Hi all,

4+3 according to Flo app, pregnant after a miscarriage in March at 11 weeks so feeling very anxious / scared and needed a safe space to speak about pregnancy worries without thriving anyone of joy!

Feel free to join and share the journey together.

@Furbabymum15 no sex here either. My symptoms keep coming and going but boobs are OK (they were fine with my 1st successful pregnancy too so not too worried), mainy nausea and smell/food aversions!

Kinda regretting booking the private scan for 8.5 weeks, it feels so long away. With my son we had 2 scans before our 12 week one so was trying to just do the one this time but regretting it!

Furbabymum15 · 13/07/2022 18:41

@LittleLottle glad I'm not alone but I never refrain from it so it's worth a try.....
I'm fine with food..... Kinda worries me I never got sickness cos they say its a good sign.

It really is a waiting game isn't it.... My 1st scan is Monday I will just about be 6 wks and I'm hoping and praying and trying to be positive...... I'm under the care of recurrent miscarriage.

STom2 · 13/07/2022 19:05

@furbabymum15 No sex here either but that's mostly due to combination of the off/on nausea and bloating plus running around after a wild toddler all day. I fall into bed at 9pm and watch Love Island like a sad case. Smile With my successful pregnancy with DS I also refrained from sex in the first trimester but that was mostly due to being a little worried it would have an impact on the pregnancy. Despite all research saying it doesn't. So I can completely understand your thought process atm!

Gamergirl84 · 13/07/2022 19:35

Welcome @LittleLottle and @Furbabymum15 there hasn't been any sexy times in my house since about October 2020 when my DS was born 😆😆😉 And actually probably before that because he was IVF lol.

@madeinthe80z and @MooBugz I'm lucky enough that my epu booked me in for a 10 week scan which is in two weeks but if they hadn't I would be booking a private.... just for the reassure.

That magical 12 weeks really hits differently when you've had previous losses. 💛

MooBugz · 13/07/2022 21:12

@Gamergirl84 that's cool how did you get them to do that. Great though saves you having to book it private.

You're right about 12 week hitting different, tense times for sure. It hoping we all get through it ok we're certainly getting there!

So reassuring to hear we're not alone in the sex desert! Although in answer to your question about doing things differently, I stop all excercise when pregnant as I got it into my head that I caused my first miscarriage by running too hard and over-exerting myself. Even though I logically know I didn't, and I know exercise doesn't cause miscarriage, I just couldn't bring myself to run again just in case. I think we do these things to feel a sense of control - it's something so out of our hands that we'll do anything we can to feel we're influencing it.

OceanbreezeSun · 14/07/2022 11:17

Morning all,

its so good to come on here and hear of your positive scans! ❤️

Welcome @LittleLottle and @Furbabymum15 this is a great, supportive thread and a good place to just have a little vent every now and again!

My booking in appointment was on Monday, I’m 10 + 6 weeks now, eeeekkk!
The midwife said my scan date will come through in the next week.
Feel abit anxious as my mmc was at 12 weeks but otherwise I’m not feeling too bad.
The nausea is still there but manageable, which I’m grateful for! boobs still feel like lead balloons, I’ve put on 3lbs already 😳

We have just moved house so that and our toddler have been keeping my mind off things.

madeinthe80z · 14/07/2022 13:08

Hi all,
Hope you're all having a good day.

I have booked a scan for tomorrow morning. I need to tell a couple of people in work as the morning sickness is just a bit too much right now and I'm having to cancel things left right and centre, but I wanted some reassurance first. Hoping I get to see a healthy bean in there and it makes the MS a bit easier to handle too! 🤢

MooBugz · 14/07/2022 14:04

@OceanbreezeSun ahh your the furthest of us all I think 🥳 not long to go till your scan date should come in then! Symptoms all sounding good so have everything crossed for you lady!

@madeinthe80z yay on getting a scan booked that'll help out your kind at ease. My sense of smell is so heightened right now everything makes me want to throw up but so far the nausea has been managed to only physically throw up 3 times haha. Going for my pre holiday wax now and it's great I never feel a thing when I'm pregnant which is odd as your meant to be more sensitive down there haha but I'll take it!

@madeinthe80z good luck for your scan!

@OceanbreezeSun oh so close to the second trimester! I thought this pregnancy would go quick but so far it really hasn't, think its because we found out so early.

@MooBugz my sense of smell is the same, I feel like a bloodhound 😂

Just over 5 weeks now and symptoms seem stronger today. Nausea is quite bad but I'm reluctant to get anything from the DR as I find it reassuring, even though it makes me feel rubbish.

JoKB · 15/07/2022 07:14

Good luck in your scan @madeinthe80z

i woke at 4am after an awful nightmare of a great scan and then feeling off and going back and the baby was gone - I was going to drive an hour to the EPU I’ve been scanned at and explain I had covid last week (which I did and is making me so so nervous, as if I wasn’t bad enough already!!!! 😔😔) but I think I’m going to try and wait for my booked scan on Wednesday - I’ll be 8.5 weeks then, but I’m finding it soooo hard to wait - especially as my sister is staying at the moment and she’s 18 weeks with an unplanned perfect pregnancy and a huge bump, and I feel like mine isn’t even real properly - I’m a mess!!!

MooBugz · 15/07/2022 07:41

@LittleLottle I was the same the nausea really peaked for me last week but seems to have settled down more this week, still present but not all through the day like last week. Like you I was reluctant to go to GP for it as found it reassuring even though difficult!

@JoKB sorry to hear about your dream I had a horrible dream last week and it felt so real. Wednesday isn't too far away just keep yourself busy till then. It always seems unfair I remember when I had my mc I hadn't even told anyone so was suffering in silence with select few knowing whereas a neighbour had annoy her her pregnancy from the minute of her missed period and sailed through it

@madeinthe80z good luck with your scan lady 😊

madeinthe80z · 15/07/2022 11:46

Thank you. All good. Saw baby, saw heartbeat. Measuring exactly 9weeks3days which is bang on with LMP due date 🙂
Phew for now!

OceanbreezeSun · 15/07/2022 15:17

Thank you @MooBugz !
I’m just taking each day as it comes with this pregnancy and try not to think too far ahead yet.

I also try not to symptom watch too much, as when I had the mmc , they were near identical to the ones I had with dd. My body tricked me😫
This time around, I’ve been more gassy/burpy ( lovely!) and my boobs are sore and big, I didn’t get either with my previous 2 pregnancies, so this is new!

When do you go on holiday? You must be getting excited now?!

@madeinthe80z I’m glad you had a good scan! 💛

Furbabymum15 · 16/07/2022 10:38

Congratulations on all the lovely scans..... I'm 6 wks and my 1st scan is on Monday morning I'm so nervous I hope it's good news and everything is in the right place. I've been getting lots of twinges on both sides and my only symptom is sore boobs

Tryingat47 · 17/07/2022 11:36

Hi there, will step in here as well. I am 7 weeks and have never peed that much, I get up in the early hours of the morning at least 3 times every night to pee. Feeling queasy at times but not too bad yet. The PMS symptoms also there such as feeling of tingling in the tummy that feels is a bit bigger but I have not gained any weight yet, sore boobs. I am a tummy sleeper so cannot find the right spot to sleep so has to tuck in the pillows everywhere to prop my boobs.

Lmcc88 · 17/07/2022 13:05

Congratulations on the amazing scan @madeinthe80z

good luck for your first scan @Furbabymum15 got everything crossed for you!

Is anyone else really emotional? I started crying yesterday involuntarily and it was tears dripping down my chin I couldn’t stop them!

RedElleJ · 18/07/2022 10:59

Morning all,

Sorry I have been so absent - have been preparing myself for this worst and my head just wasn't in a good place to pop on and say hi.

I'll be sure to have a catch up on how things have been going soon but I just thought I would give you an update.

Basically, my bleeding got more substantial and changed to bright red over the weekend. EPU wouldn't see me as it was too early for a re-scan and I wasn't bleeding heavily enough. So, I prepped for the worst today when I had my private scan.

I was completely dumbfounded when she said there was a baby with a heartbeat!!! I had even booked mine and my hubby's favourite wine bar for a few weeks time as I was convinced baby was gone...obviously going to cancel that now. She can't give me an explanation for the bleeding as there was nothing going on in there to suggest there was any. My measurements are a bit funny as my uterus is tilted...apparently it makes measuring more difficult. However, baby is measuring at its smallest 8+2 and at its biggest 9+0. I am 8+4 today so I suppose that is all a good sign.

I know I am not out of the woods yet but today things are positive...unbelievably enough!

Hope everyone is staying safe in the crazy heat we are about the endure - lots of love to all xx

Furbabymum15 · 18/07/2022 11:50

@RedElleJ oh that's amazing news I'm so glad for you and have everything crossed xx
@Lmcc88 Thankyou...... I had my scan and fearing the worst..... She said I'm measuring 6 wks instead of 6+4 and couldn't confirm a heartbeat so it's inconclusive. She said it's 50/50 what they see at a rescan next Monday. Was quite blunt and cutting at how my age isn't on my side.... I know 44 isn't ideal but really 🙄

RedElleJ · 18/07/2022 12:35

@Furbabymum15 what a horrible experience. Think I read somewhere measurements should be taken with a +-5 days approach so I don’t know why she was so cold in her manner.

We will keeping sending you all the positive vibes and hope for the best.

Really sorry it wasn’t the best experience for you today - hope you have an easy day ahead of you x

Lmcc88 · 18/07/2022 12:40

@RedElleJ that is so amazing! I’m really happy for you!

@Furbabymum15 I was also measuring quite a bit behind but they told me not to worry as they can be 5 days out! I’m sorry that she was a bit cold with you that’s not what you want! Really hoping for positive news for you on Monday!

STom2 · 18/07/2022 18:33

@furbabymum15 That was actually a pretty sh**ty thing to say to you, knowing you will have been nervous about the scan as it was. Was this with a private scan or your EPU?

@RedElleJ Delighted you had a good scan result! But appreciate you will still be a bit nervous for the next while.

I'm currently away on holidays until Saturday so kind of burying my head in the sand still. Didn't get a scan before I left but still thinking I want to get one soon as I get back. I'll be about 10+4 at that stage. Still getting nausea off and on. Have had some cramping today and it's making me paranoid. Can't tell if it's just trapped wind as I've been constipated or something to be concerned about.

Hagster · 18/07/2022 19:34

@RedElleJ that is incredible news, you must be delighted. Absolutely appreciate that it's a long road but I'm so happy you're still on this journey. Congratulations.

@furbabymum15 I'm sorry the scan was so difficult. I have everything crossed for you that next week is positive. We're here for you either way.

Hope you're all ok in this heat. I've just been told off by DH for swearing too much 🙄

LittleLottle · 18/07/2022 19:39

@RedElleJ Glad everything is looking good, it must be a relief!

@Furbabymum15 sorry the scan didn't go as planned, I had a scan at 7 weeks with my son and was told the +- 5 day rule too. Fingers crossed its all caught up at the next scan.

5+4 and all symptoms have disappeared today, trying not to panic but fearing the worst.
