coolkat and congratulations on your BFPs! May your stays here is uneventful and long

Not much to report here, I'm getting used to not bleeding now, but I have so much CM I'm checking every five minutes! And I am 13 weeks today, and starting to show .

splishsplosh · 27/02/2008 20:07

Get yourself over there splish! Never too late!

Welcome coolkat, sorry you had to join us, but great news about the bfp! May I just sound a note of caution about the hcgs though? Been meaning to post this for a while actually, I may even start a thread on it cos I think it's really important.
I had a mmc in October/November so when I got my bfp this time round (last month) my GP said I could have hcg's taken for reassurance ahead of an early scan. The first test at 4+0 showed high levels, the next at 4+4 showed that the hcg was doing really well but the progesterone had dropped. 2 subsequent tests showed the hcg slowing down, still increasing but not as much as it should, then a final test showed both the hcg and the progesterone had fallen, so my GP "confirmed" the miscarriage. Had experienced a little brown spotting by then and was pretty much resigned to 2 mcs in 3 months.
The hospital wanted me to go for a scan, which I thought was a waste of time, but it showed a healthy bean with a strong heartbeat, exactly the right size for dates!!! We couldn't believe it!
I have since spoken to the nurse specialist at the hospital (whole of EPU is run by nurses for some reason) who said what happened to me is really common and not to even think about the blood results as they meant nothing once I'd had a successful scan!
She said she has seen it a lot, and I know from dealing with her when I had my mmc she isn't someone to encourage false hope.
So by all means have the tests done if you want to, but be aware that they may not mean what they appear to. I don't actually regret having mine done as that was what lead to being prescribed a progesterone supplement which may or may not be working, but I certainly wouldn't have been taking it otherwise.
Sorry for the long post, just felt it was really important to tell everyone about this. Good luck, whatever you decide!

WinkyGirl · 27/02/2008 20:43

Oinker so sorry to hear about your scan. Hope your friend can cheer you up and hope to see you back here soon.

Kate good luck for tomorrow.

I have only got 3 weeks left now. Had a bleed on Monday (my birthday!) Ended up on the labour ward for 3 hours being monitored/poked and prodded. All fine luckily and came away with a prescription to treat my raging thrush which they think caused it.
Talk about knicker checking to the very end.

TwilightSurfer · 27/02/2008 20:50

Coolkat glad you've scored another BFP. Try not to worry too much. I got pregnant 15 days after my MC and it's been TEXTBOOK all the way so far....I'm 15+3 today. Best wishes .

OINKER. Oh my I am so so sorry. My heart goes out to you it really does. Why does this shit keep happening to us all.

rainrain · 27/02/2008 20:52

Hello to KoolCat and Jess from me too. Would try to find all you ladies on facebook, but scared some of my work/pals might twig on the pg (somehow, perhaps i'm a little paranoid!). If I get past 12 weeks then will give it a go! You all sound like super hackers anyway...not sure I would find anyone! Good luck with the scan Kate.

ronshar · 27/02/2008 21:06

I have looked on Neenz facebook but because I am so rubbish I poked somebody but I have no idea who it was and now I am too scared to go back.

jess1996 · 28/02/2008 07:53

Sorry to hear your news oinker .

I am so stressed and tense at the moment. I am going for a scan in 8 days time and I feel panicked just thinking about it. Then I start worrying that I won't even get through the next 8 days (or even just today).
