And so we continue...

OP posts:
DonDons · 25/02/2008 19:42

Hey Jules (by the way Eleanor is a lovely name) little Egg seems to have one or two quiet days a week, and on those days I also seem to have alot of stretchy aches - I've put it down to that being the day she is getting bigger for the week as she always goes back to jigging about after a quiet spell (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!).

But you know the routine...if you are worried phone the MW - that's what they are there for and by God we need the support.

Babycakes - I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and the worrying has not stopped, but taking each day at a time and giving myself milestones has helped......but mainly this thread.

DonDons · 25/02/2008 19:42

X post with TS... you see you see - it's growing days!!!

rainrain · 25/02/2008 19:55

justjules, try not to panic. I am no expert, but i certainly remember 'quieter' days with my DD on the movement front. And all sorts of aches and pains... if it continues tom. see the GP for reassurance.

spugs · 25/02/2008 19:59

jules - my mum is eleanor and my daughter is ella, its a lovely name. at 18 weeks i think its still fairly hit and miss with movements, i felt this one move loads some days and only once or twice others. remember though if your worried ring the mw and they ll listen to heart beat for you and as for pains, your growing a baby so yup you sound perfectly normal just wait till your as humongus as me with feet sticking out your side and bhs that take your breathe away. sooo much fun

mom - poor nyou, bloody placenta sorts itself out and you end up with oc (thats the itchy thing isnt it?) not long to go now though

hi toeveryone else and all the new comers, it only seems like 5 mins ago since i first came on here and now ive only got 4 weeks to go! talking about it definitly helps as does getiing through that worrying first trimester.

splishsplosh · 25/02/2008 20:07

Hi Babycakes, glad you found your way here to join in the worry and paranoia

I'm 9+1 today, m/c was at about 11 weeks - I managed to get a scan at 7 weeks which was good, but I'm betting my 12 week scan isn't till almost 14 weeks, so that's still nearly 5 weeks away - agaony to wait as constantly think things are going wrong.

I have an echocardiogram on Wednesday - do you reckon they'd be willing to do a detour and scan a bit lower as well as my heart???

ronshar · 25/02/2008 20:42

Just a little post tonight. I wanted to share my excellent news.
I had my scan this morning. I did tell a little little lie (which was encouraged by my midwife) I had to say I had a bit of low abdo pain. Anyway the good news is I have a little tiny SINGLE bean in my tummy and it has a heartbeat and everything. It wasnt too happy about doing a dance for the camera but it was all there, I could see arms & legs the head etc. Most importantly I could see straight away the heartbeat. That is all I wanted to see. So now I am very happy. Only only one and it is alive. I am measuring 7+6. So that is same as dates!

Splish, I am sorry for your loss. It must be very hard to cope without your mum. You are a very strong lady and I salute you.

Evening everybody. I am going to lie down on the sofa and rub my expanding tummy!!

sweetkitty · 25/02/2008 20:47

ronshar - great news

jules - try not to worry too much, you will get all sorts of odd aches and pains during pregnancy, just everything growing and stretching and moving out the way.

babycakes - glad you found us welcome to the mad knicker watching world

MOM - glad you are hanging on in there, take it easy

Hope everyone else is doing well too

I have booked a scan for Saturday to find out the sex of this LO, have a fair idea though, wonder if I'm correct?

splishsplosh · 25/02/2008 20:49

Fab news Ronshar! So pleased for you

kate2179 · 25/02/2008 21:25

Fantastic news Ronshar!
Great to see so many positive stories on here at the moment, really hope I'm not the one to spoil it...

Nothing to report so far today... Am going to call the EPU tomorrow to tell them about bleeding on sun and ask them if they'll scan me later in the week, preferably thurs or fri as I should be 10 weeks on thursday. Have no idea what's going on in there atm... really hope beanie is hanging in there...

Am getting a bit worried about how much clearer everyone else's scans seem to be than mine... my last was 8+4, we saw the heartbeat clearly but the rest was just a blob, couldn't make anything out and certainly wasn't dancing around... Am thinking it may have been less clear as I have a retroverted uterus so it's quite hard to see anything at all through my tummy, but that doesn't explain the lack of movement... any thoughts?

Welcome babycakes (great name!) and hope - may you have long and boring stays!

splishsplosh so sorry to hear about your mum. I don't have the words.
But I definitely think it's worth an ask when you go for your echocardiogram, as you said, you're there anyway...!

Hang in there jules - the consensus among these very wise women is that your little Ella is having a growth spurt, so really it's excellent news! Hope you're ok xx

Yep it is or so my midwife keeps trying to reassure me it depends on how they are lying and they may of course be moving when you are asleep. It's hard not to worry though I have resorted to a glass of ice cold water to make bump squirm when really anxious defiantly talk to your Midwife about your worries though

TJuice · 25/02/2008 22:57

ronshar - i am so pleased and grinning for you right now. i know how its been - we all do. that is just fab news xxx

ronshar · 26/02/2008 09:45

Kate dont worry. The only reason I was able to make out the details is because it is my third and also I am a nurse so have years of watching other people have scans etc. There wouldnt be much to move remember that baby doesnt grow arms and legs just yet, they are still 'buds'. My picture only shows a blob.
You need to try and worry about the small stuff a little less. Just wait until you have an arm sticking out under your ribs and a leg placed firmly in your bladder 24 hours a day. Now that is something to really complain about.
We will all get there.

rainrain · 26/02/2008 09:47

Do any of you know from what stage you can pick anything up on a doppler?

ronshar · 26/02/2008 09:53

I have just bought one from ebay. It said one the site that this one can pick up from 10weeks. However I received it in the post and it said on the package that it can be used in last trimester. As only 8weeks I shall wait the lonnnnnnnggggggg 2weeks before I try it.
I did borrow one for my last pregnancy and it worked from about 16weeks. But then I didnt use it before then. HTH

EllieG · 26/02/2008 10:03

Fab news about scan ronshar!

Hello to everyone else

rainrain · 26/02/2008 10:03

Thanks Ron. Was wondering about renting one, to ease the next 3 weeks till i get a scan.... But i guess if I try it too early, and can't hear anything, I will just panic then too!

rainrain · 26/02/2008 10:07

Wonderful about your scan too Ronshar (i meant to say!). You can relax a bit now!

And could you hear something from 11 weeks then Jules?

perkypopsy · 26/02/2008 10:46

Morning knickercheckers

Congrats ronny - such a relief - just another four agonising weeks to go

Been feeling miz about my job situation - have to just wait and see what happens but will only have 2 months left in current job by the time I have my 12 week scan so is very worrying not being able to sort it all out now. Am tempted to tell new boss but I know that is just to make me feel better - have to just hang on in there and hope he re-employs me asap with no break in service so I get my maternity (have crossed everything for my little pea so i think that counts for the job too )

Went to docs for booking appt today - got my NHS forms signed but no midwife - they have changed it now so you don't see her til 25 weeks . However the dotty pair i saw last time was less than useless so not such a bad thing I suppose. Looking forward to hearing how the dopplers go - I am still tempted to pay for a 10 week scan - but I change my mind everyday...
Just spoken to my friend and she is PG too and seem like we might be same dates I am actully gutted as she and 2 other best friends were PG when I lost the last one and really didn't want to have that pressure again ho hum - hopefully it'll go swimmingly for both of us and we can swan around upper st together

going to try to do some work today but is VERY hard to concentrate when you spend entire time symptom checking and have only half your brain anyway

oinker · 26/02/2008 11:41

Good morning ladies...

We're having a run of good news lets hope it keeps up...

I have my scan in the morning and am already feeling quite nervous about it.
Though doc said brown discharge was OK i still find it worrying.
Though the discharge is very light and bitty it is still there. I just waNT IT TO STOP.......

Hope123 · 26/02/2008 13:25

Hi Babycakes..I think I am due on the 8th October. I did ask my doctor but she said I needed to have 3 m/c before they would consider a early scan..I thought waiting would be more pleasant!

I'm in the same week as my m/c last time so I've been going on and on about the pregnancy to my husband through absolute fear, driving him mental!
I do feel more postivie about things this time as my symptoms seemed to disappear last time but this time I feel so queasy and exhausted there just has to be something going on in there :-)

Neenzandhertwinbeans · 26/02/2008 13:34

Yes Kate, NK are my initials - everyone come and be my friend on Facebook!!!

Ronshar - can't believe they are not twin beans!! Congrats on the scan

makecakesnotwar · 26/02/2008 15:17
