@bossgirl94 I only did one digital at around 11 DPO which said 1-2 and haven’t repeated it since so not sure what it would say now but my line progression on FRERs and cheapies is not looking great. I took the last one yesterday at 16 dpo and it was probably the same darkness as 14 and 15, plus i had some random super faint ones when taken at certain times followed by a darker one later on (very confusing). My darkest line is probably only half as dark as the control line. In my previous pregnancy my progression was obvious and steady so I’m very concerned 😔Have you been tracking your progression with any other tests? Maybe you’re just a little early for the 2-3 digital one at the moment.

HJA87 · 10/09/2022 20:29

Sorry @bossgirl94 , just realised that yours is stuck at 2-3, not 1-2 so that sounds about right given the gestation. I bet you’ll get 3+ soon. I’m only 4 + 4 but the line progression is really not looking good for me.

So I went for my private scan this afternoon! Saw a lovely flickering heartbeat and I took a huge sign of relief! I was measuring a couple days behind what I thought I was but still around 7 weeks. So glad I went xx

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 10/09/2022 21:12

Hello, cautiously looking to join. I am around 4 weeks pregnant and therefore EDD would be around mid May 2023.

Our history is:
2.5 years TTC baby 1
female infertility - annovulation + huge long cycles
One loss at 11 weeks (looked great at 10 week scan) in late 2020.
Finally got started with NHS fertility clinic treatment, but couldn't get the doses right so it wasn't yet doing anything, then an unexpected positive test after taking norethisterone!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 10/09/2022 21:16

@bossgirl94 you can't compare tests taken at different times with different dilution! I'd be cautious about relying too much on tests - I know someone who had slow rising HCG and has a healthy baby, I had super strong HCG when I was last pregnant and it didn't work out so it's not a great predictor of success

EdinburghGirl1 · 10/09/2022 22:06

@bossgirl94 I wouldn't worry about it. I've heard lots of people don't get 3+ weeks until 6 weeks ish plus they aren't always completely accurate for dates. And as you said it was diluted so won't be as strong a reading.

@palmerita that must've been lovely to see. So exciting

@HJA87 I'd also try not to worry. It might just take time for the HCG to keep increasing. I think different people can progress at different rates

@sbear86 I also use Ovia pregnancy as was using the ttc one before my bfp.

RugbyGirl1 · 11/09/2022 19:56

Evening ladies, how is everyone doing?

Congrats @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl 😊 my DH and I had just agreed to start IVF in the New Year after a long journey of negative tests and trying everything. Got our BFP a couple of weeks ago - think I'm 5+2 going by LMP. How are you feeling?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 11/09/2022 20:00

Hello @RugbyGirl1 . I am feeling super anxious and half excited and half not wanting to get excited. I think I'm going to call the maternity booking line tomorrow

Snowflakes2 · 11/09/2022 20:04

Hi can I join please? Done a digital this morning and it said 1-2 weeks so I'm guessing I'm 3-4 weeks, due end of May ish.
I get really bad back ache and tummy ache as soon as I start tidying up, doing dishes or even walking.
Is this normal? Havnt experienced this in my previous pregnancies.

RugbyGirl1 · 11/09/2022 20:15

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl your username made me laugh btw 😂 I'm similar to you. Being cautiously optimistic. My referral process seemed to be different to everyone else's - rang my GP and they said the midwife visits on a Friday morning, so got my first appointment with them next week 🤷 think it's a two part referral process

Welcome @Snowflakes2 and congrats! I think it is normal to get cramps and stretching pains in early pregnancy but I'm not sure if its usually in direct link to movement? Can you ring EPU / GP / midwife for some reassurance maybe?

Snowflakes2 · 11/09/2022 21:31

Thank you! Baby number 3 for us! I havnt registered with anyone yet with is being so early, il try find a number tomorrow or I could even my doctors, thank you.

calipoppy · 12/09/2022 08:25

Is anyone else feeling really down? I'm 7 weeks today and just feel constantly miserable for no reason! I think it must be hormonal but can't remember having this symptom before. Hope it goes soon!

Sunshine0987 · 12/09/2022 08:40

@calipoppy I'm not feeling too down generally other than the fact I constantly feel pretty rough and demotivated. I'm fortunate that I can take it really easy and barely leave the house but I can imagine if I had to actually do stuff I'd be feeling way worse. I'm sure this is all normal first trimester stuff and hope you feel better soon!

Charl881 · 12/09/2022 08:47

@calipoppy kind of. I’m not feeling down necessarily but definitely not feeling happy! I think it’s hormones and also this time around the sickness and tiredness etc isn’t tempered by the same level of excitement as when I had my first, I know that probably sounds awful!

OrangeTable · 12/09/2022 09:12

Had bad bleeding over the weekend and cramping and brown blood today so heading to EPU. Fingers crossed for me please ladies. Xx

Sunshine0987 · 12/09/2022 09:20

@OrangeTable good luck, hope all is well.

EdinburghGirl1 · 12/09/2022 09:23

@OrangeTable oh no I hope everything is ok. Fingers crossed.

@calipoppy sorry you're feeling down and others too. Probably is just hormones and maybe some anxiety or something. Not something I've been experiencing personally.

@Snowflakes2 welcome. I think some people do experience those with everything going on inside.

@RugbyGirl1 I'm doing well. Not been feeling too bad so far which is good. Definitely tired though and don't feel like I'm sleeping well at night. It's like I can't quite get comfy and keep waking up. Anyone else have this?

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 12/09/2022 09:28

Morning- can I join?

Had a missed miscarriage in June (first time we tried). Did a PT about 9DO which was negative this month so just wrote the month off. AF was late so a couple of days late did a test fully expecting nothing and nearly fell off the loo in shock when it was BRIGHTLY positive within about 3 seconds.

By my calculations, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow due 15 May.

We are going on an all inc holiday next week which I'm suddenly nervous about! Lots of our lovely holiday plans have gone out the window unfortunately but hey ho.

Just so nervous something is going to go wrong. I'm so unsure about contacting the midwives yet just in case.

RugbyGirl1 · 12/09/2022 09:42

@OrangeTable hope everything is ok for you today.

@calipoppy sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down. I guess it's the hormones flying around. I'm not feeling anything still really, no sickness or nausea. Only 5+3 so still pretty early I guess.

@EdinburghGirl1 I've not been sleeping well for the last month or so - keep waking up at 4am every single morning 🙄

EdinburghGirl1 · 12/09/2022 09:49

@RugbyGirl1 oh no! You must definitely be tired. I'll definitely be getting a pregnancy pillow again as loved mine first time round. I need to buy everything again pretty much as didn't think I'd be having another child but here I am. It's my DP first though so it's actually quite nice that we get to buy stuff together. Although one of my best friend knows and says I can have some of her stuff as she had her second baby in March which will be handy.

HJA87 · 12/09/2022 11:25

Unfortunately my tests not progressing much did turn out to be an indication that something is wrong. Started my period today at 19 DPO. Had my blood drawn to check for HCG on Friday and it was only 30.1. Waiting for a follow up result from today but I’m 100% sure they will have gone down given the bleeding. In fact I hope they have so that I can move on and not worry about an ectopic etc. Its so strange because the tests did progress for quite a bit, it’s not like most people’s experience with chemicals where they go from positive to negative quite quickly. Oh well, fingers crossed for better luck next cycle. Good luck to you all, wishing you healthy pregnancies and happy outcomes in May 2023!

Charl881 · 12/09/2022 13:34

@HJA87 I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m glad you have answers now. Take your time to feel all the emotions, just because it’s an early loss it doesn’t necessarily make it easier. And good luck for the future

@EdinburghGirl1 I keep feeling so hot at night which is stopping me sleeping well I think. Also keep waking up feeling hungover which is annoying and ironic.

@OrangeTable keeping everything crossed for you.

@Myotherusernameisaferrari I went on holiday two weeks ago when I was five weeks and I was nervous but it turned out fine. I made sure I had lots of snacks and water all the time to ward off sickness, used a higher SPF than usual and kept a hat on as the sun definitely hit me more, and then I’d also been pessimistic and took sanitary towels and painkillers and googled the nearest health centre just in case of worst case scenario (it gave me peace of mind having a plan for if it did go wrong).

EdinburghGirl1 · 12/09/2022 13:47

@HJA87 I'm so sorry to hear this. Look after yourself.

@Charl881 yeah I'm definitely warmer in general and feeling hot at night. I'm away on holiday in Thursday so think I'll definitely feel the heat more. Higher spf and lots of water snacks definitely a good idea. I do feel a little nauseas in the morning but that's it so hopefully it stays away whilst I'm on holiday. @Myotherusernameisaferrari I was the same. BFN at 10dpo and was convinced I was out then AF never arrived so tested and it came up immediately. Looks like we will be away same time. I'm not all inclusive and holiday won't really change apart from the no drinking for me. At least we get to relax and enjoy some napping in the sun 😂

RugbyGirl1 · 12/09/2022 13:47

@Myotherusernameisaferrari another fantastic user name 😂 welcome! DH and I booked an all inclusive for November about 4 days before I got a positive test! Wondering what I'm going to eat all week now and obviously can't take advantage of the booze...... Booooo! Let me know how you find the food options. I always get funny about buffet food anyway and how long it's been there for 😕

@HJA87 so sorry to hear what you're going through. Hope you get some answers soon and look after yourself 💐

@EdinburghGirl1 a pregnancy pillow? What are they? This is my first pregnancy, feel like I've got so much to learn! I'm sure my friends will be giving hints and tips but I'm not planning on telling them for a little while yet....

CDR520 · 12/09/2022 14:11

Also leaving next Tuesday for a week vacation with my parents and extended family. We’ll be all sharing a house. Soo nervous about trying to hide this as I’m not ready to tell anyone until I’m as close to 2nd trimester as possible. I’m 5 weeks today and am having a few episodes of nausea on and off so I’m really worried I’ll be fully ill during my trip and people will start catching on. Does anyone know when most people start to really get sick or have any suggestions on how to minimize symptoms as much as possible? This is my first pregnancy and I feel like I haven’t got a clue about what to expect!
