Afternoon everyone!

Im just back from my scan! Kept me there ages to do all the checks. Got scanned by two different people as well.

Everything looks great and as it should. Measuring right on track at 7+5. Seen a lovely strong heartbeat. Still have my feet on the ground though as we seen a heartbeat the same last time. Just have to get over the 11 week mark and hopefully will start to feel less stressed.

They couldn’t find my left ovary which is why they scanned me a fair bit. It was hiding behind my fibroid in the end, which has shrunk with the pregnancy hormones.

They are happy enough not to scan me again until we are back from England so will hopefully have one around the 11 weeks. Before booking appointment fingers crossed.

Due date they’ve given me is the 16th Feb. xx

Great news @Rubes1234 glad it went well! They couldn't find my left ovary either...in fact they never can on my scans, I'm beginning to think I don't have one 🤣🤣
A sonographer during one of my many scans last year was telling me the pictures you see of the female reproductive system are so not true to life, in fact your ovaries and uterus etc are all over the place!

MooBugz · 05/07/2022 17:29

Hello! Happy days @Rubes1234 glad you got the good news in the scan results today and fingers crossed it helps you de-stress a little, although do we ever really?

Hope everyone is doing good today. I keep yawning today feel so exhausted this past few days and the nausea doesn't help but happy to have the symptoms of it means everything is going right 🤞🏼 not long till Monday now.

I've got a busy week ahead at work and weekend is all planned out so should really be a quick week ahead for me!

@Rubes1234 congratulations! What a wonderful result. Good about the fibroid shrinking. My left ovary is often hiding too.

STom2 · 05/07/2022 18:34

@Rubes1234 Congrats on the positive scan today!

I got my booking in appointment today. Had to push it back already as I will be on holidays. So it's still another 3 weeks away. I'll be 10+3. Toying with the idea of having another scan next week. Before I go away. Moreso due to covid paranoia. But I know that research says it shouldn't impact early pregnancy (as it would late pregnancy). Its that dilemma of wanting to head away with a positive scan under my belt rather than a week of doubt. But equally unsure whether blissful ignorance would be better than heading on holiday immediately after a bad scan.

Nausea has been bad again today. Really hit this afternoon and threw up a couple of times. Have been cycling through motion sickness wristbands, hard boiled sweets fruit to try keep it at bay.

madeinthe80z · 05/07/2022 18:48

@STom2 do you have to keep changing the bands? Is that a thing? I have been feeling horrific these past few days. Not sure how I can get through work! Does it feel better after you've been sick? Wondering if I should just let it happen!

The bands I bought have these little metal balls inserted that you place on your wrist pressure points. It's like an acupuncture thing I think? Says there's effects in 10 mins and they can be reused or left on (but maybe take off through the night). I can't say yet if they've been a miracle cure for me as I was trying different things this afternoon so it might have been a combination of all of these that helped (the boiled sweets, eating peanut butter toast, 7Up and wearing the wristbands). Also I've been absolutely craving satsumas?? Eating them a lot. Seem to help with the nausea.

In my experience I feel better after being sick but this is generally brief. I tend to have to eat something soon after being sick or else the hunger/empty stomach makes it so much worse.

madeinthe80z · 05/07/2022 20:35

@STom2 sorry I misunderstood, when you said 'cycling through wristbands' I thought you meant you swapped them out! Mine came in a pack of 2 so I thought that might be a thing (clutching at straws!!) I'm sure I read somewhere today somebody saying they rotate theirs though 🤔

I've worn them all day today. Little relief. Can't find anything to settle my stomach. I'm going to try antacids I think. I've been having the tesco orange ones before bed the last few nights because I've been so bloated so wondering if they may help in the day. Just one anyway. I think they're safe??!

Rubes1234 · 06/07/2022 08:16

Hey everyone!

Thanks all for your kind messages!

The left ovary comments did make me laugh! My scanner also said the same @madeinthe80z it’s not at all what we think It looks like and can be all a bit messed up depending on the time of month. Strange isn’t it. I sometimes wonder why we only get taught the basics at school!

I was lay there like please find this ovary cause I’m going to wet myself! All the pushing and prodding had a slight bit of browny discharge last night but I’ve always been the same after them poking about in there.

I feel more relaxed today, we’re due to come home to England for ten days next week so my mind is settled a bit but still worried as per usual!

Sickness today is unreal! I can’t bear eating anything. Had a bite of toast and it was and instant nope from me. I may try the bands as well!

RedElleJ · 06/07/2022 08:55

Congrats on the scan @Rubes1234 - I am pretty sure during my last pregnancy they couldn't find one of my ovaries too. They found them both this time though so they must be in a world of their own at time!

Sorry to hear everyone is feeling so rough. I know it can't be nice but hopefully it is giving some reassurance that things are doing what they should. I am still immensely worried about lack of symptoms. I have another scan booked for the 18th July, the day before my booking appointment - hoping everything will still be going well at that point and genuinely hoping to feel some sort of pregnancy symptoms by then too!

Hagster · 06/07/2022 14:08

Hi all, wondering if I can join?

I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant. I have a 21 month old boy after a MMC at 12 weeks. Even though my last pregnancy resulted in a live birth, I just still feel so anxious again and I just cycle round and round with whether this one will make it. One minute I'm scanning baby name threads and the next I'm feeling stupid for getting attached and ahead of myself. So I feel I need somewhere where others understand and we can all be anxious together!

Sorry I've not managed to read all the posts above so I appreciate I'm jumping into the middle of the conversation, hope you're all ok and wishing you all sticky beans.

MooBugz · 06/07/2022 14:59

Hi @Hagster welcome 😊 I'm sure you've been on another thread with me maybe the tww?

Have you booked or planning any extra scans this time round? It's a scary time I would imagine once you've had a mc then pregnancy is never the same even if you do go on to give birth fine it'll still be there in. Your kind the next time. It's a traumatic event so I can understand why would still be anxious about things

STom2 · 06/07/2022 15:21

Welcome @Hagster! Hagster and I were on another rainbow baby thread together in 2020 and it was a very supportive lovely group (much like this one!) Our DCs are about the same age.

How are those with nausea doing today? I've managed to not throw up yet, which must be a win. I've been grazing non stop and wearing the sickness wristbands all day so must be helping. Also had a nap. Thankfully I'm lucky in being a SAHM so I can nap when DS naps. Prior to pregnancy I used this time to be productive and study. But that's all gone out the window for the time being!

Think I'm leaning toward not having another scan before holidays next week. But will see how the next week goes. I could very well change my mind multiple times between now and then.

MooBugz · 06/07/2022 15:52

Oh my nausea is still pretty strong but like you @STom2 managed to hold back the physical vomit so far. Every day is different in that what works one day doesn't work the next and I've gone through so many different drinks and fruits and I'm worn out. I never remember the nausea being so in control like this before! It totally takes over and I find it hard to concentrate at work some days. Luckily I'm part time so only work mornings and can come home and hide under a blanket while the kids play around me 🤣

Hi @Hagster welcome!!

I hope you enjoy the group!! We’re all as irrational and hormonal as each other here! No judgement just understanding ❤️‍🩹

Ive managed to keep some super noodles down this afternoon. Big win!!

The amount of people I have put on a silent hold today to be sick at work. The joys of WFH!!

STom2 · 06/07/2022 16:15

@Rubes1234 That's a win for sure!

I spoke too soon earlier. Mid conversation with DH and it came from nowhere and had to run to loo to be sick. Only just made it.

Hagster · 06/07/2022 19:58

Thanks everyone for the lovely welcome. @Moobugz I'd joined a couple of other 'due in Feb/Mar' groups so you might have seen me there. Although everyone is lovely there, unless you've been through loss you just can't get the way it affects your future pregnancies so I feel more at home somewhere like this! Thanks @STom2 for introducing me to this group.

@Rubes1234 honestly you are a flipping hero for carrying on in work like that. I wonder whether the ability to WFH makes us feel more like we should work when in the past we'd have taken the day off. But then at least it lets us have the choice. I'm not sure what's better? Hope you're feeling a bit better this evening and congrats on the super noodles!

@STom2 sorry to hear you've actually been sick now, early pregnancy is so difficult, I think I'd blocked out how challenging it is on your body (and mind!).

MooBugz · 06/07/2022 21:43

@Hagster yeah that just be I had joined another group but haven't commented in it for a while because as you say it's different after you've experienced loss.

How are you feeling?

@Hagster welcome.

Hope everyone has had a good day, nausea/sickness aside!

RedElleJ · 07/07/2022 08:53

Morning ladies,

how are we all doing today? I am struggling to catch up with things at the moment.

But, random question time. Has anyone else noticed that their hair is all dry at the moment. My hair is normally in great condition (not trying to brag, I’m just really lucky) but it’s gone all dry at the ends.

i thought hair was meant to be more luscious in pregnancy 😂 if anyone has any advice or knows what is going on that would be brill

hope you all have a fab day x

STom2 · 07/07/2022 10:57

@RedElleJ I'd imagine that's just down to changing hormones and will likely ease off. I recall the first trimester being a time where I got bad acne etc and also wondered when the glow would come. But it's definitely the second trimester when that happens. Your hair stops falling out so it looks much thicker and healthier and I remember my nails were amazingly strong.

RedElleJ · 07/07/2022 11:55

Thanks @STom2 - Hopefully, it is just something that will settle.

Think karma has hit me a good one complaining about my hair - I have just started spotting/light bleeding. I know most say it is nothing to worry about but this is exactly what happened last time and then 2 days later baby stopped growing.

I know I shouldn't say it but I think it is looking like I am probably out again this time x

STom2 · 07/07/2022 11:57

@RedElleJ How far along are you? I had spotting at 7 weeks with DS.

Get yourself in for another reassurance scan if you can. It's the only thing that will settle your mind. x

seven201 · 07/07/2022 12:11

@RedElleJ I had two lots of bleeding with my dd and she was fine. If it doesn't stop try and get booked in with your epu. Sorry you're having to deal with this.

RedElleJ · 07/07/2022 13:41

I am 7 weeks today @STom2 - I have a reassurance scan booked for 8 weeks. I might just need to hold out for that. I have contacted my GP in the hope they will refer me for an early scan or prescribe me progesterone (I know it isn't a miracle but you have to try everything you can).

Thanks @seven201 - I hope it is fine. I just have the absolute fear after last time as I was so dismissed. I was told early spotting is normal and not to worry as I had a private early scan to show the pregnancy was viable.

I've not had much else, although I have had then runs (sorry for TMI) so I worry if that's a bad sign. I will keep you all posted x
