Morning all

Dex did another stupendous sleep... had to wake him up to feed him and take DC to school. Fingers crossed this is a pattern he is going to stick to.

Fettle- hope Toby is ok with the jabs... Dex has got his 2nd lot next week. What is the third injection for? Did they do the polio one in his mouth yet? Dex only had 2 jabs first time around. That Messiah was a bit gruesome!

mrs- any action overnight?

Seaside and Iampg- a lot of the lovely ladies on here were early- Bodders you were 38 wks, i think??

Sorry- so excited about the pending births that I cant remember what I was going to say to anyone else!

Bump photo shot available to view for short time

scorpio1 · 28/01/2008 19:45

No, just Millie for us I like Amelia or Emilia but DH doesn't and she will be Millie anyway, so i figured we will just name her that. My other children have short similar names anyway. Millie's full name is going to be Millie Grace Jessamy ......

i'm just glad that me and DH agreed on something, Millie was actually the outlaws idea anyway!

Honeyapple, how do you find BF-ing when you have 2 others to do as well? i have never tried it before, and am thinking about it more and more. think i will try first feed after birth and take it one feed at a time iyswim? DH is supportive of any baby ideas i have so no issues there. if i do manage first feed that will be a big breakthrough for me mentally anyway. I got upset last time that i didnt try so sort of know this time may be the time iyswim? please just let me know how you physically manage doing all the things the others need and BF-ing if you could?

Millie's head is under my ribs and icant sit properly! hoping she will turn soon.

Hello everyone

its been a long long time since I last posted, but my wee man (now 6 months old!!!) has been keeping me rather busy.

I really just want to wish Mrsmcjnr lots of luck, and that labour will be manageable..I went for gas and air, then an epidural, then had an emergancy c-section in the end. The more drugs the better in my book!!

anyway, I'll be checking out the birth announcements

love

dd1

Rainbowy - want to see your bump picture, but your profile isn't active.

By the way everyone - e-mail was from Mrs' account, but sent by her DH. I'm sure that Mrs will be on here in her own good time to tell us all what happened - but it sounds as if it went very well - but I won't steal her thunder!

Hope Seaside is getting on ok and little Cassius!

Thanks for the formula advice - Toby has wolfed bottles of breast-milk down, so don't think it is the bottle, just the yukky formula taste. Must try again tomorrow as I'm utterly and totally exhausted. DD's teacher kept asking me if everything was ok at home and if I was alright as I seemed a bit teary!! Just said I was exhausted! But she says DD is doing very well although she just rushes around everywhere, as she hates to miss out on anything, which she thinks is just a sign of her immaturity at the moment, even she (the teacher)forgets sometimes that she is one of the younger ones in the year as she could easily pass for a Sept/Oct baby! (She's not 4 until April!).

Right - I'm off sleeping (hopefully for 9 hours solidly!! - I can dream!!!). Can't believe that Toby used to sleep through before christmas!

Hello everyone

Feel like I've missed out on so much!

Firstly - Seaside - thanks for taking the time to do that fab post - it's always great to hear everyone's birth stories, and a nice memento for yourself too - you'll have to print it out and stick it in your baby book! Sounds like you did brilliantly - especially as those contractions sounded pretty excruciating from fairly early on! Well done for holding off on the epidural, and hope your bruising/stitches aren't stopping you from enjoying your lovely boy. Another fantastic name! So original and cool Well done for trying with the feeding, and for keeping up the expressing, whatever you manage to do for your boy will be a wonderful start in life, but the main thing is that you recover fully and he gets enough to eat, and if that means formula, so be it

Congrats Beansprout on your little lad as well, hope you're all settling in well and the C-section isn't giving you too much grief.

Honeyapple - your Dex is just GORGEOUS! and like Greedy - love the sleepsuit! That's great that the eczema seems to have gone, hope it stays away!

Greedy - wonderful news about your sister - you must be thrilled! Fingers crossed for the next 8 months for her that all goes well. BTW, are you on drugs you sound high as a kite!

Hi Fettle - sorry to hear Toby is draining you dry! It's so annoying when you look back and see how their sleeping has gone to pot isn't it! Isla used to do 7-7 (well, a handful of times anyway). Hope things get on track for you soon, you must be shattered!

Chooster - Re Max and his shyness/clingyness - I'm inclined to agree with what Greedy said, it's just a phase, he'll come through the other side, and don't worry too much. I find that this age is maddening - my DD will suddenly decide she will not do something that she has previously been fine about, or is suddenly scared of a story that she has liked before, or a DVD etc. Funny little things these [in your case, nearly] 4 year olds

Hello to everyone else! Hi Scorpio, I've been nosing at your profile too after Greedy mentioned it - lovely pics of your family

Bodkin · 28/01/2008 22:06

Fettle - sorry, I didn't wish you a happy belated birthday

ladylush · 28/01/2008 23:25

Have been trawling the threads looking for news of Mrs McJnr. Finally found it here! Fantastic news Mrs M Congratulations. Lovely name (and I remember you love your nephews so a boy is good ). Please do give us the details when you feel rested (erm that will probably be in a few years then.........)

rainbowdays · 29/01/2008 09:02

Hope my profile is now active and that you can see the photo now!

honeyapple · 29/01/2008 10:47

Morning

Scorpio- I BF all my babies, so never found any problems with doing it and sorting them out. I think cos they know that they had milk from mummy, they think it is totally normal and dont bother me when I am feeding Dex. Infact it is great that I can say- "I cant do that at the moment cos I am feeding yr brother!" They are older than your other 2, so maybe they can understand this better- and that the baby comes first sometimes. I was talking to my DD about this yesterday- telling her how Dex cant understand about waiting yet, so when he wants milk, mummy has to stop doing other things to feed him- or else he will cry. I would absolutely encourage you to try BFing Millie, I have found it to be a great experience- sometimes tiring, and sore to start with- but definitely worth it in the long run. Any questions- just ask!

Rainbow- great bump shot

Fettle- the other morning a mum from school stopped her car and got out to ask me if I was alright! Yikes- I told her I was just a bit tired and had no make-up on! Must make more effort in the mornings .

Sorry- Dex yelling- back later xx

scorpio - do you think you will have anymore kids after millie..............you have so many years ahead of you, you couldhave lots more.................i would!!

fettle and honey - one of the teachers in ellis' class the other day just looked at me and said " oh i know..........its really tough getting the 3 of them up and out isn't it? are you ok?".........i thought i was having a good morning, but i obviously looked a bit dishevelled!!

i LOVE marcys elbows by the way!!!! she is sitting on my lap and has got short sleeves on so i can see them and they are just so cute and podgy!!!!!

like your pic rainbow - you look nothing like you looked in my head!!!! people never do, do they?!! cant believe you are so far along now too!!!! time flies!

firsty - hope it goes well with ty and getting tough!!! i think the key is not to give up after a few days, cos sometimes thst is very tempting. that has worked with my 3.............but i know some babies are more stubborn...............mine just werent that bothered about seeing me in the night!!!!!..................maybe its cos i sleep naked!!!!! they were probably relieved to sleep through and stop getting nocturnal visits from their fat naked mum!!!!

iampgatlast · 29/01/2008 16:10

rainbowdays · 29/01/2008 16:29

iampg - happy due date to you, happy due date to you, happy due date dear iampg, happy due date to you! There are loads of ways of encouraging oscar to move round the right way, I only found out about them once I had been through OP labour!!! I thought that the trick was to just stay on all fours and let gravity do the work, but it was only later that I found out there are more things you can do.... hope you get loads of advice from people who have succeeded at it. Keep thinking positive, no transfer for you, easy-peasy birth thoughts only now!!!

OK should get back to work now.... catch you all later

ladylush · 29/01/2008 17:52

Hi Scorpio when's Millie due?

scorpio1 · 29/01/2008 18:50

Millie is due April 11th, me and DH have a bet going - i think she will be born on the 6th and DH says the 9th. i have never ever been 40 weeks pg, furthest i have got is 39+4. hoping for a repeat!

Greedy- i would secretly like 1 more after Mills but she is our fourth between us as it is; we want to be able to afford holidays still and our little extras iyswim...plus i want to work using my degree at some point too...thinking of going part time when Jamie starts school and Millie is 18mths, just 3 days a week. Reilly will be over 7 then! although i do think i am one of those women who will constantly want babies forever and i had to fight DH hard enough for this bbay anyway....he wasnt keen for a long time but i persuaded him he is over the moon i am now obv!

thanks honeyapple for the advice; i may have more questions for you soon if thats ok?

iampgatlast · 29/01/2008 18:54

rainbowdays - thanks for my due date tune what other things did you find out of interest to turn the baby?
my birthing ball has deflated itself so going to have to get another tomorrow sharpish and get a bouncing!!
thanks for your positive thoughts

i am putting operation curry and guiness to the test tonight!

wish me luck x

honeyapple · 29/01/2008 19:00

Good luck Iampg- thinking of you . Can't you pump up your ball?? Only heard about crawling around on all fours to get baby to turn- woth a try though. However back to back is not the end of the world and Oscar may well turn during labour with the contractions.

Scorpio- no worries, ask away! I'm not sure if I will have get the feeling that I dont want anymore children completely- but agree with you about wanting to do other stuff!- what is your degree in?

Mrs- the wait to hear about Xavier's birth is killing me!

Social Work. i have a year left to complete after i have Millie, which i can do mostly from home.

ladylush · 29/01/2008 20:40

Social work - what field?

ladylush · 29/01/2008 20:56

April a good time for your developed egg to arrive

Bodkin · 29/01/2008 22:24

Evening all!

Greedy - I meant to say ages ago how adorable your little Marcy is - she looks so grown up in that latest picture too. I love seeing Isla when she's just out the bath and all naked and chubby and peachy. Re weaning, am doing a bit of both BLW and mush - today for lunch she shared my egg mayo sandwich in a cafe (I know, we actually went out!!!!) and left some very sweet little semi-circles in the sandwich where she gummed out mouthfulls. Then for dinner tonight she had some pureed veg and cous cous that i cooked and froze in icecube trays a while ago - so it just depends. But it is amazing how well she eats quite lumpy food without gagging and choking. The funny thing is that it passes pretty much undigested in to her nappy, so I can see a sliced mushrooom, floret of broccoli etc. in amidst the yellow goo....

Went to the docs today to get some XXX rated nappy rash cream to sort it once and for all (hopefully) it is all singing all dancing anti fungal , anti-bac etc. She's still showing no inclination to sit yet, which is a bit frustrating, but was a joy and delight today, although I have no idea what I did differently today than any other day!

Iampg - happy due date to you - hope Oscar flips around again for you!

Scorpio - how on earth do you find the time and energy to look after 3 kids and do a degree while pregnant

honeyapple · 29/01/2008 22:28

bodders- hope the superduper cream sorts Isla's bot out pronto. V impressed by the egg sarnie eating!

Just checking to see if any news from Mrs...

night night
xx

OP posts:
ladylush · 29/01/2008 22:43

No news from Mrs McJnr - hope all is ok. I suppose she is just knackered after the birth.

scorpio1 · 30/01/2008 10:07

Bodkin - ahhh at gummy baby munching

I have dss in the holidays, and often DH takes the time off too, so the majority of the time i just have my 2 and my millie bump. i go 2 days a week to uni, and i have free periods in those days to do alot of my assignments, etc. DH is also very good and will take the DC's out if i have a deadline. Work experience is done as and when, usually in my holidays but on the same days as uni iyswim? since xmas i have mostly worked from home with e-support so its not too stressy for me. tutors are very suportive too. and yes, its very tiring at times, and i do wonder how i mangae it.

I will specialise in the last year of my degree, i will do children and child protection more in depth and learn more specific procedures and laws/policies.

Mrs must be enjoying her little one or be too tired to remember where the computer is, let alone turn it on
