Hopefully this will work! It's the list from the start of thread 12 so doesn't factor in name changes or newbies

Ooh here we are! Thanks @CurryandSnuggle

Congratulations to everyone who has had their baby! My due date is Monday and I'm hoping that mine will choose to make his appearance soon Smile

CurryandSnuggle · 11/06/2022 17:12

Thanks @GrowBabyGrow 🥰

@ChildOfFriday good luck! I went into labour on my due date (although I labour slow so she was born 2 days later!)

Good luck everyone still waiting!! What a journey we have all been through together. 🥰🥰

Lostintranslatio · 11/06/2022 17:20

Hello!! I will be induced for sure but still can't tell me when. Hopefully they won't let me pass next week 🤞🤞🤞

EarlGreywithLemon · 11/06/2022 17:21

Thank you so much @CurryandSnuggle and @GrowBabyGrow for the thread and tag.

Day 5 after the c section today and the midwife came round and removed the beaded stitch. I was a bit nervous, but actually it was a big relief. She said the stitching was really tight and must have hurt - it really was by that point! Lovely to have it off.

PleaseSendNoodles · 11/06/2022 17:57

Congratulations everyone who’s met their baby! 💕 and good luck to those waiting. Time is really flying now I have my girl at home.

@EarlGreywithLemon that sounds really painful! I don’t even know what the beaded stitch is though? Don’t think I got one?!

EarlGreywithLemon · 11/06/2022 18:21

@PleaseSendNoodles a lot of C sections in the UK are stitched up with one long continuous stitch, with one little bead at each end. It means it can be pulled out pretty painlessly and quickly in one go. Problem was, my stitches were a bit tight, so the beads were digging in. Did you have dissolvable stitches for yours?

PleaseSendNoodles · 11/06/2022 18:29

@EarlGreywithLemon oh wow! I had no idea. That does sound uncomfortable if it’s tight though! Yes, I have dissolvable stitches and steri strips on top…
which are still there 3 weeks later. I’m not picking them off though. Figure it’s best to leave them.

Anyone else with a C-section - how have you found the pain? Mine has been fine with regular ibuprofen but my poor friend who had hers a few days after me has been in agony.

rathernotshare · 11/06/2022 18:29

Thank you for the tag! Very jealous of all those meeting their babies - mine is 4 days late and counting!

EarlGreywithLemon · 11/06/2022 18:50

@PleaseSendNoodles the first 48 hours were pretty sore for me, so I had the full cocktail of painkillers - oramorph, Dihydrocodeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen. I’m still on the dihydrocodeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen now. But I’m not very good with pain! I was on exactly the same stuff for my third degree tear and episiotomy last time. This time though they took me seriously when I said I have chronic constipation and prescribed me tablets as well as lactulose. So it hasn’t been a problem this time, touch wood!

Letsbekindplease · 11/06/2022 18:50

@rathernotshare 3 days late here. So I feel you. I actually cried a little today because my anxiety is terrible.

can anyone recommend a spicy curry? Apart from dates it’s the only thing I haven’t had and I’m willing to try anything. Not great with spice but DP said to order my usual and a hot curry and if I can’t stomach it, he will eat it. Bless lol.

PleaseSendNoodles · 11/06/2022 19:42

Aww @Letsbekindplease and @rathernotshare I hope you don’t have to wait too much longer! I love spicy and always have a vindaloo! But I don’t know how likely it is to work. Let us know!

@EarlGreywithLemon Im glad you’re getting the pain relief you need. At my hospital, they give everyone twice-daily stool softeners as standard and I’m so grateful. I’m still taking them religiously 3 weeks on!

beansprout55 · 11/06/2022 19:56

I still have 15 days to go until D day. And 13 days left of work! 😢
If I KNEW curries and sex worked i would eat that and do the deed morning, afternoon and night. I'm desperate to have this baby in my arms now. Especially after seeing all your beautiful little ones xxx

GrowBabyGrow · 11/06/2022 21:16

@beansprout55 I'm desperate for baby to be here too! Feeling very heavy and ready to meet her.

I've avoided spicy food this trimester (even though I love it) because it was making my heartburn worse but tonight I had a very spicy curry just to see if that does anything. Probably nothing although midwife did say that spicy food can help move baby further down because it aggravates your bowels 😂

beansprout55 · 11/06/2022 21:34

@GrowBabyGrow Ooooo so there is SOME science behind it. I haven't actually googled it properly but I will! When are you due?xx

Saying that, I had a really spicy fish curry last night and boy oh boy the intense pressure/pressing on my cervix is on another level tonight. It's like he's pushing to come out! Really painful. So maybe that has happened!!x

@PleaseSendNoodles I had c section nearly 2 weeks ago, had a Pico dressing which came off on day 7. I found The pain was really bad day 3 (mainly because hospital wasn't good at keeping on top of pain relief and it took a day of being at home and religiously taking pain relief before I felt better) but haven't needed to take any pain relief for the last couple of days and feel pretty much back to normal now - recovery has been a lot quicker this time compared to my EMCS last time.

firsttimemomma93 · 11/06/2022 21:50

@beansprout55 oh my days how are you still working! Fair play to you! I'm 14 days till due date and stopped working at 35 weeks couldn't manage anymore! 😂

Prema112 · 11/06/2022 21:54

Thanks for the new thread @CurryandSnuggle & the add @GrowBabyGrow!

GrowBabyGrow · 11/06/2022 22:28

@beansprout55 not due until the 28th but baby wasn't very engaged last appt so trying to get her to wiggle further down. The spicy food definitely made her move around! And so far heartburn hasn't been aggravated so hoping that spice might be back on the menu 🤞 I'm so impressed you are still working, I finished this week and I was on my last legs

Jammymare · 12/06/2022 06:06

Thanks for the tag, sorry have been awol but congratulations for all the new arrivals. 3 days overdue and so uncomfortable and fed up. Had a bloody show on Friday and irregular but very painful cramps the last two nights that wake me up but fizzle out by morning. Curries have done nothing for me.

MsBubbles85 · 12/06/2022 09:41

Thanks for the tag!
I'm due on the 30th and baby doesn't seem to be engaged yet. I'm still working until the 24th so at least that keeps entertained and not overthinking about the birth!

Letsbekindplease · 12/06/2022 09:41

I doubt the curry will do anything for me either but I feel like I need to try absolutely everything haha. Wondering if a madras is spicy enough.

im getting so impatient now. Every day and twinge I think “is this it”. I have another sweep booked in Thursday so I’m hoping to go before then.

Junebaby22 · 12/06/2022 12:48

Hi ladies. I haven't posted, but have been following the threads. Particularly over the past couple of weeks, looking for your signs and experiences of early labour praying that I could be in the same position. I'm 37+4, due on 28th June with baby number 1 and feeling very fed up. Trapped almost, due to PGP, swelling (hands, feet and today face) and increasing bloody weight gain.

I gave up working at 30 weeks and I'm in awe of ladies who are able to work closer to due date.

I was in complete fairy land about pregnancy. I was so unprepared for this experience of sharing my body our baby boy and how emotionally taxing it is.

I am grateful to be blessed with him and just want to hold him like TODAY!
