I am 31 weeks pregnant with DS2, due end of October. While the pregnancy has no complications (I'm lucky, I know), I had a rough first trimester and now the third trimester has gifted me with sciatica.

All I want to do is lay on the sofa and sleep. I can't though, because DS1 is 27 months and really pushing boundaries. I've got him watching way too much TV, but it's the only way to get through the past couple of weeks.

I hate being pregnant. I want to skip ahead to when DS2 is finally here, when I won't be quite so enormous, when hopefully the sciatica will subside, and when I will be able to properly parent DS1 again (and have cuddles with DS2).

Anyone with me?

I'm 36 weeks by the end of this week. My mil pointed out that means technically at term in just over a week but realistically looking at 4-5 weeks before baby is here. Starting to feel it more and more. I thought I was big and felt like a was lugging a huge baby around a month or so ago, how on earth will I be by 40 weeks! Noticeably for me is just feeling quite immobile, and my toddler wants me to sit on the floor and play games with her all the time. Also getting some Braxton Hicks which are a bit uncomfortable and pain/pressure in my pelvis. How is everyone else doing?

MooseBreath · 26/09/2022 10:04

I keep getting Braxton Hicks in the middle of the night, which is lovely... toddler also is asking a lot of me lately and has definitely become a bit of a cling. He has probably clocked on that things are going to change very soon - I'm 35.3 weeks, so same as you, @Keha!

I think the baby has dropped now, as I'm looking ready to pop and feeling a lot more pelvic pressure. Really hoping to deliver at 38 weeks because I have no idea how I'll keep up with DS (2yo) much longer!

@MooseBreath when did you go into labour last time? I was 40+2 so expecting that I'll have to wait till around then.

Loulou1712 · 26/09/2022 10:12

Argh can I join the moan?
38 weeks tomorrow, and I'm so uncomfortable! Babies so low, and moving/sitting/laying down is just awful. I've been awake since 4am with cramps and achy pelvis but it hasn't developed into anything :( DD1 and DD2 were late, but they're threatening an induction/c-section with this one as apparently I'm carrying a baby elephant! Growth scan and consultant appointment this Friday, I'm hoping for a plan to be made, but to be honest as much as I'm over being pregnant I'm not looking forward to the sleepless nights either 😂😂😂

MooseBreath · 26/09/2022 14:57

Last time was bang on my due date. So I'm hoping maybe a bit earlier!

I need to moan - 9 weeks with #2 and feel like I'm dying. Nausea all day long, exhaustion, dizziness, food aversions and that's with the meds. With DS I was sick as a dog for my entire pregnancy and I'm worried this one's going the same way. DH and I are also both in busy season at work so the whole household are just existing in survival mode.

I feel like I'm having the life sucked out of me and I am MISERABLE. I don't know how anyone can enjoy this, it's horrible.

Brandybucks · 26/09/2022 17:45

I’m with you ladies - 36 weeks with number 4 and I think baby is pressing on a nerve in my hip and walking anywhere is agonising! Very very ready to not be pregnant anymore. Pregnancy 1 in my 20s was a breeze compared to pregnancy 4 in my 30s! Nice to know we aren’t alone in this and soon it will hopefully all be forgotten 😅

doingitalllagain · 27/09/2022 12:10

Definitely relate to this feel. I'm 20 weeks pregnant, I had a miscarriage at 17+5 earlier in the year and then a 2 month gap before falling pregnant again so I've now been pregnant for nearly 9 months out of the last 12 and feel like I should be done but I'm only half way - it's slightly soul destroying

Peasplease12 · 27/09/2022 12:41

I’m 39+5 and it just doesn’t feel like I’m anywhere close to having this baby. I have some very sporadic braxton hicks in the morning but then….. nothing.

Pinktruffle · 27/09/2022 13:12

I had my last midwife appointment yesterday, the head is 4/5 engaged so starting to get there. I need the baby to hang on till at least Saturday though as my mum is coming to stay for a few weeks to look after my toddler, otherwise I will be going in to hospital alone as we have no one else to watch him and DH will to stay home.

Lots of pains now, my hips are awful at night and just need a break from being slept on, even my shoulders are getting sore. PGP is a bitch. I possibly have a urine infection, midwife is waiting for cultures to come back and my back hurts. Having constant period type pains which is either the UTI, baby engaging or Braxton Hicks, I'm not sure! Last time my labour started very suddenly and I went from nothing to regular 5 minute contractions with nothing in between - I don't want that to happen again this time as I'll panic due to the childcare situation.

I'm scheduled for a ELC on 10th so I'm hoping baby stays put till then even though I've had enough now. Also, it's got bloody cold!!

greenerfingers · 29/09/2022 03:10

Gah I'm so jealous of you ladies further ahead! I'm 31 weeks and the PGP plus restless insomnia is driving me mad. Not sure how I'll last another 10 weeks like this. Also getting reflux this time, never happened before and breathlessness. Baby is breech so hoping it turns soon so I can breathe better. For all of those at term, hope you have your babies soon!

Pinktruffle · 29/09/2022 11:27

So my bump has very visibly dropped today and I have been having a lot of increased mucusy discharge, I'm not sure if its bits of mucus plug but it's very similar to how it was with my first - it's not bloody or pink, more a snotty colour (sorry I know that's a bit gross but welcome to pregnancy). My husband has called my mum to see if there is any way she can come to stay with us from today as things are obviously starting but it could be another week or so yet (mumnwill be watching my toddler whilst I'm giving birth)..... by the same measure if it's similar to my first labour, everything could start tonight!

Peasplease12 · 29/09/2022 13:40

At my due date today. No real sign of anything changing (although I’ve not done this before so who knows).

Managed to misjudge the size of my bump and knock over my cup of tea.

Pinktruffle · 29/09/2022 15:23

Oh dear @Peasplease12
If it's any comfort, I didn't have any obvious signs that labour was starting with my first pregnancy.

I went from nothing to 5 minute apart contractions in the blink of an eye quite literally so hold on to hope, it could start whenever

I sympathise. It's also my due date today and zero signs of anything happening anytime soon!! Most friends / family babies I know have been late, some even up to 11 days, so I'm trying to be patient and enjoy this time of being "alone" and free for the last time for a long time!!!

Peasplease12 · 29/09/2022 18:59

I’ve definitely tried to think in terms of going to 42 weeks, but that hasn’t stopped me getting impatient

MooseBreath · 29/09/2022 19:07

I hope you both have your babies really soon!

Mine is still holding on, which I know is a good thing but I am surprised! I'm booked in for a section next Monday so we'll see if I make it that far.

How is everyone coping?

SUSB2016 · 03/10/2022 01:00

35 weeks now but I'm ready to pop, I'm so exhausted!!! At the same time though, my 2 year old has gone off the rails with tantrums and general behaviour...I honestly don't know how I'll cope! Family keep telling me she's acting this way because she senses change it coming. I'm so tired

i123i · 03/10/2022 07:25

I'm also still here at 41 weeks + 4! No sign of anything happening any time soon. No mucus plug, nothing...!

Sorry, that should say 40 weeks + 4!!
Not that far along, yet!!

Peasplease12 · 03/10/2022 16:52

I have an induction booked for next Monday (41+4) if baby hasn’t arrived by then. Had an attempted sweep today but my cervix is still firmly closed. Will have another one on Thursday (41 weeks) just in case.

Contractions are non existent so I am resigning myself to waiting until Monday. Anything earlier will be a nice surprise

Keha · 03/10/2022 19:55

Good luck to those of you who are almost there. I'm 36+3 and full term seems tantalising close but I know realistically I have a month + to go!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 04/10/2022 10:18

37+5 and (not) waiting patiently. Lots of symptoms of labour about to start.... and then nothing!!! MW check today.
