Morning all

Dex did another stupendous sleep... had to wake him up to feed him and take DC to school. Fingers crossed this is a pattern he is going to stick to.

Fettle- hope Toby is ok with the jabs... Dex has got his 2nd lot next week. What is the third injection for? Did they do the polio one in his mouth yet? Dex only had 2 jabs first time around. That Messiah was a bit gruesome!

mrs- any action overnight?

Seaside and Iampg- a lot of the lovely ladies on here were early- Bodders you were 38 wks, i think??

Sorry- so excited about the pending births that I cant remember what I was going to say to anyone else!

Scorpio - am still very impressed! LOL at "just my 2 and millie bump" - that's still quite a lot in my book

Firsty - that sounds like definite progress to me - well done! Keep at it, it looks like you're getting there. Stay strong, and don't give in! I know what you mean about uncuddly babies! Isla is the same, not keen on cuddles at all, never has been, much to my disappointment!. DD1 was the same, but she's very cuddly now, so I'm sure Ty will make up for it when he's older
Isla was in a good mood before I even went to the doctors, and she's charming again today - but that might be something to do with the cream now - it's working like a dream - her arse is now normal skin colour, as opposed to flourescent red!

Right, i'm being nagged to play Tummy Ache, DD1s favourite game of the moment, so better dash x

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/01/2008 16:36

just looking for baby news and catching up!!!! such a busy day with doing stuff for the kids i thought i was entitled to 20 mins me time on MN while cooking dinner!

marcy was screaming for food at least an hour before her bottle was due today so i am getting worried i will have to wean her. we are going to anglesey at half term and i was hoping to last till after then at least. why cant babies just survive on milk till they are old enough to cook for themselves hey?!! it would make life a lot easier!

bodders - glad old islas bot is better!poor little thing. i have posted another cute pic of marcy.....i just couldnt resist!!!

iampg - good luck. i hope you are at home pushing as i type.

guess mrs and seaside are busy.............i keep trying to remember what its like first time round and i guess coming on MN would have been the last thing on my mind!

firsty - great about tys sleep...........if he doesnt need milk he will hopefully just give up waking up.

honeyapple · 30/01/2008 17:38

bodders- tummy ache is a classic- and actually one I dont mind playing! Glad to hear Isla's bum is better.

Firsty- agree with the rest- sounds like you are doing well to combat Ty's night waking. Hope tonight goes even better .

Greedy- how many weeks is Marcy now- is she 4 weeks older than Dex?

Dex had his 2nd lot of imms today- he didnt cry at all with the first one , but did a bit with the second . Had him weighed whilst I was there... only 11.11 which isnt even a pound in nearly 5wks... he has dropped down to 9th percentile . HV said maybe I needed to eat more and also that he shouldnt go for more than 8hrs without feeding- he has been sleeping for 9hrs at night. Dunno what to do- maybe he is just going to be a little one... Might start topping him up at night with a bottle seeing as he has no problem drinking from one. Oh I dunno! Advice welcome .

Xavier and Cassius are definitely keeping their mummies busy .

Chooster · 30/01/2008 19:23

Hi all, its been busy here!! Any signs Iampg?? Fingers crossed for you. I last heard from MrsMc on Monday I think and she seemed fine but haven't spoken with her or seen the little man but hopefully soon. I didn't get the 'birth' e-mail either but it seems like it went well from what you say Fettle.

WOw, as others have said Scorpio - you are a superwoman! When I was pregnant I was good for nothing!! , although I'd imagine your course it very interesting so that must keep you going quite a bit. Millie is such a cute name - makes me want a little girl . And good on DH for giving you some time to study etc - sounds like you've got a good one there.

Very cute pics Greedy - must get some on there too as haven't dont it for ages. How is your sis doing? Lovely to hear that her life has really taken a turn for the better and she's surprised you all! And well done for being match-maker

Ahhh, egg sarnies - very cute bodders . Theo is doing fairly well at his food and hasn't rejected anything yet but I need to try for lumpier stuff and not be too complacent with the mush. So glad Isla's bot is on the mend - it must be so sore . Maybe yopu did nothing different for her good mood, perhaps she's just becoming naturally a bit chirpier .

Sounds like a breakthrough Firsty!!! Just keep at it eh! Theo had a dreadful night last night, waking every hour and a half. He was perfectly happy and was quite chirpy but as I'm sharing a room with him at the moment he kept me awake... We're at my mums for a few days while our new boiler goes in. Anyway dad just shouted that my dinner is ready and asking if I want wine - Ahh, the joys of being cooked for .

Hi to everyone else.... Will pop back on later

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/01/2008 20:04

ah chooster...........wine!!!!! i love it!!!! i really sympathise with all you pg women not being able to drink. i still havent had a night since marcy was born with no alcohol............thats shocking really isn't it. only a glass or two a night, but i do feel like i need it!

honey - marcy is 16 wks today! maybe dex will just be smaller than average. i am sure you must be eating enough and he takes what he wants from you otherwise he would scream that he was hungry all the time. HVs just like to worry us i think. not EVERY baby can be bang on average can they? i remember the HV worrying me when kiki was 6 months and spiralled off the top of the charts. they were talking about her having some sort of growth hormone disorder, but she is fine and she was a lot bigger than dex is small (iyswim) cos she wasnt even on the charts anymore. he looks perfectly healthy to me in your pics!!! there one thing that the doc said to me about marcy (and babies in general) at her 8 wk check that i thought was really good. she said if you measure their head circumference and it corresponds to their weight, so its on a similar centile, then they are in proportion and its nothing to worry about. marcys head was on 98th centile which is what her weight is now too, which shows that she is just a big baby. you cant really gain weight on your head so it shows that she is in proportion. if her head was on 50th centile but weight was on 98th then she would be overweight. so if dex has a smaller than average head then he isnt underweight, justa smaller baby...........so get measuring!!! did all that make sense?

chooster - you are so lucky you are going to get to meet one of the thread babies in RL!!! i am so jealous!!! i have only met one and thats marcy!!!

Chooster · 30/01/2008 20:40

Just a few things I forgot...

Sorry you are having some worries about Dex's weight, but he seems settled and happy from what you say. I reckon Greedy's test sounds great. A good piece of advice! My friends DD is on the lowest percentile, is 2.5??? Theo is heavier than her now and she is 16 months old, but she eats like a horse and is always straining to get more food. After a while the HV's have agreed that she is just small, but she's certainly a healthy little girl.

Loving the bump pictures that you've put on Rainbow and Scorpio... Veyr cute boys as well Scorpio .

Well, dinner was lovely and the wine lovlier . Gonna get a really early night and read my book by torch light as I'm in with Theo. Feels like being a little girl reading after lights out .

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/01/2008 21:17

Firstly - what is tummy ache? sounds like a bizarre game? Or am I missing a trick for entertaining children?!!!

Scorpio - i'm with the others - I'm in awe at all you are managing!! Well done you! I'm just shattered with 2 - already in bed now, with the computer and telly.

DH is away for a couple of nights, so taking advantage of an early night. Considering Toby has already woken once this evening, I don't think I'm in for a good night!!

Firsty - sounds like a good work on the sleeping front. Diluting milk is not something you can do with breast-milk!! - although I did try and dilute it with champagne and wine on Saturday night!! Didn't make much difference!!

Greedy - I'm desperately holding off weaning Toby, but he was up 3 times again last night and I'm shattered beyond belief. DD was up twice last night as well, so 2 nights without DH in a row and I'm not going to be able to function by Friday evening!! Marcy is so absolutely gorgeous! you alcoholic!!! Us breast-feeders aren't allowed much alcohol either still! Although I've been having the odd glass from time to time and few more than an odd glass on last Saturday night (but it was my birthday!).

Honey - good on dex not complaining about his injections! Were you other two little as babies? how tall are you and DP, as that will make a big difference? My friend is tiny compared to me and her 8 month old daughter is struggling along on the 9th centile, she is lighter and shorter than Toby!. Maybe try a bottle a day - I'm still perserving with Toby - got a little better yesterday, but was very windy afterwards, as he really just played with it, rather than drink it! Are you eating properly? As long as the HV is not overly worried, I would do whatever you think is best for him. I haven't had Toby weighed for a while, but should do as his weight too was curving down, rather than up the charts the last couple of times I've been. Just read Greedy's post - that head circumference thing seems very sensible - I might try that with Toby - does it work on weight or height greedy? Cos surely you could be quite light (as DD is), but extremely tall and you'd look really funny with a tiny head then?!

Bodders - so pleased to hear that Isla is happier and the bottom cream is helping clear things up. hopefully that will have been her only problem and she'll be sweetness and light for now on!!. Egg sandwiches - good on her!! And well done you getting out of the house properly!! We went the Clarks Outlet Village on Saturday and was wondering how far that would be from you and whether we could engineer a meeting there?! I think it might be about half-way between us! Anyway, think about it!

Anyway, talking of sore bottoms! My poor DD has got a bit of thrush and a suspected urine infection. Finally took her to the doctor today as she has been under the weather and shattered for at least 2-3 months now and has complained of pain on weeing a few times and her front bottom has looked really sore recently as well. Poor lamb - but she has been an absolute angel today - so hope it lasts while DH is away and longer!!

My news is that my epiostomy wound has healed badly so i've been referred back to the gynecologist at the hospital to have something cauterised off!! Sounds bloody painful, but to quote the doctor, if I want anything nearing a fulfilling sex life ever again, I have to have it done!!! (fettle admits that she's still not managed FSAB) - tried a few times, but it was so horribly sore and now I know why! Thankfully, DH has been so understanding until now. NEver knew that epiostomies could turn out like this - would never have agreed to one, if I've known! Next time I won't agree.....actually I'm in a completely non-broody mood at the moment - think it is utter exhaustion, but I can't imagine having any more delightful monkeys to look after!!!

Went to work yesterday and my boss, who is definitely leaving agrees that they will want me back so will probably get the part-time that I want. Also she thinks I might have a chance of getting her job, with some rearrangements part-time - would be fantastic, more money, more responsibility, less days in the office!! And I've been approached by 2 people wanting to become our nanny, so hopefully I'll have everything sorted how I want int he next couple of months, so I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the maternity leave without worrying!

Sorry, gone on a bit - suffering from noone to talk to tonight!!!

Hope Mrs, Seaside and Beany are all enjoying their bundles - of course they are too busy to come on here much at the moment! Can't wait to hear from them though.

Chooster - you'll have to give xavier a cuddle from all of us when you get to meet him!!

Iampg - hope Oscar turns for you, but I have heard of baby's turning during labour either way, so you could be lucky! I know they were worried when they finally broke my waters that Toby was going to turn back to back, so the MW held his head in place with her hand, while my waters gushed out - not a very pleasant experience I can tell you!!!

anyway, my early night is creeping away from me, as it has taken me nearly an hour to write this!!! And Toby has just squealed really loudly in his sleep! shocked the life out of me - not very settled i don't think tonight!

Love and hugs to all
xxx

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/01/2008 21:19

crossed with you Chooster - enjoy your torchlight reading!! And I hope your new boiler is lovely and efficient when you get back home!!!

Also just wanted to confirm that I am in bed alone - not with the computer and the telly in bed with me!!!

oh poo - Toby really is waking up again!

Bodkin · 30/01/2008 22:02

Honey - Dex sounds like Isla - she started off bang on the 50th centile (7lbs 7oz at birth - about as average as you can get!)but is now on the 9th, and I fear slipping lower. But she looks in proportion and my HV wasn't worried at all, so hopefully yours is talking bolleaux and Dex is just a wee one. Greedy's head circ. test sounds very reliable.
Glad to see you are a fellow Tummy Ache enthusiast - I know what you mean, it is strangely enjoyable! We (me, DP and DD) keep inventing new rules to make it more exciting! Fettle, it is one of those Orchard Games (v. good games for preschoolers, like the Shopping List one, do you know that?) and you have to make a delicious dinner by turning over cards, but watch out for the mouldy old fruit salad or spider and chips. Winner is the first one to get a decent meal!

Hope Toby has settled back down for you - sounds good about work! Fingers crossed for you. Bad luck about your poor war-wounded fanjo No wonder you aren't broody! I think there is still a few quid in the "Friends of Choosters Fanjo" account we could bung your way
And your poor DD, hope she feels better soon, that sounds rotten.

Chooster - like your style, reading by torchlight! Hope Theo sleeps better tonight! Tsk, these babies eh? When will they get the hang of this sleeping malarkey?!

Greedy - It's ok to have a few drinks when you're BFing - basically if you're sober enough to look after the baby, it's fine Only a small amount gets through to the milk and it leaves your milk in the same way it leaves your bloodstream, so if I have a few beers or wines of an evening I'm fine to feed Isla when she wakes about 3 or 4am. I don't think i'd want to get trolleyed anyway - hangovers and small kids....

That must have been really worrying for you what they said about Kiki when she was a baby! I'd have freaked!

seaside72 · 30/01/2008 22:38

Hi everyone - i have joined the world of one handed typing! Cassius is asleep on my lap and just the most beautiful boy ever. I am so lucky - he is so good - I know it prob will not last and we are in the honeymoon first weeks but he is so calm and contented. if we time it right he feeds at around midnight and then at around 4am and then not till 7.30-8, he is also in the having a mammoth 3 hour nap every afternoon so we can get sleep pretty well.

BF is not happening - he just wont latch on and gets really frustrated and squirms and kicks me! I get stressed and it is just too distressing. I know the bottles have spoilt him but with all the blood sugar issues and jaundice (which has now completely gone ) i just wanted him feeding well and he is -but I am expressing about half his feed so that is better than nothing. He is also a burping star - pops one out everytime!!!

greedy - I may need your formula feeding expertise . Do you use powdered or ready made up? Do you always warm it? what do you do when you go out? sorry - 20 questions!!

We had a bit of a scare as he did not poo for 2 days but the mw came and stuck a little probe up there and bingo - flood gates open He has also had slightly sticky eyes but I think that is common too?

He has had 2 cranio sessions already which were fascinating and helpful I am sure.

We went out as a "family" today with Cassius all snug in bugaboo for a coffee - such an amazing feeling!

I am doing ok - stitches a bit stingy and I have piles I knew I would after all the pushing but they are grim - making me constipated and uncomfortable. Cant wait to feel semi normal down under - or am I being naive and will that never happen!!!

Ok - better go- so want to hear MrsMcs story sorry for not catching up with everyone - I did notice birthday talk - happy belated b'day fettle!

will try and post photo soon - promise

ladylush · 30/01/2008 22:46

Congrats to all of you with new babies
Scorpio - I work with social workers a lot but they are Approved Social Workers working in Mental Health. Child Protection is a worthy but tough job.

rainbowdays · 31/01/2008 09:00

Hi all

Sorry not being sociable chatting this morning, but just wanted to ask my friends advice here....

I have a good friend whose husband has just been diagnosed with viral encepholitis, is seriously ill in hospital. Under normal circumstances I would do all I could to go to be with her right now, but at 30 weeks pg, I am not sure I could manage the journey across country to see her. I am feeling guilty for not knowing what to do. Her stepsons have flown in from America as the docs have said that should happen. So it is obvioiusly not good. If the worst does happen then obviously I am going to get to her as quickly as possible, but my question is should I go this weekend? Or should I just try to keep supporting her on the phone? Please what do you think I should do?

Bodkin · 31/01/2008 09:40

That's a really tough one Rainbow. Your poor friend. How far away is she from you?
I missed a friends DHs funeral when I was about 30 weeks pg and felt sooo guilty about it, but it was in London and involved a lot of cross-London travelling, plus 3 hours each way to get there and back. My friend was quite adamant that it didn't matter, and she knew I would have come if I could. Your friend may feel the same. Does she have other family nearby?

Seaside - lovely to hear from you, you sound utterly blissed out! Am sure Greedy will give you sound advice on the FF, and well done for managing with the expressing as well, it's a lot to juggle.
Sorry to hear about the Farmer Giles - I suffered during my PG, but they've pretty much gone now. Keep slapping on the cream, and keep your fluids up (orange juice, prune juice etc.) and plenty of fibre (dried apricots are great to nibble on) to keep things moving. Am sure the MWs have told you all this already though

Fettle - sorry, I completely forgot to mention your suggestion of Clarks Village in my post last night! that sounds like a cracking idea - i think its just under an hour away from me, and i@ve been meaning to go since we moved here, but just never got round to it. Should we take our DDs too, or just the babies? Our DDs are about the same age, so it might be nice for them if they came, or they may be very bored with all our nattering and cooing over our babies! Anyway, let's hatch a plan, that would be lovely to do.

iampgatlast · 31/01/2008 10:33

morning ladies

i am still here and nothing is stirring down under - i guess its still early days yet 40+2. getting very very anxious about when is it actually going to happen. i am a planner and a control freak and the not knowing is arrrrgggghhhhhh!!

bodkin - im so pleased islas sore bottom is improving poor little angel!

seaside - helllooo new mummy!! you sound like you are in heaven with your new little family, welldone keeping up with expressing. your first family day out sounds wonderful i am so happy for you!!!

fettle - belated happy birthday to youuuuuu!!!

chooster - so of you getting to cuddle xavier soon!! why cant we all live closer?!!

honey - sorry your a concerned over dexs weight, i dont understand the percentile chart things - i guess i will do when i pop.

firststar - yes i remember you having that famous curry!! but it did not work for me! i have tried a whole pineapple, the curry and guiness, tried pineapple again yesterday and tonight i am going to try prunes. cannot get dp to agree to a shag to put that to the test - so any other ideas?!

hellos to everyone else!!!

rainbowdays · 31/01/2008 11:32

iampg - perhaps it is time to change your name to "iam-nolonger-pgatlast", !!!! , perhaps it will help things along. oh I know I am not being very helpful, but sounds like you have tried most things to encourage this baby out. I am a planner too, perhaps if you read the latest thread I made on 3rd births coming early, it might help you see that I am in great danger of having the same with this little one too! Then in a few weeks time you can help me instead! Are you on the raspberry leaf tea too????

Bodkin - thank you for your understanding about my friend, I am currently in somerset and she lives in Kent, so it would be a very long journey to get to her. She really has none of her family close by her, and they are not all that close emotionally anyway. I think realistically I could not manage the journey, and I know she understands, but at the same time, she is the sort of person who does not ask for help even when she desperately needs it. I can hear it in her voice. I just hope that if I keep in touch regularly by phone that at least I can be some help? BTW - clarks village is only half an hour away from me currently (for next 5 weeks!), if I can met with fettle and you too (sorry to barge in on you conversation there!), would love to see you guys.

just a quickie from me-

thanks everyone for your very sound advice about dex's weight- as you say, he is a happy chap, so i'll try not to worry too much . He is just going to be 'long and lean' perhaps- not a bad thing!

seaside- glad all going well and hope cassius continues to be a relaxed baby .

right- gotta go, back later with proper catch up xx

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 31/01/2008 15:18

good point about the weight height head thing fettle. think its just a general rule that all 3 should be on the same sort of centile. and it seemed to make sense with marcy. poor you with your sore bits........one of my friends suffered like that after an episiotomy too. ouch.

bodders - glad your an alchoholic too! kiki was 7lb 7z when born too......bang on average!! i had forgotten all about choosters charity fund!!!

seaside - hiya!!!!!!!!! glad i can be of use! and i am certainly the queen of formula the amount my 3 have guzzled in their time!!!! this time my hv told me to use ready made for the first 4 weeks cos something in the way the powder is made isnt comletely sterile or something...................much easier anyway, so i did for 4 wks then went onto powdfered stuff. never heated the bottles cos marcy isnt bothered. when i go out i take a bottle with the right amount of sterilised water in and the right amount of scoops of powder in one of those avent containers. this is what i have always done although i am sure there are slightly different guidelines now.!!! i had piles too! they are fine now, the cream is fab! yours shouldnt last too long.

iampg - i tried the acupressure points. search them on the internet. there is one on your hand and one near your ankle. i prodded them for ages and tghen had marcy the next day, but i had had a sweep the day before too!

ohoh oh! i am so jealous of you all meeting up. honey..........shall we meet??/

rainbowdays · 31/01/2008 16:41

Honeyapple - just another reassurance re weight, breastfed babies should have different weight charts to bottle fed babies, I have a link somewhere (think it is on La Leche League website) that shows that bottle fed babies are heavier and gain weight more in the first weeks than bf babies. But the standard is to use bottle-fed baby percentile charts..... do not worry, I have been told that as long as the baby is doing wet and some dirty nappies and is not loosing weight, there is no problem. If I can find the link to the breastfeed baby weight centile chart I will put it here for you.

fettleandbabyfettle · 31/01/2008 21:48

Seaside - so pleased to hear all is going well with you and that Cassius is settling into life so well. Glad the jaundice has cleared up so quickly as well. Don't worry about the breast-feeding - there is no point doing anything that either you or Cassius are not happy with! Happy mummy = happy baby, so they say!!. Re formula feeding, I was feeling the same the other day, thinking I'm clueless as to how you are actually supposed to hold this bottle in their mouth to try and encourage them to drink it!! But with DD, I also used those Avent powder dispenser holder things and then brought bottles of sterilised water with me to make up when necessary (I think that Tesco's may sell an own-brand version now, as I saw my friend with one the other day). Glad you are managing to get some sleep - hope it lasts for you. I distinctly remember saying that Toby never did anything but sleep and now look at him!!!

I'm glad you admitted to being an alcoholic too Bodders - didn't want to admit that up until recently, I'd been having at least 1 glass of wine a night!! (only really stopped as DH doesn't seem capable of stopping at one glass and was polishing off the rest of the bottle each evening, so I'm sacrificing my 1 glass in favour of his liver!!). Definitely good plan to meet up then - it is about 1.5 hours from me, so a bit further - DH felt it was miles away though! Unsure about elder DDs - it would be lovely to see how they got on, but they could be monkeys!! Maybe we should go for a Saturday meet and bring DPs/DHs - but how would you explain that to your DP - is he still totally in the dark about your secret on-line life?! Also might be a push for time to do it in a school day, although if I left straight after drop-off, I could be there by 10.30 and then would have to leave by 1pm to really make sure I was back by 3.30pm to collect DD. It is half-term the week after next, so I could maybe persuade DH to take a day off, so he could come too - he could then amuse the 3 yr olds, while we cuddle babies (and admire Rainbows bump if she comes too!). Let's discuss it off-line by e-mail - bit funny arranging meeting in too much detail on here, as I know that we are stalked by others! (discovered on another thread that someone had copied and pasted Chooster's announcement about MrsMc!!)

Thanks for enlightening me on the Tummy Ache game - will have to look out for it. Like Firsty, I assume it was some perverse form of doctors and nurses you lot played!!!

Thanks for your reassurances re my sore bits!! I too had forgotten about the CFF!!! (Chooster Fanjo Fund!!)

Rainbowy - tough decision about your friend - but you musn't do too much yourself - it is a long way to drive - particularly this weekend as the weather is due to be pretty dreadful. I would keep an ear on her voice - you can always change your mind, if you feel that she really really needs you - you sound like a great friend to her!

poor DD does have a urine infection - feel really bad it has taken me so long to take her to the doctor - no wonder she's been feeling so tired for such a long time and we've been having the odd wee accident, which we've not had for ages. Hopefully the antibiotics will clear it up and she'll be back to normal quickly.

Right - must go sleeping - so big waves to all I've not mentioned! Had a reasonably good night last night. Toby woke at 2.30 and then not til 5.45, but will probably wake more tonight.

Oh by the way, met a friend for lunch today and found out she's a Mumsnet user too! We weren't sure of the etiquette on whether we should out ourselves with our usernames? What do you lot think? I wasn't fussed either way, as long as she didn't mind reading about my sex life and other dull stuff!!

oooh - mustn't forget to send some labour vibes to Iampg - can't remember who said it, but try changing your name to Iwillbeinlabourimminently!

honeyapple · 01/02/2008 09:03

morning

Iampg- still pg?? Hope it's going well if things have kicked off.

Greedy- ooh yes lets meet! Lakeside?? What if we hate each other in RL?? !!

Rainbow- difficult situation for you. I think I would personally go and visit your friend now- as it will only get more difficult when your baby is here. But agree with the others about looking out for yourself too. Thanks for the BF info. I have been doing a bit of googling and feel a lot less bothered about it now. So long as Dex is happy and putting on some weight- means I dont have to buy new clothes or nappies for a while!

Firsty- how was Ty last night?

Fettle- poor you with your sore underneath . When are you having it sorted? Hope DD gets better with the antibiotics.

Mrs- where are you??

OP posts:
rainbowdays · 01/02/2008 12:06

Hi all,

well the question of whether I should visit this weekend, was answered last night, when I landed in hospital myself! Nothing too serious just my voice-box going into spasm and not being able to breathe properly!!! Was not pleasant. Anyway all fine now and been told to take gavison every night now as they think that it was acid reflux that triggered it. It was interesting working hard to breathe, no voice and trying to answer the doctors questions! Anyway back at work now, for those who know where I work will see the slightly amusing side to this!
But it does mean no travelling this weekend as need time to rest. Fortunately it looks like my friends husband has turned a corner and yesterday although still critical, he was definitely improving, with making a little more sence. Time will tell if there has been any permanent damage.

Iam(pg/having baby/new mummy) which are you I wonder. So exciting knowing that you will soon be doing a birth announcement too.

Mrs - hope you are enjoying being a new mum and not getting too tired.

Fettle - hope your daughters infection clears up really quickly poor girl.

OK got to get back to work....

im getting a tad emotional now - keep thinking about induction and the more likely it is going to be it really does scare me and anger me that all of my hopes for a natural birth are going to be shattered. i dont want my first birth experience to be a negative one but i feel thats the way its heading - and NOTHING is budging this baby at the moment!!!
i waited to be pregnant so long and i feel selfish wishing for it to be over especially when i think of our buddies on the other thread but 9 months is a long time and i just want to meet my baby!!!!!

greedy - interesting about the accupressure points, with my tens machine i got a whole book on different pressure points to do different things so will have a more in depth look at that and see if it helps.

got to go being nagged about leaving tv on - the joys of having dps at home

iampg- sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down- I totally understand! It is horrible going over your due date. You know you dont have to be induced just because you are 10 days over- if you are healthy (which you sound) there is no reason why you cant be left to go into labour naturally. I really think there is nothing to do but wait convinced that no manner of methods help- baby will come when he is ready. He is just SO comfy and snug inside you . BTW the supposedly labour inducing stuff in semen works better orally ...apparently ...

Firsty- congrats on your night with Ty . Dont worry about waking up the girls at the weekend! Getting Ty into a better sleeping pattern is much more important.
