@GeorgieEm my sister has organised my baby shower for when I’m 32 weeks pregnant. Think that’s a perfect time!

CurlyNo2 · 16/08/2022 18:18

I never had one with my son and I don’t think I’ll have one for this baby. I’m not the party/socialising type, so the thought of being centre of attention freaks me out.

Has anybody bought their pram yet? We’ve only just started buying items, even then I’m not that comfortable just yet getting stuff after our previous loss. I had a mothercare orb with my son and hated it. So will be buying a new one for this baby but just don’t know what to get. I’ve had my eye on the Ickle Babba stomp v3 but the reviews are very mixed.

Ccatalina · 16/08/2022 18:24

@CurlyNo2

I bought the ickle bubba stomp v3 in the sale for around 450. Its bloody brilliant! Researched for months and found this one to be the best for me that wasn't too much money. X

CurlyNo2 · 16/08/2022 18:27

Oh that’s fab to hear! I’ve seen one in Smyths with everything included for £449 and was really tempted.

Ccatalina · 16/08/2022 18:32

@CurlyNo2
Yes theres a huge summer sale on buggys at the moment mine came with all the bits and bobs! I think its worth it ☺️

Its a bit chunkier than it looks, BUT its so lightweight and easy to do x

sarahj878 · 16/08/2022 20:01

We’ve mainly bought clothes, blankets, etc so far but have got quite carried away with that to the extent I’ve had to start making a list of how many outfits have got for each age! Started decorating the nursery so bought a few bits for that too. We were going to replace pram but it’s in such good condition that it makes no sense to really. Has anyone shopped for anything in TK Maxx? I went in today and they’ve got some lovely bits, got a sleepyhead equivalent and they had lovely blankets and muslin cloths.

sarahj878 · 16/08/2022 20:02

Has anyone bought their cot and changing dresser yet? We need new one and looking for recommendations!

CurlyNo2 · 16/08/2022 20:35

I got a GroEgg that tells you the heat of the room and some massive muslin cloths from TK max the other day. They do have some great bargains for babies in there.

We went bonkers with our 1st and bought way too much so we’re being quite mindful of what we are going to need to buy to just get though the first month as they grow out of outfits so quickly.

We are on the process of buying a house (will be 38 weeks if all goes to plan when we get the keys) so not doing a nursery or anything. Feel so stressed just writing that down! I just hope baby hangs on in there until we get in the house.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 16/08/2022 23:29

Oh fingers crossed all the house stuff goes smoothly @CurlyNo2 !

I've got the cot all set up, bought a couple of cute outfits but that's about it, I'm pretty minimalist about baby accoutrement. Dh and I were discussing a pram the other day and I'm still undecided, I didn't tend to use it much and they take up SO much room. I decided to leave it unless I see an amazing bargain closer to the due date.

Aww baby showers, sounds lovely @GeorgieEm & @smiles39! My daughter (17) offered to throw me one but I would be very surprised if she gets around to actually organising anything... I had one when she was born and it was fun!

I bought the Tutti Bambini Roma ones... obsessed with them 😍

OtiMama · 16/08/2022 23:37

Hello, totally dropped off this and would love to rejoin. Baby due 19th November, currently working crazy hours and juggling my toddler too...Will try and keep up!

jordini · 17/08/2022 05:54

We went for the Mamas & Papas Atlas furniture set in grey. Comes with the drawers/changing table, cot and wardrobe. So far we’ve only built the drawers but very impressed with the quality. It’s a lovely colour too.

Pram wise we picked the iCandy peach. Luckily my parents bought it as we would never be able to spend that much money! It comes with the car seat and base too which has taken the sting out the price a bit. So grateful to them!

What are you guys planning on using for the living room? I’m not sure I want a Moses basket as I’ve heard they out grow them really quickly.

greenerfingers · 17/08/2022 08:10

I went crazy with my first and didn't use a lot of things so this time I'm trying to be sensible and not roped into every cute thing I see Blush. We did use our Moses basket but he never touched his cot and it was expensive. He absolutely refused it. I'm going to play it by ear this time. More importantly we need to sort a new house out before baby arrives and it's getting so tight 🫠.

We got the mamas and papas pram set and I loved it. It was the off road one so I would usually go for long walks in nature and it was also suitable for roads too. Bit bulky but I really used it.

Two things I need this time are a newborn car seat and a new baby monitor. I might try the sleepyhead again this time (first never took to it at all).

Went for my 25 week scan and baby is now transverse. Explains the extra tightening and heaviness I've been feeling all of a sudden.

NotAdultingToday · 17/08/2022 15:20

@CurlyNo2 😂😂 the joys of pregnancy/married life. Husband just groaned when i said id need his help next time 😂😂

I dont think ill have a baby shower, i didnt with my first, i hate being centre of attention!

We have actually choosen our pram and was going to get it yesterday but decided to get the next to me cot instead. We have worked out how many pay days we have left and have a plan to buy one big thing a month. So we will get the pram next month i think. Changing table wise there is a basic on in ikea im going to get had it with no1 and loved it plus doesnt take up much room

@OtiMama shall i add you on to the list?

@jordini it depends how much space you had, we used a travel cot and then used it as a play pen when he grew put of naps. I think thats what im going to do again

Hi all. I don't think I need much as we kept stuff from our first. I had a growth scan yesterday, all fine, very average measuments of size and fluid. They do lots of Doppler now, listened to the heat beat in the brain and umbilical cord. Sonographer and obstetrician said everything was fine and that sonographer said the heat beat shape is just what they want to see. However, it seemed to take a while on the brain and it came out in the 9th percentile for pi. My guess is 5th or below would be concern, but I actually have no idea what this means. I'm getting another scan in 4 weeks but have to wait for the letter.

TFMinx · 17/08/2022 18:55

Hi all, I've just entered the third trimester and it feels like the end is kind of in sight. I've got two weeks of summer hols left then seven weeks before the half term, then that'll be me on mat leave Grin.

We're getting baby clothes out of the loft week after next as DS is at grandparents, so perfect opportunity to sort through those before school restarts. We've luckily saved most things from DS so don't need much (maybe because I'm a prepper/hoarder?)

Hope everyone's well

CurlyNo2 · 17/08/2022 22:18

I’m suffering really bad tonight, got a multitude of things going on.

Rib pain on my left - like a burning, bruised muscle, heartburn, restless legs, I’m hot! I’m in for a bad night I can just feel it!

OtiMama · 18/08/2022 03:42

@NotAdultingToday yes please!

I'm awake as my toddler woke up and as always happens he went back to sleep and I'm uncomfortable and can't!

@CurlyNo2 hope you are feeling more comfortable soon, its so horrible isn't it.

We have everything from my son, so don't really have much to get, which is good as I haven't started thinking about any of it. I laugh now as this time with my son I probably had a whole nursery, wardrobe of clothes etc. ready and waiting. Just haven't had the time yet, my work is so busy so I doubt I will plan much until at least 30 weeks.

@jordini For me personally I didn't bother with a moses basket downstairs, we used the pram bassinet, they grow out of it so fast it felt like we got more value for money. The one we have is suitable for overnight sleeping too if needed.

Kaykiscout · 18/08/2022 09:19

Hi! I'm new here! Is there a November babies Facebook group? I can't cope with the ads or navigation on forum threads on here 🙈

I'm due November 10th with my second. Hospital backdated at the growth scan but given that it's scientifically impossible since I was on my period and baby can come anywhere in a roughly 5 week window I'm currently not that fixated on the date. Come November I know any days over that will feel awful as I'll be so uncomfortable though 😅

rickandmorts · 18/08/2022 10:38

CurlyNo2 · 16/08/2022 12:15

I’ve already started asking my husband to trim my toenails 🤣 and my lady garden is wild at the minute! 🙈

I went at mine with DPs beard shaver the other day and couldn't really see what I was doing, let's just say there was blood and the results weren't pretty 😂

Anyway nice to catch up on how everyone else is doing! I'm due right at the end of November so super jealous of everyone entering third trimester, I'm still firmly in 2nd. Fed up of being pregnant now and got another 15 weeks to go 😭. Been really struggling with sciatica to the point some days I can't even walk and it's been affecting my sleep too so will be glad when it's all over.

And my friends are planning a baby shower much to my dismay, I'm not a baby shower person 🙈 it'll be in October so I'll be around 32 weeks x

greenerfingers · 18/08/2022 11:15

@CurlyNo2 I'm exactly the same with the pain. But my rib pain is travelling to my back now. Wonder if your baby is transverse too. Going to try crawling on all 4s and encourage baby to go head down and give me some space.

There there @rickandmorts I'm firmly stuck with 15 weeks to go too. The end does not seem in sight EnvyBrew. I'm high risk for premature delivery so everyday feels like a lifetime. Think if I didn't have such a stressful pregnancy with my first I wouldn't constantly be rushing along the pregnancy and trying to get to big milestones (28, 32, 36 weeks), and then finally 37 when I ditch my stitch.

CurlyNo2 · 18/08/2022 11:36

I have officially 14+1 weeks to go! I’m 26 weeks today. I’ve opted for a meet in the middle job regarding delivery. My due date is 24 Nov but I have a c-section booked in for 25 Nov, so I know I won’t go any further than this date. But if I go into labour before then, I’ll be given a natural delivery. This is due to a very traumatic birth with my son that resulted in a birth injury (thankfully sorted itself out at 18 months).

Beanniebaby22 · 18/08/2022 17:19

How is everyone doing? 😊 I have my glucose tolerance test tomorrow 🤢 not looking forward to it one bit! Has anyone else done it before?

Dontbeaneejit · 18/08/2022 17:23

I had mine a few weeks ago. It wasn't that bad tbh. I think the drink has become more tolerable. I felt rough but then it was 40° that day and I wasn't allowed to eat normally until afterwards etc. I'd really love to be able to sneeze without weeing ha. Anyone else struggling with breathlessness? I'm also incredibly dizzy and light headed. I fainted at the weekend which I never ever do and again this morning in the kitchen. I had my 28 week appointment this week and my blood pressure is really low but they seem to think this is a good thing even though I feel like I'm going to pass out every time I stand up. I'm back at work after the summer in two weeks and really worried about randomly fainting in class or something. Not sure what else I can do about it.... 😕

CurlyNo2 · 18/08/2022 18:05

Does everybody have to take the GTT test? I don’t recall having to have it with my son 6 years ago?

Yes, im really breathless. I feel so exhausted too, just simple tasks are making me feel drained. Simply climbing the stairs and i’m ready for a lie down.
