Oops - meant to say more than that....... start again

Happy Birthday TS

Kate - sorry you are having another rough day.... don't worry about only having a scan last week - get yourself to the hospital if it will help. Are you stuck in the hotel again next week? Hope you have a good supply of chocolates.

I'm on FB and love it but joined the group then scarpered straight back off again...don't want people from work tracking me down on mumsnet and finding out stuff that might be in the long run.

Makecakes - lol at your 'criptic clue' post on FB though

splishsplosh · 24/02/2008 21:24

Happy birthday TS, hope you've had a lovely day and been thoroughly spoilt

Kate - sorry to hear you're worried, you're right, it really is tough. My symptoms (such as they were) seem to have faded and I'm plagued with thoughts that maybe even though my miscarriage started with bleeding a few days before I was 11 weeks, that baby could have died earlier, like around now...

My mum died a year ago last Thursday, I seem to be spending half my time in tears, I wish I could just take my brain out and have a holiday from my thoughts! I want to feel happy and carefree - anyone got a magic solution?

perkypopsy · 25/02/2008 08:38

Morning ladies
What a load of posts - have just about caught up!

Beckle Hello lovely lady - you have your DD now - what a long journey - I hope I can be there one day too . How is it going? Tell me it is all worth it???

I'm okay - HATE coming to work as is my last week in my current role - I'm seeing out my notice in another dept thank the lord! Was sick as a dog yesterday so that was great . Couldn't face anything except a thin and crispy pepperoni passion with extra olive (large ) - wolfed it down like a dog eating hot chips - I was disgusted with myself but DH says it was good to see me enjoy some food for once.

splishy, kate oinker ronny WE HAVE TO HOLD IT TOGETHER LADIES WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still thinking of having another scan at 10 weeks - hoping will feel more chilled about it then but not sure. We are getting more attached to our little pea everyday which makes me worry about the fallout should everything go wrong again. As it was a MMC last time I haven't worried about bleeding at all - would be gobsmacked if it happened - idiot!

neenz I too was trying to guess your name but no luck - trust clever clogs ronny to get it right! I am going to look on FB for you all - now my pics are on here maybe everyone at work knows - am trying not to give a shit as I'm leaving anyway .

MCNW derrrrr I didn't know you were flossy yaaaaaay is like meeting another extra friend again

dondons your name reminds me of bonbons mmmmm (having a non sick morning ). Love the photo - get you all sleek and with a pert bump - just like neenz cowbags! My junk food binging has meant I have developed a jelly like tyre bugger!- had to roll my tights down under my belly cos made a double roll ughhhhhh.

LOVE the names ladies - my sis is called Elinor (been in family for years) and my god daughter is called Evie - and Ella is just gorgeous Jules!!

Going to try to wean myself off posting all day - don't laugh!

EllieG · 25/02/2008 09:13

Just skimmed through and saw lots of posts saying 'Eleanor is lovely!'
Why yes, I am. Thank you for noticing

Is also v good name for jules' baby x

Hello to everyone - hugs to kate and instructions to take it easy as possible

nh - namechange? Got confused. Can I be your friend on facebook too?

makecakesnotwar · 25/02/2008 09:32

Morning popsy! You do make me laugh...

Kate, Oinker, Ronnie and others- keeping evrything crossed for you. Remember "Healthy and well"

And belated birthay wishes to TS. By my next birthday I'll be a mummy....how cool is that???

Off to FB to track you all down...though Kate has already found me, clever girl. Maybe we should have a thread on MN FB.....

rainrain · 25/02/2008 09:48

Morning all

JustJules yes just aspirin. They didn't find any problems with the tests (although they 'forgot' to test for anticardiolipids (?not sure I got that right!). They said to take aspirin anyway, it can't hurt.

Not sure when danger point is as they were all different - 1st @ 7 weeks (v. early failure - blighted ovum?). 2nd I lost at 11 weeks, but I am fairly sure that it was missed a couple of weeks before (didn't get a scan at all with that one)... and 3rd at 9 weeks but they said that development stopped at more like 7.

Am now 9+4. Had scan at 7+5 (all ok), but still find hard to relax as my 'symptoms' seem to have stopped/changed on about 8+6...hard to be positive when that happens.

Funny thing is with my DD I hardly had any symptoms that I can remember, but lived in blissful ignorance - not analysing everything to this extent

kate seems like we are on exactly the same timescale - 10 weeks for me too on Thurs. Hope you are ok sounds really tough.

Sorry long post!!

TJuice · 25/02/2008 09:48

oh splish - so sorry about your mum. its a rough time but try and be positive. got my fingies crossed for you and everyone who is in the nervous zone at the moment.

We can do it and we're going to. We are the big-pants-mc-avengers-brigade and we have to stick together!

TJuice · 25/02/2008 09:55

actually, we are not the mc avengers brigade.
hormone brain just got her threads mixed up . . .

but the principle is the same!!!

rainrain · 25/02/2008 10:18

Just read your post Splish too...sounds doubly hard for you with the anniversary and everything. Am right with you on the symptom thing... helped me a bit reading on interweb that lots of people get a 'leveling off' of the hormones which eases some symptoms, around now. (??)

EllieG · 25/02/2008 10:33

Most of us are the Big pant wearing MC avengers brigade too though - or have been at some point

DonDons · 25/02/2008 13:41

mmmmmmmmmm bonbons.... must go to shop....

am off work as sooooo tired today after waking up at 4am and having a nose bleed. Not had that since I was about 10 and can't say it was particularly enjoyable. Didn't go back to sleep after that. Guess it's all training or something.

Splishy - sorry to hear about your Mum... hugs

Have sent some friend requests on FB...hope no-one minds...

becklespeckle · 25/02/2008 14:05

Popsy, it is soooo worth it! (and it will be you soon, I have a good feeling!) I doubt I will ever forget the heartache I went through or the babies I lost but Evie makes the present and future bright again. She smiled at me yesterday and for the first time kicked her legs with excitement when I went to pick her up, I feel she has healed my heart.

EllieG · 25/02/2008 14:09

Oh beckle am welling up now....it's so lovely to hear

becklespeckle · 25/02/2008 14:12

How are you Ellie? Only a few more weeks to go for you! Hows it going? x

EllieG · 25/02/2008 15:14

I'm fine thanks beckle - quite weirdly energetic at the moment, think am having a last little spurt before the tiredness of new babydom sets in! 3 and a half weeks left at work and 7 and a half til due date so tis the final countdown. Can't WAIT to meet my LO. Keep having dreams where I've put her down and lost her or forget to feed her or whatever, but think that is just psyche feeling a wee bit anxious. Am dying to see what she looks like

babycakes26 · 25/02/2008 16:42

Hey Ladies
I feel like the latecomer at a party here but really wanted to join the thread - hope you don't mind a newbie? I am 8.3 wks pregnant having suffered 2 mcs in the last 3 years (one at 13 weeks and one at 10 weeks). As you can all imagine I am now entering that terrible zone of 'is it all going to go wrong again?' having 'survived' the early weeks so far.

I had a scan at just under 7 weeks and all seemed to be going well healthy sac and yolk and a strong little heartbeat so feeling encouraged. Got another scan in 2 weeks which seems an age away though and I have just had a nightmare weekend of mild stomach pains and slight spotting (lots of paranoid knicker checking!!) which seems to have stopped for now so I suppose I am just looking for some friendly female reassurance and as you all seem so nice this seemed like a good place to start!

Hope you are all well today :-)

Hope123 · 25/02/2008 16:57

Hi Babycakes!

I'm 8 weeks too and wishing I could have an early scan as I have had a m/c recently but my doc said no :-( So we are being patient but so far so good!

I'm sure things will be ok for you, knowing that all was well on the scan must be a huge relief..I had some cramps early on,some spotting is supposed to be common, the waiting is agonising though eh?

MerlinsBeard · 25/02/2008 17:00

letting u all know i am still here.

I have OC (have i already said that?) so in and out of hosp to be monitored. will see consultant wednesday who will hopefully decide when and how baby will arrive!

has mrsmc done a birth announcement yet? have seen her around on bf threads

babycakes26 · 25/02/2008 17:03

Hey Hope
Yes if only time could pass at the speed of light for the next few weeks! Glad all is going well so far for you - what date are you due then - pretty much around the same time as me (4th Oct) I reckon? As I described to my BF today the waiting is mental torture following the mcs so I can relate to how you feel! I did feel reasured by the early scan though so it is just a question of taking the next few weeks easy...is there no way you can push your doc???

oinker · 25/02/2008 17:19

Welcome babycakes...

You are in the right place. Everyone on here understands what you are going through.

I am at a recurrent m/c clinic so get scanned every week. I can't imagine what it must be like waiting 2 weeks plus for a reassurance scan. It really pisses me off when I read that docs have said NO to an early scan. WHAT'S THEIR PROBLEM? was someone they knew I bet it would get done.
Don't worry about the spotting babycakes. I have had brown discharge from BFP day. Have had two scans and all is progressing well. I am 6+2 today so still very early. This is my danger time though so am knicker checking like a woman possessed.
I am sure you will be fine. Try and take it easy.
I have been signed off work until 10th March.
Will hopefully still be holding onto beanie for a long while after that. If so plan on staying off until at least 3 months....

DonDons · 25/02/2008 17:23

welcome babycakes

I was refused an early scan too...and agree the waiting drives you mad. All I can say is this is the best place to rant and rave - of course we are all slightly insane here but that's due to knicker gazing so much. Healthy and well and uneventful pregnancies to you all....

rainrain · 25/02/2008 18:26

Hi babycakes. I reckon they should make it mandatory to have early scans if you have had 1 m/c or more! The stress and anxiety can't be good for anyone, esp. the little ones inside...

babycakes26 · 25/02/2008 18:31

Oh oinker that sounds great getting scanned every week great reasurance and thanks for your words ref: discharge :-) I'm holding on and keep putting those white knickers on

Thanks too DonDons makes it so much easier having someone who truly understands to talk to! How far gone are you?

Justjules...I'm right behind you at 15+2 today and I've had the low pains too then notice a few days later I've grown. This is basically my second time around so growth seems to be sooner that with DD. I just rest when it happens.
