And so we continue...

OP posts:
ronshar · 22/02/2008 14:48

Rainrain, if you are concerned get to your GP. With your recent history you are classed as a priority pregnant lady. You should be able to get a scan or at least some bloods done. Also dont forget most early symptoms do calm down fairly quickly. Fingers crossed.

ALBS, how are you? Long time no see! Please be careful were you drop your trousers your DH has a very responsible job you know.

Stop talking about chocolate. Please I will be sick.

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 15:05

i can't feel anything ronny though as I said I haven't really had a poke around to be honest - sounds like you might have a double pipper in there
I am trying to do some work and failing miserably have no ability to concentrate or to be bothered to be honest...

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 15:07

p.s. how's the hair? Can you have highlights when PG (thinking of all those photos of JLo and her roots in Heat given as evidence of her PG)

EllieG · 22/02/2008 15:13

Yes course you can. It's just your hair changes condition and they might not take as well. I have highlights and ain't giving em up no never

makecakesnotwar · 22/02/2008 15:16

WIth you there Ellie- I'm at the hairdrssers every ten weeks, baby or no baby...

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 15:16

phew!

ronshar · 22/02/2008 15:26

I think they dont recommend you have peroxide as the hormone changes can make them go green. Do you remember Home and Away. Irenes hair
Has anyones hair gone like straw yet?? Mine has. This pregancy is making me go grey.

Right thats two things you are not allowed to mention. Chocolate and Twins.

EllieG · 22/02/2008 15:41

My hair is weird. Can't get it to look nice and is not as curly as was before, just messy. Hoping it does not stay like this.

ronshar · 22/02/2008 15:50

Oh well Ellie you can look forward to when it all starts to fall out.

Popsy dont forget my body is all slack from being stretched already. I have very little abdo strength left. I shall look like a whale soon no doubt.

rainrain · 22/02/2008 16:09

Thanks Ronshar. My GP has been great, but he even had trouble getting me the early scan (had to name drop the consultant I saw after last referral etc etc) so I am not sure they will see me before the dating scan unless i get more obvious problems...Just got to chill out i guess

EllieG · 22/02/2008 16:23

Easier said than done rainrain - chill out here all madness is allowed

rainrain · 22/02/2008 16:34

Glad to be here! Sometimes its ok, then you get the crazy days. It's the not knowing that I hate wish i could see inside there every day...

alittlebitshy · 22/02/2008 16:52

Ronshar lol at me dropping my knicks to have a quick check just as a parishioner knocks at the door. lol lol lol.

Highlights. mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Last had mine done in August, and they are deffo due again but I am paranoid. I know it's all about it poss going dodgy for my hair, but part of me panics that the baby might suffer. and I feel like i've waited so long for this baby.....

I wish I wanted chocolate. I'm starting to feel a bit less sick sometimes (well, no, i'm actually eating my way through the nausea now) but stil don't fancy choccie. I need to get a stash of mini egss and creme eggs for when i do feel like it so that i don't totally miss them for a year. I did manage to demolish a lot of a pack of fudge i bought dh for xmas (it was still in the kitchen until this week ). I was very proud cos it was the first "normal" thing I've devoured in a while. Dh wasn't quite so impressed .

Rainrain Good to "meet" you. Sounds like you have had a hard year. I had 2 m/cs last year and am stressed enough now. Does your dd know about any of your problems? My dd is totally oblivious. We told her about the baby on Monday (was 16+1) and she is thrilled (she is 4.9) but a big part of me is extra scared cos if somehting goes wrong now, i can't shield her.

KashaSarrasin · 22/02/2008 17:25

Wow it's been busy on here today!

Welcome rainrain - I'm a big believer in reassurance scans if you're really worried. I had a few symptom "days off" around 9 weeks that freaked me out a bit, but then the nausea and fatigue came back with a vengeance!

oinker fingers crossed that everything's OK for you now.

I had my nuchal scan this morning - everything is absolutely fine, we saw a 6.5cm baby dancing and waving at us, and the combined results came back as 1:16000 for Downs and 1:50000 for Edwards which is a huge relief! I'm measuring slightly ahead (12+4) but I know for certain that I can't have conceived before Dec 12 which makes me 12+2. DH claims he saw a willy on the scan but I'm certain it was the cord (he said the same thing at DS's 12 week scan, and as he turned out to be a boy he now thinks he's right, sigh...)

I'm starting to feel properly pregnant now, I think we're going to start telling people soon, otherwise they're going to guess when they see the size of my belly, I'd rather they knew I was pg than just thought I was fat! .

nh101andhertwinbeans · 22/02/2008 17:49

Congrats Kasha! I'd say you can relax now but I have been there and you don't really relax just cos you had a good 12 week scan. But it's better than a bad 12-week scan so try hard to relax!

Welcome rainrain, I think your symptoms going a bit better at this stage is normal, I remember I felt a bit less tired and sick around that time, and by 11 weeks I felt hugely better - thank goodness!

Ronshar - twins! Oh yes I felt terrible in first trimester, didn't feel hardly any MS with first baby that MC'd at 10+4 but this time around it was awful. I felt like I had lived on McDonald's for six months eg totally devoid of any goodness/nutrition inside me. The babies were taking it all!

I'm still having my hair dyed and I've got half a bar of Dairy Milk to go home to tonight - yum! I even treat myself to half a glass of white wine at the weekends now and it is SO GOOD! I figure with two babies in there the alcohol is shared between them

Makecakes - can't say I can say for certain that it feels like there are two babies in my tum. Obviously I will probably be getting double to kicks but often it is not clear which baby it is. I do get kicks ALL the time though, so I think while one is sleeping the other is awake!

TJuice · 22/02/2008 17:59

hey kasha and ladies

ronshar - my hair seems to be getting greyer. its thick though. and my last highlights came out slightly more orangey than "caramel". oh well.

hi rainrain!

Hope123 · 22/02/2008 18:17

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and so anxious about things as I have previously had a m/c.But, so far so good apart from feeling sick as a dog and having to run around after a toddler and baby I feel like things are going really well. Am a bit concerned that I'm bursting out of my jeans already..look like Ive been at the pies!

DonDons · 22/02/2008 18:31

took me ages to catch up and it's only been 24 hours!

welcome rainrain and hope - here to uneventful and healthy and well pregos for both of you.

are we all having girls or what? Can't remember any boys........hmmmmn wait a minute - NH you have at least one boy - phew! potential husband for all our girls!

REQUEST - perlease stop talking chocolate......am dying here in stupid self inflicted 'not eating chocolate for lent' hell........

anyway, have finally uploaded a picture of my massive self - not usually as miserable looking but was taken this morning before facing 7.5 hours of work.........nowhere near as glam as Popsy or Ellie 'Rachel' G

rainrain · 22/02/2008 20:02

Thanks for all the hello's everyone. And the reassurance. After my posts did get a bit of the 'afternoon' sickness I have been experiencing and had to eat some sweets (find that helps!) - so fingers crossed!

AlittlebitShy - no we haven't told her yet (she is same age as yours - 5 next month!). I did tell her on the 2nd one, but then when it went wrong I just told her that we tried, but the baby didn't grow - she seemed to accept it ok, quite practical. But then that was about a year ago, and they come on such a lot in a year don't they? Not sure it would be so easy this time to explain....w

splishsplosh · 22/02/2008 21:30

rainrain, I've been feeling paranoid too the last couple of days, as I don't feel so tired, and have lost even the queasy feeling, and the dislike of proper food that I had. It still hurts to bf though. I'm 8+5, scan was ok at 7 weeks, but mc was around 11 weeks, so feeling like it's going to be like last time.

Oinker, it must be a stressful time for you - hope you get a chance to put your feet up and take care of yourself and beanie

EllieG · 22/02/2008 21:38

Hello Hope! Good name for this thread

dondons - fab bump lady though am very at you looking all slim but just with lovely bump at front. I look NOTHING like my pics anymore as am currently size of small elephant, Ellietheelephant will in fact be my new talk name soon. But will be worth it for the LO! And when the BF is established can sign up for weightwatchers I guess (sigh).

Have good weekends all! x

oinker · 23/02/2008 08:50

....Splishsplosh

Everyone on here can understand how you are feeling hun. All you can do is take things one day at a time. I am sure you will be fine. Sometimes we think too much about the symptoms of pregnancy. Remember a lot of women get no symptoms at all.
This is out of our control..A greater being rules. We can only do what we do best and that is to take good care of ourselves. That way beanie gets the best care too.

)))))))))))))))))HUGS(((((((((((((((((((((((

TwilightSurfer · 23/02/2008 12:47

{Twilight raises hand} I'm having a boy.

OP posts:
Jacwac · 23/02/2008 15:58

Splishsplosh & rainrain, I'm the same, not feeling nearly as tired. My mc was at 9+6, which is where i'll be tomorrow with this preg, and am just having to distract myself from worrying. Which is bloody hard. Knicker-checking is almost an obsession...

Neenzandhertwinbeans · 23/02/2008 16:06

Hey everyone - I changed my name!! Neenz is more like my real name...
