Hi all,

4+3 according to Flo app, pregnant after a miscarriage in March at 11 weeks so feeling very anxious / scared and needed a safe space to speak about pregnancy worries without thriving anyone of joy!

Feel free to join and share the journey together.

Morning ladies 🙂

What's with all of you abandoning Merseyside?! I'm in the North West, not quite Liverpool but close enough 😆

Here's to a positive week ahead everyone. I decided I'm not going to test anymore. I have a scan on Thursday when I'll be 7 weeks so I just need to keep going till that milestone. I was reading a thread about it being pointless to keep testing after your 3+ on a CBD and it actually made sense, and at this point comparing lines etc is a bit pointless. I think it said something like if you were miscarrying, you would start bleeding before your HCG started to drop. It's just hard to feel so out of control isn't it 😏

Good luck to everyone with scans today / this week x

Victoria98 · 27/06/2022 07:53

I’m feeling better, stopped bleeding on Saturday, however still have on and off pains in stomach but better then the cramps, I do have anus spasms now and yesterday after being out for half hour legs started to feel really heavy. Pregnancy test still saying positive but this don’t help because it can be like this for a while. I still have a long wait for the next scan 😞

RedElleJ · 27/06/2022 08:12

Morning all :)

Apologies, I seem to have missed a bunch of messages from yesterday!

@Skylark - good to hear that things are maybe lifting a bit in terms of COVID. Hopefully, you are feeling a lot better today and are over the worst of it?

@Ally256 sorry to hear you are feeling so grim but I would be the same as you and absolutely view it as a positive sign.

@seven201 - glad I am not the only one who is feeling the mood swings! And only one more day until your scan - keeping everything crossed and sending you all the positivity I can.

Morning @MooBugz - Glad you feel as though you are in a better headspace. Hopefully you stay clear of it and that will help prevent any extra anxiousness/worry.

@oceanbreeze well done on staying so calm. But you are totally right in still ringing the midwife today. I am sure they will get you in just for some reassurance like they did with you dd.

Welcome @gamergirl84 and good luck for your scan today. I am really sorry to hear of your previous losses and can only imagine how nervous you must feel. Hopefully, we can be here to help on the tougher days x

@madeinthe80s not long til your scan - I hope the week goes quickly for you. And that makes complete sense in regards to HCG. I had some brown spotting at 8 weeks with my last pregnancy, freaked out but the GP said as it only lasted the morning not to worry. I did a test afterwards and it was still a positive as all the others but when I had my 12 week scan (even though I was only meant to be 10) the heart had stopped at 8 weeks and 2 days approx. It is immensely difficult not be in control and I think, with tests, they don’t actually give us any…they just make us skint haha!

@victoria98 glad to hear that the bleeding has stopped. How long is it until your next scan?

Goodness, sorry for the long message there. I am 5+4 today...I actually feel like it is going quickly which is scary as I think I prefer being ignorant right now. Really gonna need a pep talk when I have my scan at 9 weeks! I had some really bad stomach pains last night (I think it was just trapped wind...sorry if tmi) but of course you do worry when the pain is quite bad. No bleeding but that doesn't mean much to be as my previous MC was missed/silent. Just going to try and power through and hope the tummy issues rectify themselves over the course of the day.

Hope we all have a great start to the week x

MooBugz · 27/06/2022 08:31

Morning morning!

@madeinthe80z good for you and I agree with what you say in fact I had a positive weeks and weeks after I miscarried and it was a strong one at that even though I didn't have retained tissue or anything either. Can't make sense of the body of a lady they work in mysterious ways

@RedElleJ if it helps I had some pains a few days ago which I feel turned out to be trapped wind too 🤣 with our history it's only natural to feel every single niggle and jot help but think it over. I have totally forgot what a normal pregnancy even feels like and find myself questioning every small movement or pain. But at the end of the day what will he will be and as another poster said, no amount of anxiety will change that

Morning ladies! Hope everyone is doing okay. Good luck to all those who have scans coming up in the next few days. I'm going to try to get one at the EPU on Wednesday. I'm about 7 weeks then (I think, as I didn't have a period between my last MC and getting pregnant again).

On the subject of where we are all based - I'm originally from Ireland by but in London the last 12 years.

How are everyone's symptoms now? For those that have reached that stage? I find it strange as with DS the sore/heavy boobs were what prompted me to take a pregnancy test. This time around my boobs aren't sore at all. Other than occasionally sensitive nips 🤣 The nausea still seems to be off and on though, which isn't ideal with a 19 month old. He's a tendency to always follow me to the loo, so he came in after me this morning when I got sick. 🙈 Would rather he didn't see that! Appreciate he won't understand but also don't want to traumatise the poor guy lol.

seven201 · 27/06/2022 09:43

Morning everyone. I'm struggling to keep up on here!

@Gamergirl84 good luck today.

@Victoria98 I'm glad the bleeding has stopped.Sorry about the spasms and legs and that you're in this limbo.

@STom2 I hope you manage to get the scan on Wednesday.

Talking about the HCG... I'm on a humongous amount of progesterone (suppositories but also progesterone injections) and estrogen (although I'm not sure if that affects this) so I'm worried if I did miscarry it just wouldn't show in the usual way as the progesterone holds off bleeding I think. I managed to resist doing another clearblue weeks one - I am proud of myself!

What are you all doing about telling people? I've told quite a lot of people purely because they know about all of ivf rounds and our 3 miscarriages. I've had such a range of reactions. Some kind of shutting the convo down pretty quickly like we shouldn't be mentioning it yet! I've not told work or obviously our 6 year old yet.

Gamergirl84 · 27/06/2022 11:22

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the good luck 😀

The scan today showed a good egg sac but no fetal pole or heartbeat. The songographer said it was textbook for five and half weeks so they've sent me hone with 400mg of progesterone pesseries and rebooted a scan for two weeks.

Guess it's just wait and see but I'm going to remain hopeful until proved otherwise 😌

MooBugz · 27/06/2022 11:29

@seven201 I'm planning on waiting till my 12 week scan then I'll tell people. Right now just my OH and one colleague knows that's all and as hard as it is to keep it to myself I prefer it that way for now since I get anxious enough without the added pressure of knowing everyone else will be anxious with me lol.

I'm going on holiday and my mum is coming too so might end up telling her as I'll have a reassurance scan before I go 🤞🏼🙈

Hi guys hope you’re all ok!

I’m jumping over to this thread if that’s ok? I’m due around the 17th of Feb and we had an early MC at 6 weeks in March so I think I’m more suited to this thread.

I’m in not so sunny Scotland and I’ve been getting symptoms since pretty early on! Sore boobs and definitely feel bigger! nauseous/sick and I’m also quite warm most of the time!

Good luck to everyone who has scans coming up! The EPU said I could have one around the 8 week mark so counting down the hours to that!

BEL88 · 27/06/2022 12:06

Morning all! I'm struggling to keep up too sorry everybody

It really is such an up and down rollercoaster so far.
I've got some cramping down one leg and had diarrhoea a couple of times this morning which is making me worry. Every time I wipe I'm expecting blood (which could even be normal even if that was to happen). It seems everything could either be a symptom of pregnancy or a symptom of miscarriage these days.

I'm from South Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We've told family, our bosses and 2 friends. If the worst was to happen then it would be those people who would need to know anyway.

Skylark1990 · 27/06/2022 12:08

Hey everyone, I need to catch up properly but just a bit upset right now because I called the early pregnancy unit to check on the date for my early scan and they said they won't do one as I've "only" had 2 miscarriages and they only follow up after 3. I'm just really sad and disappointed because the GP said he would refer me and got my hopes up, and I just feel really unsupported all of a sudden. It's so hard to have this worry and anxiety and I hadn't realised how much I'd been looking forward to being able to do the early scan still now. I just think it's cruel they won't see people until they've had 3. I asked about if I was bleeding or in pain and they said yes in that case they would see me but I'd still need a referral from gp or to go through a&e if it was heavy. I'm just really sad now 😞😥 especially due to covid I was hoping to get some reassurance all is ok.
My DP doesn't like paying for scans etc so doubt he will want to go private and I also felt much more secure having it at hospital with a medically trained sonographer. Not sure what to do now 😞

BEL88 · 27/06/2022 12:52

@Skylark1990 so sorry you've been let down like that :(
Can you go back to your GP and see if he will have another push for one?

STom2 · 27/06/2022 13:01

@Skylark1990 That's actually rubbish! They've handled that so poorly. Speak to your GP again and relay the conversation you had with the EPU and see if they say any different. I reckon they will issue you the referral.

I'm in London and my EPU is primarily drop in. So if you're happy to potentially wait up to 3 hours, you can get a scan (which is what I'm planning to do). But they will scan if you've had previous MC, are unsure of your dates or simply for maternal anxiety. I can't believe your EPU won't scan unless you've had 3 miscarriages. What's the point in having an EPU?! It's for all pregnant women up to 14 weeks to get checked whenever they feel they need to.

madeinthe80z · 27/06/2022 13:22

@Skylark1990 can ypu try and convince your husband if you don't get anywhere with your GP? The private scans aren't too expensive nowadays (about 45 quid I think) and when I had one last year, the woman doing it was a sonographer from the hospital, she just did extra for a private clinic, most likely for the money I guess! So I wouldn't necessarily worry about qualifications.

Sorry to hear that. Near me there's a place called "[insert area name] medical imaging" so it's not all "window to the womb" type places. I'd ignore your husband and just book a scan personally.

seven201 · 27/06/2022 14:41

It seems different areas have very different epu's. This was nearly 7 years ago but at my local it was gp referral only and at least a 5 days wait each time (I had to go twice when I had my daughter). The drop in ones or even self-refer ones should be standard (for those who need them). Both times I was convinced I'd miscarried and just had to wait nearly a week.

CNizzle · 27/06/2022 16:10

Sad news im afraid.
Had my 8 week scan today, no heartbeat.
Fetal pole very tiny. Probably didn't grow past 5 weeks. The progesterone has probably stopped it passing. To say we're heartbroken doesn't touch it.

Think i already knew this would be a second mmc, the lack of symptoms was too striking. I've got another scan next Monday, but its a technicality really as this was an IVF cycle. I also will meet up with the consultant to see what they think about next steps. But I'm really quite scared about the actual miscarriage part now. It was terrifying last time, I went naturally but it took 2 weeks after the mmc was confirmed to even start.

I'll be very sad to leave you lovely bunch, one of the loveliest threads ive ever been on, you've all been a great support, and its so nice to be able to talk openly with people in similar situations, but best wishes and a happy & healthy pregnancy to you all.
Lots of love xxxx

RedElleJ · 27/06/2022 16:20

@CNizzle I am so incredibly sorry and absolutely heartbroken for you. I hope you are your partner take all the time you need to recover physically and emotionally from this sad time.

My thoughts are with you and I am sending all the love in the world xxx

MooBugz · 27/06/2022 16:39

@CNizzle my blood ran cold reading that I am so so sorry 😢
I hope you are okay and are able to get some kind of answers on follow up. I feel so sad for you it's not fair.
Take all the time you need to get though this and we're still here for you for support if you need us.

@Skylark1990 I had read about people saying early scans were only offered after multiple (3+) miscarriages and was impressed that so many on here had early scans booked. Maybe if differs from area to area I do find the nhs system is very disjointed even when it comes to visiting times etc.

If I was you I would go ahead and book a private scan for your own peace of mind because it'll feel forever waiting for the actual scan. Talk to your husband he might be open to it seeing how stressed out it's making you.

OP posts:
seven201 · 27/06/2022 16:48

Oh @CNizzle I'm so very sorry. Let yourself feel whatever you need to. Don't rush back to work; take the time you need. I hope your ivf clinic are proactive when it comes to planning for any changes. I use my ivf clinic for the just the ivf stuff but also see a miscarriage/implantation specialist (who discovered immune issues, that my ivf clinic aren't interested in). Don't worry about all that yet. I'm sorry you'll have to wait for the miscarriage itself, that's a horrible place to be. So you still on the progesterone until after the scan next week? I think it's usually 3-7 days for a period to start after stopping progesterone, so hopefully it wouldn't be much longer than that. Flowers
