@isitaline97 sorry no personal experience of this, every time I’ve had bleeding my tests have turned negative soon after so it’s been a chemical/ early miscarriage BUT I do know that there are loads of people out there who have had bleeding early on and everything has been absolutely fine. I think bleeding during pregnancy can be very normal. I’m not sure if anything can be done to check what’s going on until six weeks but keeping everything crossed for you.

catc7 · 02/09/2022 09:09

@isitaline97 that is awful they treated you that way! I rang the midwives at 5 weeks because I was cramping heavily and they were so kind and advised me to go to EPU where I had a scan. Can you go to EPU without an appointment? Mine is a walk in clinic.

catc7 · 02/09/2022 09:13

@bossgirl94 I’ve had to tell my boss because my sickness is bad already (not even 6 weeks) but my work has a 3 days in the office policy. I have anxiety is well which I’m sure is also contributing to the sickness! My doctor has actually given me anti sickness tablets and these do seem to have helped. Haven’t been physically sick since taking them.

isitaline97 · 02/09/2022 09:16

Thanks guys ❤️ I've been in touch with my GP who was equally horrified by it! She's given me the number of my closest EPU who have been much kinder and I have a telephone call with them this afternoon. I don't know why the original lady was so awful! She left me feeling so much worse tho, the lovely ladies at the EPU were so much kinder and reassuring, that's what you need at times like this isn't it! Keep everything crossed for me 🤞

Theowlwhowasafraid · 02/09/2022 09:34

@isitaline97 hey, yes I did! I had spotting from about 6-9 weeks (it could’ve been earlier but I can’t remember exactly!) it was a mixture of brown/pink/red and then it just went away at 9 weeks- it never came to anything and never found a reason. My daughter was super healthy and she’s 11 months now. Have you contacted Tommy’s? I rang them when it happened as I was really upset as had had a miscarriage a few months earlier and they were wonderful. They listened and didn’t make me feel stupid in any way. Please try not to worry, spotting is really common and it can literally be anything. It doesn’t always mean the worst ❤️

@Essexgalhere it’s tough, my DD was after a loss and I can’t lie, the first few weeks were awful, because I had spotting too it just made it worse. I did ALOT of reading, jigsaws, walking and watching films. An early scan at 6w helped and then another at 8w. Another at 10 and then 12w. A loss robs you of the excitement feeling of pregnancy and it’s a really tough pill to swallow, but you CAN do it- try and just take each day as it comes, I totally understand how you feel and it’s okay to just have a duvet day and take it easy. Sending love xxxx

@isitaline97 sorry to hear they were so horrible to you! It's natural to worry and want to ask questions / look for reassurance and as healthcare professionals they should realise that! Sounds like you're getting some better care now 😊 spotting can be caused by all sorts of things!

I got a 2-3 weeks on a CB digi today. By my LMP I'm 4 weeks today so still early days! No nausea yet (thank god), sore boobs occasionally if I prod then enough and cramps every now and again but apart from a positive test, I wouldn't really think I was ever pregnant at this stage! Booked an early scan at what I calculate at 6+4...

Sorry to hear some.of you are suffering with sickness already 😔 @catc7 glad the tablets are working!

C88 · 02/09/2022 11:42

Hey how is everyone doing? I'm 5+1 and currently on holiday in America I brought one digital with weeks with me to do at the end of week because I know il stop testing when I get that 3+ I caved and did it this morning thankfully I got my 3+ so that's me no more tests ... anyone else got no symptoms with my son I had every symptom going now I'm just getting bloated and I'm not sure if it's just all the junk I'm eating or baba 🥴... I've not got my 12 week scan until the 26th October which seems years away so booked a little early scan for the 13 of this month 😬... I had spotting with my son in early pregnancy a couple of times and would just go straight up to epu I'm also o- blood so needed and anti d injection they never found cause of spotting though and said it can be quite common x

Flowersflowers121 · 02/09/2022 11:50

Been sick a lot this morning and already feeling the need to throw up again :( it's horrid, but I suppose worth it hahaha do you just speak to your GP if you think you want or need anti sickness tablets??

catc7 · 02/09/2022 12:18

@Flowersflowers121 yep I went to see my GP and said I was being sick and she immediately prescribed me some and said if these don’t work there are others to try. I haven’t been sick for 3 days now. Still nauseous and gagging (now can’t go near the dishwasher) but so much better. Also they make you sleepy and I was struggling to sleep so that’s a good side effect for me!

TheBeesKnee · 02/09/2022 12:34

Helloooo could I tentatively join in please?

I think I am still in shock. I got a positive yesterday and today and the calculators put me at 3 weeks 4 days.

Due 15 May 2023 if all goes well.

It has been a long slog to get here (almost 4 years of TTC) and I am feeling incredibly anxious but trying to relax.

I'm on tea today instead of my usual coffee, so the feelings of tiredness could be the lack of caffeine rather than early pregnancy signs.

However, my first tell tale sign was 8DPO, sore boobs. I really struggled on the treadmill and spent most of my workout holding down my boobs because they hurt every time I moved.

The other was getting up at 5/6am to pee! Unheard of for me as I love to sleep in normally.

I've also had cramping here and there. No sickness yet. No spotting.

Congratulations!! I’m exactly the same and just waiting to get the 3+ so I can stop testing!

I did my self referral today and already refreshing my inbox to see if they’ve sent an appointment 😂

EdinburghGirl1 · 02/09/2022 14:16

@Essexgalhere sorry I don't have any experience of this or got much advice apart from try to do lots of relaxing things for you like walks etc and try to plan in some nice fun things to do and to look forward to.

@bossgirl94 oh no that must be tough. I know some people do get it really bad. I've just had very mild nausea and was similar with DD. Some people do end up telling work early as it can be a struggle. I'm wfh half the time so that should make it easier at least but maybe not so much for you if you have that many meetings.

@isitaline97 that's awful you were treated like that but glad GP and EPU were good

@C88 that will be so nice to get early scan. Mine feels like ages away too at 1st November but going on holiday in 2 weeks so that will keep me distracted.

@Flowersflowers121 oh no poor you.

@TheBeesKnee yeah the tiredness and not having as much caffeine is tough isn't it. I was shattered yesterday afternoon whilst trying to work

Melusina123 · 02/09/2022 14:17

Welcome and congratulations @TheBeesKnee. Sounds like it's been a long journey so far - I hope you are a bit excited around the nerves!

calipoppy · 02/09/2022 16:17

I've just had my booking appointment through and it's not until 10 weeks! I've never had it so late before, is anyone else's as late as this?

Melusina123 · 02/09/2022 16:43

@calipoppy mine was scheduled for 10+1 last time I think.

TheBeesKnee · 02/09/2022 17:15

How many weeks are you now? Did you just call your GP or the midwifery unit directly?

Sorry, as a late joiner on mobile I can't easily see your previous posts.

OrangeTable · 02/09/2022 18:25

Happy Friday ladies! Has anyone else not had any symptoms at all yet…? I’m 4+4 and had no signs apart from the positive test and a little bit of cramping so feeling scared/nervy 😥

Pinkjellies · 02/09/2022 18:59

Hi! Hope I can join, just had a positive test today so estimated due date is May 20th. We weren't exactly trying so this is a little bit of a shock, a happy shock though, and we're very excited.

calipoppy · 02/09/2022 19:10

@TheBeesKnee I'm 5+5 and where I live you call your gp and they refer you to the midwives who book your appointment. I mentioned to them it seems quite late but they said 10 weeks is normal 🤷‍♀️ I don't really mind as long as my scans aren't delayed.

EdinburghGirl1 · 02/09/2022 19:23

@calipoppy it can be between 8-10 weeks but I have heard of it being later. Mine is just before 9 weeks

@OrangeTable I'm 4+1 and only got bfp 2 days ago. Had a bit of nausea and tiredness and slightly sore boobs but that's it. Felt completely fine today though

@TheBeesKnee where I am you can self refer so I called midwife team directly (number was online) and got both my booking appointment and scan date booked in there and then

Leanne053 · 02/09/2022 20:05

6 weeks for me today and I feel ropey, tired, nauseous and my boobs bloody kill!
Congratulations to all the new positives 🥰

Meganlouise97 · 03/09/2022 09:03

Can I ask you all what prenatal vitamins you're taking? My mind is just boggled by everything I don't know what to choose for the best.

OrangeTable · 03/09/2022 09:42

@Meganlouise97 I just went for the Pregnacare Max. It’s two twice a day and then a third omega once a day. They don’t taste too nice though! X

TheBeesKnee · 03/09/2022 09:58

@Meganlouise97 I got the seven seas one. The thing you really need is folate, anything else is just a bonus :)

arapunzel · 03/09/2022 10:10

@Meganlouise97 I went for the Pregnacare liquid, as I struggled with taking tablets in my 1st pregnancy. It’s a strange taste but not horrible
