I've been craving spicy foods. Same as when I was pregnant with DS. Anyone else?

Harley8888 · 17/08/2022 14:39

Hi all

Joining the thread.. I'm currently 5+4 and starting to feel super exhausted and slightly nauseous.. feels like a really bad hangover!

Phoned in sick from work today and felt so bad about it but I really needed to rest.. been in bed most of the day.

Feels weird not having seen a doctor or midwife yet.. Still feels like it's not real!

Is anyone else from Crawley area/West Sussex?

faithtrustandpixiedust · 17/08/2022 15:34

Hi everyone just catching up with the thread! Hope you are all well! Officially 7 weeks today according to flo, started cyclizine on Monday for sickness and nausea and feel like a different person, so relieved to actually be able to function!
No cravings here yet but have gone off pretty much everything and seem to be living on toast with peanut butter and bananas just now. With DD I craved strawberries, sour sweets and prawn cocktail crisps but I don't think it was until much later so it will be interesting to see if this one is similar.
Doctor made a comment the other day that he reckons it will be a boy this time since my body's reacted totally differently to my pregnancy with DD so we'll see, I already feel like I'll be a bit disappointed if it's a boy. I've always pictured myself with two girls and I've got a younger sister who I have an amazing relationship with so would love DD to have that too but will deal with that nearer the time I suppose. We're definitely going to find out when we can, I've got a loft full of girly things that desperately needs sorted out before baby arrives 😅😂

Matildahoney · 17/08/2022 15:56

I haven't gone off anything yet, but I get really full really quickly which my OH is loving cos he normally fights me for food 🤣 and anything I drink I want to be fruity!

CinderellaFant · 17/08/2022 16:11

7 weeks today and I've just started bleeding 😭😭

MrsC2018 · 17/08/2022 16:15

I'll be finding out, I love the idea of waiting until the birth but in reality I'm just to impatient 😂 no preference, I have 1 of each just excited. The pregnancy I lost was a boy and interestingly my 2 boy pregnancies were the most and least sick and I've craved similar things with them all - pineapple and salad. Think I'm just so thirsty all I ever want is juicy things! Had salad for breakfast yesterday much to the amusement of a colleague 🙄 so think this one will be the same as the others!

Oh no! Are you going to the EPAU? They could do a reassurance scan?

Emeal123 · 17/08/2022 16:26

@CinderellaFant hopefully everything is ok, could be worth contacting the EPAU to double check? Xx

Wouldloveanother · 17/08/2022 16:26

We will find out, that way if it’s a girl we can just get DD’s babygrows down from the loft 😂 if it was a surprise I would have to buy some more unisex stuff. I know some people say you can just buy after they’re born but honestly who has the time to shop when they leave hospital?!

Emeal123 · 17/08/2022 16:28

I didn’t fine out with my son (8yo) however I don’t have that kind of patience anymore, my partner and I are desperate to find out! We are happy either way although have both raised boys so a girl would be a welcome change - and then I won’t be outnumbered anymore lol

ive not got cravings but so hungry ALL the time!!

CinderellaFant · 17/08/2022 16:28

@Wouldloveanother I've rang them and they said just to monitor for 48 hours and ring if it gets worse. I had a reassurance scan at EPU on Sunday, where I was measuring earlier than expected and they gave me an appointment for 2 weeks time. Think it's game over for me 😕

Ah, I do hope it settles soon. Is it heavy bleeding like a period or just spotting? It's such an anxious time - sending you a big virtual hug!

SavedByGraceAlone · 17/08/2022 16:36

OttilieKnackered · 17/08/2022 09:39

Thanks for your help guys.

@Skylark1990 - my boobs mainly. They were really sore and huge and now almost back to normal. I’ve had mild bits of nausea very on and off but I’ve been so anxious it’s hard to tell what is true nausea and what is anxiety.

I feel my boobs are also shrinking back from what they were a couple of days ago. Still sore but definitely not as huge! Am 5+3 today. So worried as that's how all my previous miscarriages started.
BUT seeing your lovely dye stealer reassured me that it could still be okay!
Anyone else has the 'fluctuating boobs symptom'?

Longbin · 17/08/2022 16:37

@CinderellaFant do you have bad cramps?

Wouldloveanother · 17/08/2022 16:38

My boobs were a bit tender for a few days but have gone ‘back down’ now, feel really light and painless, like just after a period! It was the same in my last pregnancy all the way through - literally no pain or swelling etc didn’t even go up a bra size. Milk engorgement is a different story 😂

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/08/2022 16:41

Hi guys, sorry I don't come on too much and can't keep up!

Quick question, anyone else get lightening crotch already? Keep getting a sharp pain up my lady bits but then also on my bum sometimes 🙈 literally lasts like not even a second

CinderellaFant · 17/08/2022 16:41

Just spotting when I wipe. Quite stringy.

Yes I've had cramps the whole way through ☹️

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/08/2022 16:44

@CinderellaFant sorry to hear about that. Will they not rescan your now for reassurance?

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/08/2022 16:44

Just read that they said no. It's so frustrating and worrying isn't it

CinderellaFant · 17/08/2022 16:45

@chasingtherainbow1 no they've said there needs to be two weeks between the scans for them to see if it's progressing

AliceinSlumberland · 17/08/2022 16:45

Just catching up so I apologise in advance for the two posts because I’ll have to do it page by page haha.

@Emeal123 I’ve had some period of being bloated, not too bad yet but I’m only 4w5d so can imagine by next week some of my clothes might feel a bit uncomfortable! I bought some pjs in the size up yesterday just to feel super comfortable at night haha.

@OttilieKnackered (great name by the way, our names are themed haha) fab dye stealer, so glad you feel reassured.

@Wouldloveanother we’ll definitely be finding out, I have no patience and will book a private scan to find out early. I think I’d prefer a girl but happy with either to be honest.

haha @Margo34 I love that the old wives tales ended up 50/50

AliceinSlumberland · 17/08/2022 16:50

Welcome to the thread @Harley8888 :) I’m much more north than that!

@faithtrustandpixiedust so glad the medication has helped and you’re feeling a lot better!

@CinderellaFant I’m so sorry that you’ve got spotting, I do think it’s really really common to get spotting but that’s not helpful when you’re understandably anxious about it. Everything crossed it stops ASAP - did they see a heartbeat at your scan? If so, and it carries on, I’d be ringing back and ask again, because they could at least check it’s still going strong.

AliceinSlumberland · 17/08/2022 16:52

I’ve had a busy day at work today, just crawled into bed, been yawning all day despite a full nine hours sleep which is unheard of for me. The tiredness as definitely hit.

I got myself into a spiral of anxiety by googling miscarriage rates and doing tests to see if the line was darker. I’ve thrown out my left over tests now and I won’t be searching anything to do with miscarriage anymore, it wasn’t doing me any good. Of course it might happen but working myself up into a state won’t help. It’s just hard having to wait and see for so long - I feel like the 2WW was a doddle in comparison.

CinderellaFant · 17/08/2022 16:53

@AliceinSlumberland no heartbeat at the scan, they said it didn't look like I was far enough on. They could see a sac and something growing in it but weren't able to make anything out yet

Margo34 · 17/08/2022 16:53

@AliceinSlumberland have you MC before? If not then rates are in your favour
