Hi everyone. Tentatively joining this thread after getting a BFP yesterday. Had cramping yesterday with sore boobs but otherwise feeling ok! Hopefully it's a sticky! 😊

Skylark1990 · 17/08/2022 08:09

Hello and welcome to newbies!

I am 6 weeks today. 🙏 Ear still sore so trying to get a doctor appointment. The nausea is very faint / coming and going still so hope it's going to be ok! Have to remember I didn't get full on strong symptoms till around 7 weeks with DD.

@Margo34 I'm glad the spotting has stopped, have they prescribed you the progesterone till 16 weeks? That's really good. Yes it's really hard to know whether bf will affect a pregnancy negatively as everyone is different and there isn't much research on it. I have friends who breastfed through all or part of their pregnancies too. One has given birth recently and she even continued to do night feeds for a good while through the pregnancy and she's tandem feeding now! I just think personally my body was like no. Too much. So hoping the one feed is ok! My milk as dropped a lot already so it's more for comfort than anything and hoping the progesterone helps any potential negative affect 🤞 got to think positive.

Skylark1990 · 17/08/2022 08:17

@MediaMinion I don't want to scare you as it's most likely fine as both spotting and cramps are be very normal in early pregnancy, but spotting plus pain and also be a sign of ectopic so maybe check in with the epau just to be on safe side? You are 5 weeks now so they should be able to see on a scan that baby in right place even if no hb yet. Ofc if you feel it's just mild and the spotting has eased off then you're probably totally fine but may be good to just speak to someone for peace of mind! X

Skylark1990 · 17/08/2022 08:18

I did my last test today and got the 3+ so that's good 🙂

I MC at 6+3 last time so this week will be a hard one I think...

Hope everyone has lovely days x

Wouldloveanother · 17/08/2022 08:24

6 weeks today 🥳

Still not sleeping well and the nausea is coming in stronger waves.

Working from home today so going to try to take it easy and maybe even have a lunchtime nap.

Wouldloveanother · 17/08/2022 08:25

That’s fab @Skylark1990 !

Yay for the 3+
I'm the same I just want to get through this 6th week and to my scan next week when I'll be 7 weeks.
I'm starting to feel a bit queasy but I'm expecting it to get a lot worse. With my DD I didn't have HG but I lost a lot of weight because I couldn't eat much and I couldn't even walk anywhere without retching!

jollydollyirl · 17/08/2022 08:43

Quick question- how are you all measuring date. I haven't been to GP yet but Flo app is giving me 4+3 based on first date of last AF. Would this be somewhat accurate?

jollydollyirl · 17/08/2022 08:44

Just to add, Clearblue digital giving 1-2 so should I go by this?

ancienthouse · 17/08/2022 09:05

@jollydollyirl it usually goes by first day of lmp unless you know when you ovulated. I track ovulation because my cycles are irregular, for instance with my DD I ovulated at 4 weeks not 2 weeks, so by lmp I was 2 weeks ahead of where I knew I actually was. But this time there is only a difference of 3 days because I had a shorter cycle so lmp is about right.

you have to add 2 weeks to clearblue digital as that gives weeks since ovulation/conception and that's not how pregnancies are usually dated.

If your lmp date is giving you 4+3 then it's probably about right give or take a few days, your cycle can't have been too far off 28 days.

I hope that makes sense!

Hello all.

My pregnancy symptoms really seem to be waning now and I’m really worried.

I’m only 5.5 and although I’ve filled in the self referral form for the midwife I’m yet to have anything booked in.

Is there anything I can do? Would it be worth doing another pregnancy test? I feel like epau wouldn’t see me unless there was some bleeding or something.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 17/08/2022 09:18

@OttilieKnackered it's usually perfectly normal for pg symptoms to come and go. If you're concerned you could do another FRER and compare to your first test. I'm still testing almost daily after over a week of positives now. Just keeping a check on line progression etc.

If you're concerned give the gp a call. You could also book an early scan for beginning of 6weeks. You may not hear a heartbeat at the time but they would be able to see if everything looks alright and maybe put your mind at ease? Xxx

So if Flo is saying I’m 4+3 (from the start of last cycle) then I’m probably only 2 weeks roughly if implantation happened give or take 2 weeks after beginning of cycle?

TheCakeIsALie18 · 17/08/2022 09:32

@jollydollyirl the NHS will initially date your pregnancy from the date of your last AF. So 4+3 sounds right. You will get a more accurate date at your 12 week scan xxx

Skylark1990 · 17/08/2022 09:33

@ancienthouse good luck for this week! Hopefully we both make it through all good 🙂 positive vibes! 🙏🌈💞 How many weeks are you? When's your scan? I have one booked for 7+1 but considering pushing it back a week so I'll be 8 week, feel this may give me more reassurance...

@OttilieKnackered my symptoms are coming and going too and 5+5 is still suuuuper early for strong symptoms, most people don't get consistent sickness till 6/7 weeks. I know it's hard but try not to worry I'm sure it's ok 💞 I'm 6 weeks now and feel the same with them coming and going. What symptoms do you have / not have that you're worried about? Yes you could do another pregnancy test, maybe a clear blue with weeks or you could do a FRER and compare if you did one earlier. But ultimately tests aren't crystal balls anyway, just a snapshot. Or yes book an early scan for a week's time x

@jollydollyirl I think this all sounds about right, do you normally have a 28 day cycle? Any idea which day you ovulated? If you're 4+4 from last menstrual period and clearblue saying 1-2 then this should be about right, you probably ovulated around cd 16/17 in this situation. But it's not an exact science!

ancienthouse · 17/08/2022 09:33

You'll have been actually pregnant for around 2 weeks, but your official date will be 4 weeks pregnant as you have to add 2 weeks. Pregnancy is dated from the start of the menstrual cycle, so you're already 2 weeks pregnant at ovulation/conception. It's a bit baffling really but that's how they do it. I'd go with you being 4+3 unless you know your cycles are longer/shorter than 28 days.

Skylark1990 · 17/08/2022 09:33

@Wouldloveanother sorry to hear you're not feeling well, good that you're working from home and hopefully can have a nap! X

OttilieKnackered · 17/08/2022 09:39

Thanks for your help guys.

@Skylark1990 - my boobs mainly. They were really sore and huge and now almost back to normal. I’ve had mild bits of nausea very on and off but I’ve been so anxious it’s hard to tell what is true nausea and what is anxiety.

Skylark1990 · 17/08/2022 10:07

Got an infection so have to take amoxicillin for 5/7 days. Hope it's going to be ok! He did say I could wait and see as often ear infections resolve themselves but said it's very inflamed and looks like I had a bleed so if it was him he would take. It's bad timing as exactly at this time last pregnancy I had covid and then lost it a few days later. I know it's different but worried if my body under strain it's going to be bad 😥

Longbin · 17/08/2022 10:13

@Skylark1990 I took amoxicillin right at the start of pregnancy as I was wiped out with a chest infection, all has been fine so far!

I think it will be fine! The only thing I've heard about antibiotics in pregnancy is that they can cause the first baby teeth to have some white spots on, but it doesn't affect their big teeth.

Better to have antibiotics than an infection. Just make sure you take some probiotics to help your gut out too 😊

mummatara · 17/08/2022 11:12

@Skylark1990 congrats on 3+ 🥳 I'm saving my last digi for next week 🤞🏼 sorry to hear your poorly though 😢

Emeal123 · 17/08/2022 11:59

I’m so bloated I feel like people will notice I’m pregnant! I can’t wear any of my jeans and am living in leggings with baggy tops or loose dresses! I’m assuming the bloat will go down at some point? Anyone else in this boat? I’m 5+4 xx

mummatara · 17/08/2022 12:04

@Emeal123 I was very very bloated in my last pregnancy but not so much yet in this one. That being said I have hardly worn anything tight because it's been so hot out so maybe I just haven't noticed the bloating 😂

OttilieKnackered · 17/08/2022 12:09

Hello again guys.

I decided to do another test. Is this what they call a dye stealer?

I think I’m reassured!
