Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@greenerfingers I used my ball religiously from 28 weeks last time but my daughter only turned transverse at 39 weeks. Didn't find out until labour 😂.

Tofu35 · 29/08/2022 06:46

Made the mistake of going to a picnic with some friends yesterday. Thought I'd be ok if I sat on a cushion on the ground but soon as I stood up, my pelvis reminded me I'm 6mths pregnant and shouldn't have done that. I then had an hour to wait for a bus, which meant standing around which exacerbated everything. I was hobbling around the house last night and again this morning.

Need to remember to be kind to my body in these next few months!!

greenerfingers · 29/08/2022 07:01

Oh God @Chanel05 🤦🏽‍♀️. They always save it till the last minute don't they 😂. My son went back to back at 5cm dilated. Here's hoping these baby's behave and give us straight forward labours!

Mommabear20 · 29/08/2022 14:03

@greenerfingers baby was transverse at my 29 weeks scan and I'm pretty sure she still is 🤦‍♀️ really hoping she decides to flip head down (and NOT back to back!) before delivery! Don't fancy them trying to manipulate her into the right position! 😂

greenerfingers · 29/08/2022 15:08

I wouldn't worry too much till 36 weeks @Mommabear20. Mine tend to stay transverse till there's no space left. My son didn't turn till about 34 weeks if I remember correctly. But ahhh the relief on my ribs was phenomenal.

Mommabear20 · 29/08/2022 16:54

@greenerfingers that should have said 20 week scan 😂
I'm seeing my midwife on the 19th September so hopefully she'll be able to feel if baby has moved round or not 🤞🤞

Anyone else got horrendous heartburn already? X

Tofu35 · 29/08/2022 21:21

@Jaaxe I have a nightly gaviscon for that very reason!

Yep, some days it’s awful

Mommabear20 · 30/08/2022 07:39

@Jaaxe not yet, but I got it really bad in both my others in the third trimester so sure it won't be long before it kicks in this time!

My DS decided to go back to back at 37+6.. my induction date was at 38'weeks. What a little pickle 🤣.

Try honeydew melon. Really helps take the edge off for me.

HayleyBean · 30/08/2022 20:13

Thankfully heartburn is the one symptom I've not had yet! Probably jinxed myself now!

JC84 · 30/08/2022 20:43

No heartburn for me, I heard its worse with girls does that apply to those of you who are having it?

Laughingmole · 30/08/2022 22:26

I’ve escaped heartburn so far 🤞
With him moving around so much now, the nausea is starting to come back though. Nowhere near as bad as first trimester! He is such a wriggler!

greenerfingers · 31/08/2022 09:25

Ouch @PinkButtercups !! What a cheeky little thing ahaha.

I suffer really severe heartburn but first trimester only. To the point I vomit stomach acid and need meds. It goes away after that. I'm one of the odd ones that only has it at the beginning and its most definitely not limited to girls or worse. A lot of people say it's worse with boys. I just think it depends on your body as I've carried both and had it horrendous (worse with son.)

Jaaxe · 31/08/2022 13:52

@greenerfingers agree I think mine was worse with my son than my girls ….not finding out sex this time but going off my heartburn I’m banking on another boy! X

snufkin84 · 31/08/2022 14:20

Hello, may I join? Baby boy due 31st Dec. I already have a little girl (just turned 4) and sadly also had a miscarriage back in February, which has meant I've been a lot more anxious this time round, though doing better now I've got through the 20 week scan and feeling baby move.

Mommabear20 · 31/08/2022 17:49

@Jaaxe my heartburn was far worse with my son too! Don't think I got any with my daughter 🤔

@snufkin84 welcome! Sorry to hear of your loss, but glad this on is going well for you! How are you feeling?

snufkin84 · 31/08/2022 20:16

@Mommabear20 Thank you. Feeling pretty well, I'm glad to say - but maybe it's too early for the heartburn to have hit (not yet 23 weeks)...

hopefulsunshine11 · 01/09/2022 08:42

So, i am 27 weeks and I ended up in MAU yesterday for discharge/bleeding. I also have been getting cramps on and off. They gave me an internal and said cervix was closed and no signs of new blood. I went home and alter on got a stringy bit of old dark red blood and this morning it's went white/pink again. Just going to monitor it but it's really scared me.

They said it could just be irritation or it's a vascal area.

I'm still getting niggling cramps but nothing severe or painful.

I'm also 100% sure I felt him kick this morning, I never normally feel him until later on in the day. I know this should be a good sign but I've read that increased kicks or different patterns could be a concern?

I've booked a private scan for Saturday to try out my mind at ease.

Just wondering if anyone had similar experiences or any words of wisdom?

Thanks

Jaaxe · 01/09/2022 09:06

@hopefulsunshine11 did they not offer to get you a scan to double check? I’d push for that on the nhs lovely, how much bleeding was there? If it was just a little it could of been from irritation on cervix? I’ve heard that’s quite common in pregnancy. Sorry I haven’t any first hand experience but hope the bleeding stops now and was just a one off. I think baby movements are good and that they only start a regular pattern around 28 weeks but if you are concerned I think you’re at a stage now (27weeks- coming into 3rd trimester, baby is viable etc) where they’d put you on the monitor to check baby’s movements to reassure you x

hopefulsunshine11 · 01/09/2022 09:24

@Jaaxe Sorry I should have said they used a Doppler and sounded his heartbeat which she had no concerns with. They won't do scans I don't think until over 28 weeks.

I've gone back to the loo and there's a little bit more brown stringy blood. I'll give it another day and call back if it doesn't stop.

Just don't see where it's coming from! The fact it's accompanied by a bit cramps is making me feel more uneasy. I really think they should scan more, it's terrible how little scans are offered.

Thanks

greenerfingers · 01/09/2022 09:38

Poor you @hopefulsunshine11 what a scare! I had this with my first at 26/27 weeks. Mine was bright red blood and got blue lighted in as they thought it was labour. Cervix was firmly shut but I bled intermittently for 3 days. First day was full on period style blood, and second slightly darker, third was old blood. They checked and guessed it was irritation on the cervix (I did have a cerclage in so perhaps it was that), they felt baby was irritating it. Anyway I got steroids and was monitored for preterm labour but nope he stayed in for another 14 weeks. I made sure to take a week off my feet entirely after that and did minimal lifting/ moving. It's terrifying.

Just be hyper alert as I'm sure you will and take ie easy Xx

Sadly they don't offer scans as they said they won't shine a light on anything at that stage. If the cervix is opening an examination is better. And with my cervical irritation I bled a LOT. Gosh it was terrifying. I filled up pads that first day then would have hours of nothing. Then another full pad. Was so bizarre and we never did figure it.
