@STom2 thanks, good to be back. And I feel exactly the same as you about it being nice to have some normality this time - I am so pleased my partner gets to be at the scans again. Last time he attended a scan was a bad one, so I'm tentatively hopeful for a more positive experience this time.

@Preseli welcome and I'm so sorry to hear about the losses you've experienced. You're so right that 'miscarriage' doesn't capture the experience there. It's so clinical. Welcome here and gentle congratulations.

@RedElleJ tentative congrats on the bleeding getting better. Lovely news.

@Rubes1234 congratulations on your positive scan! So happy for you. And so true about the relief being temporary. May it last as long as possible!

@Ally256 fingers crossed for us in two weeks!

Skylark1990 · 02/08/2022 20:39

Congrats on the scan @Rubes1234 ! 💗💗💗 So happy for you. Hope the "high risk" label doesn't add too much stress . When is your next scan?

@Preseli welcome to the group and so sorry to hear about your losses. That must have been so traumatic. I hope you find some comfort here. Please do come to us whenever you're feeling worried and anxious 🌈💐 I hope we all get our rainbows too!

@Furbabymum15 really glad to hear the pregnancy is progressing that just be such a wonderful relief! Keep us updated

@Hagster sorry to hear you've had a bad few weeks but glad things feel better now. Good to come back and join in for sure, doesn't matter how long the pause is 😘

@RedElleJ hope you're having a good day and like others have said, happy for you everything is progressing and the bleeding has stopped 😘🤞👌xxx

Hope everyone else is doing well today! We went for a swim in the river after work which was lovely... Doing another FRER tomorrow after the one I did Sunday and really hoping for progression 🤞🤞

MooBugz · 03/08/2022 03:03

@Preseli welcome and sorry to hear about your later loss I would say that's a stillbirth over a mc too how awful. I hope this time is different for you and understand the scans may not give you the reassurance till later but great that your being looked after.

@Rubes1234 @Furbabymum15 that's great news on the scans 👏 another hurdle overcome long May they continue!

I feel so sick at the thought of my scan in the morning, even though my private 8 & 10 week scans were fine I have so much anxiety and keep waking at this stupid time and can't get back to sleep and when I do I dream about it 😵‍💫

Hope this feeling will ease soon surely can't always be this way I need to get a grip and be more grateful less stressful 🥺

Best of luck this morning @MooBugz not long left to wait now.

My scan went well yesterday, I had a little wriggler too and got lots of waves, it was really nice to see. She pressed so darn hard though that I've been a bit uncomfortable since. Anyone else had that?

MooBugz · 03/08/2022 07:07

Morning @madeinthe80z and thanks for the luck I need it 🥺

I've had that in previous pregnancies where it's felt almost bruised for the day after the scan but it should subside. They can be a bit rough sometimes the sonographers X

STom2 · 03/08/2022 07:15

@Rubes1234 and @madeinthe80z Congrats on the great scans yesterday! @madeinthe80z I can't recall having the discomfort after a scan in particular, but I wouldn't worry about it having an impact on the LO. With my DS he was in breach position in the final weeks and 2 different doctors tried to move him around by pressing quite hard on my bump. And I can honestly say that was INCREDIBLY painful. But didn't bother DS. They're so cushioned in there.

@skylark1990 best of luck with the FRER today!

@moobugz Good luck with the 12 week scan today. Lots of scans coming through now it's great!

Skylark1990 · 03/08/2022 10:18

Wonderful news @madeinthe80z ! I had a bit of pain after my 12 week scan with DD, so I know what you mean. I was a bit worried but I think it's quite common. If you're really sore tho, you can definitely ask they are more gentle next time!

@MooBugz good luck for today!! I'm sure it will be absolutely fine 🥰🌈💐 let us know how it goes xx

@STom2 thank you! Nice strong line today. So I called the epau and they've booked me for a scan when I'll be about 6+5. It's on 22 August. So that's good. Just hope I make it that far! 🤞💗

Morning! 11+6 all looking beautiful I saw my actual baby shaped baby today! I cried a lot and so much relief was felt seeing that.

I feel like I can relax now. I can't believe how much I was stressed for today even just in the waiting room I could feel the nerves and something was going to come out me one end or the other 🤣

Rubes1234 · 03/08/2022 11:33

Ah more great news this morning!

@madeinthe80z so made up for you! Did you have the little cry of relief seeing them move? I couldn’t believe how active it was. Crazy!! I had some soreness after my 9+5 week scan where she pressed really hard but it went after about 1-2 days. Stressed me out too thinking would it do anything until yesterday to be honest when we seen it again!

@MooBugz Good luck for this morning! We have everything crossed for you here! Can’t wait to hear back from you! I fully feel you on the anxiety I made myself physically sick with the worry yesterday, just try to breathe and calm yourself when you can or find distractions until your at your scan. Easier said than done we all know but fingers crossed for you here. Xx

@Skylark1990 Such good news on your progression and appointment booked with the Epau. I’m so happy your back and absolutely thrilled for you and the family! Fingers crossed for you it’s a little sticky one!
I think my next appointment is with the consultant in 2 weeks then they will decide if I’m for more scans based on the midwifes judgement. It should be coming through by letter this week. I’m honestly unsure how I feel about it all. They’ve mostly gone on family history and at the moment my bp and general health are good. I appreciate they are concerned and looking after me but also don’t want to have to take aspirin if I don’t need to you know. Trying to do a bit of reading up on it to see risks etc. Has anyone here had to take it for anything through pregnancy? Sorry to be intrusive!

@Hagster hahah I know. I woke this morning and first thought was I wonder if it’s ok today. So I got about 12 hours worth of no anxiety about it. 😂 what date is your next Scan again?

@STom2 thanks so much. You are a bunch of amazing ladies. I honestly feel so lucky to have you all who know exactly how each other feels. It almost feels quite special doesn’t it.

Is anyone else starting to feel their sickness subside a little?

LittleLottle · 03/08/2022 12:18

Everyone's stories of good scans are making me well up!!

@MooBugz I'm already nervous for the scan on Saturday and I know the waiting room 'should I dash to the toilet' nerves too well!!

That's so amazing @Furbabymum15 glad baby is looking good now.

Great lines @Skylark1990

Furbabymum15 · 03/08/2022 12:37

Thankyou all so much for the well wishes on my scan..... I'm still so anxious about measuring behind and had a bit more bleeding last night, its a roller-coaster of a journey.

@RedElleJ lovely to see your Scan went so well bleeding is such an awful trigger. I've had bleeding on and off so I'm hoping all will be OK for me too. Do you mind me asking how heavy your bleeding was?

STom2 · 03/08/2022 13:43

@Rubes1234 I think mine is starting to subside a little. Praise be! I'm 12+4 today. Still getting mild waves every so often during the day. But I've felt in the last couple of days I've been able to get on with my day and be a little more productive than I have been in weeks!!!!

Has anyone else been getting hormonal acne? My skin was really clear until a couple of days ago (likely due to the pregnancy), but in the last couple of days I've started to get multiple spots.

OceanbreezeSun · 03/08/2022 14:38

@Skylark1990
I’m glad it wasn’t too stressful for you both when you dropped the feed in the morning - I agree that it was probably the easier one to drop as opposed to the night one. Well done, I know it’s not easy. I used to always feel abit emotional when I thought about stopping. I still get abit sad when I see how peaceful dd is, I love our little cuddles, but as she appears to be weaning herself, I think it’s the right time.
Only you know when the time is right. Well done for bf this long, happy breastfeeding week too!

Good luck today @MooBugz ❤️

congratulations @Rubes1234 on the lovely scan. I know it must feel every being classed as higher risk, but you will be in good hands and the extra checks and scans will be reassuring.

@Preseli I’m so sorry about your previous losses. Yes, the term miscarriage is not always suitable, especially for a late term loss❤️
I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and hope you can enjoy some of it without being too anxious (almost impossible , I know)

STom2 · 03/08/2022 16:05

@Skylark1990 and @OceanbreezeSun I started weaning DS when he was 14 months and did it gradually over a couple of months. But the first feed I dropped was that morning one. I found offering him a banana while I got his breakfast ready worked very well as a distraction (particular if DH was getting him up to let me have a lie in). He's now 21 months and still obsessed with that banana first thing. Asks for it before he's even out of the cot. We've had a couple of mornings where we have unknowingly run out of bananas and offering an alternative has not sufficed. Meltdown central. Like the world is ending 😆. After the morning feed all that was left was the pre naptime and pre bedtime one. The bedtime one actually went next but almost by accident. I had to attend an appointment and wouldn't be there to do bedtime. I arrived back and DH had successfully got him to bed, with zero complaint. We tried the next couple of nights to let DH put him to bed instead and again zero issue. We reckoned it was an "out of sight out of mind" thing. Ie when I wasn't there he wasn't looking for it. So five months on, DH still does every bedtime routine and it's marvelous lol. I am a SAHM though so I am with him all day. With the pre nap, again, I just didn't offer it one day and it was okay. I think like your bubs they probably reach a stage themselves when they're finished. I don't miss the breastfeeding at all TBH. But that's mainly as DS is still cuddled to sleep. By me at naptimes and DH at bedtime. Or if he wakes in the night. So still getting all those peaceful cuddles in at the moment! My next hurdle will be working out how to do it when there's a big bump in the way 😆.

RedElleJ · 03/08/2022 17:27

Hi @Furbabymum15 - I really do empathise…bleeding is just another stress on top of it all. hopefully yours eases too 🤞🏻

I started with brown bleeding when I wiped for a few days, just enough to spot on my underwear too. Then as the days progressed I had to wear a panty liner and the brown blood was much more substantial when I wiped. Then I had a bright red bleed for 2 days which was very noticeable when I wiped…never touched my underwear but I was so paranoid I was going to loo so often I don’t think I gave it enough chance too. Back to light brown blood for another few days after that, then a small red bleed, followed by more brown bleeding. Then it started to ease from there really. Overall, I would say I bled consistently for 2 weeks and then spotted on and off for another week…since week 9 touch wood I’ve been relatively okay.

Congrats @MooBugz amazing news ☺️ Glad you felt immediate relief too - hope you are celebrating tonight 🎉

Furbabymum15 · 03/08/2022 18:44

@RedElleJ so worrying... Mines mostly been brown discharge some occasional pink streaks I was so taken back when thay said there was a baby and heart beat on Monday and being 2 wks behind is a worry. Mine has been goin on for around 10 days they're scanning me on friday and I hope and pray all is still good..... U give me hope xx

Skylark1990 · 04/08/2022 08:59

@OceanbreezeSun that all sounds really good. Hope it continues being quite smooth for you and she naturally stops wanting it soon! Is it sore ATM? In the last pregnancy my nipples were so sore but this time they aren't. It's odd.

@STom2 thank you for sharing your experience! So good to hear how others did it. We have always supported to sleep too, cuddled or fed or rocked. She has a floor bed so usually I feed her then roll away (ninja roll for the win!) Or we cuddle her to sleep on there and then gently take arm away haha it can be tricky. My DP can put her to sleep but if I'm in the house she always wants me / milk.

Any other tips you have I would welcome Because I'm actually finding it quite hard - I thought it had gone ok to drop the morning feed but that same morning she took me back into her room, pulled the curtains, asked me to put on her rain sounds light, and lay on bed saying "bedtime" and "milkies" 😭 so she had absorbed what I said about how we'd have it at bedtime and she was trying to create it 😭 it was so hard to be like no baby, but in the end she was ok. But then on my day off yesterday I wasn't able to not feed her for her nap she was too upset. I fed her at bedtime too but she didn't fall asleep so then we were up till 10pm 🤦‍♀️ so I think the change in routine is throwing her. She had a later nap than usually yesterday too which didn't help.

Anyway for now we are sticking with dropping the morning feed. I figure even if I feed her for her nap that's only max 3 times a week as she's at nursery the other days, and then I'll do bedtime. I kinda hope my milk dries up soon so it just means she loses interest. It just breaks my heart when she gets all happy about having milk and I say no and she's sad 😞 but hopefully it's a relatively quick adjustment and I am still feeding her just less. So need to remember that! Sigh.

MooBugz · 04/08/2022 13:59

Morning all how are we doing?

I had a busy day today at work and also found out a work colleague is one day apart from me so we'll both be off for may leave at the same time exciting times!

I've been having little tummy ache since last nice little cramping which bin sure is totally normal but find myself second guessing everything. I put it down to stretching and my scan was only yday so I know baby is fine in there just forgot what's normal and what's not!

Hi all! Loads to catch up on- welcome @Preseli and congratulations @MooBugz !

My 12 wk scan is next week on Wednesday- hubster has the day off to join me. Nausea is easier g but still getting g great waves of it in the evening. Still tired all the time but I'm starting to think that's just me lol

I know it's really early but is anyone else on their second starting to show? I feel I already look 5 months gone.
Probably just pizza.

STom2 · 04/08/2022 15:42

@gamergirl84 ME!!!! It's insane. We're abroad for a wedding this weekend and I can't hide it. DH has even said a couple times to me "Woah you look pregnant!" I find it's more obvious as the day goes on. I recall this with DS. Ie bump would go down in the morning and by the evening it was back to full bloat. Obvs eating etc helped this along!!

RedElleJ · 05/08/2022 10:53

Hi Ladies,

Hope we are all well - I've been feeling particularly tired this week but have had some tummy pain similar to you @MooBugz - trying not to look into it as it has gone now but doing the obligatory boob check every 5 mins again!

I have been a bit slow on asking the GP for my next progesterone prescription - I was scared to put the order in early in case i jinxed things. I put an e-consult in yesterday but they never got back in touch and I have just put another one in now, in the hope that someone picks it up before the weekend.

I will run out on Sunday and I don't know what to do - do you think I could call 111 and they would get me a prescription?

Hagster · 05/08/2022 12:03

@RedElleJ maybe try ringing the practice and see if they can do anything to speed it up? Appreciate it depends on the practice but I find speaking to a human can help.

@Gamergirl84 yes, I definitely think I already look about 20 weeks. And as I said to my doubtful husband, "it's not just fat because it's solid" (squidges tummy to demonstrate). Case closed your honour!

Sorry to hear about the cramping @MooBugz but glad you're feeling at least a bit reassured with the recent scan.

Hope you're all doing ok, I'll be 12 weeks on Sunday which I'm tentatively excited about.

Skylark1990 · 05/08/2022 13:43

Hey @RedElleJ I would ring your local epau and get them to put through a prescription so you can pick it up at the hospital pharmacy asap, or at least try that so that you're following two avenues! Good idea to call the doctor too and explain the urgency.

MooBugz · 05/08/2022 13:48

@RedElleJ I think my cramping ended up being due to trapped wind lol I was feeling very bloated and full feeling wouldn't subside but thankfully all gone now had a good few farts and all was good 🤣 the glamour eh?!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I've started telling people about the pregnancy now and feeling good about things so finally starting to enjoy the pregnancy although don't know if I'll ever fully shout about it or wait till next routine scan!

So far so good though ladies your all doing great and have all been great thanks for joining me in the ride so far 😆❤️
