Hey all, I hope you are all well ❤️ I've missed you all and so pleased to see such wonderful positive scans coming in 🌈 so sorry to those who have had bad news since my own bad news 😔💔 hope you're doing ok x

I am actually coming back briefly as have a quick question. I'm basically doing market research about progesterone 😅 if you are currently taking progesterone, when did you start taking it? From bfp or from 2/3/4dpo?

DH and I DTD on Sunday and I'm pretty sure I ovulated Wednesday so even tho we weren't actually TTC and had decided to wait for a bit, we weren't careful, and now ofc I see that it's firmly in fertile window that we DTD. If I am pregnant which ofc is a big if, I want to do all I can to support it..just not sure whether to take progesterone now on the off chance I , or to wait till bfp. I know that no one will have the exact answer but interested in what others did..

Send loads of love and luck to everyone for the next few months xxx

JoKB · 22/07/2022 21:38

Hi @Skylark1990, I’m glad you’re feeling up to DTD at least, even if ye weren’t technically trying
I take Duphaston, as my doctor in Dubai when I lived there put me on it - but I think Cyclogest is way more popular here!

Skylark1990 · 22/07/2022 22:33

Thanks @JoKB 💓 did you start taking it from bfp or before? And thank you, yes strangely we had a week where we DTD loads ... I guess the closeness was what we needed after everything

WonderWoop · 22/07/2022 23:03

Hi all
Popping into this thread as didn't realise there was one for after MC. I am 39, due #2 in Feb, I hope. Had 3 MC in total before and after DD. Given age, really hoping this sticks.

@RedElleJ your story has given me some hope as also experiencing bleeding. Had a private scan at 8w and all was well, including a little heartbeat. A day later had a large bleed (red), that was a week ago now and have had both brown and red spotting since.

I had bleeding at this stage in my pregnancy with DD so trying to stay calm. I haven't gone to EPU as figure there's little they can do. I have another scan booked for NIPT in a weeks time so trying to hold out until then (and basically just pray!!)

JoKB · 23/07/2022 04:08

@Skylark1990 you take it from ovulation for 10 days and then continue to if you are pregnant or otherwise stop so it lets your period come. If I was you, I would go into your doctor and explain the situation and that as progesterone is prescribed for recurrent miscarriages, that you would like to try it. Be assertive and don’t leave without a prescription!

that’s lovely that it brought you closer, I have an awful habit of pushing him away when things are not going well, like I feel flawed and embarrassed and almost defensive so I can’t let him in - not very nice!

@WonderWoop congrats! Sorry to hear about your bleeding - well done on being so patient! I hope the time goes fast for you - it sounds like a haematoma (not sure if I’ve spelled that correctly!) and hopefully nothing to worry about now that the blood is gone xx

LittleLottle · 23/07/2022 08:38

Thanks all for the reassurance about the symptoms, they have been coming back occasionally so I feel a bit more positive. Just wishing my life away until the scan in 2 weeks. Congrats everyone on the positive scans!

WonderWoop · 23/07/2022 17:13

Thank you very much @JoKB. Had my booking in appt with midwife today and she didn't seem concerned about the bleeding. She said very normal and likely implantation. I thought that was much earlier but she said something to do with the placenta. Here's hoping 🤞

RedElleJ · 23/07/2022 18:31

Evening everyone

How are we all holding up? My thesis is due next week but I need to get it done this week as work is a nightmare.

Congrats on all the amazing scans @jokb @rubes1234 @lilipa @lmcc88 @bel88 Such wonderful news :)

How are you doing @Hagster? I hope you are okay x

Glad my experience so far has given you some hope @WonderWoop - I have still been going crazy with it all, as I am sure you have but all I can do is hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I am sorry to hear about your previous losses and I really hope this is your sticky little squish x

Furbabymum15 · 23/07/2022 19:48

How is everyone doing..... I will be honest I am wishing the days away for my re scan on Monday I am preparing for the worst yet hoping for the best. I will be 7+2 so hoping a hb has developed..... I'm getting twice weekly hcg injections for recurrent miscarriage so my symptoms could just be coming from them. My boobs are really heavy and sore, lots of twinges on both sides, and TMI WARNING..... yellow discharge.

MooBugz · 24/07/2022 13:18

Hello all!

I just got back from Antalya early this morning and didn't have any anxious thoughts throughout the holiday but as soon as I slept this morning I had a scan dream as I had a scan booked for 1pm today, weird isn't it?!

Very very happy to say that scan went well and baby is measuring 10+4 according to LMP and 10+1/10+2 according to measurements which is consistent with my private scan two weeks ago and knowing that I ovulated later than average that they calculate.

Congrats to all the good news scans in my absence and sorry for those struggling, it really is an up and down journey. My nausea has been a lot better but ramped up a day or two ago. Had the holiday from hell but was all worth it and today has given me the boost to love life again.

Sending positive vibes to you all ❤️

@hagster How are you doing?

@moobugz Congrats on the positive scan! Into the final stretch now for the 12 week mark. 🙌

@furbabymum15 Best of luck with your re-scan today.

I'm 10+3 today. Have my booking in appointment this morning. Finally. Still no idea when the 12 week scan is but imagine that won't come through until I'm booked in. Symptom-wise my boobs only seem to have become sore in the last week. In the evening mainly. I was away all last week and my biggest struggle was the heat and car travel. As soon as I got back the nausea kicked back in again. So I guess this is a good sign. I've not had a scan since 6 weeks +5. Really revisiting the urge to scan again before 12 week one. Just have this constant MMC fear after having one before.

Lmcc88 · 25/07/2022 08:35

@Furbabymum15 will be thinking of you today!

MooBugz · 25/07/2022 08:36

Thank you @STom2 I got the reassurance I needed and even have told a few people yesterday so hopefully not gone and jinxed things!

When we get our booking appointment our scan appointment is made at the same time so must be done differently where you are? Hopefully you get your appointment confirmed at the booking appointment especially if your 10 weeks!

Almost there 🙊 slowly but surely we will make it to that milestone X

Lmcc88 · 25/07/2022 11:40

@Furbabymum15 I’m so sorry! If you need anything at all we are all here for you xxx

Franklin321 · 25/07/2022 12:33

Hi, can I join…on my 5th pregnancy in the past 2 years (3 miscarriages & son born dec 20)

This pregnancy follows straight after a loss last month so it’s a nerve wracking time. Currently 6+1 (based on miscarriage timing) and under the recurrent miscarriage clinic so have a scan booked at 8 weeks and then 10 weeks if all is well at the 8 week one!

When I think about the fact I’ve been pregnant 5 times it feels almost ridiculous but hoping this is the final one 🤞

Ive got 2 weeks and 2 days till my first scan so just counting down the days now

Gamergirl84 · 25/07/2022 13:51

@Furbabymum15 so sorry to hear this 😢
@Franklin321 welcome! Sorry to hear of upir previous losses- this first 12 weeks is super hard for all of us you're in the right place.

Well done @MooBugz ! Great news and sounds like perfect growth between scans.

I had my 10 wk scan today, we saw the heartbeat and baby jiggling about all on an external scan too! Measuring 9.4 which is just a day out from the 7wk measurements which is to be expected this early.

Booking appointment next week and then 12wk scan the week after that. Feeling a little more real now.
Still only told my mother and one good friend. Actually nervous about 'announcing ' it.

STom2 · 25/07/2022 14:56

@furbabymum15 I'm so sorry to hear this. It is very unfair. Please take some time to process the news and hopefully you get some answers. xx

@gamergirl84 congrats on your positive scan. A few of us seem to be around similar 10 week mark. Fingers crossed we all make it to the final 12 week hurdle quickly. Although I know for my part there will always be a level of anxiety there.

Had my booking appt today and got my 12 week scan booked in for 2 weeks time. My nausea is definitely back in full swing the last couple of days.

STom2 · 25/07/2022 15:10

So I finally caved and went to book a private scan for this weekend. Moreso because we are away at a wedding the weekend before the 12 week one and I wanted some reassurance before then. But turns out you need to leave 2 weeks between scans apparently. So I guess I've to wait for my 12 week one now.

MooBugz · 25/07/2022 16:35

@Furbabymum15 so sorry to hear that 😞 I hope you are doing as well as can be expected and feel free to talk your feelings out if you want.

@Gamergirl84 congrats on the scan that's pretty cool like @STom2 says few of us around the same week marks which helps having the support there!

@STom2 I didn't know that about the two week wait thing? I had my last early scan just under two weeks prior to the one I had on Sunday and they never mentioned anything about it when I told them. Maybe an individual policy?

Got my nhs 12 week scan next Wednesday counting the days now although feel pretty good about it having had the last scan just there. Going by my dates I'll be just under 12 weeks at that point 😊

OP posts:
STom2 · 25/07/2022 16:40

@moobogz Might be individual policy. The place I was booking said they "recommend" 2 weeks between scans, but according to guidelines there needs to be a minimum of 1 week. I would only be leaving 10 days between scans so I was uncertain what to do.

Just went to shops to try pick up something for tea. Everything made me want to hurl. Had to buy DH a ready meal and will see if I can stomach a bowl of cereal later. Definitely feel so done with the nausea. The mum guilt is strong today as I've been getting sick all afternoon and barely been able to do anything with DS.

Gamergirl84 · 25/07/2022 16:45

@STom2 I get the guilt too- feel like I'm hardly doing anything with DS over the past few weeks because of feeling sick all the time.
Hopefully after 10 weeks is over the nausea will lessen.

STom2 · 25/07/2022 18:47

@gamergirl84 Glad that I'm not alone in feeling like this! I'm a SAHM currently and pre-nausea I've always been quite good at getting him out and about every day. So not being able to do that as much atm is tough. I can only imagine the guilt will be tenfold if this pregnancy goes okay and there's another baby in the house 😭 But that's a thought I'm not going to deal with for at least a few more months!

On the 10 week mark - my nausea was definitely milder last week when I was between 9 and 10 weeks. Seems to have ramped up again the last couple of days. Hoping it's the hormones having one last hurrah. I know with DS it was mostly gone by 12 weeks and I was totally feeling normal by 14. So hoping this will be the same or at least finish sooner.

RedElleJ · 26/07/2022 07:52

Really sorry @Furbabymum15 - there are no words but I hope you take all the time you need and if you need us, you know where we are xx

STom2 · 26/07/2022 14:32

How are you all doing today ladies?

My nausea seems to be okay so far. I did a little more research and decided to go ahead and book the private scan for the weekend.
