Congratulations everyone on your positives ❤️

This pregnancy is feeling very different to the early MC. Only had very short moments of mild cramping, and it goes so quickly. No brown discharge and my breasts are v sore. I think that's all the reassurance I need for now.
I don't think I'll let myself get excited until like 20 week scan, so going to just take each day.

I've self referred to midwifery team so fingers crossed hear from them soon. I've looked up what my expected due date - 27th April. It doesn't feel real!
I'm glad I'll mostly be pregnant in the winter because I'll be able to cover up 😂 and it'll be easy to keep it hush hush.

What's everyone doing exercise-wise? I'm going to try to keep active with light exercise like walking and Pilates. I know technically can keep doing things more physical but I feel like I'll shake out the embryo 🤣

Wisher88 · 21/08/2022 22:08

@MamaOh oooh how do you know it's doubling?

@MamaOh yeah that's fair enough!

KilledAnotherPlant · 22/08/2022 05:50

I had lunch with friends yesterday and was really worried about the no drinking thing. Turns out it wasn’t even an issue. They ordered cocktails and I had a mocktail and it wasn’t even mentioned. I suspect they know since they know I was trying but didn’t ask. That was a relief. Now I’ve got family arriving from Australia in about an hour and we’re spending three days with them and I think they’ll clock it. Over the years I’ve been making my boozy bed and now I’ve got to lie in it 😂
Im not too worried about them knowing apart from the fact I’m not convinced this one’s sticking again…. light tests, no symptoms. Anyway not to worry immediately I’m sure I can start them off with a cup of tea 😉

Chocolat · 22/08/2022 07:05

Morning all, need some help please I’m 7+6 today and woke up with some pink blood on wiping 😢 wasn’t a lot it went away after 2 wipes. Not had any significant cramps either. In terms of pregnancy symptoms I feel nauseous and tired but not been sick yet.
Do you think EPAU would scan? 😢

Wisher88 · 22/08/2022 07:24

@Chocolat good morning ☺️ it's my understanding a bit of pink blood on wiping isn't usually a bad sign. A worry would be bright red with cramping and more than just wiping! I think if you're really worried you can ask for an early scan, not sure if they'll give it to you though and you might be expected to pay for private if they aren't concerned by the description! No harm in asking ❤️ let us know how you get on.

Chocolat · 22/08/2022 07:31

@Wisher88 thank you :) yeah I don’t think they would be too interested without any heavier bleeding or cramps you’re right, I may book a private scan x

AliceinSlumberland · 22/08/2022 07:37

Agreed I think a bit of pink blood is fine, could be anything, have you DTD recently, could even be that? Fingers crossed that’s it and you don’t see anymore!

I swear my boobs have doubled in size overnight…

AliceinSlumberland · 22/08/2022 07:38

Exercise wise, I do a lot of walking and swim three times a week, I also have a hobby which means my weekends are very high step count and some running but I have to say all of those has taken a bit of a hit the past couple of weeks, partly because I’m tired and partly because I’m naturally lazy in nature 😂 need to get back to it this week!

B1993 · 22/08/2022 07:48

Welcome to the new joiners. Sorry to hear that some of you haven't had an easy road to get here! Wishing that you a happy and healthy 9 months!!

@Wisher88 Sorry to be intrusive but you mentioned that with your MC you had some brown discharge. I've had some occasionally - I called my GP when it first happened but because I wasn't even 4 weeks she really said there's nothing she can say do. I'm sorry for the TMI here but I had the tiniest steak of brown when wiping again. What I'm wondering if your spotting was consistent or on/off and if there was a lot?

@Chocolat I had some light pink spotting at different points throughout my first pregnancy. Apparently it can be caused by the hormonal changes?! Anyway, DS is now 3 so wasn't anything to worry about for us.

Like you said, you could book a private reassurance scan if you're worried.

B1993 · 22/08/2022 07:53

Sorry, lots of mistakes in the last post... very little sleep again for me last night and I was typing in a hurry. 🥱I hope it still makes enough sense.

@B1993 Hiya, so it was a lot, progressively getting worse over like 2 days until lots of bright red blood. I had constant cramping for the few days I was pregnant. I'd never been pregnant so assumed it was normal! It was watery brown but very quickly, like within a day became a lot more.

Skylark1990 · 22/08/2022 08:41

Hello @MamaOh and welcome, glad you plucked up the courage to join! Your story sounds so hard, you must be incredibly strong. Sending you so much luck for this pregnancy. How many weeks are you now?

Good point about exercise and blood flow to uterus. I've not been able to do much as felt too nauseous and tired the last week. And I went swimming last Mon which was great but promptly got an ear infection 🤦‍♀️ been on the antibiotics and it's cleared up but will finish the course, got two more days. I've been nervous to do yoga but I might give it a go and try to go walking today too.

Chocolat · 22/08/2022 08:42

@AliceinSlumberland @B1993 thanks both. Think I have just panicked a bit to be honest I’ve not had any spotting since. We dtd last on Thursday and had some spotting after but know I’ve got an ectropion so wasn’t concerned by that. Hopefully it is just hormonal changes again.

@MamaOh thanks, if I get anymore I think I’ll call and will probably mention pain too like you said. Just wanted dh to be there for the first scan as he can’t really spend hours off work waiting in EPAU as he’s self employed.

Anyway I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow I will mention it to her :)

B1993 · 22/08/2022 08:48

@Wisher88 Thank you for sharing your experience! I did have some pale pink spotting with my first and I know spotting is common in healthy pregnancies too but I can't help but worry! I'm a worrywart anyway and I think pregancy ramps that up!!

I did have lots of cramping before and just after testing positive but, again, I did with my first. That seems to have subsided now but I still get the occasional twinge.

I contemplated calling EPAU yesterday but I know it's too early and they wouldn't be able to do anything at just over 4 weeks. Then I looked into private scans for when I'd be six weeks - £85 for a 5 min scan! I had private scans with my first but I can't remember paying that?! As some others have said, I can't seem to justify the cost to myself.

Hopefully I'll have smooth sailing for the next 8 or so months now! 🤞🏻

Re exercise - before getting pregnant I got out of any routine I had going. I was going to try doing something from home - a friend recommended doing YouTube videos - I may give that a go.

DBS94 · 22/08/2022 08:59

The nausea has seriously hit this morning currently lying flat trying to get my work done. Does anyone have any tips or trips to try and tackle this??

Wouldloveanother · 22/08/2022 09:02

@DBS94 my only ‘tip’ is to eat before standing up in the morning, getting up on an empty stomach seems to make mine so much worse. I’m currently lying flat at well trying to face my laptop!

chillichillioil · 22/08/2022 09:18

Feeling a bit rubbish today. Went for scan yesterday & they measured me 10 days behind. She said I ovulated late, but I know I didn't as that would mean I ovulated a day before my positive test. Got to go back in ten days to see if it's progressing. They saw a heartbeat, but didn't say if it was strong etc. hate this wait! Hope you're all doing ok xxx

I’m planning to start pregnancy yoga at 12 weeks on the dot - I’ve been doing yoga for years on and off, but stopped when I found out I was pregnant and can’t wait to start again. I’m also trying to walk to the beach each lunchtime, the fresh air really helps with the nausea but it’s just getting up/showered/dressed that’s my issue. It’s all such an effort. There’s been a few tears this morning, I’ve been feeling so rough for a few weeks now and feeling a bit fed up. Also still waking up every couple of hours.
