Another wasted day of feeling rotten, today it's nausea, tiredness and heart palpitations. I feel guilty for sit around doing nothing and then just eating rubbish for tea but I can't do much else. Usually proper home cooked food every night and yet my food shopping today was a beige lovers idea of heaven 😳.
I bought some cheap pregnancy tests from eBay and thought I'd continue to do one a week until I have my 12 week scan. I did the first one last week and it was a very strong line, I did it again today around the same time of day and it isn't as strong, would you lose sleep over this or is all down to dilution of urine?

@Applecrumble13 oooo! I have a 1 year old DS too and now panicking if we're gonna cope with another 😂

TheBeesKnee · 05/09/2022 19:26

Having seen that some people are getting appointments at 9 weeks, today I filled in the self referral from at 4 weeks on the dot eeeek.

DP and I are debating when to start telling family - what is everyone doing?

mamazac · 05/09/2022 19:29

@Leanne053 I would assume it's just dilution of urine at this point, but maybe call EPU and ask them? X

Sunshine0987 · 05/09/2022 19:47

@TheBeesKnee woohoo! Yes my appointment is around 9 weeks too. We're telling family around 8 weeks - the next time we see them in person

Melusina123 · 05/09/2022 19:50

@TheBeesKnee I don't think we'll tell anyone until after the 12wk scan. I'll probably try and avoid telling colleagues etc until after 20 weeks. Just very paranoid about things going wrong.

Oh yes I will definitely avoid telling anyone at work for as long as possible. Especially as I've just started a new job 🥴 wonderful timing!

It's tricky for us as my aunt and cousin are living with us and they've already noticed that in not drinking. DP and I are pretending to be on a detox following a holiday, but I think if I start showing or being sick there will be no hiding it and I know my mum will kick off/be upset that she's "the last to know" and make a huge drama out of it 😅

At the same time I just want everyone to go away and if I had it my way I wouldn't even tell anyone I was pregnant, just invite them to meet the baby one day.

Charl881 · 05/09/2022 20:21

I’m back from my holiday and as lovely as it was I’m quite relieved nothing bad happened there now!

Less than two weeks now until our private scan so that’s the next mini milestone. After that we will tell the in laws and DP’s siblings probably.

Not heard about booking appt yet, not sure whether to chase. I had one at eight weeks with my DS and I’m seven weeks today.

Flowersflowers121 · 05/09/2022 20:53

Hiii @Charl881 :) glad your holiday went well! I've also got a private scan for next week (Weds 14th) eeek. So nervous.
My booking in appointment is on the 19th and im only 6 weeks today, so I would have thought yours would have been before mine but who knows how each place works differently. No harm in calling or emailing them to chase :)

@TheBeesKnee , I’m not long in my job either 😬. Oh well, I’m sure they will cope with it! Personally, I’m not telling anyone till after 12 weeks, I don’t want to have to answer questions and talk about the pregnancy until I’m less nervous and more sure all is okay!

@Leanne053 that looks like dilution of urine, it’s only slightly lighter and drinking an extra glass or two of urine could affect it.

Owl86 · 05/09/2022 21:36

@Applecrumble13 @EdinburghGirl1 Thanks, good to know the midwife will probably arrange it for me. I did drop my GP surgery an email earlier to check, so will see what they say.

Singingloudforalltohear · 05/09/2022 22:04

@Flowersflowers121 I’ve been POAS every 2 days too. FRER. Is now as dark as it’ll go so no way to check HCG is still on the rise, although can check it’s not dropping at least.

Any strategies for checking progress short of a blood test?

palmerita · 05/09/2022 22:06

I have a private scan booked for Saturday when I'll be 7+2 and my booking appointment next Wednesday. I feel so so nauseous all the time, with my first baby it started at 7weeks and lasted until 14 weeks it was horrendous! I completely forgot how gross it makes you feel, but increasing symptoms feels like a good sign to me xx

2bm · 05/09/2022 23:07

Does anyone else have no symptoms?
I’m 5+1 and still don’t have any real symptoms. I have slightly sore boobs sometimes if I really poke and prod them and that’s it. Thought I might have felt a bit nauseous yesterday but nothing today. I should probably see it as a good thing but I’m just constantly worrying at the moment.

ZeppyLoo · 06/09/2022 03:58

@2bm no symptoms here either really. I had zero nausea and sickness with my first baby though, so try not to worry!

anyone got an up to date Facebook group link? The one on the last page says it has expired

EdinburghGirl1 · 06/09/2022 07:09

@2bm I think for a lot of people nausea kicks in a little later around 6 weeks. But you may be lucky and not get any. I've only had a little bit bit and I'm 4+6. think it was a bit later it hit me more with my DD

My new symptom that kicked in yesterday was extreme hunger. I spend most of the day eating as I was just starving! 😆

@Charl881 glad you had a good holiday. I go on mine next Thursday. Hoping I don't feel I'll whilst away. I'd have thought you'd have a booking appointment given already. I got mine the day I called the midwife services which was day after bfp last week. I was booked in there and then for 9 weeks and given scan appointment too. I know everywhere is different though.

@TheBeesKnee I'll tell my mum soon probably when back from holiday. I'd do it sooner if we weren't away. DP wants to tell his family after 12 weeks but he's not close to his mum. I'll tell work and friends after the scan too

Orangesaretheonly · 06/09/2022 08:49

Cautiously marking my place on here. Got a positive test yesterday at 9DPO which I know is v early!
Had a chemical last month so trying to not get my hopes up too much.
As my last 'period' was a chemical is this still the date I use as first day of LMP?

EdinburghGirl1 · 06/09/2022 08:50

@Orangesaretheonly yes I'd think so

RL33 · 06/09/2022 09:00

@2bm Im 6 weeks tomorrow and I hardly have any symptoms. Have had a bit of mild cramping . Sore boobs occasionally and that’s about it . Has been worrying me too but also thankful!

Singingloudforalltohear · 06/09/2022 09:14

@palmerita how exciting that you’ve got your scan soon. Let us know how you get on.

I’m wishing away the next two or so weeks. Have booked a scan for 22 when I’ll be 6+7. DH will be away for a long weekend from the following day and didn’t want to wait any longer!

Laura993 · 06/09/2022 09:50

Aww that’s fab @EdinburghGirl1 at least we are similar in dates.

I haven’t yet contacted my GP surgery I’ll have to get the ball rolling with that and get appointments arranged etc. This is my first baby and after my chemical I’m taking each day as it comes! I did have bad nausea when I found out but it seems to have subsided a bit now. I just get odd pulling sensations in my stomach now.

Singingloudforalltohear · 06/09/2022 10:41

Been having lots of irrational worries today.

Have settled down after working through things logically. There's no reason to believe anything is wrong. I'm 4+4 today. Started bleeding at 4+2 with last CP so have passed that milestone.

No reason to believe there's anything wrong.

I'm normally such a cold fish. The waiting to be able to get a scan is hard!

mamazac · 06/09/2022 10:42

@Singingloudforalltohear I'm exactly the same, full of nerves. I'm 4+1 and have no reason to worry but can't stop myself.

Counting the days until I can go for an early scan and see something!

Charl881 · 06/09/2022 10:45

I’m trying to decide when to have my early scan…. Can do either next Wednesday when I’ll be at least seven weeks by my dates, or the following Sunday when I’ll be at least eight weeks. I feel like an 8 week + scan will be more reassuring, but it’s four days longer to wait!
