ALBS and dondons found me on facebook last night but was replying and my 'puter ran out of juice so couldn't look for any others. Am rubbish at fb don't really understand it. How do you look for people when you don't know their real names?

rainrain · 28/02/2008 09:36

Jess I know what you mean, but please try to relax. Consultants couldn't find anything (obvious) wrong with me in the first round of tests which has caused the m/c's, but I know at that time in my life my job was more than stressful, and then the added stress of a pg after m/c sent me over the edge a bit!

I have no medical basis, but I am fairly certain the stress really didn't help matters. Since then I have jacked in my job and work a more relaxed part time at home, get more sleep and generally try (!) to chill more. So fingers crossed.

Quite a few people I know who have been through recurrent m/c, or problems with IVF found that acupuncture really helped their stress levels - more than one have said they ended up having successful pregnancies after it. Again, not medical science, but anything to chill you out....

perkypopsy · 28/02/2008 10:13

Hi Jess it is a realy stressful time - and I like you have wondered how I am going to get to my scan date (3.5 looooong weeks away) - never mind get through the next few days. I have also (like rainrain) handed in my notice on a very stressful job - not great timing but I keep reminding myself that in the hell of the PG, MMC and then TTC last year - my job was always tipping me over the edge - there just wasn't room for me to prioritise myself or my poor womb . Without resorting to daily scans I don't think there is much more we can do than come on here for a good maon and then try to pretend to be sane in RL. If you are feeling realy bad you might want to talk to a counsellor - they are really good at talking through your fears...I had one last year and it really helped - i also had reflexology - but that got very expensive and although I hate to admit to my mum being right she said now I have handed in my notice I can stop paying alternative therapist to sort my life out when I knew all along the job had to go
Sending huge hugs to you hon

ronshar · 28/02/2008 10:36

Good morning Mrs 9 weeks today.

I am feelling crap again. Yipee. Even as I sat on the loo not sure where it was going to come from I was smiling. I must be officially nuts

perkypopsy · 28/02/2008 10:55

Hiya ronny bloody hell it is my 9 week anniversary . I feel crap again today too - was very relieved to see your post on the other thread saying your symptoms are coming and going - we are like PG twins yippeee ...appart from the fact that you have a bump and huge boobs and I have nothing more than a jelly belly and weird shaped nips - sods law I'll be the person whose puppies stay the same size

rainrain · 28/02/2008 10:55

No no feeling crap IS good! I have been less queasy but officially the most tired exhausted woman in the world, starting at about lunch time each day. Its great (10 weeks today)

kate2179 · 28/02/2008 11:09

Morning!
Hope this doesn't seem insensitive after oinker's news, but after all your good wishes I wanted to let you all know my scan went really well!!
Like rainrain I am 10 weeks exactly
The sonographer found the baby immediately which was a bit of a surprise after last time... and we couldn't believe how much the baby had grown in 10 days since the last scan! We saw him laying on his back waving his arms and legs in the air!! (I say him, no idea really!) Good heartbeat and the doc checked my cervix afterwards as she said she thought that might be where the bleeding came from. All fine and she gave me some booking in forms seeing as I still haven't heard back from the midwife so now I have proper forms like a proper pregnant lady would have!! SUCH a relief! Now just have to focus thoughts and prayers on the 12 week scan & nuchal, 2 weeks tomorrow...
((hugs)) to all xx

rainrain · 28/02/2008 11:17

Fantastic news kate. Hope we both have matching pg's for the whole 40 (+!) weeks

EllieG · 28/02/2008 11:26

Great news Kate!

rainrain - many sympathies with the tiredness - first trimester is horrid for that, it will perk up, but in meantime, rest up x

oinker · 28/02/2008 11:33

Kate

Fantastic news hun.......
I am really pleased for you.

NEVER feel sorry for posting good news. You deserve this as much as anyone else. I am OK and just so pleased that all is going well.
I have all sorts of issues and I am coming to terms with them. I am slowly but surely coming to a life changing decision.
Not going to bang on about it on here. Have started a m/c thread.

Hugs to you....

Look forward to seeing pics of your beanie.

perkypopsy · 28/02/2008 15:06

Fab news katie pass some of your baby luck over here will ya

perkypopsy · 28/02/2008 15:07

oops sorry Kate - getting a bit over familiar there!
have just joined the local library after being here 5 years - so excited have a whole pile of books to read yippeeee

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 15:29

Can I come back in here?

I don't recognise many of the names, but I think some of you may just remember me as my DD is nearly nine months old, and I had two MCs between my DS who is nearly six and my DD.

Well, I got a BFP yesterday, so it looks like the roller coaster is about to begin again for me.

Not exactly planned ; periods every 7 weeks since DD was born. Still BFing, so didn't think anything of not bothering with protection two weeks into my cycle . Well I guess things have settled back to normal this month

Still trying to get our heads around it, although we have had two weeks of worrying about it as I was pretty sure I'd ovulated the day after we did the deed.

the age gap will be 17months . What am I doing? I'm 39 this year!!!!!

Bouncingturtle · 28/02/2008 15:58

Daisy - I've just spotted your message here, congrats!

alittlebitshy · 28/02/2008 16:51

welcome (back) Daisy! Congrats!
wow - that's a brave age gap, but I can imagine how close they might be when they are a couple of years older!!!

popsy argh - you;ve reminded me about my library fine. it's er £7 something (and i'm a librarian oops). I keep meaning to take them back, then i forget, over overdue, renew online and start the cycle again. It's only a 10 min walk. I must do it!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 18:16

lol alittlebitishy, we were thinking stupid, not brave

Thanks BT . how is the little one doing? I keep forgetting about the success thread and it falls off the threads I'm on list.

DD is doing great, crawling everywhere and saying mum to everyone she sees, including me thankfully

DonDons · 28/02/2008 18:23

welcome coolkat and daisy - healthy and well....

Glad you are okay Winky - do you think knicker checking ever leaves you? I think I'll be like it for life now

Ellie - you can't really look for people if you don't know their real names - you just have to go through your friend/and or groups that you know others are joined with eg I am friends with Neenz,Kate, makecakes etc so you could hazard guesses at who they are. Or, join the mumsnet group on FB and there is a thread on what people's real names are (I'm not on it though as do not want work mates to link me to mumsnet IYKWIM)

Kate

splishsplosh · 28/02/2008 18:42

Kate Gin , that's such brilliant news. Just hope my scan (in the dim and distant future) is as positive - probably have a 4 week wait as the 12 week scan is always nearer 14 for some reason.

Welcome to Lardymardy - there are probably positives and negatives to every age gap

Kate thanks for your advice about bloods. Good news about your scan. X

This is what happened regarding my blood results "Well got blood tests - Wish I hadn't. They were to begin with inconclusive I explained that I had done tests previously and had BFN and got faint BFP ob Mon but retested tues and got dark BFP. She then says you do not get false positives so would be pregnant, However the HCG levels are low so either dates are wrong or its not viable. Only time would tell, she would not refer me to EPU and there was no need to do bloods next week, I said not even to put mind at rest but no. So she wants to see me for 'chat' next week? Doesn't sound to hopeful does it?! So what will be will be."

I did a test after 1st phone call and it was positive straight the way, and my boobs are killing tonight. Anyone got anywise words? I did not like how she wanted to speak with me face to face.

Bouncingturtle · 28/02/2008 20:56

jules, that's great . I've been lurking occasionally to see how everyone has been getting on. You must be thrilled.

I won't add myself to the list just yet , but will hopefully in a few weeks.

The knicker checking has started in earnest already and I've been running to the loo all day. Someone on another thread has just asked was it a valentines night baby, and yes it was! A good angrogenous name there

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 22:04

oh, has there been any news of taichimum? She started off on my AN thread, so I'm thrilled to bits for her
