Hi all lovely people!

Here’s a thread for all March babies 🥰 I got my BFP this morning at 10dpo with a due date on the 10th of March 2023. I suffered a miscarriage at 7 weeks in early March so it feels special that we get our rainbow 🌈 baby around the one year mark!

A little about me: I’m 27, living in Sweden with my fiancé. This is our first child and we’ve really longed for this baby and desperately hoping it will stick this time!

Welcome to this journey, please tell me a little bit about you!

@G0ldfinch last period 8 June for me.

When we told parents just felt like we could talk about it. We have a works party that both husband and I are going to next weekend so that might be hard - his work and people may notice. Although I usually have gin and lemonade so could just have lemonade in a gin glass. He's hoping to tell his boss so I'm hoping his boss is on the bar!

I know my period hasn't arrived and my pregnancy test went positive very quickly but still doesn't feel real if that makes sense

allthingssparkly · 19/07/2022 10:00

@G0ldfinch Only my children, my family and my partners family know about my pregnancy. Not intending on telling anyone else I.e friends ect until after my 12 week scan but yes it was nice to tell family they're all excited for us 😊 x

JB2021 · 19/07/2022 10:02

@allthingssparkly we have told my parents, my FIL and then both our managers are going to know. One of my friends knows but that's it until scan

allthingssparkly · 19/07/2022 10:04

Best way I think @JB2021 how many weeks pregnant are you? X

Bonjoirmadme · 19/07/2022 10:05

Hello guys I’m due on the 27th of March 2023 just found out last night and I’m soooo happy. Good luck to us all and I’m looking forward hearing everyone’s experience until our baby comes 🙂🙂

JB2021 · 19/07/2022 10:05

@allthingssparkly just coming into week 6. Waiting for call from midwife to book appointment but think they only work Thursday and Friday so hopefully will hear end of the week.

Still doesn't feel real and it's like I want confirmation if that makes sense.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 19/07/2022 10:07

Hello!

Hoping I could jump on this thread, just found out I'm 3 weeks pregnant with an estimated due date of 31st March (so just about a March baby 😀)

This is my first, and to be honest I feel completely lost with what I'm meant to do next! Do I call the doctors now or wait a few weeks? Feels like an absolute minefield and it definitely hasn't properly sank in yet!

allthingssparkly · 19/07/2022 10:08

Ah how exciting 😊 I'm 6+3 going off LMP.
Are you having an early scan or waiting till your 12 week one?

Yeah I know what you mean, I've got mine booked it's in a couple of weeks time which I'm pleased about.

JB2021 · 19/07/2022 10:10

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark welxome to the first timers club! I rang my doctors and basically said I'd tested and wasn't sure who I needed appointment with (think all doctors surgeries vary). I saw a doctor who just told me to go to reception and book a midwife appointment. Although couldn't do that as she books her own so waiting for her to call

G0ldfinch · 19/07/2022 10:18

@JB2021 I know exactly what you mean about confirmation, that’s why I don’t want to tell anyone yet as it doesn’t feel real. I have few symptoms at mo too. We are very similar stages, last period for me was 9th June. I think you’ll be fine getting a lemonade in a gin glass! I’ve had a few events recently where I couldn’t do that (dinner parties etc) so have had to feign headaches etc - feels a bit false.

It sounds like you and @allthingssparkly have gone with telling a few people early, good for you! Hopefully after my early scan next week I’ll feel more confident to start.

Welcome to the thread @Bonjoirmadme and congratulations!

G0ldfinch · 19/07/2022 10:22

Oh and welcome @AGirlsNameIsAryaStark, congratulations! Also pregnant for the first time and clueless!

I think what you do depends on your area. Some people went via their GP, in my area you can self-refer directly to midwives. If you go on the NHS website you can find your local service I think.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 19/07/2022 10:43

@JB2021 @G0ldfinch Thank you 😘It all feels a bit overwhelming at the minute to be honest, I was adamant we wouldn't fall so quickly (2 months TTC tracking BBT and ovulation), so it's still not really sunk in yet and I know 3 weeks is so very very early!

Congratulations! It differs by area but if you call your doctors they should let you know what the process is. When I had my first, I registered it with the GP and they filled in a form and passed it to the maternity service at the hospital.

For those who are experiencing spotting, how are things going? Has there been a positive outcome despite it? Or, is it still to be determined? My spotting has come back with a vengeance at 5 weeks 2 days. The last three times led to miscarriage so I'm very worried.

Kt12344 · 19/07/2022 13:06

@EasterBunny7 my spotting started exactly 6 weeks I'm 6+4 today and still spotting, it's not filling a panty liner and it's browny/ yellow so I'm not overly worried, my miscarriage started like this in May but I think I had started bleeding properly by now but it took 2 weeks to finish, how are you?

It might be worth contacting your GP or local early pregnancy unit…I know they recommend progesterone if there is any bleeding in pregnancy following previous miscarriages. I’ve had 3 miscarriages previously and the clinic I’m under said even if I was to have a few spots they would prescribe it!

Overthebow · 19/07/2022 16:14

I had spotting until 14 weeks in my foray pregnancy, had scans at EPU but they never found a reason and everything was fine. If contact the EPU and see if they can give you an early scan.

I've just found out too and apparently due the 30th so we're similar. Still in shock but hopefully will sink in over the next few days.

LittleAcorn20 · 19/07/2022 16:34

@Kt12344 @EasterBunny7
I had pink spotting all day last Wednesday and then nothing (EPU scan fine) but now it has just started again this afternoon.
So first time it happened about 6 weeks and this time about 7 weeks.
It's so nerve wracking!!
@Overthebow did it happen to you lots? Intermittently? I feel reassured by the scan last week but it's never nice seeing pink/red 😬😔 this is my second pregnancy and never had it with my first at all.

it happened intermittently but usually a couple of days a week and it was also quite shocking to see. I was so anxious the whole time and went to out of hours a couple of times and EPU, but it stopped completely at 14 weeks.

LittleAcorn20 · 19/07/2022 17:10

@Overthebow that must have been so nerve wracking. But thanks for sharing your experience it really helps to know it can be very normal.
I'm trying to stay rational because it's only been a little bit today, and all was fine last week after much more. But I am a bit of an anxious mess because of it.
It's a bit of a pain to go to EPU everytime it happens, our nearest is 35mins away and I can't take my daughter so always a bit tricky, but the nurse there did give me direct access to re-refer straight to them if it happened again so I feel good knowing I have it to fall back on.
My first pregnancy felt way more plain sailing this early on!

G0ldfinch · 19/07/2022 18:08

@JB2021 I just got home to letters for both my first midwife appointment and 12 week scan today so hopefully yours not too far off now! Does make it feel more real

Kt12344 · 19/07/2022 18:10

@G0ldfinch Did you organise your 12 week scan yourself? I've got my midwife appointment for 3 weeks I thought they sorted it then, is it something I need to sort? (I've no idea about all this) 🙂

GreenIsle · 19/07/2022 18:11

With my last DC I had spotting at 2 different times pre 12 weeks and both times it was bright red on wiping. I went for private scans to check and all was well. Never found a reason for the bleeding.

Super anxious incase it happens again because it causes so much stress. Currently 7 weeks. However I'm actually on maternity leave so more chilled and not rushed of my feet at this stage last pregnancy due to DH being off.
