Algor1thm · 22/09/2022 22:25

I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

I have also had constipation too!
Makes me feel better knowing others are going through the same symptoms with sleep etc!
@Hannah310523 how exciting, I would of told my mum by now but unfortunately mine has passed away.
I’m so tempted to tell my best friend.

skyofdiamonds · 30/09/2022 05:47

No I haven’t told anyone! Have you?
given how rough I feel, I think I might have to 🤦🏻‍♀️
I’ve no idea how I’m going to work next week!

B1993 · 30/09/2022 06:00

@skyofdiamonds I've always been told severe pain in pregsncg dhoukd get checked out, especially if accompanied by any spotting (not sure if you said you've had any in the past). Not saying that to worry you, but if you give your EPAU a call they might recommend you get scanned to make sure baby is in the right place.

My pains personally differ - mostly it's twinges, which are sometimes around my ovaries (🤷🏻‍♀️), period like cramps or I've also had a bit of backache.

@Hannah310523 With my son, we told parents as soon as we found out - literally within the hour! 😂 Then we told our siblings that week.

With the second pregnancy last month, we told close family that same week. I've been a lot more cautious this line around because of that loss. We're going to get an early scan somewhere between 6-8 weeks hopefully so I'll wait until then, if not longer! My sister does know but I've sworn her to secrecy. 🤐🤫

@skyofdiamonds and @Hannah310523 I remember having constipation with my first!! It can often be caused by the prenatal vitamins! 😩 This pregnancy I did my research and I'm taking Active Iron Pregnancy Plus (I took Pregnacare Max with my son). The iron is designed to be kind to your tummy and non-constipating. So far, so good 👍🏻😊 It's quite expensive (£25 for a month supply) but gets great reviews and I've even heard a lot of GPs recommend it.

Hannah310523 · 30/09/2022 06:40

@Blossomhoney Aw sorry to hear that, it must be really hard for you :(

@skyofdiamonds @B1993 we’re torn between telling our parents this weekend, or having a private scan next Sunday then telling just Incase. I’ll be 6 weeks 4 days by then. Not sure what to do!

It’s all so new and exciting :)!!!

Hannah310523 · 30/09/2022 06:41

@Blossomhoney I think it would be nice to share it with your best friend, I’m hoping to tell mine soon 😁

tigerlily0 · 30/09/2022 06:45

I can't sleep either, maybe it's the apprehension but also getting super hot. Boobs are achy AF. Have a blocked nose but i remember in first trimester u can get these cold-like symptoms. Iv contacted the MW and they said they will be in touch with me soon. I'm not telling anyone yet. I actually feel like I don't want to tell anyone and see if they can guess lolll. I think if I tell anyone Il be whinging and moaning too much about sickness and pains and i don't want to moan.

B1993 · 30/09/2022 06:53

@Hannah310523 If you want to tell people, then do!! I remember feeling just the same way with my first! It's was everyone's first grandchild too, so I was desperate to tell them and let them share the joy. It was amazing honestly and enjoyed everyone knowing so soon. It was also nice not to have to feel like I was putting on a brave face when I felt exhausted. Plus, I hate keeping secrets! 🤐😂

Chances are, everything will be fine so wouldn't worry about waiting for an early scan if you don't want to. I'm waiting purely because of my loss last month and having bright red bleeding last week.

Audienceofone · 30/09/2022 09:04

Omg so many new messages I can’t catch up 😂 hope everyone is doing ok

ive had real trouble sleeping too and a fun symptom of early morning diarrhoea 🙃 only 4 weeks so I’m hoping this isn’t gonna be a thing throughout the whole pregnancy haha

I’ve told 4 of my friends (my bridesmaids) who already knew we were trying for a baby and we’re the only people who new about our previous loss and my fiancé has told his parents.

Hannah310523 · 30/09/2022 09:55

@B1993 I hope everything is okay for you this time round. I read it’s quite common to have some bleeding. I’ve been listening to some podcasts in Spotify and they mentioned it on there.

My fave one at the moment is Two New Mums, really funny and honest

Okapi99 · 30/09/2022 11:59

I've never listened to a podcast before. Where do you find them? Is it an app?

NalaNana · 30/09/2022 12:11

I've been having a lot of these symptoms too! Constipation, struggling to sleep, waking up earlier than normal, sore throat etc. my boobs are so sore!

In terms of cramping, I would say I've been having light cramps but they aren't particularly painful, it feels more like some light pressure? Hard to describe. However, I did have some painful cramps for a few minutes after orgasm last night which was alarming but apparently normal.

@Algor1thm how are you getting on, have you had a scan? I've got mine booked for next Friday to check it isn't ectopic again, already feel anxious about it as the last time I was there it was such an awful experience 🙁

Kiara427 · 30/09/2022 12:49

hi!
so I took the clear blue ultra early digital tests
i did two of them and both said pregnant
i then did a normal one and it didn’t show up
is it because I’m in very early stages of pregnancy? Has anyone else had this? should I wait a week or so to do a Normal one
thank you

The sensitivity of the ultra early ones is 10miu and the others are 25miu (I think). It should probably be positive in a couple of days

Hannah310523 · 30/09/2022 13:17

@Okapi99 Yes, on the app “Spotify”

@Algor1thm Good luck for your scan, sending positive vibes 🤞🏽 how many weeks will you be when you go? Mine feel similar to period pains, but different somehow. Can’t really explain it.

B1993 · 30/09/2022 13:24

@Hannah310523 Thank you 😊 Lukily I've not had any bleeding or spotting since Sunday so touch wood I'm hoping things are ok in there and I will have a smoother time of it now!! I'm not if and when I'll find the time to listen to any podcasts but will have to check out the one you recommended if I get a spare minute!

@NalaNana I hope everything goes well for you next Friday! I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to go through that. I'm sorry if you've already said - I have the worst memory 😩 - but is the scan routine or did you request it to put your mind at ease? I'm sure I read something that said is very unlikely to suffer two ectopics so hopefully you get good news and see a little bean with a heartbeat 💓

@Kiara427 Most digits require a higher level of hCG which is most likely the reason you tested negative on that one. It could have also been because your urine was more diluted, especially if you tested during the day with a short hold. First Response Early Result are great for testing early so I'd recommend you give one of those a try.

B1993 · 30/09/2022 13:32

On another note completely, I got a message through from my son's nursery saying that three of their rooms have had confirmed cases of hand foot and mouth! He hasn't been in since Wednesday but, naturally, I'm freaking out!! I hope I don't jinx anything but so far he doesn't have symptoms. The NHS says to avoid close contact with anyone with it while pregnant as it can cause a fever, which can lead to miscarriage. He should be at a nursery friends birthday tomorrow but I don't want to risk further exposure and am debating cancelling, which I know is horrible!!

Any advice welcome... or have any second/third time mommas been through anything similar?

NalaNana · 30/09/2022 13:36

@B1993 if you have a history of ectopic pregnancy you are usually offered a scan at 6 weeks to check it's in the right place. The usual risk of ectopic is about 1% but if you've have one previously it goes up to about 10%. There are risk factors behind about 50% of ectopic pregnancies like blocked or scarred tubes/pelvic inflammatory disease etc but they don't do any investigations into why it happened so it's hard to know how likely it is to reoccur on an individual basis.

I have noticed that this pregnancy is different to my last one though! I've had no spotting, no painful cramping and nothing really one sided so I'm hoping for the best! X

B1993 · 30/09/2022 13:42

@NalaNana It's great that they offer the scan for reassurance - a nervous wait until then - but hopefully it'll bring some good news! 🥰

It all sounds really postive given that you've not experienced anything worrying! Hopefully that's a good sign that this will be a happy and healthy 9 months for you☺️

Sneezymcsneezy · 30/09/2022 14:02

@B1993 yes my son had HFM when I hadn't realised I was pregnant (1.5 weeks ago), it was fine, just make sure you wash your hands diligently and don't put anything that has been in his mouth into yours (like play eating his hand.. like I did)

Audienceofone · 30/09/2022 14:45

@NalaNana hope everything goes well with the scan!
@B1993 my three kids all had hfm at the same time but I never caught it…do what makes you most comfortable though, birthday parties come and go and if you don’t want to risk it, just don’t go. I’m sure nobody will mind if that’s what you decide to do

Algor1thm · 30/09/2022 16:15

@NalaNana my scan is booked for 10 days time as the spotting has stopped and pain has gone to mild. I'm nervous but hopeful. I'm not surprised you're feeling anxious, it must bring back a lot of awful memories for you. At least you'll get some early reassurance about how everything is going though. Really hoping everything looks great for you. Will this be your first?

@Hannah310523 I'll be nearly 6 weeks. Have you had any spotting or just cramps?

OP posts:
Hannah310523 · 30/09/2022 16:51

@Algor1thm I’ve just had cramps. I remember a few weeks ago after intercourse there was a tiny bit of blood there but I didn’t think anything of it. I can’t for the life of me remember if this was pre or post ovulation. We weren’t really trying to be honest just thought if it happens, then great. So I’m not sure if that could have been implantation bleeding or not x

NalaNana · 30/09/2022 16:58

@Algor1thm I'm hopeful that it will bring some reassurance! I'm a bit worried that even if it is in the uterus, it might not have a heartbeat as I will be exactly 6 weeks (based on last period) and then I'll have something else to stress about! It will be my first x

Clomid1 · 30/09/2022 17:06

This time last year I was on a thread for June 2022 babies. It’s crazy to think this whole journey started a year ago. I now have a beautiful little girl.

Just wanted to wish you all good luck. Exciting times lie ahead 😁

Kiara427 · 30/09/2022 18:10

Is cramping normal for early days of pregnancy? Not even a week yet. Tested positive on the clear blue early digital twice
