Hi everyone! I had my scan today. I’m 12+3 by my (definitely right dates) - baby is measuring at 13+1. So nice to see it wriggling around!! Just waiting on blood tests to come back for screening now! 😃

My goodness who knew the first trimester would be so tiring 😫 I'm literally having to nap during the day everyday 😴 thankfully my work is based mostly from home! Not sure how you mamma's to be with active jobs do it, you're superheroes !

Cats23 · 29/08/2022 17:30

I have a scan on Friday.
Im 10 weeks but because I think I have felt baby move , they have broight date forward for scan.
I will also be on asprin this wrek- I had pre-eclampsia with DD1 ( Born at 27 wks. She is now 19 & thankfully had zero issues)
Today I feel weak , shopping this Am was hard...Im needing a daily nap too!
Nausea has eased slightly but im still not eating or drinking much- Ive peed twice since 7 am and barely any pee.
I still feel very nauseaus from 6pm though.
Good luck to all with scans this week.

JB2021 · 29/08/2022 18:04

Those who have had their 12 week scan, how soon did test results come back? Scan on Thursday

Splashh · 29/08/2022 18:46

I have my 11 week scan tomorrow too! Haven't had a scan in 2.5 weeks and time has been going so slowly. So relieved its tomo but also very nervous. I have my follow up midwife appt next wk Monday, she's expecting results back by then. Good luck to everyone with scans this week 🤞🏽

Babynum2 · 29/08/2022 18:48

@alotoftutus ahhh dont worry when i told me 9YO we was pregnant she saif why i dont want no baby in this house and my 3 YO just shouted NOOOO at me! So was all happy responsed here🙄

havanamama · 29/08/2022 19:30

It’s been 5 days since my screening and bloods and I’ve got no call back yet. They said no news is good news, if high risk, they would have called within 2 days.

JB2021 · 29/08/2022 20:09

@havanamama thank you!

Mine was on the 18th and I still haven't had my results yet. Also on the no news is good news team. They said they'd call if anything was high risk

Ahh, reassuring that it's not just me! Sorry you're feeling bad though.

Perhaps I'll try the morning like a previous poster. My midwife did say to take them with food as it's easier on the tummy, but that doesn't seem to have helped.

I took my aspirin this morning and my BP at 6.45ish this evening was 108/73. I figured if it's going to do it's thing, it's going to do it whatever time of day you take the tablets

@TeddyBeans thank you

@havanamama @TeddyBeans just debating when we tell people after the scan

TeddyBeans · 29/08/2022 20:31

@JB2021 what was your NT measurement?

OP posts:
JB2021 · 29/08/2022 20:36

@TeddyBeans not had scan yet, it's Thursday. Do they tell you the measurements before they tell you high/low risk?

Sorry if obvious questions, it's my first.

alotoftutus · 29/08/2022 20:39

Hi,

Completely TMI here but I'm going there anyway.

Does anyone else smell strange "down there"? Its definitely not urine, I don't think I'm leaking waters or anything but there's a smell coming out of me and it's making me super conscious that everyone else can smell it too Confused

Any ideas what it could be?

TeddyBeans · 29/08/2022 20:51

@JB2021 ah sorry. It'll say on your paperwork if you miss it in conversation. Mine was 1.8mm and less than 3.5mm is considered 'normal' so if you get less than 3.5mm then you're probably okay to tell people

@alotoftutus probably leukorrhea (I had to Google the spelling 🤣) - normal pregnancy discharge that keeps everything clean and healthy. Smells a bit but as long as it's not overpoweringly strong you're good

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 29/08/2022 20:53

@JB2021 and if you don't hear by Monday then all is well. They'll tell you when they take the bloods that they'll contact you by phone if you're high risk at all

JB2021 · 29/08/2022 21:00

@TeddyBeans thank you! Parents already know. We are thinking of telling brothers and aunties and grandma on Thursday after scan then wait till results before telling wider

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 29/08/2022 21:08

Thanks @TeddyBeans
@JB2021 they told me the NT measurement (1.9mm) and said the bloods should be back in a week. My baseline risk is highish because of my age and if the total risk comes back 1:150 or more then they will offer NIPT.

good luck to everyone else with scans this week 😀

havanamama · 29/08/2022 21:15

Out of curiosity, why do you wait till 12 week screening results but not until the 20 week screening results?

havanamama · 29/08/2022 21:17

@alotoftutus healthy pregnancy discharge should not smell.
Do you have any itching, yellow/green colour discharge or burning when peeing? Perhaps worth speaking with a GP to get tested for infections/UTIs,etc.

Babynumberthreeee · 29/08/2022 21:51

Hi everyone,

Have been off grid for the last week camping. Kids had an amazing time. I'm exhausted 🤣🤣

Luckily went with my sister who was an amazing help.

Had my booking in appointment yesterday, Luckily as I had my last child there they had my loooooong health history so it was a quicker appointment than I had expected.

Due to my age, past pregnancy complications and my mums health history I am under consultant care, won't be allowed past 40 weeks and will have blood thinners post pregnancy to prevent blood clots. Why am I having a third 🤣🤣🙈🙈

To those with hairy bellys I was told that means you're having a boy as its the testosterone that makes you hairy, and to be fair when I had my boy I was hairy and with my daughter nothing but thats just 1 persons experience! It might just be hormones playing havoc, ( i take no responsibility for hairy bellies and baby girls being born) 😉

I have found taking my vitamins in the evening have stopped me feeling sick.

Loving all the baby scans, can't wait for mine on the 12th!

I won't be telling anyone until the bloods are back as my second pregnancy came back as high risk and I found it really stressful being congratulated whilst I was dealing with having an nipt and trying to get my head around the idea of potentially having a child with additional needs.

Babynum2 · 29/08/2022 22:51

@JB2021 i got my results via my badger notes everything is uploaded there not sure if you still have paper notes your way also bare in mind bank hol weekend!

@havanamama i think even if i wanted to i couldnt hide my pregnancy until week 20 im 13 weeks i have a bump and you can just tell because im sick have symptons ect.

@alotoftutus my app this week says you can experience something called leukorrhea a milky white dishcharge that has a mild odor. Its to protect from infections so could possible be that?

JB2021 · 29/08/2022 22:52

@Babynum2 badger hasnt been mentioned yet. Scan this coming Thursday, not last week

TeddyBeans · 30/08/2022 08:52

Anyone at 14 weeks had any suddenly lingering pain? I was woken up early this morning with what felt like a cramp all over my belly and it only eased off when I changed positions. Not concerned, just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar
