why not make an appointment to discuss your feelings with someone before making any decisions?

why specifically are you devastated?
how did you get pregnant?

honestmummy56 · 25/09/2022 16:32

"how did you get pregnant" are you sure you're old enough to be here

Well aren't you a dickhead.

she is devastated to be pregnant. Not unhappy. Not concerned. Devastated. He is happy about it. Pregnancy can be a form of domestic abuse.

crying2 · 25/09/2022 16:34

I was very stupidly cycle tracking and have fell pregnant

im annoyed with myself for being careless and I’m sad I don’t want a baby yet. I’m happy with my son and I wanted him to be older

My partner is very happy and said he wouldn’t like to get an abortion and I get that. The fact I was stupid enough not to take proper protection and simply don’t want a baby isn’t the best reason to have an abortion

I'm sorry OP. It does sound like you wanted a second child though, so maybe once the shock has worn off you'll come around to the idea? 18 months can be a lovely age gap for lots of reasons, I'm sure they'd grow up close.

honestmummy56 · 25/09/2022 16:38

clearly she doesn't agree with that statement of yours so keep your negative comments to yourself

You do realise youve offered op nothing. Not one word. Turn on the TV if you are just after entertainment and stop acting like a twat here.

JulesCobb · 25/09/2022 16:42

Can you talk through you concerns about ‘now’ with your dh?

A small age gap can be great for your career and personal life in the long term.

HailAdrian · 25/09/2022 16:49

Well, you can't have a baby for someone else, that's unfair on the baby. Just get an abortion, it doesn't have to be a big drama, especially if it's extremely early days.

LitterTracey · 25/09/2022 16:51

A grown woman having unprotected sex isn’t not trying for a baby.

Do you want an abortion? Forgot about what your boyfriend says, what do you want?

MolliciousIntent · 25/09/2022 16:53

The best reason to get an abortion is not wanting a baby. There you go.

Honestly OP, just get the termination. It's not your DH's body.

Highfivemum · 25/09/2022 16:56

Do nothing at the moment. You have only just found out so have time to think about it. It will be a shock but once the shock wears off you may be happy. If your not make the best decision for you.
I wish you all the best

AsterixInEngland · 25/09/2022 17:02

1- it’s ok to be devastated about a pregnancy you dint want
2- contraception is BOTH your responsibility, not just yours alone (albeit I agree that if you really don’t want to get pg, another contraception method would have been safer)
3- your partner might be happy about the pg, he might not want you to have an abortion. None if it matters. It’s YOU who takes the decision.

Take your time @crying2 . It’s a shock. And I suspect you’d do well to go and talk about it to someone else. Then take the decision that is best for you.
it’s all well and good fir your DP to be delighted but he isn’t the one who is og, will give birth, will sacrifice yet more time on ML and will take on most if the work associated with having another baby.
And I say that as someone who has had two dcs with age gap and was happy with it btw.

Amijustagrump · 25/09/2022 17:04

Very similar situations, DS is 8 months and I'm 8 weeks pregnant. I've had a termination before and couldn't bear to again.
But I've kinda come around to it, and I think I might lose this baby due to various miscarriage symptoms and I am sad about it.
Things that helped me are I won't need to go back to the baby stage, career wise it'll be in one big hit, DS won't be jealous as he won't know life before his sibling.
Sending hugs

Oh op you've got to do the right thing for you! Nobody else but you! There is no wrong or right in this situation.
It doesn't matter if your other half want you to keep this pregnancy its your body and your choice.

underneaththeash · 25/09/2022 17:20

You’ve just got a second baby a bit earlier than planned. You’ll be fine.

(but next time use some contraception).

Alohaoi · 25/09/2022 17:21

Mine are 14 months apart, it's been OK! Some days were hard but they're so close now. Plus I feel like we got the sleepless nights over in one go.

This.

crying2 · 25/09/2022 17:28

Another stupid thought I’ve had is what if I get an abortion and this is my last child like what if I can’t get pregnant again?

my head is everywhere I just am not ready for another 😭

OP posts:
titchy13 · 25/09/2022 17:31

Definitely reiterate a pp, you've got to do what's best for you! My DS is 9 months and me and my dh argue about the age gap between the next baby.
If I was in your shoes I would feel the exact

Echobelly · 25/09/2022 17:32

It's your body and your life though - would this create work issues as well, for example?

You're entitled not to want a baby now if it doesn't work for you.

yikesanotherbooboo · 25/09/2022 17:36

You sound as if you are in shock so for now I would suggest giving yourself a few days and then to think about your reasons for not wanting another baby now.
