@Bramblecrumble22 ah fab that’s a good idea. I was too lazy to do it myself so am dropping my stuff off to be cleaned next week. Looking forward to getting them back, they’ve been stored well and are in good condition but looking at some pics on her website I was amazed how some came up after looking horrendous! Expecting mine to look brand new lol. I’d say it would be safe in a safety sense if it’s never been in a crash? When I bought a car seat for my DS recently tho I remember the man telling me there were some car seats conforming to one set of safety regs and some conforming to a more recent set, both safe but additional tests on the more recent ones. So if it helps you feel better about using it maybe you could check to see which it conforms to?

Bramblecrumble22 · 04/09/2022 11:00

Yes Sarah, I looked that up yesterday when I was stressing and my car seat is 04 (most recent) 03 is ok, but older, 01 and 02 are illigal. I'm thinking I might splurge on new wheels for my travel system. Everything else looks great.

Hi @SimonaDM. We're due date buddies Smile.

I'm starting to feel really stressed now as the baby approaches and we have no housing sorted or even anything close. Currently trying to think of ways to move furniture/ get rid of it to add in space to fit baby's clothes/thing etc. I feel guilty but I've really not enjoyed this pregnancy and don't even look forward to labour as everything feels so unsettled. With my first I couldn't wait to meet him and was prepped beforehand.

Elle1709 · 05/09/2022 07:14

@SimonaDM hi 👋 I'm due with my first baby girl as well, I'm really excited but equally scared as well. Now its getting closer I'm worried about everything being prepared and how I will cope, and also very anxious about the birth and hospital stay, etc. I was just thinking last night how much our bodies go through before we even meet the baby! x

roobearbaby · 05/09/2022 08:09

Ladies. Do any of you have any suggestions to stop cramps overnight?

I woke up with the worst cramp I have ever experienced in my leg last night to the point it radiated down into my ankle and foot!

It's only happened once but I never want it to happen again... because ouch 🤣

Beanniebaby22 · 05/09/2022 08:24

@roobearbaby I get them too. They are horrendous. Actually screamed at my partner when he tried to massage the muscle to make it stop. I will clearly be a delight in labour 😂 lol.

I’ve worked out it only happens when my legs get cold (when I’m sleeping with the window open and covers off me and a fan blowing because it’s so bloody stuffy).

It’s a bit of a catch 22. Feel lovely and cool and get leg cramps from cold muscles or keep the draft off my legs and feel all warm and sweaty 😩 the joys of pregnancy!
Sorry that’s not much help lol.

Elle1709 · 05/09/2022 08:59

@roobearbaby I almost get them most nights but I have managed to stop every one by immediately flexing my foot so my toes point up to the ceiling, this normally stops it straight away but I don't think it works once the cramp is established. Hope this helps!

roobearbaby · 05/09/2022 09:59

Thanks both. Il keep an eye on it and see if I can work out the trigger. Or hope it is a one off haha.

roobearbaby · 05/09/2022 10:01

@beanniebaby22 I too screamed at my husband to get the f* off me when he tried to massage it to help. He said "I'm in a lose lose situation when you are in labour aren't I?" 🤣🤣🤣. Yes, yes you are

greenerfingers · 05/09/2022 10:05

I think it's to do with potassium deficiency, so bananas would be a good call if you can have them. I've been getting them since 5 months. They have eased up though from me elevating my legs and trying to rest and eat well

NotAdultingToday · 05/09/2022 14:24

Welcome @SimonaDM 😊 would you like me to add you to the due date list?

I have heard bananas are good for cramps too and my pregnancy app recommended quickly pushing you heel down to the ground? No idea if that would be any good!

I had my 28 week scan on Saturday, he is all good and healthy, right in the middle so not too big and not too small so growing fine. He has a big tummy though! It was good to see him as i had been worried because i had felt so rubbish with covid!

I had my boots delivery today of the baby stuff i had ordered 😁 i now have two 100L boxes of bits and bobs going (alot of it left over from ds1) i have also started putting stuff in the changing bag (not packed my hospital bag yet though 😂)

I’ve been having cramps in middle of the night too! And also heard the banana trick so have been eating more of them and so far so good, could be coincidence tho.

Is anyone going to the Manchester baby and toddler show? Emma’s diary usually have a code for tickets but I’ve not bothered to sign up for a pack this pregnancy, wondered if anyone had a code by any chance please?

Kaykiscout · 05/09/2022 17:09

@TFMinx can I ask what your early and current readings are for iron levels? Surely you've still got a couple of months to let the tablets do their job!

TFMinx · 05/09/2022 18:06

@Kaykiscout I've been on iron for around 6 weeks now. In that time they've gone from 100 to 107, so although it's improving, it's not going as quickly as they'd like. I'm so wiped out with exhaustion that I'm willing to try anything to be honest

Kaykiscout · 05/09/2022 18:49

@TFMinx I've not even had my b12 mentioned so no idea what is has about it being low 🙈 I think I'm going to get some spatone sachets from Amazon for iron just for the little boost

TFMinx · 05/09/2022 18:53

I don't think it's mentioned unless it's low really

Dontbeaneejit · 05/09/2022 19:21

Have they told you your ferratin levels? I'm currently in labour triage being monitored for blood pressure baby movements and because my iron levels have halved since my last blood test. I can hardly catch my breath at times and keep passing out. It's my reserves that are super low though. A few points away from needing a transfusion and the results hadn't been looked at for 3 weeks.

Dontbeaneejit · 05/09/2022 19:22

Hopefully they just send me home with a decent iron prescription! I don't want to stay in!

Ahh the leg cramps - I had it twice last night and I’m eating a banana a day already 😫

TFMinx · 05/09/2022 20:09

Apparently my ferritin levels are ok 🤷‍♀️. It seems they don't talk to each other as I had another midwife call me today to talk about next steps for me. I'm going in tomorrow, but won't have anything done until they're all agreed that it's the correct course of action

roobearbaby · 05/09/2022 22:12

Just to thank you all for your comments and help with cramp. I've had a pre bed banana....fingers crossed xxx

Elle1709 · 06/09/2022 06:41

@Dontbeaneejit what are you ferritin levels if you don't mind me asking? Mine were low at 4 and my iron was 102. I'm taking iron tablets now but I still feel really tired and out of breath. How low do the levels have to be to need a transfusion or Injections? I think they are going to recheck my levels on Thursday at my midwife appointment. Hopefully they have gone up! Hope your doing okay in the hospital
