So today my boobs have realised they are pregnant are ridiculously vascular and veiny Grin

One of mine has realised 😂 Feels sore like engorgement-sore only without actually being engorged. Wonder if the other side will get the memo to catch up?! 🙈

B1993 · 19/08/2022 11:48

@Margo34 I think I'm more concerned about nausea. I didn't have any (well, barely) with my first but already feeling like this pregancy is so different so who knows this time! I'm not quite sure how you can be discreet with sickness?! 🤔

Plus, our head didn't renew contracts for TAs in KS2 (where I am) so there won't really be anyone to cover if I do need to pop out.

I'm moving teams too and 2 members of the staff are new/fairly new so don't feel comfortable telling them before some of my family and friends! We're a small school so it's possible someone will notice!

My 12th week is right at the start of October half term, so hopefully the sickness won't be an issue and I can break my good news after half-term.

RE bloat, my excuse will also be too much indulgence! I'll blame it on the hot weather and too many ice creams haha!

B1993 · 19/08/2022 11:51

@Margo34 Sorry for your past losses! It's completely understandable that you want to wait a bit longer. I'm hoping your rainbow sticks! 🌈

hotelp · 19/08/2022 12:26

@Margo34 that cracked me up, hope the other one catches up soon 😂

alwaysseeingstars · 19/08/2022 12:51

@ANiceBigCupOfTea I'm so sorry to hear this, sending hugs x

xttcbabyno1x · 19/08/2022 13:12

@ANiceBigCupOfTea I am so sorry hun 😭❤️

Wouldloveanother · 19/08/2022 13:13

Really sorry to hear that @ANiceBigCupOfTea that must’ve been gutting 😔 hope you are ok and get your sticky bean soon 🤞🏻

really struggling today. I just feel so tired and sick. Moving makes me feel sick, talking makes me feel sick, not eating for more than an hour or two makes me feel sick. I haven’t actually vomited but it’s there all the time. I’m also really tired but can’t sleep deeply or properly. The only time I feel okay-ish is when I’m lying on my back having just eaten. I’ve got work to do today and can’t spend the day lying down! I’ve also got Ddog to walk, DD to look after when she gets home and a house to clean etc. DH is doing it all at the moment and hasn’t complained but he works long hours and has a horrible cough at the moment so I know he’s feeling under the weather too.

just a grumble really.

Skylark1990 · 19/08/2022 13:20

@Wouldloveanother sorry you are feeling rubbish, just want to say I am feeling similar so sending solidarity... Have got literally no work done today, and had to take an early lunch break to go out and get some food and drinks that would help the nausea... I have to eat basically constantly... once I've eaten I'm ok for about 10-20 mins then need something else. And I'm having strong cravings and aversions now. I'm finding cold fizzy or fruit drinks good... just had a coke zero which I know isn't ideal but it helped, ginger cordial with sparkling water also good... Just feel very tired too and not motivated to do much! If I move lots I also feel worse. But it's a good sign for both of us 🙏so hopefully that helps us get through!

I looked back on my notes I took from DD pregnancy and the nausea did kick in around same time but slightly later with her, then the spewing every day started about 8 weeks and lasted till like 14 weeks. God that was grim. I just remember it getting so much worse when I thought it was going to start to get better!

1stimer16 · 19/08/2022 13:22

@B1993 @Margo34 thanks for reassurance ladies x

AliceinSlumberland · 19/08/2022 13:44

Hahah @Skylark1990 I’m having similar cravings but I’m drinking Fanta so you’re doing better than me 😂

Wouldloveanother · 19/08/2022 13:46

I’m on Sprite 😂 I suspect we’re all having girls.

Wouldloveanother · 19/08/2022 13:47

@Skylark1990 thanks for the suggestion, will try the ginger beer 🍻

Tropicana1 · 19/08/2022 13:53

@ANiceBigCupOfTea so sorry to see this, look after yourself x

Ginmonkey84 · 19/08/2022 13:54

@ANiceBigCupOfTea I’m so so sorry!

What a morning I had arrived at my appointment at 10:30 only to find an email from the clinic at 10am to say the sonographer had been in a car crash and they had to cancel. Tried every possible avenue and other clinics but nothing available. Maybe it’s a bad omen.

I’m of course now in a panic maybe it’s some kind of divine intervention (I’ve plans this weekend I really have to go to so keep thinking maybe I’m not meant to find out the bad news yet…crazy to even think like that 🫣) but I’m now driving nearly an hour away to get a scan at 5pm the only one available today in the whole country where I live. I won’t settle if I don’t. Nothing else’s available until next Wednesday,
Fingers crossed I make this one…….

@Ginmonkey84 I would have done the same if I had a scan booked and I'm not superstitious, I just can't wait! Hope everything goes well

AliceinSlumberland · 19/08/2022 14:16

@Ginmonkey84 omg, what a stress, totally agree I’d do exactly the same in your position, so glad you’ve got one tonight. Everything crossed for you.

B1993 · 19/08/2022 14:35

@Skylark1990 Sorry to hear that you're not feeling great today!

I'm struggling to find the motivation to do anything myself. DS has gone to the grandparents' today and, instead of using my time wisely to get some jobs around the house done, I've spent most of my day in front of the tv! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Ginmonkey84 What a nightmare!! I hope the sonographer is okay, too😬 I'm pleased you've managed to track down an appointment for today. Let us all know how it goes 😊

38startingagain · 19/08/2022 15:18

@Wouldloveanother only just catching up on thread 3 but saw your comment and this is exactly how Iam feeling it’s awful ! I’m so bloated and have constant pains that feel and sound like hunger pangs although I’m not hungry ! It keeps me awake at night and is getting worse was going to call midwives for any advise.

Skylark1990 · 19/08/2022 15:26

Thanks everyone, glad to know I'm not the only one sipping the fizzy drinks! Also snacking loads on crisps today, they're really hitting the spot but ideally it would be something sliiiightlty healthier 🤦‍♀️ oH well. Finished early today so now going to watch Netflix for an hour or so before DD comes back from nursery!

@38startingagain are you sure they aren't actual hunger pains?? I've literally had to be eating every 20 mins since earlier this week... It keeps the nausea at bay slightly and I think my body just needs the calories tbh. It's weird as feeling sick isn't the usual "I'm hungry" feeling but I think ATM it's exactly what my body is telling me. Try to snack little and often and it might help both with the pains and the sickness!

I am a firm believer we get cravings for a reason e.g. if I'm craving crisps, baby clearly wants some simple carbs, if it's strawberries then baby wants vitamin c 😂 all justified

Skylark1990 · 19/08/2022 15:28

@Ginmonkey84 sounds like a right run around! Hope the sonographer is ok 😬 and hope your scan goes well today! You may want to get Mumsnet to take down your last post as some identifying things in the pic such as name and city you live! Just thought I'd mention, but don't worry if you're not worried 😊 let us know how the scan goes xxx

Wouldloveanother · 19/08/2022 15:28

Skylark we are not only due date twins but symptom twins! I read all your posts and nod away to myself thinking that’s EXACTLY how I feel! It’s also like a heaviness in my stomach, I feel so sluggish and generally awful. And quite low in mood. Gah, only 8ish weeks before it hopefully passes…

mummatara · 19/08/2022 15:47

Ok ladies can you give me a wwyd opinion so after rattling on about it's good to wait until 8 weeks for a scan blah blah and I have a scan booked for 8+3 I have found a clinic close to me like 10 mins away that does internal viability scans from 6 weeks. I can potentially go for one at 6 or 6+1 but after this I am on holiday so would wait until the 8 week scan. Do I give in to my impatience and go at 6 weeks or just hold off for when we're back from holiday. I am so undecided I really want to see bubba after a previous MC but equally if the news isn't good do I go away in blissful ignorance and wait for the 8 week one

Wouldloveanother · 19/08/2022 15:56

I wouldn’t @mummatara

its very hit and miss whether you will see the heartbeat at that point, whereas by 7 weeks you should be able to see it. For the sake of 1 week you will save yourself a lot of worry/money!

Skylark1990 · 19/08/2022 16:10

@mummatara I would also wait if you can. As @Wouldloveanother said if you go that early there is a chance you won't see a hb and this could cause a lot of anguish for no reason and also means you'll have to go back again to check so more money etc.

I've got a similar debate doing on, currently booked for a scan 7+1 the day before I go away for the long weekend, considering pushing it to a week later so we see baby at 8+1 hopefully a bit more to see 🤞🤞 and will give more reassurance if later on too. A heartbeat at 6 weeks does not have the same risk percentages as 8 weeks as horrible as that is.... I think heartbeat at 8 weeks means only 2+3% chance of MC. It's hard to wait but I think worth it! I know how you feel, it's hard to trust when we have had a loss but hopefully soon you'll start having some horrible sickness 😂 and that will reassure you! X

Skylark1990 · 19/08/2022 16:11

@Wouldloveanother ergh it's grim isn't it ...right on cue I'm feeling sick again after a pause in eating for about 20 mins 😂😬 x
