@AmericanGirl915 aw thanks. When did you get your bfp? We must have similar due date then

Sailawaygirl · 01/09/2022 12:22

Hi can I join.
Got bfp today not the darkest of line but both me and DP can see it. I could see a line yesterday but he couldnt! Think this makes me 4weeks.
Really helpful to know what others are doing in terms of gp / midwifes.

Melusina123 · 01/09/2022 12:31

@AmericanGirl915 less obviously from my username, I'm also an expat! From Australia. Never thought I'd be having a little British baby (partner is British), but life had other plans.

@bossgirl94 I really wanted to go with St Thomas's, but it's on the other side of London and I eventually had to accept that going with a hosp that would mean a 50minute taxi ride while in labour was bananas. 😩 But I do still wonder about the balance of proximity vs just being with a good provider.

bossgirl94 · 01/09/2022 12:35

@Melusina123 I have underlying conditions so I'd have to have a C-section anyway but I picked St Thomas'. It's 45 minutes on the train for me but so much better than my local

AmericanGirl915 · 01/09/2022 13:04

@EdinburghGirl1 BFP on Saturday, have tested a few times since then but think I'll stop soon and just take each week as it comes. Had no idea how anxiety-inducing the first trimester was - rookie mistake I guess! Guessing due date will be somewhere between 7-9 May?

@Melusina123 same, never would have guessed it! British hubby and now hopefully a bubba as well!

Leanne053 · 01/09/2022 13:16

@EdinburghGirl1 hungover is exactly how I've felt these past two days, not sick but nauseous, tired and hungry 🤣

EdinburghGirl1 · 01/09/2022 13:43

@AmericanGirl915 yeah my calculations give me 10th May although if anything like my DD they will be late lol

@Leanne053 yea hungover exactly. It's quite mild for me thankfully and had it with my DD as well and luckily was never actually sick

sunshine1987 · 01/09/2022 14:45

@H1994 i had my son at St Richards, can highly recommend if that’s anywhere near you

H1994 · 01/09/2022 14:48

@sunshine1987 I would absolute love to go to St Richards, but it's just too far for me... would be about an hour + 10m drive... not sure I can risk it at 40 weeks haha!

bossgirl94 · 01/09/2022 16:10

@EdinburghGirl1 I'm also May 10!!!

EdinburghGirl1 · 01/09/2022 16:11

@bossgirl94 yay 😀

Essexgalhere · 01/09/2022 16:15

I hope I’m okay asking this in this group

TW : loss

Im due in May just 4 weeks tomorrow but I’m full of anxiety since my loss in April this year
if Anyone has experienced similar can you please help me with any tips on relaxing
I keep feeling negative and sure I’ll have another loss x

Melusina123 · 01/09/2022 16:20

Hiya @Essexgalhere , welcome and congrats! No advice here except to take it day by day and try to do things that you generally find relaxing. There's really very little you can do to influence the outcome of the pregnancy, but the odds are on your side that you'll have a lovely bub in 9 months.

There's another thread for due April/May after loss - lots of support and good vibes over that way.

OrangeTable · 01/09/2022 21:38

Hi everyone! Can I join the thread? It’s my first ever post here! First time pregnant and super nervous - looks like I’m due on 8th May according to the apps. Has anyone not yet told their GP? Feeling worried I’ll jinx it! X

Essexgalhere · 01/09/2022 21:41

Just started having brown spotting 😞 trying not to panic but it’s not making my pregnancy anxiety any better

dobby13 · 01/09/2022 21:49

Feeling like I've been hit by a bus today. Really struggled to get up for work, and spent most of the day fighting nausea (with some wonderful sickness after dinner).

The wonders of the first trimester! Gum seems to be helping combat the nausea - not sure if it's due to the menthol... ?

Welcome to all newbies!!! 👋🏻👋🏻

dobby13 · 01/09/2022 21:50

@Essexgalhere - I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 no advice on combatting the anxiety, but just remember we're all here if you need to get it out/offload.

RugbyGirl1 · 01/09/2022 21:52

@OrangeTable welcome and congrats! I've not yet told my GP, kinda just want to see how it goes for a bit... I had an early loss last September and it's made me a little cautious but the situation is a lot different to that time so 🤞

@Essexgalhere I think brown spotting means old blood which can be totally normal in early pregnancy but I can totally understand why it may be making you anxious 😔 how many weeks are you?

Essexgalhere · 01/09/2022 21:54

@RugbyGirl1 4 weeks tomorrow so very early! 13dpo x

bossgirl94 · 01/09/2022 22:37

Anyone else who gets horrible morning sickness/generally feeling run down - how are you dealing with that at work?

I feel like it's too early to say anything but at times my work is impacted - don't know what to do 😩

Flowersflowers121 · 01/09/2022 22:49

@bossgirl94 awwhhh, I'm the same at the moment but thankfully I work from home so have been able to hide it well do far :( must be so tricky to hide in person. Feel for you xx

@Flowersflowers121 I work from home too but I'm in meetings most of the day and it's all fine until I have a wave of nausea and I realise if I open my mouth to speak it's not gonna be pretty 😂😂 I'd say in my working day 4 hours of it are meetings I'm having to conduct 😩

calipoppy · 02/09/2022 07:14

@bossgirl94 I haven't got sickness yet this time, but last time I used to keep sweets next to me when I wfh and just eat one if I felt sick which seemed to help me and relatively easy to disguise - even fruit tic tax's helped a bit!

Charl881 · 02/09/2022 07:31

Just checking in from my holiday… great to see more people joining the thread!

6w4d now and still no morning sickness which is worrying me! Although by my dates I’m not actually six weeks until tomorrow so there is still time I guess. The exhaustion is real though, I’m already worrying about how I’ll manage back at work next week.

isitaline97 · 02/09/2022 07:41

Morning ladies! In need of advice 😢 had some bright red blood when I wiped this morning, probably only a few drops but bright red. Having gone to the toilet and checked again it's dark brown now and scanty - not much of it, no clots. I'm 5 weeks now, I'm so worried 😭. I rang the maternity unit as I've no midwife yet and was made to feel like a total idiot by the midwife for only being five weeks, not one bit of advice or reassurance or anything 😞 I'm waiting for my GP to open at 8. I'm so devastated 😭 has anyone experienced bleeding red at 5 weeks and been okay? I don't have cramps and I've woke up starving which has been a pregnancy symptom for me so I'm hoping all will be well.
