@Singingloudforalltohear I’m 7+4 and I’ve not felt as many symptoms in the last 2-3 days, apart from being super hungry. I’ve got a scan tomorrow. I’m guessing these things come and go, and hopefully all will be well for you.

Becca071996 · 27/09/2022 13:18

@Singingloudforalltohear I had a panic about this also today, yesterday I could barely keep water down I was so sick, and today I woke up feeling fresh as anything! Wondered if it was normal but didn't want to scare myself by googling

I think it's normal to come and go and some days worse than others, my mums reassured me it happened with her too

I've been feeling a bit anxious the past couple of days. Pregnancy symptoms don't seem as full on. Still have a bit of nausea and sore boobs but not as bad as it was. I'm 7+3. Had a scan at 6 weeks exactly and there was a tiny heartbeat but I'm now so worried. Have booked another scan for Thursday evening. Something just doesn't feel right but can't put my finger on it. Haven't had pain or bleeding but had a MMC so possibly just anxiety driven.

I feel exactly the same. Over the weekend my nausea was so bad but from yesterday it was almost gone I have been panicking nonstop for last 2 days. My next scan is on Saturday this week just want to know ASAP if sth bad has happened so I can do the next steps...

Essexgalhere · 27/09/2022 13:46

My nausea went for a couple of days and I wondered if something was wrong but it came back - not sure if that helps with any reassurance

Thanks all. In my rational mind I know it's normal for symptoms to come and go. There's just something that doesn't feel right.

I've had a bit of a rubbish time at work so think that might be making me feel a bit unsettled.

I just hate the uncertainty.

AstroAl · 27/09/2022 19:37

I'm freaking out a bit because I have what looks like brown spotting/discharge.
I'm 6 weeks.

Anyone had this and gone on to have everything work out ok?

Would you contact the EPU over this? I'm due to have my third scan a week today.

i83 · 27/09/2022 22:23

@AstroAl I would contact them but try not to worry, as I was told the brown colour indicates old blood that’s just working it’s way out. It’s bright red and heavy blood to be worried about.
Do contact them though, don’t take my word for it, just in case.
Hopefully that will help to put your mind at ease in the meantime though.

Melusina123 · 28/09/2022 08:35

@BabyGally22 Sorry to hear about your MC. I had one in May so I understand the anxiety. My NVP started as just a slightly rumbly stomach, and still basically just feels like motion sickness or dyspepsia. The only thing that sets it apart is that it's been basically constant for a month. 😩I have a prescription for cyclizine from last pregnancy, but I haven't taken any yet. Trying to avoid it unless I actually start throwing up. But feeling permanently queasy is so wearying.

Basically my pregnancy symptoms are that I feel like I'm at the very end of a long flight, so jetlagged and travel-sick. Not fun, but not as bad as it could be, by and means.

An interesting article I found the other day - NVP is highly heritable - ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5837614/#:~:text=The%20NVP%20Genetics%20Consortium%20has,%25)%20for%20severity%20of%20NVP. My mum threw up once across both her pregnancies, which might explain why I've been much more in the 'constant motion sickness' camp than the full on vomiting camp...

girlboss94 · 28/09/2022 09:32

@Melusina123 my pregnancy app says that 1 in 5 experience nausea but very few actually throw up. So I think it's normal to feel queasy without actually being sick

Janch13 · 28/09/2022 10:02

I am SO sick! 48 hours ago I woke up with nausea and thought it was the “morning sickness” kicking in but after vomiting every hour for 16 hours straight a call out doctor has diagnosed gastro and prescribed meds.

I am currently abroad and feeling so sorry for myself stuck in the hotel room 😩

Melusina123 · 28/09/2022 10:10

@girlboss94 I think your app is underestimating things a bit there - I found this study: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23863575/ .

"Reported NVP rates varied from 35%-91% (median 69%); the meta-analytic average rate was 69.4% (CI95%:66.5%-72.3%). Among pregnant women, 32.7% had nausea without vomiting and 23.5% overall had NVP continuing into the third trimester. NVP was rated as mild in 40%, moderate in 46% and severe in 14% of cases. The prevalence of HG was 1.1% (CI95%:0.8%-1.3%), with a range of 0.3%-3.6%."

So about 1/3 get nausea with vomiting, 1/3 nausea without, and 1/3 neither. Roughly.

@Janch13 oh no, what bad timing!! Hope you feel better soon.

TheBeesKnee · 28/09/2022 16:33

After being told for several weeks that I'm glowing and my skin is so clear etc... Today I have awoken looking like a sleep-deprived troll!! I'm breaking out around my chin as well, think I'll do a face mask tonight.

I have been prescribed aspirin.

That said the asprin box says "from 8 weeks". I'm 6 weeks!
Tried to get through to the doctor for 2 hours to clarify and couldn't get through.
Would anyone take them?

Charl881 · 29/09/2022 13:54

@TheBeesKnee I had a dreaded chin break out this week, nightmare!

@AstroAl have they said why they’ve prescribed it? I think that would depend on whether to take them or not. I have some for from 12 weeks.

MrsU2022 · 29/09/2022 14:03

Hey all I'm 5w4d and hormonal skin has arrived. Normally I'm lucky and have good skin but the spots are real!

BabyGally22 · 29/09/2022 17:53

Thank u so much xxx just catching up now!

girlboss94 · 29/09/2022 20:34

I'm 8+1 and I thought the nausea was bad last week but my goodness today has been awful. I cried this morning for about half an hour. I hope it doesn't last too long. I'm not one to normally feel nauseous unless I'm extremely hungover so this is uncharted territory 😭

wonderfulworld33 · 30/09/2022 06:16

I am having the strangest symptoms - mostly fine all day unless I don't eat enough and then I feel sick. Waking up evey morning around 5/6am with diarrhea and feeling sick. I have a snack and then I'm mostly fine for the rest of the day but it seems very odd!

Anyone else experiencing this??

The lack of sleep is already getting to me 🙄 but I guess it's a small price to pay if I feel OK for the majority of the day...

AmericanGirl915 · 30/09/2022 06:47

@girlboss94 I feel you…I’ve been very lucky with nausea until this week (8+3). I still haven’t been sick but just the constant nausea feeling regardless of how much I eat.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 30/09/2022 07:21

Similar here @wonderfulworld33 - I think it's when my tummy is totally empty I feel v sick when I wake in middle of night

sunshine1987 · 30/09/2022 11:17

@wonderfulworld33 i am EXACTLY the same!

girlboss94 · 30/09/2022 11:38

@AmericanGirl915 it's so challenging right now. I'm eating quite a bland set of foods as well. I just want to want to eat my normal foods again 😩🥺

Does anyone have any tips? I'm going into my office next week and nausea is a massive problem. How can I disguise it from my co workers? I don't want them finding out at 9 weeks

Becca071996 · 30/09/2022 11:42

Struggling with this too! Empty tummy means I feel 10x worse, but I've totally lost my appetite and struggling to find foods I can face.

Hope it doesn't last long! While I am moaning, I'm very grateful to feel sick as it means things are moving along as they should be Grin

Melusina123 · 30/09/2022 12:00

My symptoms are that I wake up early, and feel fine for a while, then sometime between 8am and 11am the nausea and fatigue hits and I feel like crap for the rest of the day, sometimes with a remission mid-afternoon. I haven't thrown up though and I'd say I'm eating more than usual, albeit very idiosyncratically, because I'm trying to keep food in my stomach. Also I think I might have thrush. 😩
