Morning all

Dex did another stupendous sleep... had to wake him up to feed him and take DC to school. Fingers crossed this is a pattern he is going to stick to.

Fettle- hope Toby is ok with the jabs... Dex has got his 2nd lot next week. What is the third injection for? Did they do the polio one in his mouth yet? Dex only had 2 jabs first time around. That Messiah was a bit gruesome!

mrs- any action overnight?

Seaside and Iampg- a lot of the lovely ladies on here were early- Bodders you were 38 wks, i think??

Sorry- so excited about the pending births that I cant remember what I was going to say to anyone else!

Ready · 22/04/2008 18:44

Thanks greedy... all tests clear last year, next step was ivf, we were (and are still) not ready for that step. Have since moved, and as soon as I start my new job I will get the ball rolling again and get on a waiting list for ivf (although going to ask for iui first) - meanwhile I am kind of taking your advice. Going on holiday in 6 weeks, and totally looking forward to that.

Sorry for barging in earlier. I was being daft.

minxi · 22/04/2008 19:22

Well done scorpio congratulations!

grrr....Just poured myself a small glass of wine only to have knocked it all over the pc! Pc is dripping wine and keyboard will probably become sticky... lap it up now you have had your babes

Hope you are all well.... as you can see from the ttc threads - we are still here! Not sure what emoticon to put as there doesn't seem to be a [fed-up] one there! Its not so much the planning or ttc its the "relaxing" and the amount of sex we need to throw in!!

I do like lurking in to read all your lovely stories though!! byeeeee

Bodkin · 22/04/2008 20:22

Ready - you barge in anytime you like - flippin eck - 21 cycles - am sure it feels like even longer for you. How frustrating that they haven't found anything obvious that is causing the problem - at least if you knew what the medical issue was you could address it.

Where are you going on your holiday? - hope it's somewhere very exotic and gorgeous.....

Hi everyone else...

Scorpio - Congratulations! Fantastic news and well done on the BFing - lovely pictures - you look like a dab hand!

Greedy - sounds like an eventful night - hope you get a better one tonight.

Honey - Can't believe your DD sleeping through at 6 weeks! Shame Dex has forgotton how to! Am sure he'll get back into his groove soon.

Firsty - you are a busy bee - nice to see you whenever you can pop in though

Chooster - love your story of Max and his too-tight batman (or was it spiderman) outfit! Hope you have a great time at Centerparcs.

Fettle - can't believe old rollin' Toby! He's going to be as athletic as your DD by the sounds of it!

Hi Minxi

Poor old Nelly has had a horrible sore throat virus thingy for the last 3 days - soooo poorly! Have been administering either calpol/profen every 3 hours, she is in agony and has had to resort to having a spitoon as she just couldn't swallow a thing. Hope she isn't going to be prone to sore throats - both me and DP were as kids and the GP pointed out once that she has very large tonsils anyway. She did make me chuckle though, she kept saying she thought she had a finger in her throat at first and I had no idea what she meant... it was only when I looked and saw that her tonsils were virtually touching that I realised the problem! Seemed much better this evening though, hopefully we are over the worst now.

Bodkin · 22/04/2008 20:27

Just seen your new pics Greedy - your brood look fab! I see what you mean about Marcy's lovely head of hair! Isla still just has a light whispy dusting, but it has started going a bit fairer over the last few days.

right, gonna put a more recent one up myself!

Bodkin · 22/04/2008 20:38

The caption hasn't come out very clearly on the top one, but basically, I'm in the middle, with DD1 and 2 either side. I think Isla looks like a mirror image of me!

The rug is the same one that I'm photographed on, but a bit more threadbare now!

honeyapple · 23/04/2008 11:42

morning all

Bodders- I know, I couldnt believe it either but DD slept all night 10pm-7am from 6 wks old. It was kind of pleasure and pain as my boobs by the morning were horrendous! Had to sleep with a towel wrapped around me cos I leaked so much. Anyway- no such luck with Dex. Last night I was so tired that after watching Waking the Dead I went to bed in my clothes! Couldnt be bothered to take them off!! I think DP must have removed them later ... Dex is SO snotty at the moment so I cant really blame him for waking up in the night- the problem is he just cannot get back to sleep himself. DD sucked her thumb (still does) and that definitely helped her to sleep.
Hope Nellie is better soon- I think it's going about. My DS1 had a terrible sore throat for a couple of days- never seen him so pathetic- he couldnt swallow anything either. GP said it was virus too.

Got a really weird thing to ask you lot... yesterday DD came home from school and took her top off cos she was hot... and then she said that her armpits smelt- and I thought she was joking- so had a sniff and it was like proper BO. She is only 5. Now I am getting a bit paranoid that she is going to have precocious puberty... she is the tallest in her class as well- and people always comment on her height- anyone got any advice? Or know of similar? Googling it just makes me more worried- reading of tumours etc...[worried emoticon]

Ready- hello gorgeous-please please come and say hi whenever you feel like it. Have a super holiday- where are you going? 21 cycles is a long time I really hope the waiting list for the IUI is short- do you have any idea of waiting times? Meanwhile agree with everything already said- enjoy your holiday, get blind drunk at least once and eat whatever you like.

Chooster- hope you are enjoing centreparcs- werent you there recently? Or was that Bodders?

minxi- hello . Sympathise with your frustration.

The other day my DD was talking about wanting a girl baby next! DP said I wouldnt be having it with him! Cheeky bugger. So perhaps 3 is my lot...

honeyapple · 23/04/2008 11:45

lovely pics bodders- Isla looks so happy. Lovely ones of you and your DDs- very alike. That rug is a serious heirloom.

OP posts:
honeyapple · 23/04/2008 11:46

greedy- loving marcy's hair. DP cut Dex's last night . He did it while giving him a bath- Dex has practically got a crew cut. Think DP got a bit scissor happy. Can't complain cos at least he was giving Dex a bath!

greedygreedyguzzler · 23/04/2008 13:03

hiya minxi! cant quite believe you are still on the other side too. esp as your body has done it twice before so you would think it should know what its doing. i am sure you and ready will end up graduating the same month.......how cool would that be. and we def need some pg women on this thread as we dont have any anymore!

poor nelly bodders. love your pics! i would have no idea how to get a baby pic of me on the pc so i could never do that! your 2 girls do look very similar. in the photo of nelly next to isla you can really see they are sisters! i love nelly describing her throat! they seem to have such an accurate way of describing things dont they? as i am typing this i am desperately trying to remember what ds told me the other day to describe a headache that he had, but obviously i cant! it was very clever and accurate though!!!!..........did hear ellis sying to macy last night as he was holding her in the bath............." it tickles my willy when you spash your legs!"................and then 2 minutes later kiki said............."i am going to pull your willy for you ellis1!!!"................YIKES! my mum was there too and she went a bit pink and quickly started trying to distract kiki!

much better sleep last night thank goodness.............they all slept beautifully till 7.05am..............either that or i had had too much wine to hear them when they woke up!!

honey - how tall is dd then? is she abnormally tall? i am sure she would get other signs if she was going to go through puberty early. never noticed BO on any of mine, but i will have a good old sniff later! my dd1 wants twin girls next! so think yourself lucky your dd only wants one!!! and you never answered my question about your honey fetish....whats it all about?! did you get my text?

have another pic to put on my profile just so you can all see how curly marcys hair is when wet! she looks so cute and so different!

greedygreedyguzzler · 23/04/2008 13:04

minxi...you have got 2 kids havent you? or have i got you muddled up with someone else?

greedygreedyguzzler · 23/04/2008 13:09

actually you cant see her curly hair very clearly at all on that pic. she is super curly though!.................i've never had a curly one before.....can you tell!!!

ok.........i'll shut up now!

fettleandbabyfettle · 23/04/2008 16:20

Hi all

Just being quick as feel like not had a chance to post for a few days!

Hello Ready and Minxi - you are always welcome here. So wish it would have soon for you. Take heart is took me 2 years to get pg with DD, although I'll have to be honest and say that I only had 8-10 periods a year, so probably around 20 cycles in total. Don't give up hope - but as the others have said enjoy your life as it is and see what happens (DD was conceived on a very drunken holiday, after we'd given up trying!)

Greedy - Marcy's curls are gorgeous!! Where she get them from then??!

Bodders - poor little Nelly - hope she picks up soon. How is Isla at the moment, smiler or grizzler?

Honey - I can't help with the BO question, but I'll have a sniff of DD later. Don't goggle anything, always more scary than it is. Maybe give your HV a call (you have a good one don't you, or is that greedy??) You do realise that Greedy isn't going to stop Texting you now don't you?!

Firsty - hope you're happily busy, not stressily frantic?

Hope all the newish babies are still doing well? hope you come back and visit us soon, Seaside, Iamamum, Mrs, Scorpio (have I missed anyone?).

Greedy - don't forget Cityangel - she's still around a bit isn't she and pg?

My little Toby is not sleeping at all well - been really grumpy today as well, so either teeth or another cold as he is snotty and watery eyes as well. Off to London tonight with Toby for an appointment tomorrow, so leaving DD and DH alone (as I am next week while I'm with my friend). Sure they will be fine, but it will be strange going away with just Toby - hope he's a good boy tomorrow.

Right, must cook supper and make lunches for tomorrow and pack and bath and feed Toby and summon some energy from somewhere to drive this evening!!!!

Take care all
xxx

seaside72 · 24/04/2008 22:32

Ok - cold barely find our thread as it was so LOW down!! So gotta bump it up - I keep trying to post but there is too much to say/catch up on! So I am just going to post bits and bobs as I remember

All the new pics are gorgeous btw

Rainbow - not sure if I already posted congrats - but CONGRATULATIONS

Scorpio - CONGRATULATIONS too - and well done on the bf!

Bodders sorry about nursery woes and poor Nelly's throat - ouch

Ready and Minxi - You should just be here anyway - we miss you and want you here asap. (Ready I owe you an email - wil get there soon )

All is well with me and Cassius - he is an absolute star - sleeping in his own room - goes down around 7pm and then dreamfeed at 10.30ish then back down until 6.30am I am loving it while it lasts

Can I just say that the best thing in the world is the smile I get when I look in the cot and say good morning - awww - every day without fail - a huge beaming grin.

I have had my first AF almost exactly a year since my last one - so weird!

Apart form that - things are a bit crap as my cottages are still on the market - everyone loves them but all the bad press is a nightmare and the 2 prospective buyers we have had pulled out cos their sale fell through/mortgage was refused - grrrrr. It is getting pretty tough now as we are seriously over-stretched and have had to shelve all the plans we had for holidays/trips/any extra expenditure. I am meeting my bank manager on Monday {{{quake}}} so scared of what he is going to say

Gotta go - bottle and baby waiting!

Catch up with everyone else asap I promise!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bodkin · 25/04/2008 11:58

Hey, that's weird, I'm sure I posted a message on here after Fettle's yesterday! Where's that gone then. Unless I dreamt it

Anyway - howdy all. Seaside - sounds like you've got this baby business sussed - Fancy coming to Dorset and taking my little pickle in hand

Mind you, so far so good - she has been at nursery on her own since about 10.45 - that's over an hour now and they haven't phoned yet (fingers crossed)... so technically I should be doing something really useful but erm...

Fettle - Thought you'd been a bit quiet! Your road trip with Toby sounds like fun. I'd love to do that, but I don't think for a minute DD1 would let me go off with DD2 without her! She'd go ballistic! There are advantages to having a daddy's girl

Nelly's all better now, more or less, although her breath still smells a bit "poorly" - know what I mean - that funny kind of "chemical" smell - and it's not the calpol, she hasn't had any for a day or so now. Turns out one of the kids at ehr preschool has had Scarlet Fever - sounds quite similar to what Nelly had, although I don't think that's waht it was, just some random virus.

Anyway, gotta go and make use of my baby free time and do some hoovering upstairs!

xx

fettleandbabyfettle · 25/04/2008 14:17

Hello!!

Should be cleaning, but I'm surfing Mumsnet! But can't stop long, just wanted to say to Honey that you should read the thread on front page about tall DC - there are few on there who have said that their DD's are needed deoderant/have smelly armpits at quite an early age. They are wondering if there is a link between that and height (is your DD tall for her age, can't remember?). Suppose Greedy and I will have to watch out of it with our mammoth girls!

right - have to go - Toby has just switched on the DVD player! Why won't he stay still on his mat playing with his toys?!

xxx

ps seaside - great to hear all is well with you - that's great sleeping from Cassius!

glad nelly is better too Bodders - hoping Toby doesn't have an infection with his sexy croaky voice, but he's definitely not very well at the moment, poor wee lamb!

oh and by the way, Toby just downed 5 ozs formula from a cup! So looks like we're going to bypass bottles here! (he's not BF properly for days though - started another thread on that over in the feeding section).

greedygreedyguzzler · 25/04/2008 17:46

well...............had a strange experience today! i was minding my own business wandering around lakeside when this weird woman came up to me and kissed me! claimed she knew me from some dodgy website called mumsnet or something and then forced me to have lunch with her and her baby!!!!

i have posted a pic of the weirdo when she grabbed marcy from me and tried to make a run for it!!!!!

honeyapple · 25/04/2008 18:37

Ha!!
(Totally missed the meeting BTW... just sent an apologetic email to the Chair...)

BTW everyone that Greedy is a RIGHT WEIRDO!!!

OP posts:
honeyapple · 25/04/2008 18:38

did anyone else imagine me blonde??

Fettle- yes DD is tall... will check out that thread....

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 25/04/2008 18:40

whoops honey! i somehow managed to be 15 mins late getting ds from school too even though i thought i had loads of time! luckily someone else got him for me!!! poor little thing!

fettle · 25/04/2008 19:31

Suddenly remembered it was your meeting up day today while I was bathing Toby! Now you're going to get all cliquey on us aren't you? I want to meet up! Bodders you still on for it in few weeks time?

Yup - honey, I think I did imagine you with Honey blond hair to go with your name!!! And Marcy really is huge - she looks taller than Honey!!!

Go on then,is Greedy really as mad as she comes across? - tell us all!

By the way, Toby slept through the night I was in London, but bad night again last night. Think taking him for a 2 hour drive after his bath (2 baths in fact as he was violently sick after the first one!) and then letting him stay up to watch the apprentice and then feeding him and putting him back to bed is a bit of an extreme way to get him to sleep through though - what do you all think?

Got friends coming this weekend and then off to see my friend who lost her baby for next week, so may not be around for a while - I hope it is not too emotional.

xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 25/04/2008 19:52

hiya fettle! i keep coming on here to see if honey has disclosed anything dodgy about me, marcy and kiki but she hasnt...............yet! actually i think both my girls were pretty well behaved apart from one wobbly moment kiki had when i told her not to use her fingers for her omlette! and marcy was closer to the camera than dex or honey so she does look extra huge in that pic! i was surprised honey wasnt blonde and had to stare in her buggy to see if i recognised the baby in there! honey is sickeningly slim i have to say! i knew she would be, but was hoping she might have a bit of baby lard to make me feel a bit better, but she didnt!!
by the way why do i seem mad? you would be surprised how normal i am? and shy too.
me and honey did discuss you lot of course......but you feel such a knob sitting in a public place talking about 'bodkin' and 'chooster' but calling you by your proper names just didnt seem right either!

why did you have to go away with toby? not sure if someone asked and i missed it, just being nosey sorry! i am sure it will be really emotional when you see your friend. are you staying with her? how long for and is it just you or kids too? questions questions!

ok....off to cook dinner. all in bed by 7 tonight cos they were all really tired, so i have strted on the wine extra early tonight.....its normally at least 8 before i start.

ok....one last thing...............anyone who had piles when pg.......have they ever come back? for some reason mine have! (didnt like to mention it today honey, but if i was walking strangely thats why!) and they are agony......much worse than ever before. bodders? i know you suffered..have they ever returned? and dh wonders why i dont fancy sex.............."erm......because i have what looks like a couple of grapes hanging out of my bum!".............LOVELY!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 25/04/2008 19:55

actually after today i want to meet up with more of you!!!! who else is vaguely close? certainly not chooster thats all i know! we should all get the train into london and meet in the summer hols! ............am i getting carried away......?

greedygreedyguzzler · 25/04/2008 20:01

one last thing!..........sorry i have got a life really and i will get back to it in a minute!...honey, did you think i was bad talking about my sis and stuff in front of kiki? it suddenly dawned on me on the way home that maybe i shouldn't discuss that sort of thing in front of her, but she always seems so in her own little world that i dont think she listens or takes any of it in. if it had been ellis i wouldn't have cos i know he would have been asking all sorts of questions. was it bad (please tell me no!!!)

fettle · 25/04/2008 20:23

Greedy - don't really think you're mad! honest! would really love to meet up - feel like I've known you for ages! Long cycle buddy! (I've just had AF again after 6 weeks, far too often for my liking now I'm not trying to get pg!). I'm probably the next nearest to you after Honey - maybe next time you're in Reading! But yes we should try and arrange something to get more of us together at some point - London in the summer may be a good plan.

It is tricky discussing grown up things around little ones - I've started watching what I say around DD as she picks up on everything. She was asking lots of questions about having your tonsils out today (a girl in her class was off last term having hers out) and then asking DH was he going to die and when was he going to die! All related to my friend's baby. She wanted to know if X's baby was in heaven with Jesus (yes, we said), will He feed her breakfast? (yes), will He read her stories (should imagine so), will He let her lie in bed and watch telly with Him on special occasions? (probably!). Was quite sweet actually? But makes you wonder what goes on in their brains while they work things out!

Anyway, I bet you're pretty skinny too Greedy - you've lost lots of weight. I think i'm probably the fattest of the thread!

Right - going to bed now I think - absolutely shattered.

xxx

honeyapple · 25/04/2008 21:33

evening

Greedy- dont worry I think it probably went over Kiki's head, but it is true that kids do take in a lot when you dont realise. My DS1 asked me if his auntie's baby was alright cos he had overheard DP and I talking about her having extra scans (do you remember about that- baby had some cysts in it's brain) anyway the baby is totally fine- but DS1 was obviously quite worried about it.

Fettle- Greedy is unfortuntately totally normal ... however she might have freaked me out if she had mentioned the piles whilst I was tucking in to my croque monsieur. Oooh a big London MN meet up! Marcy and Kiki were lovely- Dex moaned most of the time- think he is a bit under the weather- got the trots a wee bit... Does Toby enjoy the Apprentice then? Did he think Lindy should have gone? . Should have booted the ice/doll face lady IMO.
