Thank you for lovely posts

Am HUGELY itchy today...getting worse so i will mention it at ADU tomo.

yep i get to see LO a wee bit earlier, not worried about extra monitoring, its unavoidable really. Not really a chore either seeing as i live a tem min walk from the hosp lol!

Growth scan 2mo and ADU for bloods and monitoring on CTG. Will get them to chase up liver scan as have heard nothing.

So i suck do i??

ronshar · 20/02/2008 20:56

We are all completely insane. I think I will give my little bean a good talking too a soon as it gets here. All the stress and worry. We will all be old a grey soon.

I have a scan booked for monday. I really want to have a scan as untill then I will worry my body is telling me lies like last year. I dont ever want to go to a scan and find no baby there again. The only problem is now I am going to be getting more wound up about the scan than the baby IYSWIM.

Poor MOM. I dont think you suck, you may be flaky from all the scratching, but not sucky. Wow you get to meet you little miracle in TWO weeks. TWO WEEKS. Yipee.

No sex, I dont think I could cope. I always get completely hormonally rampant while pregnant. My DH loves it. I think it is the breasts.
Oinks at least everything is exactly where is should be. We can stress about our scans together!

Sorry David Tennant came on the television, I am watching Brit awards. Got a bit carried away.

oinker · 21/02/2008 09:19

Kate...........

It will only get easier when we have our baies in our arms... Until then, it'll be one drama after another....We are all here for each other and that is how we will get to our goals.
Fingerscrossed the red spotting has ended. I am still getting the dark brown discharge. I was told by doc yesterday that if I bleed there would be no doubt in mind it is bad as I am on aspirin and heparin. Aparently I would bleed quite a bit.... I hope not to experience that....

Enough talk about sex ladies... I woke up quite horny this morning and DH had fortunately gone to work oterwise ther would have been a bit of a dilemma...

DonDons....
I was one step ahead this year I gave up alcohol for lent....LUCKY EH? Fancy picking chocolate!!!! NEVER...

EllieG · 21/02/2008 09:51

jules is on heparin and has had LOADS of bleeding - I think makes you bleed more if you are. If that makes any sense.

nh101andhertwinbeans · 21/02/2008 12:54

Hi all, sorry to hear of bleeding Oinker. My SIL is now 22 weeks PG and had very heavy bleeding throughout the first trimester. Sending good vibes your way.

The first trimester is so hard after a MC, and I didn't even feel confident after the 12 weeks scan (which actually took place at 14 weeks). Until I could feel movement I just thought nothing was happening inside me.

I actually felt movement from about 13 weeks but wasn't sure it was the babies and it was so intermittent that on the days when I didn't feel anything I just though 'my babies have died' MC does terrible things to you!

So I sympathise totally with everyone going though the early weeks. Just try to stay positive and when you think 'I just don't feel PG any more' ignore it cos you probably still are!!

MerlinsBeard · 21/02/2008 14:35

scan today showed a healthy 6lb 4 baby hiding in there making me itch

All is well, back on Sat for more monitoring

Sorry for being completely selfish ta the moment. I am soooo tired and my world is revolving around who is doing the school runs with DS1, where DS2 will be and when my appts are and with whom and in which part of the hospital!!!!

perkypopsy · 21/02/2008 15:42

Hi ladies I love this thread cos we are all at different stages so there is loads going on - including all the positive stories that keep me going!

nh101 As usual I have been feeling everything you described! I started off feeling pleased that I don't have the same cramps as with the MMC but now I have on and off symptoms and when they are off I immediately think my baby has died. It is such relief to get a sudden wave of nausia or exhaustion or to feel a sore boob when rolling over in bed at night . I wish I had a scanner at home so I could put my mind at rest but have a feeling would get completley obsessive (like TomKat?) and not be able to leae the house

Did you start feeling your babies moving so early cos they are twins or is that normal - ooh if I make itthrough that is something to look forward to!!

Kate sounds like a complete nightmare - you are being so strong am very proud of you! I have come home today cos my boss is harrassing me and have decided me and the pea are more important. I am still doing the prog tabs - a bit icky if you ask me - have gone off sex and am sure it is cos is all white and powdery down there ughhhhh. Am ashamed to admit we've only done it once since we found out (2 weeks ago ) I just feel worried that will do something bad even though I know is not true... poor DH - will have to try to get my pecker up so to speak or should that be his

To end on a positive note I am 8 big fat weeks today yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. DH and I have a nightly ritual of rubbing my tummy and saying "come on pea you can do it" very sad but somehow makes us feel better!

nh101andhertwinbeans · 21/02/2008 15:57

Oh Popsy that is so cute about rubbing your tummy it made me want to cry. I kept poking my boobs during the first trimester and saying 'yes, still sore!' I always found it a relief to feel terrible, which I did - awful in fact (cos its twins) - until 11 weeks when suddenly I felt better (therefore making me think it was the end)

I also had the urge to go for private scans or get a doppler but in the end I didn't cos I am too tight and I suppose I didn't want to know if it was bad news. I was also scared that sex was bad so if it makes you feel better to abstain then I am sure your marriage will survive! I felt really horny though so I went for it but then always felt guilty afterwards thinking I might have done something to hurt the babies!

The thing with a twin PG is all the books say "sex is safe in a low-risk pregnancy" but twins is a high-risk pregnancy and they don't tell you what to do then! They also say you may want to abstain if you have a "history of MC" - but what's a "history" - is it one, two MCs? If you have had one MC you don't want that to turn into "a history"! MW always said sex was OK though, evidently it was. If you are gentle the beans like it!

Yes, I think I felt movement early because it was twins. I think 18 weeks is normal in a slim-ish woman with her first baby (a bit later if you are bigger). I didn't feel constant movement till 17 weeks. Before that it was intermittent although DH did feel kicks at 17 weeks if he waited long enough with his hand on my tum!

EllieG · 21/02/2008 16:42

I didn't feel movements that early but I am ahem, quite well padded. Still love it when I feel her wiggle - even when is uncomfy I love having that reassurance.

MOM - glad all is well and your baby is growing nicely. You are not being selfish at all, so put that right out of your head young lady.

nh101andhertwinbeans · 21/02/2008 17:35

Wow, Ellie, just checked out your profile - you look nothing like I imagined (and you are NOT well padded!). I think I imagined you'd be brunette. The pics are lovely.

Have you got a name yet? My baby boy is going to be called Theo and we like Esther for a girl. We like Noah and Gabe for another boy.

kate2179 · 21/02/2008 17:41

Popsy at you feeling bad for making DH wait 2 weeks. I am (god willing) 9 weeks today. We found out when I was only 3 weeks and 4 days and (as far as I remember, so long ago...) we last 'did the deed' 2 days before that, so that's nearly 6 weeks I've kept him waiting, and I don't even feel bad! (Am clearly a very bad wife ) Am comforting myself with the thought that when we were trying he had more sex than he's had since we first got together, over 6 years ago

No more bleeding (yet) (scared of jinxing it by saying things like that!) but been quite paranoid today. I have a silly question. About a week ago I noticed my tummy had got a little harder about where the baby is - ie where they scan. Kind of like the very beginnings of a little mini-bump... So I was thrilled to take that as a sign things were progressing. Since then I've been quite constipated ( TMI) and where I've been away from home since tuesday I've not been eating too well so I'm quite bloated & feeling very fat. My mini-bump doesn't feel quite as obvious as it has done and I don't think it's got any bigger. To panic or not to panic?? Thank you!

kate2179 · 21/02/2008 17:45

cross posts nh101 - great names! Will you find out whether twin 2 is a boy or a girl or leave it as a surprise? (Sorry if I've got it wrong & you already know) Would love to know whether my LO is pink or blue - think the birth itself will be surprise enough for me! Besides, I'd like to know who I'm talking to in there

nh101andhertwinbeans · 21/02/2008 17:50

We will find out the sex of twin 2 on March 6 (hopefully) when we have our next scan.

I think constipation is a good sign - shows the progesterone is working its wonders! (I think its the progesterone that does it) My advice is lots of wholemeal bread (6 slices a day of 3g fibre per slice really gets you on your way) and dried apricots which I think are delicious, very sweet and full of goodness!

Definitely NOT to panic!

perkypopsy · 21/02/2008 18:15

ahhhhhhh ...popsy comes too after 3 hour snooze sesh on sofa - it's dark!!!

nh lush names - am not thinking of any this time til god ...it's born cos we lost our favs with the last one (just doesn't seem right to recycle). So reassuring to hear your stories - makes me feel more sane (or at least less insane ) - looking forward to having some wriggling - not sure how to classify my body sice this ttc lark started...short and substantial

kate Is far TMI for all these nice ladies but I too have been ..ahem...slower thn usual - am sure is progsterone cos I was super reg when first got BFN (is one of my PG spotting symptoms). Problem is I usually eat tons of whole grains and fruit and veg but have no appetite for them at mo - have decided pea knows best

ellie am off to look at your pics - have a feeling you are blonde - maybe I have seen them before? I can never manage to put pics up - would only spend ages trying to find a nice enough one - you know the kind where your dh doesn't recognise you

perkypopsy · 21/02/2008 18:16

p.s.kate think it is still early for you to have a bump? I thought that it had to come up over the pubic bones before you could see/feel one but I may be wrng. Your inflated tum is likley due to change in hormones too?...popsy dashes off to look at herself sideways in mirror....

DonDons · 21/02/2008 18:32

nh - love the names too...still not decided for def on ours although fairly sure what it will be.... but for some reason don't want to tell people in case I jinx us [mental knicker checker mentality]

popsy - I felt egg move at 16 weeks and has been constant since then

kate2179 · 21/02/2008 18:44

Popsy will try to explain "bump"... Can't see it in the mirror, even sideways but can feel it when I'm standing up (though not when Ilaying down which I suspect may be due to retroverted uterus). Basically, my tummy goes out under my belly button as normal (food baby not baby baby!) But then it kind of feels like it goes in a little then comes out again a little lower down where the baby is... (or was... no, positive thinking, where the baby IS) Does that make any sense? ...

EllieG · 21/02/2008 20:36

Why thank you nh, but those are rather flattering pics, and, if you notice, taken from waist up only. I was a little less padded then. Now I am extremely and no one is allowed anywhere near me with a camera.

kate - I got a 'bump' quite early - I think was most likely constipation/bloating. However, these are a good sign as pg slows digestive system down and leads to both. Plus you will also be retaining water, and that may be contributing to bump. (Also good sign). So all reasons for bump good!

I can't see my feet now when I stand up. And I can't use the muscles where my abs used to me without much discomfort. Hey-ho. Will be worth it in the end!

TJuice · 21/02/2008 21:46

hi ladies

been a while but i have been lurking.
feeling okay right now but kind of emotional and having nightly blubs. but had my acupuncture today which probably sorted me out a bit. i am gettig there with the old bump ( i took a pic this morning and will put it up) but its mainly pigginess as I can still pinch the inches. actually have to cut down a bit as i have been scoffing and i think may have gained a bit too quickly (almost a stone now and I am 22 weeks today). other women on my antenatal thread have gained like 3 lbs - its sickening.

i keep trying out different names on her - so far had eloise, summer, zaylie, tallulah but my dp only likes eloise. i guess we will wait till she comes out and see. my mum likes clementine (clemmie for short, darling!) which is just hideous.

anyway, looking forward to another dry weekend of sorting out the house and preparing. sex is the only fun thing to do these days . . .i keep meeting friends for coffee or tea but really i would love a few glasses of wine - have been so abstemious and only had a few sips since the beginning.

anyway, hope you are all well.
popsy - that is so cute about your tummy rub and well done for getting to 8 weeks. so fab!

kate2179 · 21/02/2008 22:07

Oinker how you doing? Really hope the spotting has stopped & that your beanie is going strong. I know next wednesday is a long time coming. I may see if I can have my next scan then too, crises permitting! Justjules had A LOT of red bleeding earlier in her pg, she is on heparin so think that contributed to the fact it was a lot of blood, but she is doing really well, I think she is about 17 weeks now! Really so so hoping that will be us . (((hugs))) to you xxx

nh101andhertwinbeans · 21/02/2008 22:35

Hey Tjuice - have you consider Thalia as a name? I think it is really pretty but DH doesn't like it.

perkypopsy · 22/02/2008 08:11

kate you are braver than me - don't dare prod anything "down there" in case I prod the wrong thing ha ha - DH said - ooh you look like you are showing now - had to tell him that was my food baby not baby baby

TJ eloise is a FAB name - so pretty. A friend has called her daughter annabelle which I think is really pretty too (and you get anna and bella for free).

nh Thalia is also cute bt reminds me of a vegetable thali - that metal plate of rice and different curries you get in Indonesia

EllieG · 22/02/2008 09:05

Eloise is gorgeous name - might have to put that on my list too. Am goign to ring DP and see what he thinks.
