I am 31 weeks pregnant with DS2, due end of October. While the pregnancy has no complications (I'm lucky, I know), I had a rough first trimester and now the third trimester has gifted me with sciatica.

All I want to do is lay on the sofa and sleep. I can't though, because DS1 is 27 months and really pushing boundaries. I've got him watching way too much TV, but it's the only way to get through the past couple of weeks.

I hate being pregnant. I want to skip ahead to when DS2 is finally here, when I won't be quite so enormous, when hopefully the sciatica will subside, and when I will be able to properly parent DS1 again (and have cuddles with DS2).

Anyone with me?

Had my baby at 41+1, 3 days before my induction date. Really happy to be starting the rest of my life!

Congratulations @Peasplease12 !! So happy for you!
I'm still here at 41w + 6....!!

Eviction time for baby in 24 hours time if she doesn't show up before then....

And now I've got to this point, I want to stay pregnant forever 😂

It's likely my last pregnancy and I can't believe I'll never feel those little belly wiggles again, or see my bump move like there's an alien in there. I'll soon have a lovely second DD in my arms who will be so very loved... but also change our lives a lot. And instead of sleepless nights because I can't get comfy... I'll be having sleepless nights because of a baby needing me. Wow..... it all seems very really now!!!!!

frenchie4002 · 13/10/2022 13:46

Congrats @Peasplease12 !
I’m 40+5 now with a strong feeling induction is on the cards

@summerlovingvibes fingers crossed for a smooth and safe delivery for you asap!

Keha · 13/10/2022 14:50

@summerlovingvibes it's such a strange feeling, both want them out and want to freeze time. I've probably got 2 or 3 weeks to go, but feel quite similar!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 13/10/2022 21:26

Had my 12 week scan and appointment today - the whole thing was such a mess. Everything fine with the baby, but admin was a shitshow and they were running SO late that I had to skip my NIPT test so I could get to a meeting.

Why do people seem to think you have nothing better to do with your time than be pregnant?! Also, my all carb nausea diet has made me put on half a stone already. Great, fucking GREAT. Doctor's not bothered but I am.

Keha · 24/10/2022 09:42

How's everyone doing? I'm 39+3, starting to notice every twinge but I don't think anything is happening yet. Anyone else with toddlers resorting to a LOT of telly? I tried to get DD to play some games this morning but was getting very uncomfortable sat on the floor, so now back to Hey Duggee. I'm almost looking forward to going to hospital for a change of scenery!

SUSB2016 · 24/10/2022 10:49

@Keha similar boat here! I've been so exhausted we've just had a ton of screen time for the last few weeks :( 38 weeks now and I feel like I'll actually feel less exhausted with a newborn and a toddler than I do currently. Baby can't come soon enough!!!

Keha · 24/10/2022 11:00

@SUSB2016 someone told me it was easier once the baby was born, I don't if they are just trying to be nice or not... we'll find out soon!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/10/2022 14:26

@Keha I had a rough first pregnant and I couldn't believe how easy newborn life was by comparison. After my c-section, I felt absolutely amazing compared to being pregnant, felt like I could do an ironman or run a marathon...although that might have been the opioids talking. I also had insomnia when pregnant, so actually got much, much more sleep and rest with a newborn.

DS is 3.5 now, and NOTHING has ever been as difficult, exhausting or miserable as being pregnant.

I am 12 days out from my ELCs and I can confirm that newborn+toddler is so far easier than pregnant+toddler! Especially now I'm starting to recover fully from the section 👍

greenerfingers · 24/10/2022 22:38

@Keha I'm really struggling now too and only 35 weeks. I can't sit on the floor which means most of his games are out the window and I can't walk much so going outdoors for walks and to the park is limited. I feel so guilty but it's either screen time or just reading book after book 😬

This gives me hope @Weathergirl1. My friend just had her second and said it's much harder but she doesn't have pregnancies like mine so I think I'd probably prefer newborn and toddler (and I absolutely hated the newborn phase with my first, hopefully this one will be easier and I'm more prepared of what's to come).

Totally. Toddler was pretty much ignored for two months at the start before I got effective anti-sickness meds. Then I was immobile with sciatica and SI joint pain from about 30 weeks...

I can actually get on the floor to sit with him now! It's a massive difference.

greenerfingers · 24/10/2022 22:48

That's true! Before I had nothing to compare life to other than being single and free to having a newborn and responsibility. This time I can't wait to be sat on the floor with my toddler again building Lego and just messing about. I can't even lift him.

Keha · 24/10/2022 23:29

Thank you for the reassurance. I must admit I've had quite a straightforward pregnancy so cant complain to much about sickness and immobility, and slightly wondering if I'll still find a newborn harder! I'll let yet you know. Getting quite a lot of aches and pains in pelvis/abdomen today. Last time went from nothing into labour quite quickly, any else have experiences of long latent labours? I'm not convinced it is that, will probably still be here in 2 weeks but it's got me wondering whether it might be soon!

SUSB2016 · 25/10/2022 00:53

@Weathergirl1 Ahhh music to my ears!!! Trying anything and everything to just speed up the baby coming now😅I'm excited to have some energy back!

greenerfingers · 17/11/2022 08:30

How is everyone getting on? 38+3 and sooo fed up. Feeling quite trapped Sad

MooseBreath · 17/11/2022 08:56

BabyMoose was born October 30th after 3 days of labour, an episiotomy, and a ventouse. All home, happy, and healthy!

Hope everyone else is either happily home with their babies or having a good pregnancy.

@greenerfingers Nearly there now. The last few weeks feels so long. Watch as much crap tv as you can, though I know it doesn't make you feel any better!

I’m 38+6 today and wishing time would hurry along. I’ve got a 3 year old (that pregnancy was straightforward and enjoyable) and this time I have felt so unwell throughout it’s just been really slow. I’m under consultant led care due to cholestasis of pregnancy so either being induced on due date or before. Really want baby here already but don’t like the idea of induction either…

Zaalfruit · 19/11/2022 06:52

Omg I’m so happy I found this group ! I’m still in my first trimester ( however second baby ) this time I’m really struggling- the vomiting, the headaches have been hard, body feels more freaky and older ( 33 now!) . Doesn’t help that my 2 year old doesn’t understand and has a million demands . Literally last night I was vomiting my guts out - but she had to be in the bathroom with me . I am really happy to be having baby number 2 but being pregnant is so hard - food taste gross but I am so hungry I want a meal to taste amazing - however once food is in my mouth it tastes so off .

greenerfingers · 19/11/2022 07:09

Congratulations @MooseBreath ! Hope you're both recovering well. I can't wait to be able to say baby green is out lol. Doesn't help everyone who was due with me have had theirs early.

Aww I remember that feeling @Zaalfruit. As soon as my sickness subsided even a little bit I went and booked myself a holiday, lots of weekend activities and busied myself like crazy at work just to keep myself sane through second trimester. It really helped... till the last few weeks of third. Back to being torture again, even worse than first trimester as end is so close yet so far 😅

PinkFizz1 · 20/11/2022 15:58

37+5 today and feel like she’s never going to come. Want to try everything myself before induction possibly next week. Been bouncing on the ball, raspberry leaf tea, dates, pineapple, kerb walking, sex, harvesting colostrum… nothing. Might try nipple stimulation next but tbh they’re so tender I don’t know how much I’ll be able to do!

Not even had a whiff of any plug or anything 😩

KSAM · 20/11/2022 18:40

40+4 here, so fed up now, pregnancy is so hard. No sign of baby coming, induction has been booked for 40+12 😮‍💨

Bertbear · 30/11/2022 19:26

40+5 here. Induction was booked for due date because of a liver issue I have, however my hospital couldn’t fit me in so told me it would be today. This afternoon I got another call to say they still can’t have me so it might be tomorrow but no guarantee. I’ve been unwell through most of the months so keen to have my baby in my arms rather than in my tummy now!!
