Hello! 6+3 here...first ever pregnancy. I've only known since 5 weeks. Feeling incredibly anxious and cannot get the thought of miscarriage out of my head.

I turned 30 on Thursday and had my party yesterday. Me and my best friend did an elaborate drinks swap all night, which worked out well for her! Today I've woken up with the biggest fake hangover ever, after complaining on my birthday that I didn't have any symptoms. Feeling sick and sneezed a hundred thousand times. Dr said not to take antihistamines which I would usually take like clockwork so might just be that.

Following this thread to hopefully have a chat with some others also due April 2023. Seems so far away but I know it'll come around quickly. Saying that, these first 12 weeks are going slow!

Tropicana1 · 14/08/2022 12:54

@CinderellaFant sorry you're in limbo - keeping fingers crossed all is ok. If you don't mind me asking what was it that prompted the early scan - was it just a private one or have you had concerns? Really hope it all works out for you

CinderellaFant · 14/08/2022 12:57

Thanks everyone.

@Tropicana1 I have a history of miscarriage. I lost my last baby in January, no heartbeat at 12 weeks so my hospital told me then that if I get pregnant again to contact them when I'm 6 weeks and they would do a scan just to check things out.

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 14/08/2022 13:34

Yess good idea!

SkeletonSkins · 14/08/2022 15:08

@Catkinder Welcome and congratulations! I’m well impressed at your drink swapping plan haha, good work!

I’m 4weeks 2 days today, going by ovulation date. If I go by my last period I’m 5 weeks today but I know I have longer cycles and ovulate late so going from my ovulation day. I made my husband take a photo of me yesterday on our dog walk in the hope that I can have a photo next April in the same spot looking very pregnant, here’s hoping!!

Took a clear blue dating test for the first time and got 2-3 which I’m really happy about. Also did another cheap easy@home which seems good so I need to stop taking them, it’s going to stress me out when they inevitably stop getting darker. This is my progression, just for fun!

Sorry it wasn't as clear for you @CinderellaFant

Hope the next 2 weeks goes quickly for you, it's a horrible wait.

41andtryingforfirst · 14/08/2022 15:21

@Skylark1990 yup think I'll do that. I'm going to EPU first for the scan and if all is well then I'll go to Ante-Natal and see the consultant to query the dosage and make a plan moving forward. X

@SkeletonSkins thank you!

I have 0 experience in this, but I tested again at 6 weeks and had a really faint line on a cheapo test. Then rushed out to get a clear blue how many weeks one - came up as 3+ straight away

MrsLBear · 14/08/2022 16:27

Hi everyone!
Congratulations on everyone's bfp so far!
Hope it's ok if I join.
I'm very early, only 10dpo but had a bfp with a frer this afternoon. Praying for a sticky bean as I've previously had a mmc and have one healthy baby!
Extremely shocked as it took us years to conceive our first and this was a whim!
Stick dust to all! 💫

chillichillioil · 14/08/2022 17:11

Hi everyone

Moved from the other chat. I'm 5+2 today and my boobs are killing and the period like pains are still there. Keep checking to see if it's blood as I'm so paranoid. It's soooo hard not to worry in this limbo stage. Booked a scan for next Sunday and it's dragging. Hope you're all doing ok xxx

ancienthouse · 14/08/2022 18:08

I got a 3+ and a proper dye stealer this afternoon so I'm going to stop testing now unless I start spotting or something. I'm still worried but at least it looks OK for now. I really want to go for a scan at 7 weeks but I can't go until 8.5 because of childcare!

J0dI333 · 14/08/2022 18:44

Hi all,
New to the site completely. After 3 yr of ttc after our TFMR in 2019 we’ve fallen pregnant on our first round of IVF, due roughly 24th April. So anxious and symptom spotting, wishing everyone a happy healthy 9 month x

Emeal123 · 14/08/2022 18:50

@ancienthouse i got a 3+ and proper dye stealer this afternoon too! Not going to test anymore and have booked an early scan foe Saturday. How far along are you? X

ancienthouse · 14/08/2022 19:02

@Emeal123 I'm either 5+3 or 5 weeks exactly, depending on whether I trust when I think I ovulated! How about you?

Emeal123 · 14/08/2022 19:25

@ancienthouse i’m about 5+1 but have very irregular cycles so I won’t be surprised if the date changes slightly

Congratulations and welcome! I have a daughter who is 4 but I've been TTC my second for 3 years too! I totally get the symptom spotting and worry.

Chocolat · 14/08/2022 20:51

Hi all just joining from the previous thread.
6+5 today, had pretty bad nausea on Friday, have had some over the weekend but not as bad

SkeletonSkins · 14/08/2022 21:21

@ancienthouse and @Emeal123 congrats on both of your 3+! That’s brilliant. I’m starting to believe the lines so hopefully I can join you soon with not testing!

Welcome @Chocolat , hope the nausea doesn’t last too long!

Congratulations @J0dI333 , I bet that positive just felt amazing.

@chillichillioil Welcome and congrats! I relate with tbe sore boobs, cramping and checking for blood.

Someone should create some sort of pregnancy tracker that alerts you if your HCG levels start to drop 😂 new Apple Watch feature maybe? Although would probably only add to my anxiety!

Springblooms08 · 14/08/2022 21:23

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Tentatively joining as I’m 4 weeks today I think. I got my bfp on Wednesday.

I’m slightly confused on dates - first day of AF was 6th July, but I only got a positive opk on 30th July. Am I right in thinking today I’m 14dpo / 4 weeks pregnant?

Thanks so much for any input!

simplythequest · 14/08/2022 21:37

Hi @Springblooms08 and congratulations! Regardless of when you ovulated, I think the doctors will be dating your pregnancy from the 6th of July, meaning you are 5 weeks and 5 days, I think? They change due dates based on the length of your cycles and how baby measures on the scans, so ovulating later isnt an issue.

Could be wrong, but that's the impression I get after reading lots!

Springblooms08 · 14/08/2022 21:51

@simplythequest thank you so much that is really helpful! It’s a funny one to get your head around, isn’t it. I guess ‘progression’ wise I am 4 weeks based on when I ovulated, but perhaps docs will see it differently. My cycles are anything from 33-46 days so a tricky one! Hope you are doing well :)

Tropicana1 · 14/08/2022 22:27

@CinderellaFant im so sorry about your previous MC, really hope everything with this pregnancy goes smoothly and your follow up scan is positive news.

@Springblooms08 they will date you from your last period and totally ignore what you tell them about ovulation (happened with my first!) and then re-date you if needed at your 12 week dating scan based of measurements

simplythequest · 14/08/2022 22:28

@Springblooms08 have you looked at your due date, based on your shorter cycle length compared to your due date based on the ovulation date? Not necessarily accurate, but could be interesting to see if there's any difference!

I'm good thanks - I'm only 5w and 1d into my pregnancy, but got my 3+ on a clearblue yesterday at exactly 5 weeks, which surprised me. I know many people have had to wait until later to get them.

SkeletonSkins · 15/08/2022 05:49

@Springblooms08 Congratulations! How did you feel seeing that positive test?!

I’m in a similar boat as you as I have longer cycles which dates me later than I actually am. According to my period I’m 5 weeks 1 day but I know I’m actually 4 weeks 3 days because I know when I ovulated. I asked a question about it on here actually and was advised to give a slightly later date for my last period if I’m sure if my ovulation date, which I am, so that I don’t end up thinking I’m measuring ‘behind’.
