Morning all

Dex did another stupendous sleep... had to wake him up to feed him and take DC to school. Fingers crossed this is a pattern he is going to stick to.

Fettle- hope Toby is ok with the jabs... Dex has got his 2nd lot next week. What is the third injection for? Did they do the polio one in his mouth yet? Dex only had 2 jabs first time around. That Messiah was a bit gruesome!

mrs- any action overnight?

Seaside and Iampg- a lot of the lovely ladies on here were early- Bodders you were 38 wks, i think??

Sorry- so excited about the pending births that I cant remember what I was going to say to anyone else!

firsty - First Shag After Birth/Baby!! fettle has finally been serviced!

chooster - glad your weekend was so nice........well, most of it. i have always had a bit of a fear of passing out, has it happened to you before or did it really freak you out?

fettle - i will try and meeet up that day too. 3 of them on the train will be fun! (for them, not me!)but i reckon its do-able.

ellis' sports day was completely non competetive! very cute, but nothing to cheer for! it amazes me how fidgety 60 5 year olds can be! it was one whole field of fidgety kids jumping over hurdles and running round cones!

iamamummy - how is your baby making going? still ttc or changed your mind?

i got the wrong end of the stick from my sis apparently she isnt giving up just yet which is good news! she is going to keep ttc until the end of the year so lots more chances yet.

better go, my bed is really calling.......after being an angel for ages, marcy was a pickle last night!........(and when i say pickle i mean complete pain in the arse nightmare baby!)

bodders - i am going to the 'festival of the 3 foot people' tomorrow with marcy and kiki! not quite glastonbury, but still a festival of sorts!

babylove123 · 03/07/2008 10:04

Hi Guys,

Who is enjoying the lovely British weather eh?! One minute its sunny, the next raining. I would appreciate the sun to get my washing dry!!!!

Bodkin - glad to hear they had a good time @ Glasto. Cant say it is my thing but it is all an experience!!!! Glad you had a good weekend in London too, sounds very nice. Time away is something we all need sometimes! My next midwife apt is not for another 6 weeks! I think it is pretty crap how sparse these appointments are. A lot happens from week 16 to week 25!!!!! DP and i are celebrating the big 20 week on Saturday and are looking forward to it! I dont know why, it just kinda feels like it is a really happening then. A bit like when you turn 18 you feel like an adult, not that you're any different from being 17 and 363 days!!!! lol. We have our scan next Wed @ 4pm so keep your fingers crossed pl! Got a bit upset last night because i want to find out the sex but i stroll round mothercare etc now and go round all the store saying "oh how sweet" to the little dresses and "oh how handsome" to the boys little combat trousers etc but feel miserable when i can only go to the unisex section! Hence y i want to find out the sex and anyway, its not like i cld change it if i wanted to! However it will seem strange not being able to visit either the boys or girls section. Does that make me sound strange?!

Greedy - Hehe @ Marcy, girl has got her priorities right! Look after number 1! Awwww did Ellis win any of his races? I used to love sports day as a kid but you do get bored waiting around for your turn! Sorry to hear about your sis. Sorry if i have the wrong end of the stick but when you say she is artificially insemninating, is it a "home" try or medically? Clarify it for me and then i can add my extra bit, lol. Lmao at Fettle being "serviced"!

Fettle - Go you! Hope it was good

Chooster - Awwww Babylove junior! I read your post out to DP and he said the same! lol. Babylove junior is doing ok now thank you, still quieter than normal but he/she does give their mummy a kick once in a while to say "yeh im alright!" Wow, sorry to hear about you passing out in the bath, lucky you had no injuries - that could have been nasty!

Iamamummy - Yeh will keep an eye on the kicks. I am glad i went to hospital last week, they probably think i am over-reacting but i'd never forgive myself if i let my embaressment rule my head and something was wrong. Awwww little Oscar is teething is he? Bless him!

Firststar - im ok thank you for asking. Cub is still quiet in comparrison to what he/she used to get up to but they certainly let me know at least 3 times a day that they're ok. Was a bit miffed because the cot mobile i wanted has been out of stock for weeks and finally came back in yesterday so i got my dad to pick one up when he was in town and when he came home, i opened it and its scratched Thing is, our local Argos is 18 miles each way away anyway and with the local roadworks, it is taking about 3 hrs to do that journey so i am not impressed!

Right, better go do some work, lol.

Speak soon.

greedygreedyguzzler · 04/07/2008 20:22

hello all! was expecting it to be busy on here but its not at all!!!

had a great few days here! went to the 3 ft people festival yesterday and it was lovely! so much to do for the under 5s!! theu should really do one everywhere and it was only £2 and 50p for marcy (not that she did much apart from jig to the music!!) kiki made a lovely wand with the fairyland trust people who were there! a real proper wand made from winter willow! good for doing water spells apparently!!! .........now who was it that was into spells...................was that you seaside if you are lurking.................i am sure i remember some strange times you and londonlottie had with casting fertility spells or something!!!

anyway - had a lovely day today too despite kiki coming out in chicken pox this morning!!! poor little thng is COVERED!!! she seems fine so far though and not at all arsed about them.............its bound to get worse ..................and then in 2 weeks time marcymoo will no doubt get them! good to get it out of the way though!!

on my own tonight...........dh has gone for a boys night out with all the NCT dads (from when we had Ellis!). so babylove if you are reading.............make sure you try and go to NCT classes cos we have made some really good friends from them and are all still in touch, in fact we might even be going on holiday with one 'NCT' family later on this year!

got a karate comp for ellis tomorrow and he wants to win SO MUCH bless him. i really hope he does (obviously!!!) then a messy play day organised by the preschool after that!!.....which i have agreed to help out with (not sure whats wrong with me, all this volunteering i have been doing recently! its not like me at all!!!)

babylove - will you be finding out the sex then at your next scan?

cityangel? where are you? are you a mummy yet?!!!

fettle · 04/07/2008 20:34

Only got a second - it's so quiet on here though - agree with you Greedy!!

Can you pass some chicken pox this way? Want to get Toby to have it quite young as i'm sure it is easier on them. Some of DD's male school friends still haven't had it and they really need to have it soon don't they?!

Big waves to everyone - hope you are all doing well.

Can i just say how utterly in love I am with my son? he is jsut so scrummy! (bit unsettled today, as he has conjunctivitis in both eyes and very dribbly and snotty, so probably teething again, but he's still so much fun!!!!)

Best go - DH is hovering wanting me to help him!!!!

xxx

Chooster · 05/07/2008 10:36

Aw, great to hear you loving being with toby so much Fettle !! ... Baby boys can be so 'squeezy' can't they. Theo is having a particularly cute phase too - hope it lasts until his christening next weekend and he doesn't get a cold or anything.

Greedy - Hope Kiki is still doing Ok. It would be such a result if she got this out the way without being poorly with it. Hopefully if she's already covered she's well on her way now with it. Max didn't have many spots but was really run down with it all. And no I'd never fainted before so I found the whole thing really wierd! I didn't get much warning either...

I can totally understand the 20-week celebration babylove - once you are passed 20 weeks, you kind of really do feel pregnant dont you!!! Just wait til your celebrating getting over 30 weeks.... then cursing at 40 weeks os you want your baby out . Good luck with the scan! . Do Argos do postal returns for damaged goods??

Hi Firsty! How's things? Was Ty Ok in the end? I know what you mean about being a working mum and away from them. Is there any opportunity for you to drop a day or is it a choice?? I'm back at work next Monday and am really NOT looking forward to it. I'm not dreading it but...

Right, better head off - hi to those I've missed! where is Cityangel? Hope you are OK. I thought about you actually at the weekend as we met my cousin for a drink in Canary Wharf and then walked abck to Tower bridge along the Thames Path. I seem to remember you liv in one of the flats overlooking the river.

Better go - Dh's Grans 80th b'day party this afternoon. Not got her a present yet... ooops

fettle · 07/07/2008 16:23

Thought I just make sure we didn't vanish into the abyss of ancient unread threads!!!!

babylove123 · 07/07/2008 20:03

Hi Everyone,

Blimey it is quiet on here!

Greedy - Ooooh your festival sounds nice, glad the weather held out for you! How is kiki and the chickenpox? Did Ellis win his karate competition? As for the NCT classes, we're def going! Im hoping we will make some friends because being younger means that none of our friends have or are interested in children! Its just booze, free sex and more booze! Dont get me wrong, if that makes them happy then go for it but we're quite different! Yes we're going to be finding out the sex, we need to know if cub is a girl or a boy! We've stocked up loads, infact w're nearly ready for this baby and im ready to do the final bits - buying the cute outfits!!!! We've got the unisex babygrows etc so now i either need some dresses or some combats, lol.

Fettle - How is toby getting on?

Chooster - Didnt really do much to celebrate the 20 week mark! We're counting down the days to our scan now so our minds are focused on that!!!! Our hospital is not far from Argos so im going to take the mobile in and change it that day - i also need to get some D batteries because we only have C ones here! How was your first day back at work?! i had a crappy one today, my boss is on hol so im covering and being the only girl means the other guys were playing what i call the "penis card". Its like "yeh i have a penis so you have to do what i say".......yeh right!!!! How did DH's grans party go?!

Right, best be off. DP is making some pancakes!!!! ooooh!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 08/07/2008 13:00

missed that you were back at work chooster. how many days are you doing? whats it like being child free? kiki is not doing well with her chicken pox anymore! she has such a high temperature, but the calpol/nurofen alternating seems to be working to keep it down. dh is away for 3 nights too so i am having to deal with the disturbed nights on my own................just waiting for mooster to get it now. when ellis got it he had about 20 spots, poor little kiki has more like 20,000.....shes got them inside her mouth , up her nose, on her bits, all over her scalp. i feel so sorry for her.

why is it so quiet on here then?

do you think cityangel has had her babe yet then?

babylove - you sound so much more grown up than i was at your age............i think i was more like your friends you described!!!

god this weather is rubbish and so strange......sun one minute then rain the next! i am hoping for sunshine for ellis' party on sunday otherwise i am buggered and will have to entertain 30+ kids in the rain! keep telling dh that i am panicking and he keeps saying "it will be fine!!!"......thats his answer to everything. might leave him to entertain the kids if he thinks it will be so fine!!!

better go, next patient is due.......

Hi Guys,

Wow, wot a lovely day!

Well today is THE day - am as nervous as hell. No one understands why im so scared but i truely am! Everyone thinks it is a joyous occasion going to the scan but i see it as the opportunity to face a problem. Lets face it, i havent had the best pregnancy, was on pills for hyperemesis, have had to have anti-biotics twice for infections. Im sure i've had the odd day where i've drunk too much caffiene and now i simply see it as the chance to regret it all. I know i couldnt have lived without the pills for the hyperemesis, the baby would most probably have died anyway from lack of fluid if i hadnt taken them but i sit and wonder if i've put him/her at risk. Overall im feeling pretty down and have been for the last couple of days.

Am toying with whether finding out the sex is right. I dont mind if i have a boy or a girl and although i reckon it is a girl, im not that sure so it wont be a surprise if its a boy. Then i think to myself that i should wait but hey ho, im never going to be able to change him/her now anyway so what is the point? I might aswell know and then at least i dont have to get everything in white and yellow! I just have this gut feeling that whatever i do i'll be kicking myself. If i find out the sex, i'll feel down at myself for having done so yet if i dont, i'll regret having to wait. I thought about asking them to write it down but i'll just look at it so theres no point. Sigh - what you do you think? Think im being nuts?

Greedy - Sorry to hear Kiki isnt too good with the chickenpox, best to get it done and out of the way though - even if you dont feel like that at the time! Haha at me being grown up! I guess i have always been well ahead of my time, i was the loner at school because i didnt think it was fun to be out drinking and trying to find boys! I was more interested in going bowling and bike riding, lol. I guess having met DP when i was 17, him 16 and us moving in together after 8 months meant we grew up a lot faster, taking on household responsibilities. Thats why we bought our house and decided to start our family, we've done it for the last 4 yrs! I hope the weather does pick up for the party, i have to say, my DP wld say the same as your DH! Dont think they grasp the whole thing sometimes until it is too late. Give him a good kick up the ass

Firststar - Lol, if this baby is anything to go by, he/she will have their legs firmly closed! They're kicking me at the moment so i think its a sign that they arent going to play ball! Wouldnt surprise me, it is daddys child after all! DP just txt me saying hes so excited at work, cant concentrate. Just wish i had the same enthusiasm! Well done for the weight loss, it is good when you get a boost like that! I lost 27lbs in my first 10 weeks of pregnancy and according to my book, i should have gained around 10 - 15lbs by now. I've put back on 5 which i think is great considering i went from eating nothing back to "normal" so i expected it to pile on. I may regret saying this but i cant believe im 1 of those women who usually looks at a cake and puts 2lbs on, i thought pregnancy wld make me huge but i seem to be keeping it off! And yet im going thru a kilo of cheese every 3 weeks !

Happy birthday to Isla too! Woohoo! Hope the weather picks up a bit!

Keep your fingers crossed today please.......!

iamamummy · 09/07/2008 10:44

happy birthday isla!!!! wow cant believe we have our first birthday!!

babylove - hope the scan goes well today! i found out the sex at 16 weeks and loved knowing as we put a "name" to the baby and made everything more real. but its your decision so whatever is best for you.

no time to post properly ladies. love to all xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 09/07/2008 12:19

happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to you,
happy birthday dear isla the smiler,
happy birthday to you!!!

honeyapple · 09/07/2008 14:43

happy birthday Isla!!

babylove- enjoy your scan .

Sorry havent been about... had some awful news from a very close friend of mine- she's been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's even more awful cos she is 30wks pregnant. She's had an operation to remove the lump- but has been told it has spread to her lymph glands. She is starting chemo soon. The whole thing is just too horrendous. I'm in a bit of a state of shock. I'm not sure about the effect on the baby- she may decide to have it prematurely- but is waiting for the doctors to decide the best. She has an 18mth old daughter too.

Love to all xx

Hi,

Honeyapple - so sorry to hear the news however have plenty of hope, my auntie was diagnosed with 3rd stage cancer incl spreading to her lymph glands but shes ok now!!!! Medicine is wonderful these days. Lots of luck to her.

Well we had the scan and we're having a................................................................................................... ....................................

boy or girl! Little bugger was laying the wrong way! It was very scary, it looked like an alien! baby was head up under my bellybutton, legs down in bottom of my pelvis so completely vertical and facing out into the world! They tried everything to make it move, walking, going for a wee - nope, it wasnt shifting! They managed to do most of their checks and were happy that it is a happy & healthy baby but they couldnt check the heart properly so we have to go back on 21st for another one! Typical - it was inevitable! Cant say i wasnt disappointed but i saw all the little fingers and toes, he/she waved too! We had a laugh because i asked about the length of the legs (DP is 6'6) and she said "yeh, they're are above average"! Baby has given me two massive kicks tonight - think its their way of saying "ha, in your face mummy!"

Chooster · 09/07/2008 21:25

Oh Honeyapple, thats such awful news about your friend. Its the kind of thing you have nightmares about isn't it, especially as a mum. . It must be so devastating for her... How old is she?

Happy Birthday Isla!!!! . Hope you are having a great day (well I guess its all over for you now! . Did you all have fun Bodders? Did Nelly enjoy it? I think Max will want to play with all theo's pressies when its his big day on Sunday, but I'm sure Theo wont mind! . Max is his hero at the moment .

I'm back at work this monday coming Greedy - yup part time in the end. 3 days in the office but I have to make up an extra 7 hours at home either in the evenings or on a Friday. I've got the kids booked into nursery on a Friday morning just to make sure I get it all done. So they'll be in 2 and a half days a week which I'm reasonably happy with. I'm still going to miss the little one like mad!!! I wont see Max any less so I dont feel bad about that, just little Theo . But needs must.... although I haven't ruled out dropping another 7 hours if its not working.

Hi Firsty - how's things? Sorry that your job isn't more flexible for you, but as I sadi above, needs must and you mustn't feel too bad for having to work. Ty sounds like he's doing really well and is obviously well cared for by your mum .

Aw, babylove - that little tinker!!!! facing the wrong way. At least you may find out when you go on the 21st??? But he / she sounds like a (long) healthy baby which is great news . Wow, 6ft 6"!!!!!.

All is going well here... Just doing final prep for Theo's birthday / christening. All sorted I think including £300 worth of wine / beer!!! Lets just hope we get some sunshine!!! Fingers crossed ladies!

seaside72 · 09/07/2008 22:03

Hi all -just a quickie to say have been thinking about Isla today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! - Hope she had a lovely day at Bodkin Towers

honey - so so sorry about your friend that is just too awful. I will hope and pray for a good outcome for Mum and baby.

babylove - yippee - scan stories glad you got to see some good images but LOL about baby not flashing privates maybe on the next scan. We found out the sex - at 12 weeks the sonograoher said 70% boy and then confirmed at 20 weeks and I was really pleased/happy to now as it helped me prepare - but then I am a freak about preparation - my friends call me Monica

sorry time to post more- have visitors staying so better go and be sociable
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

honeyapple · 10/07/2008 10:36

Thanks all. Chooster- she is only 34yrs old. Havent heard anything from her for a few days now- have emailed her. Babylove- I hope the medicines will sort it all out- thanks for the story of your aunt.

Babylove- glad the scan was good- shame you couldnt see the sex- same happened with my DD. I found out for both boys though. I think maybe it is easier to see if it is a boy!

Dexter is really starting to move now. I put him down and then discover he's somehow moved across the room and is playing with something totally inappropriate- wires/plugs/coal bucket etc etc... And he can now get back to a sitting position from his tummy (although I am yet to actually witness him doing this ). He is almost standing by himself too which is a little scary.

As for the house- the sellers are being particularly slow to respond to our solicitor's enquiries... so much so that I actually rang them the other day to ask what was up! Apparently she had been away for a couple of days so he decided to wait for her to get back so that they could fill out the forms 'together'... blimey! Is it just me who thinks this is slightly anal??? They are like a couple out of creature comforts. So anyway- hoping to move 2nd week in august...

just put a pic of my boys together with their matching pjs on .

babylove123 · 10/07/2008 11:47

Hi Guys,

Woohoo the weather has picked up today! Im sure it wont last but hey, it is better than rain!!!!

Chooster - Good luck for work next week then, glad you have been able to negotiate to something you're comfortable with. Im sure little Theo will love nursery, it is just us mums that worry about them! Hehe at my tinker, when they made me go for a wee i said to the bump "come on little one, move for mummy, help mummy out here" - nope! Good luck for the Christening, when is it again?

Seaside - Originally we asked my sis to come to my 20 week scan but she is away abroad on a business trip and is miffed she couldnt come. (im the first to have a baby) and when i spoke to her last night on Skype she was so excited - she reckons that he/she was waiting for Auntie to be able to come so shes well chuffed she can come on 21st! Dont tell me he/she is going to dis-obey mummy and no one else?! Oh and by the way, DP calls me Monica too, im terrible!

Honeyapple - I know how upset you must be at the moment and having hope is the hardest thing you can try to do but you must. We all know the worst can happen so we must be prepared but there are some seriously lucky people out there who pull through and you have to asume your friend will be one of them. Your stregth will help her too and will help her to keep her life as "normal" as poss for her children. You need to be her backbone and keep her going. Obviously im not saying you dont have the right to worry and be upset - of course you do but trust me, i've watched my aunt go through operations, rounds of radio and chemo and medication thinking to myself that would it really work but we're 3 yrs on and shes still here! I wont lie, your friend is in for a rough ride but im sure with everyones support she can do it! Good luck As for my scan, i guess it would be easier to see if it was a boy! I have money riding on this little one being a girl! Maybe she was protecting her modesty! Hehe at Dexter moving, its like out of the cartoons isnt it where you're watching them for ages and they dont move yet you turn around for 1 second and they're gone! Good luck for your move, unfortunately you get people who are pains in the arses and take things how they want to with no consideration for others involved.............keep pushing on and before you know it, it'll all be done!

Right, lunchtime me thinks! Woo, about bloody time! Have to satisfy my craving of cheese (going through like a kilo every 3 weeks [blush[)

Bodkin · 10/07/2008 12:12

Hey all! Thanks for all your birthday wishes - sorry I wasn't on here yesterday but we've got friends staying and it's kind of chaotic with a 1 year old, 2 year old, 3 year old and 4 year old all needing different things at different times!

Had a lovely day - Isla really enjoyed her (very little) party we threw and she LOVED the smarties on her cake! she's totally adorable at the moment - very cute and engaging and always trying to attract the attention of random strangers for a bit of peekaboo action!

Honey - so sorry to hear about your friend, awful news.

Chooster - can't believe your back to work next week Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll soon be back in the swing...

Babylove - just had a quick scan of your post and I gather you couldn't find out the sex... shame, but it'll be a nice surprise...

Fettle - was thinking about taking the girls to Longleat one day in the summer hols, if you fancy meeting up there?

Greedy - your 3ft Festival sounds ace! I want one of those here!

OK, gotta dash - hello everyone else...
