I'm having a surprise @CurlyNo2 but literally everyone is telling me I'm having a boy so I will be very surprised if it's a girl 🙈

Nice to check in with everyone! So glad I'm in the third trimester. Has anyone else not slowed up yet? I'm still working, looking after 5 horses (and still riding much to my DPs dismay 😂) and 2 dogs and have moved house recently so doing lots to it before baby comes. Everyone telling me to take it easy but I feel like I need to keep going whilst I can and get stuff done! Finish work in 2 weeks so really looking forward to having some chill time before baby comes.

tb4122 · 16/09/2022 20:46

@Cocobeau my bump is also measuring on target but I feel massive! Not helped by both my mum and my MIL telling me that I'm bigger already than they ever got. I'm 31 weeks tomorrow, I could have another 11 weeks to go and I'm getting a bit worried about how big I'm going to get Confused

Im really struggling today with everything!

My pelvic pain seems to be getting worse, it’s hurting to weight bare on my legs at times. I’ve horrendous piles so sitting is uncomfortable and nothing is working.

Im so stressed with work, that’s it’s really getting me down. My husband works a 3 hour commute away every day so by the time he gets home, I’ve had to do everything at home and then bedtime with my son.

Im so anxious about the birth. I have a perimental appt with a psychologist but it’s not until mid October.

My house is a shit hole and not at all ready for a newborn. We’re in the middle of buying a house which is soo stressful!

Sorry ladies for moaning, I’m hormonal, I’m tired as I’m not sleeping and I’m in a lot of pain! Hope everyone else is doing ok x

@tb4122
Do you have one of these charts in the back of your notes?

I only realised this week that they are individual to you! So my weight, BMI etc are in the top left corner and baby was measuring just about the 50th percentile at last check. I was so much more reassured when I realised these charts are personalised!

I had a growth scan this week because my bump had a growth spurt, but they think it's just because it had changed shape due to her being transverse last time and head down this time. There's so many reasons your bump may be a different size to your family's, I bet baby is perfect!

@CurlyNo2
Oh no, sorry to hear you're struggling ☹️

Is there any way you could go on maternity leave earlier? It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate.

Have you got a pregnancy pillow? I caved and bought one last week and it's been amazing. My sleep is so much better now.

Thinking of you!!

CurlyNo2 · 16/09/2022 21:34

Thank you @Eryr22 I was due to start my mat leave 3 weeks before my due date so finish beginning of Nov but I just don’t know if I’m going to last or whether I need to go off sick.

I have a pregnancy pillow but I don’t know if it’s the right one for me as I don’t really get along with it. Maybe I need to try some other options to see if that’s helps.

tb4122 · 16/09/2022 21:45

@Eryr22 I have got a chart but I didn't realise it was personalised. My notes are in the car, I'll have a look in the morning. Baby is measuring on the top line on mine but my midwife said that doesn't necessarily mean he's a big baby, hopefully that's true!

CurlyNo2 · 16/09/2022 21:48

My baby is around the 97th centile! I’m just awaiting confirmation as to whether I need to have a growth scan. On my one, they took into account the size of my son when he was born for some reason.

sarahj878 · 16/09/2022 21:55

@CurlyNo2 theres no shame in going off sick, we’ve got similar pain and I’m signed off because of mine. It’s very frustrating and debilitating and although I’m fortunate it’s not affected my mental health, it can cause significant stress on top of already being really hormonal! So definitely do what you need to do to get a bit of me time and relieve some of your stress, hope you feel better soon

I second this! I went off at about 9.5 weeks before my due date! Best decision I've made yet.

CurlyNo2 · 16/09/2022 22:07

Thanks ladies, I know I need to prioritise my health. I’ll see how I get in over the next week or two.

Beanniebaby22 · 16/09/2022 22:31

@tb4122 @Eryr22 I just had to go and look at my growth chart in my notes, I never realised it was personalised either lol.
My scan 2 weeks ago put me on the 50th centile, will see what I’m measuring at this weeks scan.

Has anyone written a birth plan? Just writing mine now, wonder if they actually look at it?

Cocobeau · 17/09/2022 07:25

@tb4122 i know what you mean. I have a mother in law who makes similarly unhelpful comments. About 6 weeks ago she said with a shocked expression “I hope it doesn’t get much bigger”. Thanks for that!

@rickandmorts im in the same boat as you. I’m glad to be able to be pretty much situation normal and just going to keep up with it as long as I feel up to it.

Bramblecrumble22 · 17/09/2022 07:52

I'm also having a surprise. Last time I found out we were having a girl but didn't tell anyone and everyone thought it was a boy. This time I am 60-70% thinking a boy.

FishyBaby · 17/09/2022 08:35

I'm slightly jealous of people with personalised charts being filled out, I'd find it reassuring to have something like that. To be honest I'd find it reassuring if they wrote anything in my notes! I do wonder what the point is in paper notes when my midwife literally writes the date, that I came alone and then signs it. Every other column is blank! Is that normal?

Beanniebaby22 · 17/09/2022 14:26

@FishyBaby yeah their documentation in my notes is brief aswell. But they do always record my blood pressure, urine result and if baby’s heart beat was heard.

TFMinx · 18/09/2022 03:17

I've been awake for an hour with really bad acid reflux. That's all I wanted to say really 😭 7 and a bit weeks to go, hopefully

VolcanicProtectorMan · 18/09/2022 07:28

@TFMinx I’ve been getting reflux really bad too. I spent an entire night awake with it on Wednesday and then it made me sick in the morning. I’m on omeprazole now which has helped, however my stomach just feels so full all the time, I can barely eat anything. Haven’t had a proper meal in days now

tb4122 · 18/09/2022 07:46

@TFMinx I was having the same, my doctor said to max out the gaviscon (I've got a generic version as it tastes better) and to take it four times a day regardless of symptoms rather than waiting until the reflux starts. The last 4 days I've taken 2 spoonfuls after every meal and 4 before bed, even if I'm not feeling anything, and it's really helped, I haven't been woken in the night since (well, not by reflux anyway!).

Beanniebaby22 · 18/09/2022 07:49

@tb4122 @TFMinx I second about the Gaviscon. I was able to find a cheap version in Home bargains so bought a few bottles. It’s a third of the price of Gaviscon and does the exact same thing. Definitely helps taking it before bed and after meals. X

CurlyNo2 · 18/09/2022 08:26

I’m sorry to hear you’re suffering badly with acid reflux. I went though a period of anything I ate would give me this sharp pain in my back for days.

I take gaviscon now every night before bed even if I don’t have any symptoms and so far, I’ve been ok.

TFMinx · 18/09/2022 08:52

Thank you all! I'll get down to the shop today and clear the shelves of whatever's on offer! Urgh, I'd forgotten how glamorous pregnancy can be.

OtiMama · 19/09/2022 06:57

Hey everyone, sorry I have been off the radar, a week ago I was working 80 to 90 hour week so glad things have calmed down now. Although yesterday a car hit the back of ours on the motorway, we are all ok which is the main thing but car is likely a write off. We only had it 10 months...we have to wait and see due to the bank holiday. It is all just such a stress, wish I was on leave already, although because I've worked so much I am doing less days between now and end of October. I am also in the painful pelvis club, just makes me grit my teeth so much.

Sorry some of you have acid reflux, must be so horrible. I would take whatever you can!

Our baby still has no name or even suggestions of names, life has been a whirlwind we just haven't really had the time. With our son we had one for weeks by now, funny how much more laid back about it all I am. I also need to get organised with all the baby bits, the house etc. When really I would just love to sleep for a week!

TFMinx · 19/09/2022 07:22

You poor thing @OtiMama the accident must've been a terrible shock; I'm glad you're all ok!

How much longer are you working for? I've got five long weeks left - my back is in agony and I'm so tired. Can't wait to finish

ALittleBitofVitriol · 19/09/2022 09:23

Glad you're all okay @OtiMama! And hope you get to take a breath and rest soon.

I picked up our capsule and the last few clothes items I wanted today, all ready now! Just over 7 weeks to go!
