I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

Hi all,

I had my BFP on Saturday and due date calculator says 4th June.
We're doing IVF and had a BFP in july followed, seven days later, by spotting then a BFN.
Because of that we can't get excited yet.
I'm also having intermittent spotting. Earlier than last time. It seems to go away when I rest completely then it came back today at work. I'm now on the sofa for a couple more days, hoping it'll settle down!
Nice to have people to follow along with.

ladycarlotta · 26/09/2022 17:04

Hi! Congratulations everyone. I have just had a few BFPs and should be due around the 2nd of June, but I've had a lot of miscarriages so I may not stay the course. I'm tentatively hopeful for this one though. Fingers crossed I can join you.

bubble55 · 26/09/2022 17:09

@Algor1thm hiw long did yours last? My saving grace is that all my apps say implantation bleeding is common in week 4 🙏🏼

Algor1thm · 26/09/2022 17:15

@bubble55 brown every time I wiped for about an hour maybe? Yeah lots online saying it can be normal as the placenta begins to form and connect with blood vessels, expecially if it's brown.

Hope everyone has sticky beans ❤️

miamiibiza · 26/09/2022 17:33

This is probably a stupid question, but is there anything that can be done to prevent/minimise the chances of having a miscarriage?

I feel guilty every time I cough, or crouch, or roll over in bed quickly. Like I could be lessening the chances of it sticking somehow.
Am I completely irrational?!

No, I think as long as you're taking care of yourself as best as you can, what will be will be x

bubble55 · 26/09/2022 17:40

Fingers crossed @Algor1thm the bleeding is nowhere near what I had before. This is very very light so I’m praying 🤞🏼I’ll worry when/if it gets heavier

I think it's quite normal to be anxious initially. From what I've read they get pretty snug in there so it won't unstick unless there's a problem.

Unfortunately, if it's not going to make it I don't think there's anything we can do to stop it.

I'm wondering if by resting to stop my spotting, I'm just prolonging the inevitable 😔

Weefreetiffany · 26/09/2022 18:26

Sorry to hear about the spotting. My initial symptoms seem to have reduced a bit so getting a bit anxious. Hope everyone has sticky beans too.

MrsP4 · 26/09/2022 18:41

Hope you're all ok, sorry to hear. Couple of you are spotting, please don't be alarmed I had it in my first pregnancy and everything was fine,

Do these tests look ok to you? Top one is yesterday afternoon, bottom one is this morning with morning urine, I just remember with my daughter the line was really dark straight away

My spotting has stopped now and nothing when I wipe. It was just a little bit? So hoping that’s it and no more. Really frustrating as my bloods are available online but I can’t see the hcg one 🤷🏻‍♀️

@MrsP4 they look fab congrats x

B1993 · 26/09/2022 18:53

Hi everyone, I'm sorry to hear so many of you are having spotting!! I was terrified wheb I had the brown spotting in my last pregnancy - unfortunately it was a bad sign for me but I've heard it can be completely normal!!

My bleeding seems to have stopped (at least for now). I had the bright red on Saturday and there was another bright red streak yesterday when I wiped. In between that, I've also had some pink and brown but it's not been all the time.

I'm not sure what's going to happen with this pregancy but trying to remain hopeful despite my head telling me all the spotting isn't a good sign!!

In other news, I've been given my booking appointment date, if I make it that far. It's 26/10 so I'll be around 8weeks 5 days (based on m/c bleed). Has annoying got there's through yet?

Tryinforno3 · 26/09/2022 20:35

Hey! Congratulations Everyone! Can I join? Very early days but looks like I Just got my BFP on my 12th cycle . Due early June - my other 2 DC are both June babies too - actually they are even the same day - could it happen a third time ? xx

Hi I got my BFP last week and I think my due date will be 2nd June.

I’m a bit worried about stress causing issues. My DH has been in hospital since Friday with a kidney issue they can’t pin down. DS(4) is upset and the constant nausea is making it all very hard to deal with. I keep crying whenever I have to talk about it all, my emotions are all over the place.

I’m so scared that I’m overdoing it but don’t really have much choice. I’m having pain under my left rib/side which I think I twisted funny this morning. My tummy feels really heavy which seems a bit weird as I’m only 4wks 5 days.

I’ve just checked my app and I’ve got mine now for the 19th October, I’ll be 7 weeks 6 days if I make it that far! It’s weird how they don’t actually tell you the appointment is there or notify you in any way it just sits on the app waiting for you to log in

MrsP4 · 26/09/2022 23:06

I've gone online too my apt is booked for 27th October of my dates are right then I'll be 8+5 I still think it's weird that no one actually checks to see if your pregnant before then, is anyone going to have an early scan? I had one with my daughter but not sure whether to again.

miamiibiza · 26/09/2022 23:09

@Veryxonfused
Which app do you check to find your appointment?

Mine is on BadgerNotes but may depend on the area

HopingForBaby2 · 27/09/2022 00:37

@bubble55 my spotting has also stopped and was a very small amount. Praying it stays away for all of us 🤞🏼🙏🏼 and doesn't come back!!

B1993 · 27/09/2022 02:51

@Veryxonfused I got an email update telling me to log in, otherwise I wouldn't have known!!

@miamiibiza My Pregancy Notes is where I registered and track my pregancy in my area.

bubble55 · 27/09/2022 06:47

Took another first response today to see if any darker since Sunday and nope. Got significantly lighter. Waiting on my bloods today but I already know the outcome. 2nd chemical in a row. This is so cruel. Why is my
body doing this?

now to go to work and be told “at least it wasn’t further on” I don’t care whether I’m 4 weeks pregnant or 4 years pregnant, we have planned this baby and wanted and loved it so much. Now it’s taken away from us.

Oh, @bubble55 I'm so sorry. No more words except take care of yourself and be kind to yourself.

Algor1thm · 27/09/2022 07:10

@bubble55 I'm so, so sorry to hear that 😔 I hope you can get some tests from the GP after two in a row. It doesn't matter how long you've been pregnant, it's still painful to get excited about the idea of a baby and then lose them. I hope you have a good network of people to support you.

I'm not feeling particularly hopeful either after a day of spotting yesterday. Line still progressing but I feel like it's a matter of time.

@Algor1thm fingers crossed for you x

I don’t particularly have that many people. My mum died when I was a teen and things like this really hurt as I should have her to speak to. It kind of brings a rollercoaster of emotions out. I’m going to call the GP for my results and arrange an appointment. I still want to try as soon as this has ended but I worry about potentially being pregnant for the third time in 4 months. I also worry if I can handle another disappointment but I do desperately want another baby.

sorry for all the rants, threads like this are a lifeline x
