Congrats @barneymcgroo !

Cruz86 · 12/09/2022 20:32

Oh my goodness, how have I missed our first rainbow baby?! Massive congratulations @Bridgey8! Rafe is beautiful and I love the name. It's on our list for middle names! 3 weeks and 1 day early 😯 Did you go into labour spontaneously or were you advised to be induced for some reason? Hope you're feeling okay. What lovely news 🥰🥰

How is everyone? Sorry I'm so crap at replying. The Summer holidays were so busy and tiring, but I've just ushered my first born off to primary school and now seem very empty 😩 but it does mean I'll be back on here more now 😁

Xx

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 01:46

Hello all, I'm awake and feeling crap - achey and warm through body, with some one sided abdominal pains. A bit concerned about ectopic, about miscarriage, but also feeling it might just be trapped wind as I haven't been doing a lot of passing wind... It's not hugely painful just uncomfortable but causing 1) anxiety and 2) lack of sleep! I'm thinking I might call EPAS tomorrow morning?

Arwen7 · 13/09/2022 11:20

@Annny27 @flowergarden16 I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one being grumpy lol

@flowergarden16 is your next scan to check whether the placenta has moved up? Good luck xx

@barneymcgroo good news, how exciting almost there!

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl how many weeks pregnant are you now? If you haven't had a scan yet and are having pain that is worrying you just call them and see what they suggest x

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 11:22

Hi @Arwen7 thanks for the reply! Im only about 5 weeks. Don't want to tmi but I'm pretty sure it was gastro pain more than anything - was up all night with a very dodgy tum and this morning no longer have pain on one side.

This all feels like such a long road - we are booking a private scan for Oct to see if there's even anything viable and NHS scan isn't until 2nd week in November 😅

flowergarden16 · 13/09/2022 11:25

@Arwen7 yeah to check placenta position but it's v unlikely to have moved so think really it's to check it's not got worse and then agree a plan and hopefully section date x

Arwen7 · 13/09/2022 11:29

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl congratulations! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. I did have an on/off dodgy tummy for the first weeks but also due to previous ectopic went for a private early scan to make sure it was in the right place. First few weeks are so tough, sending you a hug!

@flowergarden16 I see! Hopefully it will make things clearer and give you a date to look forward too 💕

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 16:29

@Arwen7 decided to contact EPAS just in case so waiting to hear back from them ☺️

sunnyd67 · 14/09/2022 07:55

Why are people so keen to comment on the size of your belly, the way you are carrying and generally make comments regards to your pregnancy, it gives me such an anxiety. Someone at work yesterday told me I have dropped. But I haven't! She then went on to tell me how small my bump is... I had just come back from my midwife app, where she measured me smaller again and I felt like the way she measured me was off as she went so low to my pubic bone, she definitely didn't do that last time. And then I googled about belly dropping, I'm nor the baby is ready to go in labour, I am only 33 weeks. I absolutely hate these comments.
I've book a private growth scan for 34+4 days, so I can put my mind at ease. I asked her about growth scan since fundal height is slightly off, she said no need and I can go privately if I like. ☹️

speake1 · 14/09/2022 08:31

@sunnyd67 the comments are so frustrating, I’m also constantly getting told how small my bump is. Don’t think people realise the anxiety that can cause I.e. is it small because there’s something wrong with the baby, they aren’t growing correctly etc. Hang in there, not too long until term & your baby being here where you can keep an eye on them 🤍

In relation to a growth scan, if your midwife had any concerns she would be sending you for one so again try not to worry about it. They don’t take any chances with these things & as soon as you are not within the accepted tolerance below or above your estimated growth curve they would send you for one so you must just be off the line but still within the tolerance allowed for. Also fundal measurements are so notoriously inaccurate, even when I got told I had no fundal growth atall in the previous 4 weeks, I went for my growth scan & everything was fine, baby had just changed position and is following a lower percentile than average but still perfectly healthy. Hopefully your private growth scan will put your mind at ease, most likely you’ll go and baby will be above 10th centile but below 50th and that is perfect 😊 xxx

flowergarden16 · 14/09/2022 08:32

@sunnyd67 ugh I know! So many people tell me my bump is small (it's actually exactly on measurement for 30 weeks at 30) just remember they are not medical experts!

If you can feel movement and your midwife etc is happy then all good. Not all babies drop let alone at 33 weeks x

Annny27 · 14/09/2022 08:33

@sunnyd67 I have been told (in the space of days...) "oh you are carrying low", "wow you can tell the baby is really high", "you look like you are due any minute", "you have such a petite bump"

I love people commenting on bump and baby but maybe "your bump is looking so lovely" is best! And not things thay make me paranoid about the size or shape haha

barneymcgroo · 14/09/2022 08:48

Mine measures tiny fundal wise - all three babies have done. Several people unable to believe I'm less than 4 weeks away! I just say I've got a lot of storage (I'm quite tall...)

Growth scans all been fine, in line with previous pregnancies, so I'm going to listen to the medical people rather than the ladies in shops...

Hope everyone's doing well today.

arianasky · 14/09/2022 08:56

@sunnyd67 totally agree! No one would comment if we weren't pregnant i find it so rude 🙄 a woman I work with said she'd never guess I'm 30 weeks I just look a bit bloated or chubby 🤬 she then laughed and said don't worry it's not chub just baby!? Like who says something like that 😂 would she say I look chubby if I wasn't pregnant doubt it. There's a way of saying things and her being like that isn't the way.

Ha yes I constantly get told my bump looks too small and then that it looks too big. My neighbours said I must have gotten my dates wrong because I look bigger and baby has dropped 😂 they keep saying baby is coming soon and I'm only 30 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️. Anyway growth is ok at the moment so I don't worry but even if it wasn't, it's just so unsolicited and people should know better.

Best though was the other day when I was hiking (easy path, nothing crazy!) with two of my friends and when I asked for directions to this couple they looked at my bump and looked completely horrified, she then said it was a very long way for me and gave me the most disapproving look 😒 I said 'thank you I've done it before just need directions' and continued my path. Little they knew I used to run ultras some months ago and that I was in the good company of two nurse-midwives 🥰

Bridgey8 · 14/09/2022 13:15

Hi @Cruz86

Spontaneous labour - he was so high in my ribs kicking about that no one thought he was on the way! Just rolled over in bed in middle of night and my waters broke. Drove myself to hospital and started to contract on way but when I got there I was only 0cm but because of my group strep b I needed to go in. They stayed taking about inducing me because no one thought I was in labour (I knew I was) and then at next check I was 4cm haha!

Wishing everyone so much love and luck for their rainbows.

I'm back in hospital with a yellow baby so he's on the lamps. But he seems fairly chilled haha

Skl2021 · 14/09/2022 13:47

@Bridgey8 I'm so scared of turning in bed now incase the same happens to me 🤣🙊 my eldest had some jaundice and spent some time under the lamps too only a couple of days so hopefully u won't be there long 🤞 how big was he? And how are you feeling? X

flowergarden16 · 14/09/2022 14:16

Awww @Bridgey8 he is so gorgeous! He looks a great size too? Hope he's feeling a little better soon and back home but glad he's enjoyed the baby sunbeds xx

calimc83 · 14/09/2022 15:17

Hey ladies. I hope you are all well?! I'm not sure if you'll remember me but I had 2 MMC last year and earlier this year. I've been secretly stalking this board for ages now..but haven't dared join incase I jinx anything 🙈 crazy I know. Currently coming up to 14 weeks now, had my dating scan and just got my bloods back which were low risk. Still thinking of getting a private NIPT just for the extra reassurance. I'm at the anxious stage of having all my initial scans ( 4 so far!) but not really sure if it's wind 😆 or baby starting to move 😬. And a Huge congrats @Bridgey8 he's beautiful! Xx

arianasky · 14/09/2022 15:51

@Bridgey8 oh wow I bet that was a shock! I hope you're both doing well 💕

@calimc83 amazing news! I'm so so happy for you my heart broke for you when you had the second MMC, I'm glad all low risk how are you feeling? 💕

Skl2021 · 14/09/2022 15:52

@calimc83 so lovely to see you here! Congratulations ♥️ I have been popping on the conception boards to see how u and the others that were on our original threads were getting on! So glad your now 14 weeks and all your tests are low! How are you doing? Xx

barneymcgroo · 14/09/2022 15:58

@calimc83 Oh that's such lovely news!

barneymcgroo · 14/09/2022 16:02

@Bridgey8 Looking great! And you've made me fairly get my skates on with regard to packing hospital bags and finding the baby clothes...

Tried the baby seat in the back of the car today. This is number 3, so I think we'll have to have one of the boys in the front, then the two youngest in the back with DH or me. Anyway, got the seat in, got myself in, closed the door to see how snug it was (not too bad...). And then forgot the child lock was on! Had to call my husband to get me out (he didn't answer) and so had to crawl out through the front seats. Felt like a bit of a tit...

speake1 · 14/09/2022 18:57

@calimc83 so happy for you, congratulations!! 🥰🤍
