@RedElleJ I've had diahorrea off and on for the last week or so. The hormones can have an impact on your bowels in different ways. I've never had the constipation in pregnancy but definitely got the opposite in first trimester with DS!

MooBugz · 07/07/2022 14:05

Afternoon all hope you are all ok.

Sorry to hear about the bleeding @RedElleJ I hope it's nothing serious and that it goes away soon. Bleeding of any kind down there would cause a worry so completely understand but don't write yourself off, the pregnant body is a weird and wonderful thing and doesn't always make sense.

Also the hair thing, I'm finding my hairs falling out more than usual so most definitely not at that pregnancy glow stage especially if you team it up with the endless nausea that goes with it!

Sorry to hear about the bleeding @RedElleJ, it's so hard for you not to just go straight to worrying about the worst case scenario isn't it. Really hope you're able to get a scan soon and find out how things are. And in the meantime I hope you're able to get some TLC from somewhere. Whatever you need to help you when you're going through something like this! Will be thinking of you. And re: diarrhoea, I've definitely had a funny tummy since being pregnant too, hopefully that's not a sign for you x

Thanks for asking @MooBugz, I'm ok although the 9 week mark is on the horizon which is always the scariest one for me since that's when growth stopped last time (but didn't discover until the 12 week scan). Trying to keep busy and distract myself and stay away from reading too much about loss on the internet (why does my brain do that?!)

MooBugz · 07/07/2022 20:05

Oh @Hagster that's really sad sorry it was discovered at your 12 week scan how awful that must have been 😞

Mine was discovered when I was bleeding at 11 weeks but baby stopped growing at 8 and I was 8 weeks on Tuesday just there so this is my anxious week. Having a lot of nausea so that's reassuring. Last time I did have covid at the time Around 8 weeks so can't remember much if symptoms stopped/covid symptoms took over.

I have my private scan on Monday so looking forward to that but also not if that makes sense 🙃 ditto on the googling about loss my brain tends to wait until I'm in bed and suggest that!

OP posts:
Hagster · 07/07/2022 20:27

Thanks @MooBugz, yeah it completely blindsided us. Hadn't had any indication of things not being ok, we thought we'd 'made it' to 12 weeks. It was horrible. But of course so are the other ways of experiencing loss so I feel for everyone here! How have you been doing this week considering it's your anxious one? Monday isn't too far now x

MooBugz · 07/07/2022 20:36

Definitely horrible all ways but it must just knock you finding out like that without so much as a sign. When I had the bleeding I knew something wasn't right so had semi prepared mentally, still ugly but not out the blue like it would have been for you 😞

I've been ok considering history was repeating itself in that my whole family caught covid again this past week and I've so far been negative and was so scared of it happening again. I'm doing ok though thanks just keeping myself busy and have a holiday to turkey next Friday so it'll be 12 weeks time before I know it, hopefully!

OP posts:
Hagster · 07/07/2022 20:49

Thanks @MooBugz I really appreciate that.

Sounds like it's been a really hard week for you, well done for getting through it so far. And Turkey will be a lovely escape, I'm very jealous!

Gamergirl84 · 08/07/2022 07:29

Hi all, sorry I've not been very active for a few days. I'm slowly working my way to the scan on Monday but I'm so so nervous I'm trying to keep away from the Internet and dr Google 🙃

Been having quite bad nausea for the past week- no sickness -but this morning feeling a bit more myself.

Obviously none of our 'natural' pregnancies have worked out so I'm trying to be realistic.

STom2 · 08/07/2022 09:34

How are you feeling today @RedElleJ ?

Good that you're feeling more like yourself this morning @gamergirl84. I'm the same. Yesterday the nausea eased massively and only kicked in when I got hungry (had a huge appetite). Didn't get sick either. Feel relatively normal so farthis morning. But you know that's both a blessing and a curse in these early days, as you end up wondering if something has gone wrong. Trying to remind myself I know my symptoms came and went with DS.

OceanbreezeSun · 08/07/2022 11:22

Morning everyone,
I hope you are all ok.

@MooBugz very jealous of your planned Turkey holiday. Abit of sun, sea and sand will do you good! ❤️

-@RedElleJ I hope you are telling ok and the bleeding has stopped x

@Gamergirl84
its good you are feeling more yourself today.
The nausea I was having had definitely eased up, I just get it in waves now, which is good.
Tooth brushing is another thing altogether though 😩 Yuk. I’m struggling with mouthwash too.

How far along are you?
I’m 10 weeks on Monday. I have read that the placenta starts taking over between weeks 9-12, which is why symptoms can start easing up for many women.

RedElleJ · 08/07/2022 12:12

Hi everyone,

quick update from me. I’ll catch up on all your messages later this evening.

I got referred to EPU for a scan this morning and thankfully all still looks okay. The yolk sac looked a bit roughened up so they think that’s what caused the bleed. I also have a bleed in my right ovary which they said is nothing to worry about.

I have been prescribed progesterone for the time being and can have it up to 16 weeks if I make it that far so yeah, feeling okay for now but a bit rattled.

Hope everyone is okay today - catch up with you all this evening xxx

STom2 · 08/07/2022 12:33

@RedElleJ So glad things are still looking okay. And thank goodness you took action and got checked out. Especially as they established the cause of the bleeding and were able to give you the progesterone. Take it easy today. Xx

seven201 · 08/07/2022 13:32

@RedElleJ that is great news. Well done on getting that sorted (it can require a lot of effort to even get an appointment these days!). Progesterone sounds a great plan. I'm on it until 16 weeks too.

Lilipa · 08/07/2022 15:02

Hi all!
I haven't been online for a while because I needed to not think about the pregnancy as much. I'm quite worried because my symptoms are almost gone away and I have a feeling I had COVID (fever and coughing for 1 week) so I'm worried this has now played an impact to the pregnancy. Fingers crossed this is not the case!
So, I had a scan booked for Monday (I'd be 6w+3d then) but I decided to call my epu and reschedule for when I'll be 8 weeks. I suddenly got a fear for the scan because all my 4 miscarriages were between 6 and 7.5 weeks and always after a scan. In fact my last miscarriage in December happened only 20 minutes after the scan. So I'm worried these scans are not good for me, even though I know there is no scientific evidence to support this assumption.
Anyway, thought of writing my thoughts here and ask when did you have your first scan and if you think changing it to week 8 is a good decision?

MooBugz · 08/07/2022 15:17

Thanks @OceanbreezeSun I really feel like it's coming at a good time and will help relax me ☺️

@RedElleJ sorry you've had a rough time of it but I'm glad you had a positive scan and fingers crossed it stays that way. Bleeding is scary even if you do know people can get it in pregnancy!

@Lilipa it's totally dependant on how you feel you'll cope with the wait. Personally I was undecided but eventually booked an early scan knowing alternative would be I would spend the time worrying so would rather the reassurance of knowing.

With covid chances are your absolutely fine! Covid symptoms are strong so it could just be they have taken over the pregnancy ones and you'll feel the symptoms again when it's fully away. I'm not the best person to ask lol I have my own anxiety around covid as I had a mmc and dated back to when I had covid but I'll never know for sure. And many have said they know of pregnancies goofiness despite having covid at different stages of pregnancy.

You just have to do what feels right for you everyone is different. Good luck

RedElleJ · 08/07/2022 15:42

Glad you are feeling a bit better @Gamergirl84 - and good luck for the scan on Monday. Sending you all the love and positivity x

Glad I have a progesterone buddy @seven201 - I have been told and read about the side effects so I am kinda hoping that keeps me calmer. Knowing that any discharge could be from that. I know obviously it could not be but might help the anxiety a bit.

@Lilipa I can't even begin to imagine the anxiety you must feel around scans. If it helps, I know someone who scanned themselves (sonographer) every week and there was absolutely no issues. However, the power of association is strong so you made a decision based on how you were feeling and that was the best decision you could have made at that time x

seven201 · 08/07/2022 15:51

@Lilipa I had a scan at 6+3 at my miscarriage/immune treatment clinic (private, not epu) said that's when it should be done. I went (and paid a small fortune) and embryo was measuring small and was told not be too hopeful. I already had my ivf clinic (who refuse to scan before 7 weeks) scan booked for 7+2 so went to that and although measurements are a week behind, there's a heartbeat. So personally, if I'm ever in this position again I'd wait until 7 weeks. There's no right and wrong though. You need to just do what feels right for you. If you'd feel happier waiting then you should. Unless you've ever been told you need early checking in case of potential treatment.

seven201 · 08/07/2022 15:53

@RedElleJ I'm on cyclogest. I used to use them vaginally but found it messy and as I'm prone to thrush I decided to stop. I find anally much easier and less messy personally. If you do use them vaginally I'd wear a panty liner. Prepare for seeing the wax coating in the toilet - it's not the actual progesterone.

STom2 · 08/07/2022 16:07

@Lilipa I had Covid last week and my morning sickness is still going strong. I have some concerns about whether it's had an impact on the pregnancy but TBH I looked up threads on MN where loads of other women caught it early in their first trimester and are reassured by so many other women who caught it at the same time and went on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies. One said their midwife explicitly told them it's better to have it in the first trimester rather than later on as that's when they've seen there can be more risk to the baby. But much the same can be said for catching the flu later in pregnancy.

MooBugz · 09/07/2022 07:21

Morning all, hope you are doing good and have a nice weekend ahead 😊

Happy to say I've remained testing negative for covid and the last one in the household is now only showing a faint line and past the 5 days infectious period so a huge sigh of relief from me that I've avoided it this time as well as from my colleague who sits next to me:

That's perked me right up and I'm so ready for this scan on Monday feelin them positive vibes and had the nausea the whole way through so symptoms are very much still present.

Have a wonderful day my lovely ladies and sending you so much positive energy to keep your anxieties at bay 💜

Hi everyone, hope you are all okay and having a lovely weekend.

I had my scan on Friday (after waiting over an hour in reception!) and happily everything was in the right place, so no second ectopic! And we saw a lovely little heartbeat! So everything is looking good so far, still nervous but feeling a lot lot calmer.

@MooBugz Good luck for your scan on Monday and everyone else whose having theirs next week!

Gamergirl84 · 09/07/2022 17:51

Thanks @RedElleJ and good luck to @MooBugz for your scan too 🙂. This weekend is going so slowly for me, really feel like it's make or break on Monday and we just want this tiny one so much.

Anyone feeling incredibly bloated? I'm really hungry but can't eat because I feel so full already. Its so uncomfortable .

RedElleJ · 09/07/2022 18:04

Congrats @Boggles24 that’s amazing news - here’s to the next scan going just as well! X

Glad to hear you are out of the danger zone @MooBugz and good luck for Monday - sending more positivity your way too x

Some days I feel like that @Gamergirl84 - been feeling like it today if I’m honest. Thinks is just a normal part of the process.

I don’t know if it’s the progesterone or just one of those days but I have a killer headache. So I’m gonna have a early night and hope I wake up feeling more human x

MooBugz · 09/07/2022 18:42

Aww @Boggles24 that's great news about the scan you must have been so nervous bless you but glad it went well and may it stay that way for us all 😊

Thanks @RedElleJ @Gamergirl84 the weeks went in quick for me I'm not even thinking about the scan tbh that's probably why. If I think about it I get myself worked up lol. We're so close @Gamergirl84 !

Ditto on the bloating my bloat game is strong I already look very pregnant 🤭

Enjoy the lovely weather 😇

@MooBugz that's excellent you're covid free! Seems like Monday is a busy scan day.

@Boggles24 congratulations! That's great news.

@Gamergirl84 I know how you feel. I've got a scan Monday and have been warned it could go either was (measuring a week behind) so it's all I can think about.

@RedElleJ hope the early night sorts our your head.
