Hi everyone, hoping I can join? I'm due 3rd March and had my dating scan last week. I had a horrendous missed miscarriage last year so I've just been lurking on this board as I was worried about the outcome of the scan but all appears well!

I'm starting to feel better (no nausea) and far less tired as I get closer to 14 weeks but that comes with its own worries - is it normal to not really feel pregnant anymore?

I'm hoping some of the more seasoned pregnant mums can offer reassurance as I'm clearly an anxious first timer😅

TeddyBeans · 30/08/2022 10:09

@LaForza101 congratulations! So pleased to hear all was well at your scan ❤️ yes the second trimester is the nice lull between first trimester sickness and third trimester hugeness/uncomfortable-ness. Symptoms fade, to be replaced by kicks and other movements. It's the peaceful part of pregnancy for the majority of women 😊

Got a letter from the hospital saying my baby’s risk for Down’s, Edward’s and Patau’s is 1:100,000 🙌
can’t wait for the 20 week screening to be done as well!

TeddyBeans · 30/08/2022 10:15

@havanamama great news, congratulations!

Thanks @TeddyBeans ! :)

My other main news this week is getting a pregnancy pillow tomorrow! Cannot wait! I find it so difficult to remember to sleep on the left side and tucking a pillow between the knees is just not practical 😂🫠

alotoftutus · 30/08/2022 10:52

@havanamama pregnancy pillows are the best! I picked up a free one from market place yesterday and can't wait to start using it! Best invention ever!!

Babynum2 · 30/08/2022 11:10

Just seeing if anyone else is using bandger notes or just my hosp? Its so much better than older systems i can see all my results and everything midwife types up even my obs every 4 hours when i was in hosp. I got my blood results that evening uploaded onto it.

@Babynum2 I've got this app this time round. Seems really good although I've got nothing on there so far 🤣

@LaForza101 congratulations 🎊 I can't wait for the second trimester, hoping I can enjoy some food again 🤣

@havanamama I've not stopped using my pregnancy pillow since my last baby 3 years ago 🤣 find it so much better for sleeping

AK93 · 30/08/2022 11:37

I've got the badger notes app too x

allthingssparkly · 30/08/2022 12:15

Scan went well this morning, measuring 13w1d 😍

Splashh · 30/08/2022 12:19

Congrats! Mine went well too 12+6 😊 and now due on 8th march!

allthingssparkly · 30/08/2022 12:20

Aw amazing @Splashh I'm due 6th March x

havanamama · 30/08/2022 12:30

What week do you all plan to take maternity leave?

JB2021 · 30/08/2022 13:40

@havanamama when did you have your scan done? Wondering how long from scan to letter. Have you gone public your news yet?

LittleAcorn20 · 30/08/2022 13:41

@LaForza101 congratulations. Same due date as me 🥰
Yes really normal for symptoms to let up and it feels quite sudden too.
I've definitely felt a real improvement this weekend, try and relax and just enjoy the reduction in symptoms. They'll be back, or new ones in their place. And it's not too long to wait til you'll start to feel movements which is then very reassuring.

firstlittleone · 30/08/2022 14:02

Hi all
hope you’re all feeling ok and getting closer to the 12 week mark where I feel I can relax a little more 😂
Wondering if any of you have started to get a bump yet, unsure if I’ve got something or if it’s just bloat!! I’m 11 weeks xxx

havanamama · 30/08/2022 14:04

@JB2021 it was a week ago.

we told family and friends around 7 weeks, I’ll tell work around 20 weeks

Franklin321 · 30/08/2022 14:08

@firstlittleone im 12 weeks this week and have a bump! I think I’ve got a couple of weeks left and then they’ll be no hiding it 🫣 I popped pretty early with my son though…just a pure lack of any stomach muscles to keep it under wraps haha!

JB2021 · 30/08/2022 14:15

@havanamama work already know, as do parents.

Scan this week and then we will tell rest of family (brothers) and our friends

allthingssparkly · 30/08/2022 14:21

Any ladies want to guess whether my little one is a boy or a girl?

Will be finding out in October 😍

Due March 2023 - thread 2
TeddyBeans · 30/08/2022 15:47

@allthingssparkly lovely scan ❤️ no nub visible but from the head shape I'd hazard a guess at a girl

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 30/08/2022 15:55

@allthingssparkly no clue but I'll say boy for fun.

I can't wait to find out the gender. Well be doing an early scan for the first time, have 2 girls already and fully expecting a third, just want to prove to everyone that I'm right and then start buying 🤣

havanamama · 30/08/2022 16:24

@allthingssparkly at how many weeks can you get an accurate estimation?
my sex scan will be at exactly 20 weeks

allthingssparkly · 30/08/2022 16:27

@havanamama I think the accuracy for knowing the sex of your baby is from 16-17 weeks onwards.

Some ladies book a private early gender scan before their NHS 20 week scan to find out. I'm tempted to do this and book for 17 weeks, we will see! 😊

Jholli · 30/08/2022 17:21

Ugh me again
I’ve been not eating much at all due to HG I was able to keep down a couple of chicken wings yesterday and a can of coke but then got diarrhea and a really bad tummy ache 🤕 feeling really sorry for myself is this normal?
