Urgh the nausea. The nausea. I'm so tired of it!! Mine has actually turned to gagging and retching half the day as well. Cannot wait for it to sod off. (Sorry for moaning 😒)

@STom2 is the 2 week guidance not about the measurement of growth being a more accurate reflection and not worrying you? I thought I read that somewhere when booking a private one once but might be wrong!

JoKB · 26/07/2022 20:19

After feeling really sick for weeks 7 and 8, I have lost the nausea completely and can eat lots of foods again this week - I’m so scared 😔

STom2 · 26/07/2022 21:10

@JoKB I wouldn't read too much into fluctuating feelings of nausea. I know we are all guilty of doing this however. From my own experience, my nausea definitely was up and down. I went from getting sick almost daily to little to no nausea between week 9 and 10. Then back to throwing up almost daily after several days of not.

MooBugz · 26/07/2022 21:29

Hey @STom2 I'm good! First day back at work and it went great, had a disastrous holiday so it was good to get back to some organised workload wherein was in control!

@madeinthe80z @JoKB my nausea was really bad around week 8 then calmed down and the past day or so it has been ramped up again to the point I can't eat anything without the nausea feeling five mins later 🥴

Hope everyone is doing well. Got my scan next Wednesday, when is everyone else's? Scan season is coming for all of us so good to know when everyone is!

JoKB · 26/07/2022 21:33

@MooBugz @STom2 thanks!! That’s really reassuring, with my son I don’t remember any gaps in the sickness, just constant nausea from 7-15/16 weeks, so it really set me off worrying!
many 12 weeks scan is 3 weeks tomorrow (not that I’m counting 🙄😂) on the 17th - I would pay sooooo dearly for a fast forward button!!

MooBugz · 26/07/2022 22:37

Aww @JoKB I hope it goes in quick for you! I'm looking forward to it the last two private scans were more like a blob and then a more distinctive blob so it'll be nice to see an actual baby shape in the next one 😂🤞🏼

I never had stop and start nausea with my other kids either it was pretty much all or nothing for the full 12 weeks then heartburn with a vengeance in the final trimester so waiting for that joyous time again!

Hi ladies,

wondering if anyone can provide some reassurance. I had to order different pregnancy vitamins as my normal ones were out of stock. I’ve just realised (a week into taking them) that I’ve only been taking a half dose as I should have been taking 2 tablets per day, not one.

Having a slight freak out that I’ve really messed up - has anyone ever forgotten to take theirs or messed up the doseage before? Should I call my GP? Midwives aren’t contactable until you are 20 weeks where I live

madeinthe80z · 27/07/2022 08:20

@RedElleJ I really wouldn't worry. I am on 5mg folic acid tablets due to my ectopic last year and forget to take them all the time! There is folic acid in other foods as well like cereal and bread so don't worry, and it's only been a week so you can correct it now xx

RedElleJ · 27/07/2022 08:53

Thanks @madeinthe80z - there always seems to be something that triggers a worry. I didn't realise you go on such a low dose after an ectopic, why is that?

Think I'm just having a stressy week - I have had no waves of nausea and my boobs are much less tender...have a scan on Monday though so not to wait for an update on things.

Gamergirl84 · 27/07/2022 09:36

@MooBugz my 12 week scan is on the 11th, booking appointment 1st August.

My scans have all been blobs too! I have them on the fridge buy so far there's no distinguishing features.
At the 10 wk scan the songographer made a point of saying how much the baba was jiggling about.... is that normal?

Nausea seems to have lessened, hopefully this is the sign that the placenta is taking over and things might get back to normal 😉

STom2 · 27/07/2022 13:19

I think my nausea has lessened also. 10+5 today. Although I was having same thought all yesterday and then had to pause dinner halfway through to violently throw up. So who knows. I'm running on fumes today. DS was awake most of the night inexplicably. Just awake and in party mode. I finally got to sleep at 4.30am.

MooBugz · 27/07/2022 15:23

@Gamergirl84 the sonographer said the same to me at my 10week scan lol we did see one leg waving about but aside from that yea very much blob like.

@STom2 my nausea has lessened and isn't so much all day as it was before but more through the day at random points usually after I've eaten something

OP posts:
madeinthe80z · 27/07/2022 16:36

@RedElleJ it's actually a high dose. Over the counter folic acid is 400mg and I am on 5g because when I had the ectopic last year, they treated me with a drug called methotrexate which basically strips your system of folic acid. So I have been on 5mg daily since December x

OceanbreezeSun · 27/07/2022 19:47

Hi all,
I hope everyone is well?
Just catching up.

I have my first scan tomorrow, I’m 12 + 5 - needless to say, I am starting to get butterflies now. I’m quite good at putting things to the back of my mind, have tried not to worry but it’s making me nervous, incase it’s bad news. Just got to keep being hopeful.

Not much else to report - still having waves of nausea and boobs still look like boulders and feel sore 😩

Abit random, but can anyone recommend a mouthwash that doesn’t make you feel nauseous?
I use Listerine, the mild green one at the moment, but I hate the taste of it. Since being pregnant, it makes me feel sick and my mouth fills up with saliva for about half an hour afterwards.

Sending well wishes to everyone with scans coming up x

MooBugz · 27/07/2022 20:06

@OceanbreezeSun Good luck with the scan tomorrow and what a milestone ❤️ we're all coming to join you there soon!

Sorry can't help with mouthwash I feel that with the tooth brushing too can't stand the taste of it 😵‍💫

@Gamergirl84 my 12 week scan is the 11th of August too!

madeinthe80z · 27/07/2022 21:02

@oceanbreezesun I use alcohol free corsadyl and don't have a huge problem but I get the horrible taste and saliva thing with anything I eat, it's exhausting!

OceanbreezeSun · 28/07/2022 06:51

Thank you @MooBugz I hope we all have happy news to share ❤️
hope you had a lovely holiday too

@madeinthe80z Urgh me too!
I had to have a spit cup when I was expecting dd , it went everywhere with me, to work , to the supermarket. It was horrible.🤢
Its not as bad this time around but the horrible taste thing is worse. So many things I’ve stopped eating as they make it worse. Thanks for the mouthwash recommendation

STom2 · 28/07/2022 07:45

@OceanbreezeSun Best of luck with the scan today! Do let us know how it goes. Will be great to get the ball rolling on the positive milestone news in the group. Looking forward to many more great 12 week scans to come.

Rubes1234 · 28/07/2022 15:02

Aaaah good luck today @OceanbreezeSun

sorry I’ve been MIA. Is anyone else utterly knackered and cranky at the end of their workday 😂

STom2 · 28/07/2022 15:26

@Rubes1234 I don't even work (at home with a 20month old during the day), but I'm absolutely knackered and cranky by dinnertime! DH is ill at the moment and came home yesterday feeling pretty sorry for himself. But at that point I had nothing left to give. Found it difficult to be sympathetic which is unlike me. But after 12 hours with a toddler, exhaustion, nausea, and only 3 hours sleep night before I just wanted to go straight to bed when he got home.

madeinthe80z · 28/07/2022 15:31

@Oceanbreezesun hope everything has gone well today!

I've just got back from my midwife booking in appointment, got my 12 week scan on Tuesday.

I found I should have been taking a pregnancy multivitamin AS WELL as my 5mg folic acid...oops. she said I only needed to take it up till 12 weeks...so 5 days?!? But then I got confused, did she mean just the folic acid can stop and I should continue the multivitamin? I can't text her for that, she'll blacklist me from day one!!

nofaith · 28/07/2022 16:10

Hi all. I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant after a miscarriage at 17+5 earlier in the year. I’m finding it horribly difficult and everyone I speak to just seems so sure it’ll all work out for me this time. It’s so difficult and it doesn’t feel like people really understand. My 12 week scan was fine but so was my one last time so there’s just no relief yet and I’m finding it really scary. I’m trying to work and carry on as normal but I can’t think about anything else. I just saw this thread and hadn’t occurred to me that there could be a thread like this for those of us in this difficult situation. It’s nice to know I’m not alone, although I’m so sorry your going through this too. I’m hoping for all of our happy endings.

STom2 · 28/07/2022 16:29

@madeinthe80z I think different midwives/doctors have different opinions on the vitamins. I took a multivitamin throughout pregnancy with my DS. But I recall at my 12 week scan the sonographer told me I could stop (basically said if my diet was okay and our mothers never took them and we all turned out fine). But my midwife told me to just keep taking them and there was no harm in doing so. I think the most important one is folic acid in that first 12 weeks and I recall it's not needed after that point. But double check with your midwife. I think I asked mine last time as I had a panic that u was still taking folic acid and thought it might have had adverse effects. I didn't have a clue basically lol.

STom2 · 28/07/2022 16:34

@nofaith Welcome to the group, and I'm so sorry to hear about your later loss. That must have been truly devastating. You've stumbled upon a bunch of good listeners, with different experiences of loss. We're all with you on the constant anxiety so please feel free to have a rant here any time you feel overwhelmed. I totally understand not feeling relaxed after your 12 week scan. When pregnant with my DS (after a previous MMC), I genuinely don't think I relaxed fully until I'd actually delivered him!I just moved through different "milestones", barely daring to think I'd have a healthy baby at the end (despite it being a very straight forward unproblematic pregnancy). Just take it one step at a time. If you need more scans for reassurance then do so. And try to keep yourself as busy as you can to keep your mind off going down the anxiety rabbithole.
